Tales Of "insert Your Rpg Title" Game Collection
DaeFenris replied to Doctor 0rifice's topic in Computer Gaming
I love Tales of Symphonia. Love love love love love! I've beaten it through 2 times now (not much for some gamers, but I RARELY ever play a game through more than once). I'm actually on my third run through. I get so excited playing that game, every, single, time! I just never get bored of it, even knowing every thing that is going to happen. I'm just lame like that, or the game is just that cool. Also, I played the translated SNES ROM of ToP and loved it almost as much as ToS. My first impression of the game was "OMG awesome water refelections". I'm not sure I'd like the GBA version since all the translations will be "kiddied down", (some harsh language/sexual content in the original). I actually beat this game through twice as well, never went back for a third try tho. I figured I had seen enough, and there are a few parts where I think, "I FREAKING HATE THIS PUZZLE!!!" and want to fling my keyboard through the window. :angry:I hear good things about all the others as well. I've always wanted to play them, but have never had the chance. If I remember correctly, ToS is actuall considered the worst of the series in Japan. So contrary to my beleif, though my opinion is slightly slanted because I've only played two. Either way, I'd love to play the others to find out if they really are that great! -
Dofus for the win everyone. Totally fun, but as stated the free area has it's let downs. I've been playing for months now and enjoy every minute of my membership. If anyone does try it, please understand that the free area is very different from the rest of the world. Attitudes, prices, creatures to fight, everything changes for the better once you get out of there. So go p2p!

Evidence For God. The ?real? evidence for a living God
DaeFenris replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
I'm in an inbetween place on my status of religion.I don't consider myself athiest, as I beleive something had to be there to help our solar system grow, and I also don't follow any sort of religious path.I'm just me. I live my life without having to prove or disprove an omnipresence. I don't understand why other people can't just leave people's beleifs alone. -

Thanks for this. I remember doing this on my home PC, and I wanted to do it on my work PC but didn't have a link to a tutorial. I'm sure I could have found one (too lazy to look, ha!), but I just happened to see this one. Hooray! -
This is pretty true. There is so much in today's world that was created in order to be beneficial to our society, yet there are so many people who twist the use into something totally opposite. I wonder if people who invent/create things are always caught up in the bliss of finally acheiving a goal. Maybe they are blind to see what cruel intentions can be thought up using their invention? I play several different games where I am part of a guild or clan within the game. When we get together to discuss rules/ideas/whatever else, we always have one special person who is there only to point out the BAD things from our GOOD ideas. We do this on purpose, because it's always a good idea to explore the negative side of our thoughts before we put something out into our ranks. If good uses do not outweight bad uses (this is somewhat limited, as practically ANYTHING can be used for evil purposes), then do we really want this out in society?

I generally don't cry when I become really sad. I just go into a daze and stay that way for a while, usually while alone.I do however, cry when I get extremely angry. I do enjoy letting it all out, such a great stress releiver. When I get overly happy, my eyes water enough to let a single tear (maybe two) slide down my cheek.Crying is really mysterious. The fact that it can be used in so many different emotional contexts makes it downright amazing. That bit about unborn babies crying, that's cool, I never knew that.

This looks like so much fun, but I'm pretty sure my computer would be commiting suicide if it attempted to run this. How sad for me, because I would really like to try what this game has to offer.

Erm....I randomly directed myself to gmail.com one day to discover I could sign up by using my cellphone's SMS. I was all over that.
-
We used to use this at my old work place all the time, mainly to kill down time. Then the boss found out...and he started using it.
-
I have google's SMS number (46645) in my cell phone address book for quick references when on the go. :angry:I always find myself in need of a dictionary and it comes in so handy when the one on my phone can't find a word (it's so limited tho, I usually just go straight to messaging google).

So Gmail is run using AJAX tech? That's interesting, I've always wanted to know how it was done. Are there any other very popular websites/web apps using this tech?

Things such as stalking someone might not be very difficult, even with a low resolution camera. It's scary because a lot of people get stalked without the use of technology. What happens when you do add something that can be so easily hid, yet still offer a decent amount of information to your query?

What Is A Chupacabra? Very Interesting.
DaeFenris replied to AmandaB78's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps it simply is a species of animal that has not been fully researched. A simple public act by one of these creatures (like sucking the blood from a goat) could cause a huge uproar, especially if it can be connected to mythology in some way. It's mysterious. People don't like mystery, it makes them feel uncomfortable and they want to know the answer. Someone could easily exploit this human urge and make a BIG deal out of something as small (yet still important if true) as a new species of creature. -
I wonder if the good uses will outweigh the bad uses with this sort of technology.Catching shoplifters = catching sexual prey?

What Is An Irc Take-over and what you can do to prevent it
DaeFenris replied to Florisjuh's topic in General Discussion
Multi-messenger programs like Trillian and GAIM have IRC capabilities too. Very basic configurations, so even a person will little IRC experience can handle the progs. Not sure on the limit of their functionality though. For basic users who just want to join a channel and be able to change their nick, it's no problem. As for channel admin/ops, no idea... -
Oh hooray! Such useful information should be stickied.

IRC is not difficult to learn. Especially if you are only going to be a regular user visiting a room for chatting purposes.People are just way too used to the GUI of all the new messengers. To put it simply: Buttons are for babies, go learn some real commands! -
UPS for the win.We had a big storm here last nite, and due to our lovely UPs, I didn't have to worry the 3 or 4 times that the power flickered.

I use GMail. I friggin love it. Except for a few minor annoyances, it's the ultimate client for me.I actually have a couple of accounts there, plus my work email. I used to use Hotmail and Yahoo mail, but they feel cluttered to me. Hard to explain, I just don't like them.GMail forever!

I think MySpace is a nice social website. I personally enjoy using it to stay in touch with friends from back home. Some people want to be social butterflies and add 10215421 friends, regardless of how many they stay in contact with. That's their personal choice, and you can make the choice to ignore them as well. With these kindappings/rapings/any other act of crime related to information let out on MySpace...to be blunt, it's that kid's fault. No one is forcing them to give out their information. If they didn't want to listen to their parents/teachers/counselors/anyone's advice on giving out information on the internet... then you can't possibly blame the website. The website has an age requirement, it's the stupid kids who bypass the rules and then get themselves into trouble.
