yordan replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
alternatively, you may go to https://www.dll-files.com/ and get each missing dll file. They claim So, when you will have got all your missing files, things could happen to work correctly. -
OOps ! I would never imagine a post having been alive such a long time !

By the way, in this hosting website we don't need the above process, we simply have to go to cpanel and click "install phpbb2"!

Help: Installing IE6 On FC5
yordan replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Er... Am I dreaming ? Are we talking about installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 on a Linux machine ? -
Just try to double-click on the tgz file, you will see if ubuntu installed all the necessary things in order to uncompress this tgz file.If not, I would suggest first, to put this file on a Microsoft Windows machine which has winrar installed, and then use winrar to uncompress the tgz file. Then, when uncompressed, you will probably see there a readme file explaining what to do exactly.RegardsYordanBy the way, how is your PC connected to that modem ? Through an Ethernet cable, or through an USB cable ?

Wondering If I'm Having A Code Problem Or If Its My Database
yordan replied to lonebyrd's topic in Programming
The old good tricks which stil work well : that's usually named "debugging" ; write down the queries and see if they give a correct result, and then put them in a program. Oh, remembering the old good ancient times! -
Some Fun With The Calculator Could this be maths?
yordan replied to Omkar™'s topic in Science and Technology
I am talking about the Calculator embedded inside Microsoft Windows. Of course, any calculator has the same principle. Simply, the way saying "you should not do that" differ from one device to the other one. For instance, you should not divide nothing by nothing. Only Jesus Christ did that, and he was allowed to do it only once. Now, it's a forbidden operation. By the way, you should first know hat you have to add, then add them. You should not say "divide A by B" without having priviously given a very precise value both to A and B.Regards Yordan -
20 Years From Now... Where do you see humanity?
yordan replied to Kyle Perkins's topic in Science and Technology
1 vs 4 is the simplest guessed way. As usual in human behaviour, and as it has been previously seen in huaman history, things will probably will be complicated by the 12 combinations of 1 vs (1 of the 4), which mathematically is (4*3*2)/2.Regards Yordan -
Some Fun With The Calculator Could this be maths?
yordan replied to Omkar™'s topic in Science and Technology
@szupie: the result is not an error, the result is exactly what is predicted by mathematics. Moreover, I get an english sentence saying namely that "the result is...."So, a message saying "you typed something wrong" is not an error, I guess the problem has a different solution. -
Wondering If I'm Having A Code Problem Or If Its My Database

Somebody more skilled shoud have a look at your code, but it seems that the supplied name is not in the atabase, so the number of answers does not exist. -
Remember that SQL supposed to be a "natural" (English) query langage. Looks like english words, supposed to be natural to every english-speaking guy. For instance, "insert into mytable values myname, myage".

If you job is 5 kilometers from your home, you may go by bike. If you have to go 50 kilometers, a car is safer and faster. By the way, trains and buses if existing are possible alternatives.

@organicbmx: The page you mentionned is enough, it gives the things to put in the X-Windows description precisely for this nVidia device. It should be enough if you are familiar with configuring X-windows in Lunux. if not, exactly as stated in the concerned page, you should use "XF86Config(5x) or xorg.conf(5x) manpages."

Mysql is a RDBMS (Relationnal Database Manager) system. It's free, so it's rather popular. It's competitors in the non-free world are named Oracle and DB2.For instance, if you choose to create your own forum or your own photo gallery here in the Xisto forum, using your cpanel controls, the instructions will be given in php language, and the data will be stored in a mysql database. You will probably find a lot of topics here at Xisto forum concerning mysql, and the reason to choose it rather than another database. You mainly need a database if ou need to store data, query data, retrieve data.Hope this helpedYordan

Very Addictive Ball Game Check this out (you need time)
yordan replied to signatureimage's topic in Computer Gaming
Nice game. Recommended for very patient people only. I destroyed my keyboard before the third page. -
Have a look here first : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

So, if you want to have a forum, you must find a host which has at least php support and mysql support. If this host is Xisto, you have pre-installed scripts in your cpanel. If you want a very simple php+mysql forum, you can use this one : http://www.ben3w.com/ It's really simple : download to your pc, upload to your site, and run install.php on your site.

Thanks for the link : their topic is really complete (including how to download the drivers), clear and easy with the examples.

winrar also knows how to manage the .rar or .gz files, you can get it at winrar.comYordan

Start at the nVidia site. Last time I had this type of problem, I searched the nVidia site, and found a page about the drivers for linux, the way to install them and the way to make them work. You will probably have to do complicated things in the X-Windows environments, or download Linux tools from the nVidia site in order to make the whole thing work. Last time I spent more than one week but at the end the thing worked (er... to be honest it did not really work because I had very old monitors with very poor graphic capabalities, but this is another story). Regards Yordan

Nice, works fine. I was able to use your login page and create your account, which gave me the opportunity to discover that I'm really a poor Trivia gamer.Yordan

So, seems that you have to learn now to configure Grub, on an already configured machine, in order to change the default booting operating system. You should first have a look at the Xisto tutorial section, I'm pretty sure the "how to change the grub settings" already has a topic. If not, this should be a suggestion for skilled people, they should urgently use this easy way of earning posting credits by means of writing a nicd tutorial. As hou have correctly guessed, I use Lilo. If I happened to have a Grub working machine, I woud do the following way. Look here : http://www.linuxmigration.com/quickref/kernel/grub.html You can also get more info on how configuring Grub here : https://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=how+togure+grub&meta=
