Capital Punishment Please vote and reply
Jeigh1405241495 replied to KonVicKt's topic in Science and Technology
I disagree with so many aspects of the legal systems in Canada/America (no I'm not saying they are the same, I just disagree with dif things about both). I think capital punishment should be in place, but only for heavily regulated pre-determined levels of crime. But frankly the way the systems are set up now I really think its best just to keep it out of the system, I mean I've heard of people going away longer for low end drug charges then for rape... to me thats just rediculous so who knows....not I thats for sure... -

I chose uni student, but I'm in a co-op program so I do classes for 4 months, work full time for 4 months (programming usually) then study 4 months, work 4 months, repeat until I graduate lol. Its a good deal, should acually have limited debt when its all over and have some good jobes lined up for full time when I'm done. Might fall through but it's looking promising currently. Wee.Currently I'm in classes but I start a C++ coding job in January w00 -
Half Life 2/Steam WTF? ....
Jeigh1405241495 replied to l337 Nurse Pedestrian's topic in Computer Gaming
if you have broadband steam is annoying but tolerable. if you have dialup I wish thee luck. I've gotten it into offline mode before when I was in places with dialup for awhile, buuuut it would randomly try to reconnect and freak out haha. Again, good luck and god speed :S -

Anyone Miss The Old Super Nintendo And Sega Games
Jeigh1405241495 replied to CroSpartacus's topic in Computer Gaming
Ah man, the old systems are where its at. Some of my earliest memories are gaming on the 'classic' systems. I still fire up the emulators on a regular basis just for some nostalgia. The old RPG's on the snes were amazing, Chrono Trigger completely owns me. Just hearing about it makes me wanna start playing thru it again. So yes, I miss the old systems, and now if you'll excuse me I must go fire up the emu's and get my up up down down left right left right b a on haha. -

I dont know if there is a true definition. If there was, it would probably include all that, just because definitions are usually made broad enough to not piss anyone off haha. But in reality alot of people, I think, differentiate between programming, scripting, etc. I could be wrong, but I doubt it, because I'm pretty awesome... -
The easiest way is to just use firefox so adding functionality is simple ;)sorry, couldn't resist haha. I actually think Opera is pretty nice but FF still manages to find ways to outdo it in my mind almost every time. But about your Q, doesn't opera have forums? I'd assume they'd be a better place to look then here, since the number of opera users isn't a huge percentage of the user base here probably...

The only real time I play any sports games is when I have some friends over (you know, other human beings you interact with on a regular basis...) Hockey games are the common fav with us (Canadians, go fig) but we like our basketball and football games too. Can't wait for the next gen worth of games, sports games always show up when we have parties right after Halo/2 hahaIn case you didn't notice I only mentioned sports, not specific games...mostly because I dont actually know what my favs are. I play whatever the person owns that I'm at there place... last sports game I actually owned myself was NHL Faceoff 98 (awesome game for the time lol, go playstation!).

Battlefield 2's ranking barely affects the game though... I mean you eventually unlock a second weapon set per class. So its not that big of a deal really. but then again the two games ARE very different in both speed, depth, and feel so I'd say they are both amazing but in different ways. Both are top of their respective types of FPS and both are worth giving a try.I love both, CS keeps pulling me back more often then BF2 but thats mostly because its easier to drop into for like 150-20 min at a time without losing any game quality. BF2 isn't as fun if you dont get used to your squad and whatnot, so it takes a bigger time donation. And I dont have much time for games right now so CS wins with me for the time being.

I've been considering picking up one or both of the City games... but I dunno, seems like I'd get too addicted and then sucked in and never escape from its grasp :| Or not, but its highly likely cause thats just how I am haha. Maybe in january once I'm on a work term so I dont have to worry about schoolwork I can get into it and it wont matter how much of my free time it sucks up. Wee

I would have to agree that B&W2 is amazing. I actually have enjoyed what I've played of it more then I did B&W1. While I havn't gotten to play all the way thru yet, I got bored of the first one way faster then this one. They kept all the cool aspects of being a god in this world and added a bunch of better aspects (like getting new buildings to create, the powers, upgrading the creature, teaching the creature to behave in way more precise ways, all that stuff). All in all I think it was a wonderful sequel to a wonderful game. Not to metnion how beautiful it all looks. The effects, the general look. Man zooming way out and way in is quite the rush when you realize how fluidly it all works. Takes a fairly adequate system to keep it pretty and smooth, but worth it.

Need Further Information On Bill Gates' Speech
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Kid Saiyan's topic in Science and Technology
I'll be happy to unbelievable extents once they rid the world of disks and cds and the like. All that 'portable' storage just annoys me. 50TB hard drives and blistering fast data trasnfers are more my style. Gates has a good idea YAY -

Mp3 Player-i Dont Wan Ipod do they have something other than Ipod?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to irwan6179's topic in Software
I need to get a bigger mp3 player so will probably get a 5gig+ model since there isn't much of a value if you get a small one anymore... for like 50 extra bucks you quadruple the storage... so yea I'll be getting 5+ at least. I know the iPod's seem to have the most consistently good reviews, but damn I just dont want one haha. Almost out of spite... I just have never loved there design like most people and they just dont seem to impress me much. Who knows, I might end up with one but will hopefully find something to replace it with as my next purchase. -

It's insane how little of a splash quake 4 made... I expected much more fanfare and whatnot but then one day I'm hopping around websites and it's like "Quake4 came out today"...I hadn't even heard anything for a month or two before that haha. Ah well, maybe they didn't wanna overhype this one like they did Doom 3. Meh. I might try it eventually

I've been looking for something to replace my *BLEEP* old 128mb one with. Wouldn't mind letting my Creative nomad be used only as a usb key and get a 5gig+ hd player. Gotta figure out if I'm getting a laptop first to decide how much I can spend on it, but well see how it goes. Hopefully I can get a zen or iRiver or some such, weee

OOOOOOOOH man talk about memories. Wolf ET is awesome fun, as well as Tribes. GTA/2 were awesome for their times, sooo many hours I let slip into their digital realms just driving around causing mayhem haha. I'll have to nab me some of those games. Even Zork has sucked hours of my life... but I dont think I could handle it nowadays haha. Not patient enough anymore.Havn't played a couple, but I'm sure they're all great since all their names are familiar to me. Especially AA, thats some high quality free **** right there. bit of a time donation to get into it, but once your in I know alot of people who love it endlessly.

I completely forgot this was comming out haha, I'll need to aquire a copy Can't wait, I was playing AOEII lately just out of the blue on an old comp I got stuck using for awhile and have the AOE bug again, I needs me the III!!!

Yea I would say just look through a few tutorials, and remember that typing man command will give you the manual for whatever command you give it, this helps alot if you like to explore things on your own.Few quick tips:ls - lists all files in current directoryrm/rmdir - remove a file or directory respectivly... DOES NOT GIVE YOU A "are you sure you want to delete?" type message. So be careful lol.cd directory will move you around the directories.so yes, read some tutorials, play around, and enjoy. Once you can use the terminal its got some awesome fun stuff to use
-
I hope to God you meant battlefield 2.... Battlefield2 can compete with CS.... BFront cannot. Sorry :|But yea, I play CS Source whenever I have the free time and feel like just messing around. I dont play seriously that often anymore haha, but me and a few friends often jump onto a server for a bit just to act like idiots but still hop to the top of our teams in minutes... yup...good times haha.

I like both depending on my mood haha. I used KDE when I first put linux on my box but then at school the comps were all gnome only until this year they loaded on KDE (if you dig enough haha). But yea both are good choices, KDE is good for when I want a more useable look but I often end up in gnome when I'm coding... I dunno the general feel just seems more work-ish to me or something.Fluxbox is also pretty nice for when you need a light interface on older hardware or whatnot.
