i find a similar lack of service from a lot of large organizations, they seem to care only about money, and having good service just costs too much, nobody cares about anything these days, and even when "guarantees" and such are made they're not enforced. I know in the organization i work for the law is breached quite often each day and nothing happens, the government doesn't care, the people i work with don't care, and if I was to go and tell people outside of the company i'd get sued and probably never get another job working in a big company ever again.. hmmm, theres my "vent" anyway

it wasn't hard for me to get my hosting approved, although I agree, paying for hosting could be much easier than coming here to post all the time, especially since my work started blocking access to the forum. I suppose if you can afford the hosting you might as well pay for it and save yourself some time. the Xisto - Web Hosting guys were great with setting up a domain name for me so I would assume their hosting would be just as good, perhaps give them a try. anyway farewell and best of luck

well the health system here in australia spends way too much money treating the results of smokers addictions and it takes money away from other things which could save others lives. I don\'t think it should be made illegal, just that people can only smoke on their own property, and it should certainly be illegal to smoke in the same room/car/space as children, they don\'t have a voice to speak up against it.

Random Acts Of Violence ...and nothing but violence to stop it?
terminal2k replied to brainless's topic in General Discussion
i would have punched the guy in the head, violence is the only way some people will listen, its not nice for anyone to do anything to you that you don\'t want them to and if they don\'t listen to you when you tell them to stop you need to do something more. His friend obviously knew that he would only respond to violence and thats why he kicked him. -
How To Get Those Free Ipods And Other Offers
terminal2k replied to BooZker's topic in General Discussion
why not just get a job and work for a few hours and buy an ipod? ipods are evil anyway -
Modern Day Movies What happen to the good old days...
terminal2k replied to Madkat-Z's topic in The Vent
yeah it is a shame the way movies rely on the stars in the movie and special effects rather than good acting and engaging stories, one big example is the new star wars movies, they sucked compared to the old ones, sure they were fun to watch but i wouldn\'t go and watch them again like i do with the originalsalso with horror movies a lot of them are just amusing and not scary at all. they should call them horrodies instead -
What Do You Know Of Trusted Computers And Do You Agree?
terminal2k replied to realthor's topic in Software
its bad, the stuff like activation and the genuine thingo in windows is just painful, and the way windows gets confused when you change hardware in the pc. the funny thing is like every security measure before it someone will work out a way to bypass it and distribute it over the internet. if companies stopped charging so much for their software (and movies and games too) people would tend to buy more stuff. -

lol, as for eating meat, I enjoy it, and would do it even if there was no nutrition in it at all, hell people eat lollies that are 100% sugar just because it tastes good.religions are scams, i'll agree with you there.\as for the white men thing, I am a white man, I don't think i'm better than everybody, i do believe I am better than a lot of people though, I am intelligent (I went to a school for gifted kids) and just looking at the way most of the people I know act and live their lives I believe that I do a lot of things better than them. I also know plenty of my friends are white males and don't believe they are better than anyone.on the topic of SUVs even if they are filled to capacity they're not usually fuel efficent anyway, there are plenty of other types of cars that would be better suited for moving people around the city.and as for profit driving the world, that one rings true aswell i guess, people are too focused on money and don't care how they get it, peole will fire a hundred people just to increase profit for their company without caring that those people now can't provide for their families. people don't seem to care in general these days, when I was younger if an old lady was trying to lift something heavy or reach an object on a high shelf people would help them without even thinking, nowadays nobody helps each other. its a shame the world is becoming like this.

some people are just stupid and have nothing better to do than watch tv to see what the latest gossip is about their favourite celebrity. it can get stupid sometimes. i mean paris hilton shouldn't be famous, sure she's rich, but the only thing she ever did was be a ditsy slutty partying girl, and now she's got tv shows, she's in movies and now even has her own "jewel jam" cellular phone video game (which i might add she couldn't even get clost to calling it by its right name when she appeared at e3 to promote it).Ahh well, there isn't much we can do about it, simple people will be amused by simpe things

yeah living in shared places can be cheaper but brings up problems like this, I moved into a shared apartment a few years ago, always had my share of the bills paid on time, and kept my mess out of the rest of the place (my room was pretty messy but thats my room), now the guy who's name was on the lease and his girl were messy as anything, and constantly left garbage and other junk all over the loungeroom and were especially bad in the kitchen. Now the whole living arrangement was fine for the first 6 months, now the guy on the lease was having problems with his girl and ended up being very annoyed by her at 4am one morning, starts banging on the door of my room yelling at me because I hadnt washed up after dinner (I might add that there was plenty of stuff in the kitchen not washed up that I hadn't used and that half of the kitchen stuff like saucepans were mine anyway and were always dirty on the bench when i needed to use them), now he basically was abusing me because I hadn't cleaned the wok (which was his) and ended up telling me that I would have to move out.It was funny because he ended up kicking out the one person in the apartment who always paid the rent and bills on time, owned all the saucepans, and was neatest in the house, from what I heard they had a very hard time finding someone else to stay there. I also had to move back in with my mum becasue I had nowhere else to go and it took me about 6 months to move into a new place, it was smaller and older but I onlyhad to share it with my girlfriend. Its a lot less stressful living alone like this and even if you end up going back to the desert it will work out better in the long run.hope you don't end up stuck in a situation like that again

well i was enjoying my free hosting with Xisto, the only thing missing was my own domain name, looking around i found most domain registration places were all very similar so I decided to go with one of the sister companies of Xisto, Xisto - Web Hosting. I must say the process was very easy and my domain was registered very quickly, then I jumped on here and processed an application to setup my new domain name. It was all done and within a short time my domain details had propogated through the dns system and my website was online. it was a great experience, easy and fast, something I would definately reccomend to any other Xisto user that doesn't currently have a domain name of their own Notice from electriic ink: Thank you for your review but please remember to make your topic titles as descriptive as you can. Edited.

Do You Hate Internet Explorer? Show Your Support! this is called FLING IE
terminal2k replied to mayank's topic in Software
dude that doesn't mean there is a problem with firefox, it just means that website probably doesn't conform to the internet standards and was most likely designed for IE as for people saying "well IE has market share" thats because the general pc user doesn't know its an evil inseure browser, its just the one thats on their computer already and because it says "internet" in it they assume thats where the internet lives. I must say though that firefox still has some way to go before it can be called the "better browser" I've tried to get friends to switch but have had difficulty using it, the sad truth of it is 80% of computer users don't really know what they're doing. -
thats how the forum looks to me, clicking the Xisto logo refreshes the page, clicking the words "free web hosting no ads" just below it takes you to the Xisto main homepage, if you want to return to the forum index you'll want to click the "free web hosting no ads" link thats below where is says "logged in as" that will take you to the forum index. so all your options are there, not really any need to go changing anything

The Human Mind Why the heck do we think so much??
terminal2k replied to John Kimble's topic in The Vent
having a mind that over-analyzes things can be a bad thing when you are thinking about things in your own life like that, but it can be useful later in life when you do certain jobs, being able to think about things in different ways and see potential problems and also the potential solutions to problems. -
i've had many goth friends and i actually like the way they look, i find people that wear the latest fashions (one example is the people that all started wearing von dutch clothing for a few months and must have spent heaps of money on it but then threw it away when it wasn't cool anymore), those people tell more about themselves by what they wear than anyone else and are usually the ones who aare most likely to avoid goths, punks and geeks. Ahh well, we all know they're missing out on meeting some of the nicest people around. sucks to be them

it is amazing how many people can fall victim to scams, even ones that have been going around forever like the ones where some guy from nigeria will say he needs help smuggling millions of dollars out of the country and will give you 10% for helping him, all you need to do is send him all our bank account details. then they ask you to send them some money to pay some "fees" and things like that.there are scams everywhere in life though, scams on the internet where they sell your details to people who want to send you lots of spam, or free downloads that come full of spyware.i suppose as long as there are people in this world that keep falling for these scams then they will always exist
-
i used to have a very similar problem but I found a solution, wearing ugg boots instead of socks so that your feet don't get wet.
-
i do understand exactly what you mean, a lot of music i get into is played on the pop stations 6-12 months after i've started listening to it and all of a sudden its "cool" the worst part is the people usually have no idea why hey like it, its just the "in" thing at the timer. People these days can't make up their own mind about anything, they have to be told what is cool and then they like that, just because everyone else does.theres isn't much you can do about it, just ignore these people knowing you're better than them and that they'll forget about it when the next cool thing comes along

Is 21 Y.o. Old? Is 21 year of age considered old?
terminal2k replied to FLaKes's topic in General Discussion
its quite funny, when you're a young kid you can't wait to turn 21, once you get there you realize how much easier life was as a kid. To answer the question 21 is not old, 35+ is old. But 21 is the peak of your life, it all goes downhill from there, and you end up turning into your parents even though you swore to yourself you never would. You know why? because your parents were right all along. -
Religions And Creeds What we believe and why.
terminal2k replied to ATMcGuire's topic in Science and Technology
i personally dislike religion, if there was one "true" religion i believer that a god would do something to make it known (like the stories in the bible), all religion seems to bring in this world is pain and suffering. my belief is best summed up by something from the de la soul song "held down" which has a line that goes "And as my daughter walks in and chooses to ask Why are all those people sleeping on the floor all covered in red, I told her they were looking for god but found religion instead" -
when you think about the way bad programming breaks computers today (hello mr gates, you suck) you can only assume that in the future when robots do more and more for us that something like a computer virus could turn "good" robots into killing machines, robots could take over things like the police force (ala robocop) and the army, then having a virus, hacking attempt, anything like that could put us into a terminator style world.further to that if we ever create true artificial intelligence it could very easily see us as a threat to the planet or to the AI itself and decide to get rid of us all. I don't anticipate seeing any of these things happen within our lifetimes but are certainly issues our kids, or thier kids may face.
