Your own MMO, what the? Also when talking about programs, Eclipse reminds me of Java Which can do a bit more than this thing. But I digress. Why would anyone want to waste their time with this? Building something really fun won't happen, and it's not as if you'll learn programming right now. ATM studying java by making some 2D adventure game though, I may use some sprites If I do, thanks for the link. With these 'gamemaker' things or actual coding? Don't fool yourself. I'd think those people would be toughest to get them play the game as they have much better alternative options. A fun experiment? Perhaps. But I don't really see the glory in this. If you really need a 2D MMO check out Maplestory.

Been using Vista for 2 years now, and ever since RC1 haven't gotten a single BSOD. And I did use it with a lot of pressure, various things going on.Really glad with Vista. OS I work the fastest and most efficient on by far. If I had a computer with lower resources than this high-end PC I'd most likely use Linux, but definitely not now.

Love these games, very addictive. Although I stopped doing that a while ago as I do have it busy. Can act in a small window on one of the screens in a corner, as an interactive lava lamp replacement. I did have kewl screenshots but can't find them at the moment; and it is unlikely I'll go upload new ones now or seek the old ones

If you're only going to post that in Windows topics as support, I'm inclined to classify you as a troll. This was a bad troll even. 1/10 Had it for a while too. What I did was merely change the power options in Control Panel to never go in standby. Although it still does go in standby; it allows me to regain the PC in merely second. Have a little fun with those options.

Tried FlashXP (which I use remotely on one of the PCs), Filezilla, SmartFTP ...All decent browsers, though my preference lies with Smartftp. Nice interface, fast, clean; has all the features I need such as automatic connecting.

Firefox 2/IE7: Beware Of Using Password Manager
Alegis replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Software
I do use the password manager, but stopped using addons such as gmail notifier for firefox (got the desktop one from google instead) as other addons would have been able to access my gmail login info then.Well. I'm not using virus scanner and the likes either as I know what I'm doing, which sites I visit - so I'm not panicking. They'll fix this soon enough. Eitherway I love the password manager. -
PS2 will still get great games. But if you're eager for new exciting games like assassins' creed, it is time to move on! However, I think the Xbox 360 makes a much much wiser choice than PS3. Much. For all their arrogance, they have lost all the good exclusives. Don't blindly pick a PS3. Check the games. The launch line-up of PS3 is dissapointing. Sure there is Resistance: Fall of Men, but it isn't a killer-ap. X360 shouldn't give you a lesser experience. It is much cheaper, with your choice to get the HD DVD (rather than shoved down your throat). Games that are $30 now are full price for the PS3 (55+) which is even more cash lost. and for what? So you have a 'cell processor' with no better games to play on?

Way too bring up very old stuff :)Wasn't that funny anyways though. As lame as the "omg you're getting a virus" .gif 's.It's as if some stranger speaking spanish is sending you britney_spears_naked.jpg___________.exe

What I think, is that Linux needs to get more graphical. I don't believe in this virtual OS. It shows though from my Beta Programs I do like Microsoft programs (as many do but claim otherwise) and Vista is incredible - OS wise.Online office programs did not replace the standard software ones (writely vs Microsoft office). If not for even something as small, I have no expectations for other systems.

Ah rejoice! I am so happy! Today I got to try out The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Wii. It was 'only' a little dungeon level but I loved it. I'm hyped. Ordering Wii monday. Haven't been anticipating a game like that for a long time! Controls are smooth. While I had some problems at first when switching to bow, one will get the hang of it quick. Sword moves are coolest, shaking right hand and nunchuk voor the spirl moves. The bow aiming didn't go as quick as I thought, but faster than with the analog stick anyways. After a while I think you'll make your own gestures like pulling your bow. Fishing also takes longer than I thought, you need to turn the nunchuk for quite a while before you can land your fish. The monsters resemble those a bit from Wind Waker, as well as that little explosion effect when they die. There are a set of finishing moves, which are done neat. The boss, Pyrus, was the same as E4 demo I think. Not too difficult, as I got to see the trick anyways from the people in the line before me. I had to get used to switching actions though - I messed up until I had only a quarter of a heart over and then dealt all the damage. The guy is cool; although lack of dialogue of course, walks around a bit on fire. I won't spoil any more other than I like the setting in the game like this a lot. I got hyped, so I thought I'd play Majora's Mask again (ported version for gamecube, came with system). I quit playing it a year ago because I got stuck at a nasty water boss. Played again for 3 hours, and in the end when the timer began to tick with 2 minutes left I began to give up all hope. Then in the end again with only a quarter HP made it. Damn I felt so relieved - continuing it soon. Lots of work to catch up to PIX! You bastard. OH MAN. I wasn't too sure about getting a Wii this soon, but the controls feel nice, and this is the ultimate party console to me. Haven't really invited many friends over for stuff like mario kart (which is insane fun); but I plan to do so more often for Wii. And haven't been excited for a game like Twilight Princess for a long time. Never played ocarina of time or majora's mask before wind waker, absolutely loved wind waker; while other zelda fans may complain it wasn't as good as ocarina of Time "back then" on the N64. Guess I had an advantage I don't think any fans will be disappointed by the controls, on the contrary. And the Wii is looking mighty fantastic; pre-order time along with Twilight Princess and request review samples from Ubisoft. Aaaah Gyorg.

Finally the news and trailers start pouring in, and I'm mighty excited. If I'm not getting a Wii, i'm getting the game on Gamecube. Eitherway, I am going to play this action adventure game that is looking sweet. I absolutely loved The Wind Waker and this one aspires to be much greater. Now many whined that WW wasn't that good as compared to the old ones, but I couldn't really finish those. WW introduced dungeon portals, which was the reason why I didn't finish Majora's Mask. People shouldn't compare these anymore to their young experiences back then with Ocarina of Time. Live in the present peeps, WW can hardly be called bad. So you can prefer another product, that's fine. But that doesn't force you to hate the previous. I use firefox, but don't hate IE. They made some very good improvements from their abandoned version - it's good that other products made them awaken from their slumber.Firefox isn't godlike. I need to use IE regularly for a certain page to download something properly. Sure, means that FF doesn't support all pages and vice versa, but by not using IE at all you're nerfing yourself.

Reread the first post, or sparkx (who did admit never played the game yet made such a statement anyways). Now rethink that statement. Their criteria for their reviews were way too superficial. As well as comparing Azeroth to runescape, it showed ignorance. The only similiar point is that it is an RPG with levels. A misinterpretation from your part that shows you did not really read my post. MMOrpg. GW is an RPG. Not an MMO because everything is instanced to little servers like diablo. Diablo is not an MMOrpg either. Notice how I put the emphasis on MMO. Massive multiplayer online. The massive is definitely missing, as well as immersion in the map where movement and skills are very limited. Now you're comparing the single-player aspects of very good RPGs (which I do know about and played) to an MMORPG. I'm wondering where you are heading; but this shows limited knowledge of MMOs. Of course it is much easier to implement the role you play in a SP and change the world. In MMO it is as co-op (compare to dungeons such as Blackwing Lair. Oh wait, everyone here that rated WoW lvled to 10 or something. This isn't about me defending WoW; which I wouldn't care to do; but show the superficial arguments used for comparison or at least the lack of mentioning the ignorance of what WoW is. I do not review a game after only playing it 10 seconds. Notice that the average player of WoW is not a teenager with too much spare time, it can be played by many different people (usually adults which can raid until late in the night). With Burning crusade and such it is made much more casual friendly (25man instead of 40 and such), which is a good thing methinks but I won't be playing it again as I'm too busy with other stuff to indulge myself again in ANY mmo. Was against it too at first, but makes sense. No use in adding new classes. See, for Guild Wars you can just add some class for pvp that uses some new skills. In WoW it is extremely delicate because of the dungeons, pve encounters and loot distribution. It is nowhere like Guild Wars where you just spam one of 8 spells while standing on a target that is announced. Mob hitting you? Just run away. Aggro control is too limited to really make it fun. Making the factions equal allowed them to better balance dungeons. Anyways, I liked it more if it were more to the lore. "Stealing the light" or space shamans sounds as ridiculous to me as to you. But how things were heading with the dungeons, it was too tough to keep up. If I were playing i'd preferred a different solution. But the shamans or paladin thing is irrelevant; lore got strengthened in many other ways. This lore ****up is the sole exception. Well, meant not in extra expansions such as Guild Wars. Burning Crusade adds much more than a GW anyways. You are right I was unclear in that aspect. Paying monthly for games means servers and securing game's maintenance. If it weren't for the updates I wouldn't have played for more than 4 months. yes, soccer and sports are fun. But don't join game discussions and tell people to play soccer :\

What a horrible copy paste from http://www.bentuser.com/(X(1)S(wldlqzbcn5xipq55fsozj555))/article.aspx?ID=311&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 . Try to post something meaningful next time. This was too obviously copied, and out of date. None of them are beta right now.

That must be the dumbest thing I've read all week. It truelly is sad when people only rate a game based on its price, deem its way too expensive and can't explain why it is so immensely popular. Because after all, the game is expensive? I had the best game experience ever while playing it, and you can easily keep yourself occupied with only WoW. I played it for about 2000 hours, with an account I can still sell. I spent around 200€ on it. 4 times the price of a normal game. Thing is, I don't ever play a normal game for 500 hours. I think my second most game I played was around 350 hours. The extra content they released so far (for free you dipshits, they're not as greedy as some claim here to be) was definitely worth it as well. They keep expanding and adding stuff on top of your monthly subscription. The content added to guild wars makes me laugh. I do own the game but didn't like it as much after playing WoW. I don't consider GW a MMORPG either, everything is instanced with max 8 players and combat too straightforward and very easy. Limited role. Dungeons are by far the same scope as WoW. When a product grants you something others just can't, price comparisons are out of the question. You're just a bunch of poor teenagers whining if that is the only gripe or fact worth considering of this game. What WoW delivered gentlemen, was role-playing at last. And with that I don't mean pretending you're a Warrior of the Order of the Silverhand and chatting as such; but the dungeons/instances/world. The PvE encounters supress the other games BY FAR. Comparing it to runescape is something that can only be done by ignorant idiots that just state stuff without bearing the slightest knowledge of both games. I'm not stating all should love WoW. I'm stating you shouldn't make ridiculous comparisons on games just like that. You must be joking. There isn't a general storyline, its dozens and dozens of great storylines in this game as it is a world. The storylines from warcraft are all there. Moron. Personally I loved the storylines in smaller overlooked dungeons as well, Razorfen Downs, Deadmines, Stratholme ... They are all documentated with various conversations and in-game books etc. Deadmine story is all integrated in the country Westfall. It is unfair to compare Diablo and WoW by storyline as WoW just stumps Diablo as it should, it is a MMORPG. That is another superficial remark. It looks cartoony, correct. However, graphics include a lot of other aspects. The world, animation, immersion. For example; guild wars. Agreed, the models of GW definitely look better. Playing in the world however, does not. Each tree in WoW is unique for example, the lands aren't as flat as in other mmorpgs; it feels like different areas. GW maps however is just running down a path of open lands in a spiral. You can't jump somewhere off. Combat is usually done standing. You can't just fly over a land to someplace. I think the world feels a lot better in WoW to chars than the desert path looking Guild Wars. Consider the other stuff than just model polygons.

I don't play flashgames, but I reckon I heard a lot addictinggames.com was good. There also used to be a website with a domainname in the lines of 'digggames.com' that listed all the flash games that ever appeared on digg.com. Site still exists somewhere, I'm sure you'll find it on a search engine.

All New Gmail Chats Feature
Alegis replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I must say, I first thought this was lame. Because it would never replace MSN for me. It has proven to be very useful. Adding contacts to MSN is considered, close. You only do it for those you wish to chat a lot with, or from time to time. Not just for a quick message. I exchanged several mails now with people in the past and they got added to gchat immediately. It was certainly helpful to say a few msgs right away without having to add etc. And subtle too. . Definitely useful as more start using the service. -
Been following Project Offset for a while. Or at least, trying. It has INCREDIBLE potential. I love the idea of uniting FPS and RPG like this, its the ultimate game marriage. however, news is slow. It's indie. I have doubts of it coming out, or at least.. coming out soon or even a fraction of the potential it shows. Hope it gets more people, a publisher and get the factory going. If only more news were made available.

Ah, the fifa merchandise. Actually Fifa 07 is being released soon for almost all consoles. I think even all (incl handheld) except PS3. Anyways. It depends on taste. World Cup plays with national teams in WC style, Fifa with of course the Champions League and such. Fifa Manager is supposed to counter the other Soccer Manager game which name I forget atm. But was better. Anyways, its more out of style. Manager plays like coach, others as the players.

How To Make A Game-related Signature Not to hard
Alegis replied to Sizux1405241516's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
This is more common sense, is it not? And just 'cropping'. Don't really need a guide for that when you tell someone what cropping is. Cutting a piece of an image. Yet, for those with not much experience editing simple is powerful. Usually better without text -
Check forums check forums repeat Seriously; I should stop myself from refreshing them too often. When I boot up though I think first things I do are: -log in GMail notifier -If new mail, check. -log in MSN -fire up X-Chat 2 IRC (although I forget to do this often until later in cycle) -Browse on firefox. Fora, Digg.com ... -Launch Xfire and game -Check for game videos to add to Game website ... Some gaming and other stuff woven in between. Now it is 0:33 am, lessons at univ later yet going to pull an allnighter learning java or something. Whee!

I'm very curious to the changes. Anyone stumbled upon a sneak preview/changelog yet? It sure is costly to improve, and not always justified. Although the resize options in CS2 looked nice I had no need for it.

To be honest, this isn't a good guide (if it can even be considered one). You find the answer much faster by typing it in the windows help than to decypher what is written here.Try paragraphs, and proper terms.
