I'm not looking for a domain name, just a site name. As I said, it shouldn't be too close to one topic such as ubergamingextreme (gaming area). It should be something catchy and interesting. I notice that Yahoo! and Google have double o in them, seems popular.
-
Hmm...Stoople sounds good. I want somethign similar to that, not exactly though. Something with a double "o" seems good. I know that it will nto be popular until it is popularized but it will, believe me.

Submitting your site to Google and using Google Analytics/Google SiteMaps will help. I recommend you try those techniques. It can take up to 5 months for something to appear on Google.

Are you sure you are publishing to the correct folder in your account? You need to put ALL files into the public_html folder of your account. Also, try to access FTP through a FTP software such as FirefTP, CuteFTP, SmartFTP, AceFTP 3 or some other FTP program. That might work better than FrontPage. If all else fails, type: ftp.skateboarderzone.trap17.com in the INTERNET EXPLORER or AVANT BROWSER or MAXTHON browsers. Firefox and other browsers other than those will not work. I don't think it will work with IE 7 also. Can you access cPanel, if not then your password is incorrect.

I need some popular catchy site names (such as Yahoo! and Google) that are not used. Can someone please give me some ideas? Any help would be appreciated. You can give any site name that you want. I cannot exactly tell you what the site will be about because it needs to remain confidential until release date. Any name would probably be appropriate, please do not give a name that is too close to one specific topic though.

Most of these products are written for compatibility with Windows XP or lower. Expecting them to work on Windows Vista may cause unexpected performance and/or errors.Windows Vista is BETA , it is for testing purposes only. It is nott the best operating system, it is still in testing.Once Vista is not in BETA anymore, the programs should work properly on Windows Vista.I personally would not install Windows Vista BETA because:1> Instability.2> My dad would never let me.3> Computer not powerful enough.4> Void computer's warranty.I don't like BETA software anyways, too much confusion between different family members.

If you go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, you see that there is no more MSN Messenger. Windows Live Messenger has come out of BETA. However, this Messenger Plus! thing doesn't sound that bad. I'll check it out. I hope my friends upgrade to Windows Live Messenger soon.

Wow...that's sad.I've never even heard of Browsezilla before.Browsezilla is trying to identify itself as Mozilla by using the dinosaur logo. Hmm...is it the same? The search page doesn't work and the download page is full of adult links. The website is completely suspicious because it has links to adult content and adult directories on the navigation bars. Go to the download page and see very explicit adult content keywords on the side bar.

I have used McAfee SiteAdvisor for a while now.It wasn't owned my McAfee a few months back, it was just SiteAdvisor. At least I think it was.I stumbled upon it on Download.com, I reviewed it and recommended that it was essential for Firefox users to have this extension. There is also a version for Internet Explorer. I have signed up for comments on sites rated by SiteAdvisor, I forgot my password .Some ratings are helpful, they help me decide should I sign up or download from this site. Most of the time I do look at my icon at the bottom.Try it today and see what it does for you!

You Should Download Google Earth google earth is a program
FirefoxRocks replied to student7's topic in The Internet
I have used Google Earth for a while. I use it to look up driving directions and to browse Canada and the United States. The only downsides to Google Earth are:1> Requires much memory2> Not all services, etc are seen in Canada and some other countries.A LOT of stuff is in the United States though, you can barely see the street if you check all boxes! This free program is the best program for functionality. -
I personally think this is an unnecessary step to further photo software development. This however could be useful if it could replace the BMP, DIB and TIFF formats. They are rarely used so that they should be removed. At the current time, JPEG and PNG suit me just fine.I wonder how WMP would turn out. After all, WMP stands for Windows Media Player

You need to go to Google and search Domain Registrar. And then purchase a domain name from one of them. After that, set it up with your Xisto hosting account (which costs a few credits) and then once it all works, you can create subdomains, etc.

Pinging Servers Checking the webhosts speed
FirefoxRocks replied to uiop's topic in General Discussion
I knew about this a while ago.You can ping a server or an IP addresss. On Windows XP computers, type cmd in the Run box instead of command. You should use ping packets too big.Pinging home computers can cause them to bounce your "attack". -
If you want, I can teach a little MS-DOS.I remember when I was 8, I used MS-DOS to execute this:del C:\command.com:) That was a bad idea.

Including An Imgs Clock For Your Web PHP Tutorial
FirefoxRocks replied to NeOniX's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the tutorial. I really suck at PHP (Prehypertext Processor). I will consider keeping a log of PHP tutorials, they might be really helpful someday.Your tutorial can add benefit to all websites. -
This method works, but unfortunately compression software can open the file without the password. Also, you can try creating a new user account. When it asks "Make files and folders private?" click Yes, make private. Name the new user account anything using NO spaces/uppercase letters, but not something like "privatefiles" or something like that. Try accessing the files in C:\Documents and Settings\<<username>>. You cannot open the folder. Now to ensure that user is always hidden in My Computer, click Start > Run. 1. Type in command.com. This should bring up a black window that allows you to type a command in the prompt line. 2. Type cd \ 3. Type in chdir docume~1 4. Enter the command: attrib -a +h <<username>> OR attrib -a +r +h <<username>>. The +r will make the folder read-only, if someone ever finds it. 5. Press Enter if you didn't already. 6. Ensure the folder is hidden by typing in dir. 7. Check to see if the folder is listed in the directory listing. 8. Type exit to close the window. 9. Open Windows Explorer (My Computer) and go to C:\Documents and Settings\. 10. See if the folder is visible there. If it is, hide hidden/system files using View > Folder Options. *** NOTICE: In step 3, you can also put in a +s parameter. That will deter people from deleting the folder. However, if you do this, a +r is highly recommended. To take extra precautions, do this also: 1. Bring up the command prompt again. 2. Repeat steps 2 and 3 above. 3. Before continuing on, type in attrib -r <<username>>. Do this or else you cannot access the attributes of the contents inside the folder. 4. Type in chdir .\<<username>>. 5. Hide and immobilize the files by typing in attrib -a +s +h *.*. You can throw in a +r if you want the files to be read only. 6. Ensure file invisibility by typing in dir. 7. The only listings should be . and .. 8. Now type in cd \. 9. Type in chdir docume~1 10. Enter the command: attrib +r -a +s +h <<username>>. All parameters are necessary because this section is called "extra precaution". 11. Type in exit to quit the command prompt. 12. Try using Windows Explorer to hack into the folder. The only way to access these files is to log onto the correct user account in the Welcome to Windows screen. Make a password reset disk and lock it up in case you forget the password. Last steps: 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Open up the User Accounts box. 3. Click on Change the way users log on or off. 4. Disable the Welcome screen. 5. Click OK. 6. Click Start > Log off. 7. Log back on using the box. You NEED to do this because if you don't, <<username>> will appear on the Welcome screen and will make people suspicious. You may need to instruct family members, etc to use the logon box instead of the Welcome screen. This was my first tutorial. If you like it, reply below.

Try disabling your firewall, router and pop-up blockers. If you can get it working that way, just allow/trust all connections to on ALL ports. Also, ensure correct FTP settings are selected in your FTP program.Did you try my tips in the previous post?

This topic should be in Google Labs. Topic is reported. Anyways, I have Google Spreadsheets sign up and ready to use. I don't use Spreadsheets much, but it sure beats Microsoft Excel. OpenOffice 2.0 office applications will be combined with Google Services in order to take over Microsoft Office. Also see post Google Office Soon.

Multiple Trap17 Accounts Same household, different people
FirefoxRocks replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Web Hosting Support
Ok. I have 5 people in my house that wants to use Xisto because it is SO awesome! :)2 people don't mind using Xisto.net while me (12 years old) and two others prefer Xisto.com.I will check out Xisto before signing up because some people suggested it also. -
Try this:1. Ensure you have the correct username/password combination. I actually forgot my password because I was too dependant on Firefox to remember it.2. Use AceFTP, FileZilla or FireFTP. I have ensured that these 3 will work. FileZilla have had trouble connecting the first few times but it was okay after that.3. For access to cPanel, try using Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, SeaMonkey or another similar browser. AOL, Internet Explorer, Avant Browser and other Trident-layout browsers have had trouble loading the page. Opera is still untested (by me).4. Remember to click Yes or OK when the Browser security certificate appears.5. If FTP fails, try typing in \ftp site} in Internet Explorer or Avant Browser.6. If cPanel fails, try clearing Browser Cache and Browser History. Restart the computer and retry access.Hope this helps. Please post if there are further problems.

Is it allowed to have multiple Xisto accounts from the same location? I know that you have powerful tools to detect IP addresses.I am asking this because other family members want to use Xisto as thier web host because it is so awesome. Unfortuneately, we dont' have more than 1 IP address so we have to share the same connection. It is permitted to have multiple Xisto accounts on the same IP address?
