  1. Well, for those who are followers of the God in the bible, the answer to this problem is clear:If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of the town. They shall say to the elders, 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard.' Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death...Deuteronomy 21:18-21
  2. Try adding a gateway router, it helps a lot I found. Also I use Avorox Shield as an extra aid.
  3. MS Office is vastly superior to any other suite, however, for general home use I think open office is more than adaquate.MS Office is much more business aligned, being so powerful it is ideal for business, but here at home I use open office.
  4. I use Sygate firewall, along with both Avast & Antivir anti virus progs. All 3 are freeware, and seem to keep me fairly safe from all the nasties out there on the net.I tried all the firewalls, and Sygate works best for me.
  5. Here's a few I use: Faststone Image viewer. Erasor Completely erases files from your computer. Dup detector Finds duplicate images on your hard drive. Restoration Restores files deleted from the recycle bin.
  6. Hi, I'm new here, joined because I wanted the ad-free hosting, but have already found the forums to be of use, so pleased about that.I live in Austrlalia.Hopefully I will be able to contribute something of use to the boards, I guess we'll see over the coming months if I do or not eh?

  8. With billions of galexies and universes "out there", surely the odds of us being the only intelligent life is virtually non-existent?
  9. Well, what is a "miracle"? And have you ever seen one? You cannot expect science to have all the answers YET. Understand that we really have only been looking for answers properly for about 600 years, so please give us time! When scientists first started looking for answers, the world was regarded as flat, and was the centre of the universe. As I'm sure you are aware, that is not true, but it WAS true according to the churches.
  10. But how did you manage to delete it ? Did u install another defragging program instead or just removed them ?I wish I knew!!! I went to defrag, the system couldn't find it, and when I looked in the windows files, it wasn't there. I know I haven't uninstalled it personally, so to be honest it's a mystery to me.I will have a look in the folder you suggest, thanks very much for your help.
  11. I think a lot of the thinking behind this idea (and I do recall something like it being mooted by EUFA) is due to the amount of money in fooball nowadays.Getting into Europe is worth so much that a goal allowed or disallowed could make the difference between a club making extra millions. And certainly it would make the Man Utd "goal" mentioned a non event, which has to be good, surely?(lucky they didn't have this back in 1966 eh?)
  12. I too have seen a little of Vista, (a friend is a tester), and from what I swaw, it is much better than XP. If it is more stable he couldn't really say, but I would imagine that it will be, with the amount of people now willing to run Linux, Microsft must be aware that the new O.S. must be very stable.
  13. The concept of a "godhead" was for two reasons.1. To explain the unexplained.2. To give humans the ultimate hope, life after death. As science has come to find answers, religous belief has dropped accordingly, naturally enough. So the main hope left for religion is the everlasting life idea. ('tho I notice even the Pope wasn't too happy about going to a better place!)Belief in a god is like believeing in Santa Claus, or the fairies.
  14. Gmail drive. You can use your GMail account as an extra drive on your computer, useful for offline storage. http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm]
  15. Somehow, I have deleted the windows defrag programme.Any idea where, on the XP home edition CD I can find the file???I don't feel like re-installing XP if I can help it.
  16. This is good news, as in my humble opinion, Opera is by far the best browser out there. Pity that we who paid for it don't get our money refunded though!
  17. Whichever way you chose to do it, don't forget to BACK -UP!
