  3. Intel has moved over quad core and announced that it will be launching a native six core processor named Dunnington based on the Penryn architecture later this year. Although it is aimed at servers, it maybe ported for desktops and laptops. The Intel Dunnington processor uses a 45-nm die fabrication process. The six cores share three 3MB L2 caches and a 16MB L3 cache. It implements Quick Path interconnects an Intel pateneted point-to-point data transfer interface replacing the traditional slower FSB. Data transfer rates would be 25.6 Gbps. It also has an integrated memory controller and supports DDR3 800 Memory.Simultaneous multithreading is another feature that is widely touted. SMT enables each core to handle two threads at a time, this will result in huge speed increase. Al these features implemented in Dunnington means that servers will be able to handle more requests and speed up delivery of pages.

  5. Here is another way of disabling the caching of thumbnails, -> Open the 'Folder Options' dialog box from Start > Control Panel > Folder Options or open Windows Explorer and select 'Folder Options' from the 'Tools' menu. -> In the 'Folder Options' dialog select the 'View' tab. -> Select and check the 'Do not cache thumbnails' option in the 'Advanced Settings' -> Click on Apply to All Folders and then on OKyou can safely disable thumbs.db if you don't mind waiting a few seconds for the images to appear in the Thumbnail view. You'll not be able to see any difference in folders with a few images. You'll see a little difference in folders with thousands of images. by disabling the Thumbnail caching you can save hard disk space.
  6. I love the first Sig, the boy's face blends well with the background. You should've used a different background color for the second sig, maybe some color picked from the Halo Image
  7. Atom is the new family of processors for Mobile Internet Devices. It is based on an entirely new micro architecture designed specifically for small devices and low power, while maintaining the Intel Core 2 Duo compatibility. It supports for multiple threads. It will be the Intel's smallest and lowest power processor. It will be manufactured on Intel's 45nm process technology. The chips will consume about 0.6 - 2.5 watt and can scale up to 1.8 GHz clock speeds. Learn more about Intel Atom Processor
  8. Right now I'm playing NFS ProStreet, the latest version in the Need For Speed Series.NFS ProStreet is the best among the other games in the series. EA enhanced the gaming and graphics a lot better in the NFS series right from the NFS Underground and also gave us the game with a mild story line attached to it to keep the racing interesting and also allowed us to roam the cities. Both NFS Underground and NFS Underground 2 were the same, with only minor differences in graphics and in game play.NFS Most Wanted came out with a new level of game play with great graphics and a better storyline, where you move up the black list. It introduced new game modes and also added a lot more realism to the cars and got more exotic cars. NFS Most Wanted was more like a sequel to NFS Hot Pursuit.then came NFS Carbon with cool graphics and new game modes like Tokyo Drift. It wasn't really exciting.Last December EA released NFS Pro Street, where it is more than street racing. It has lot more realism and new cars and better game play.It has a completely new set of game modes which are similar to the old ones but a lot more better. The music is good as well as the Game Interface. The major addition is the damage that happens to the car. This adds a level of realism to the game. The damage to your car affects its performance. We need to repair the car either by paying for it in cash or with repair markers.I'd say that NFS Pro Street is the best of all the other titles in the NFS Series. A must try for all the NFS fans

  18. Reading the Bible within an year can be done easily if you read 3 chapters daily and also with help from some Bible reading planners. But the actual reason to read the Bible is to understand what it says and what is God's plan for the mankind and a lot more such facts. When you read the Bible fast just for the reason to boast of reading it in an year, you fail to understand the facts and the events and fail to get the actual message most of the time. So it doesn't matter whether you are reading the bible within an year but how well you read it and how you understand the context. If you read the Bible daily and meditate on what you just read. this will help you understand the context and help you remember what you've read.I've read the Bible completely 3 times in a period of over 5 years. The first time I completed within an year, after that I started started analysing the verses and each time I read the same verse I get to know about new facts or events or messages which I was not able to grasp the previous time.the Bible is such a gem of a Book, that you can learn new things each time you read it
  19. the PCMag article describes how to embed custom fonts with the web pages. But this solution is not supported by all the browsers. for instance IE will not support PFR where as Mozilla will not support WEFT. There is no general font embedding technology. But you've solutions where you replace the text you want in custom font with image replacement and flash replacement techniques. sIFR which stands for "Scalable Inman Flash Replacement" is a technique which replaces the text with custom font text embedded within a flash file that is generated dynamically. If javascript is disabled you'll not be able to see the text with custom fonts. the other method is using image replacement with CSS. In this technique we place the text off the screen and put a image with the custom text in its place. The major draw back is that the user will not be able to select the text to copy. so you need to choose the technique based on how you want the site to function I'm ready to help you; in case if you need sIFR example Image replacement technique examples, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  20. I'm very sorry that I couldn't make my entry for the Easter SOTW even after a remainder mail from Mich I spent most of my Easter holidays traveling. I traveled for over 40hours in just 3 days all in Bus under heavy rain and bad roads. My vote for the Easter SOTW goes to Mich The elements in the Mich's Sig blend well with the background and it creates some unique effect. I'd love to see more text styling Truefusion's Sig looks cool but the bunny doesn't blend well with the background. Nice text effects. so here are the results, truefusion: 1 SkyStormKuja: 0 Mich: 1

  25. ASP is the Server-Side Scripting language from Microsoft. Microsoft Visual Studio is used for developing & designing using ASP.NET. ASP.NET has a lot of prebuilt bundled components so you can save a lot of time writing code for the things that you use commonly. You can learn more about ASP.NET at http://www.asp.net/. PHP is an Open Source Server-Side Scripting language currently managed by Zend. PHP is the most commonly used web programming language, the reason being it is free and you get cheap and free hosts for PHP sites. You cna learn more about PHP at http://php.net/. Here are my collection of the comparison between PHP and ASP.NET, this will help you to decide which one to go for, * WebProNews : ASP vs. PHP * netconcepts : PHP versus ASP comparison * PRECISION : PHP and ASP.NET Go Head-to-Head * Oracle Technology Network (OTN) : PHP vs. ASP.NET Redux * builder au : PHP, ASP or ASP.NET?
