  1. This is a post that I can relate to, as my mother was in hospital for over a year, in a situation which was awful. She had little comprehension of her surroundings, and physically was a mess. Both myself and my father wished for her to be put out of her misery, but there was no way it could be done. Thankfully she finally died, and I say “thankfully” simply because, knowing my mother, she would not have wanted to live (if what she was doing could be described as living) as she was.I believe that, if the quality of life for a person has descended to a level which they, and those close to them, know will not improve, then they have the right to die in some sort of dignity, after all, we in the West are supposed to believe in freedom of choice, but, if faced with the greatest of all choices, to live or die, the individual has no choice whatever.
  2. Vash, please read what it says on the site.It states that the the shuttle add-on does NOt include the base for levitating, and in order to levitate the thing, you must buy the base with clock seperately.Total price: $114.98. People should always read the small print!!
  3. The price is $114.98 plus postage & handling, so I guess it's a little expensive eh?
  4. According to this report on ZDNet Macs are easy to get into, as there are LOTS of unpublished vulnerabilities, and Macs are "easy pickings". It appears that the main reason Macs are safer is merely because they are such a small segment of the computer market.
  5. I said 2 Gods, simply because the two books in the Bible would appear to have completely different Gods, as I wrote. The God of the old testament comes across as cruel, harsh vindictive etc. He wipes out towns and villages, kills, or orders thousands of people, inspires fear and hatred, and, in what must be one of the most disgusting and sick things ever written, tells a man to prove that he believes in him, by killing his own son!!However, the God of the New Testament appears to have undergone a personality change! According to the Christ, God has become loving and caring, full of compassion etc. Indeed, the two personalities of God are at odds with one another, in a human, it would be called schizophrenia This is why I said 2 Gods, sorry if I wrote and did not explain what I meant properly.
  6. For the followers of the Christian faith, it must be difficult to know which God is the right one. The Old testament God is cruel, vindictive and bloodthirsty, the New testament God is loving and caring. So, which one do you follow? And, how do you reconcile the two Gods? After all, he/she/it cannot change, as it goes against the whole concept of a Godhead, or is/was there really two gods?
  7. I have had a look at it, and personally I think it will be ideal for those people who do not know anything about html, but who would like some sort of website.100 mgs size though I think is odd, when you consider they give you 2gbs for your email, I would have thought it better if it was the other way round, a website with 2gbs would be better.
  8. British "historian" David Irving has been jailed for 3 years in Austria, for denying the Jewish holocaust happened. How does this sit with the West's regard for Free Speech? If we want free speech, should that not include saying what we think, even if it is *BLEEP*? Or does free speech mean only if we agree with what is said?
  9. Mozilla is not very good, it's slow, and personally I don't need all the "extras" that it has. As usual, a great many people use it because it is not Microsoft, and it's cool to be anti-microsoft.I much prefer Opera as a browser, it's the fastest out there. As for their mail programme, well, you have to be joking, it's absolute rubbish.

  11. The first virus for Macs has appeared on the scene. Known as Leap - A, it is a low level threat, but almost certainly the harbinger of future threats. For years, Mac users have claimed the o/s to be safe and secure, with no virus problems, even 'tho the reason for that was simply because of the small amount of users, not the difficulty of creating a virus for the o/s.Now, as with Firefox, as the number of users grows, so the creators of virus , malware etc will begin to target the Mac.
  12. Now Gmail have added their messenger to the service I imagine that they would become more popular then ever. The new messaging looks really good, and as you can combine it with your GMail account, it will make keeping in touch easier, as it will all be in the same window.
  13. Recieving stolen property is a criminal offence, regardless of knowledge of said crime or not.
  14. Well, it had to happen one day, and I think that this is just the thin end of the wedge, eventually, we will all have to pay to use email. For those of you who think it will not happen, ask yourself: do you really think that something like the internet will remain free for ever? Companies see it as something to make money which isn't doing so at present, remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
  15. Well, these cartoons were published in Western papers, in Western countries, so should not be of concern to Muslims living in Muslim countries. Remember, we have what is called "freedom of the press" in Western society? If Muslims wish to peacefully demonstrate, or boycott a countires products because of these cartoons, well, that's fine, up to them, BUT to threaten death over it is way out of line, especailly from Muslims living in such Western countires.Something that I find ironic is that a Muslim will eagerly try to live in a Western country, which has values that he despises, and then complains about those values.
  16. I agree with poster #2, photobucket is not much use if you have a lot of photos, especially if they are large.
  17. I have my phone supplied by my employer, and only use it during working hours. The worst thing about them is how people use them wherever they are, showing no consideration for others. Eating out is now akin to eating in a phone boooth, you cannot watch a film without phones ringing, and as for using public transport.........Personally, I think they should be banned in all public places, like smoking.
  18. No contest, Office is so far ahead it's not funny. Actually Office is the best product M/S have, if only their o/s was as good!
  19. Strange how if IE is like F/F then it's a rip off, but when office suites are copes of M/S Office nothing is said.
  20. I'm testing it now, it does shut dopwn/start up quicky, but how long it takes will depend more on what you have installed with it, not so much the o/s itself. Judging by what I have here, it won't be available for at least a couple of months I would think.
  21. Try https://n'>Limaspace they offer 3gb free, and appear to be pretty good. I've been using them for two months now, and have had no problems. You could also try https://p'>Esnips, they ofer 1gb free, and also appear fairly good.
  22. Well, I'm testing it now, and it's pretty stable actually.
  23. Hmm, do you really think that once (or IF) unix ever gets good enough for most people it will remain free??? No effing way!!!
  24. To be honest, the only thing that surprises me about the above posts is that the posters seem surprised with Google and their ilk!Electronic communication is a boon the users, BUT it is also a boon to governments, as it is a lot easier to track email than it is "snail mail". (the same goes for mobile phones as opposed to landline phones).Large corporations and companies will work with governments quickly enough, which you should know if you did history at school or college, so why are you surprised at this latest news?
  25. derouge,Please be so good as to name a few millionaires who have joined the army to serve in Iraq????????
