its illegal but i really wouldnt worry about it....even if you do contact the artist (whcih to me would seem virtually imposible...at the least very hard) they prolly wouldnt care but as has been said...even if a lot of people are going to be looking at it...no one will care...i mean, there is a lot of videos out there that people have used music and "I" have never "heard" of anyone getting into serious trouble over it...if any trouble....so i would say it would be fine

I am going to show you how to create this neat little shape trick i used in my sig my sig isnt the best, but i like the little trick i did with the shape...a lot of people have been asking me about it so i decided to write a tut on it. anyways. you want to start out with a blank page, so goto File->New (for all the n00bs) and you want your image to be 425 x 125 pixels (doesnt have to be but that is the sig size). now you want to use your fill tool, which is on the toolbar (which is on the left of your screen) it is a rectangle with a gradient pattern filled in it. now if you look at the top of your screen there is a properties toolbar that will let you adjust the properties of the tool. click the fill type. you want to change it to the square patter (you can still change it to whatever you want. select what ever color you want it to use, e.g. blue for foreground, white for background. and go to the stage and insert your fill effect, the tool has you draw a line...the longer the line the bigger the effect...the different angles of lines the different angles of effects...simple. with my sig i added an extra effect into this by using a filter...filter->render->difference clouds... now create a new layer by going layer->new layer and make the first layer (the one with the fill effect) invisiable (by clicking the eye on the layer). click layer two...the blank layer...to make sure you are editing that layer (although if you dont click it and you try to do sumtin it will just say that the layer you are trying to edit is invisible...so it wont do anything). now select the rectangle too...and select what color you want it to be and draw a rectangle the size of the sig. now show both layers by clicking the eye on layer 1 again. now you will see that you basicly have created a shape!...a 3d shape at that! ........ now to continue on with a tut of my sig....everything else i did was simple...i used a lens flare effect...filter->render->lens flare and set a flare on each corner of the square shape....only 1 corner...all the same side...and i made each flare decrease the brightness as it went back...then i added my name...and embossed it...although you dont really notice the emboss too much...and i colored it gray....beautiful ... and i ended up with this

in my experience i have had systems fry under 70 degrees....so i went into bios and changed the setting (which my bios supports - most should) so that if my cpu gets over 60 degrees it will automaticly shut down. i also use cpu cool and monitor it so that if it does get a little hot i can shut it down...or the program. anyways, i have also had problems with xp cds bringing up that error saying that there is a missing system file. it is not the cd, however, it is the cd drive. every time i had that error. it was usualy on an older cd drive (mostly burners) and i just replaced with a newer better drive and it worked fine. as for your overheating problems. you said you took it into a shop. you might want to check to see if they attached the heatsink properly. and if all your fans are working. my p4 almost got fried just because the cpu fan came unplugged, got to almost 80 degrees, and i have about 5 fans in my system. but just try replacing the cd drive...even if its only for the installation of windows. and check the heatsink and fan....hope that helps

i was messing around in photoshop cs2 the other day, encouraged by some of the tut's on sigs....and well...i came up with this i think it looks good...there are a few problems that come to my eyes that i want to fix later today. such as the text to me is kinda bland...i was thinking of adding a backdrop to it or maybe emboss it....i think the backdrop would be better...more suttle. also on the right side you cant really see the 3 pix boarder so i wanted to put something over there that would britten it up...idk what though...but a little messing around could uncover sumtin good.... the shape on the left was made with two layers...for the top layer i did a fill effect in which it left the little square outlines transparent (dont remember what that fill effect is called) but it looked neat, the original color was a lighter blue, so i used a filter...difference clouds so it wasnt just one bland color. it came out a little darker as i wanted. if you look close you can see the patches of color variations (i like it much better than a flat color) then for the second layer i just created a rectangle the size of the sig and colored it purple (made a good accent with navy blue) and i did do a little brushing (dont remember what brush but it was a grunge type one...) but i blurred it so it didnt pop out soo much...so you dont really notice it...you could actually just skip the brush and just blur the color. but with those two layers it created a nice little shape for my sig....then i used the lens flar filter to get the shine on the shape to give it some pazazz....i started with the flar at 100% then dropped back by 10% each time i went back to the middle of the shape...the very middle of the shape is only 50%...it looks better than having them all the same flar...gave it some shape...at least i think it did. then, cause i dont like doing pixel work in cs2, i went into paint and added the ever popular three pixel boarder. overall i think it looks pretty good for being just a spontaneous sig...had no idea what i was doing...just messing around in cs2. this isnt the first sig ive done...but it is certainly the best. i found this other really neat effect that i want to make a flash animation out of and use it on my site...or possibly my sig ....it is a diffusion blur or sumtin like that ...it is under filter->distort->and it is the first effect....but i had a background pic i found off of wincustomize.com that i was messing around with and i used this effect on it. if you set the graininess to 0 and the last slider to 20 (cant remember what it is) and mess with the second one...you can create this bomb like effect in which it looks like someone set off an atom bomb in your pic....then if you set the middle bar to 20 and mess with the last slider....it can turn the pic completely white with the same effect....i started making each pic and importing into flash...but i kept messing up. i have to start with a blank pic each time otherwise it will carry the effect over and make it go faster and not as smoothly....but i hope that i can get that done soon too... then ill post it later... i also want to do some tuts on the sig and possibly the bomb animation what do you guys think ? am i a n00b?

i was looking at some of these photoshop tuts here yesterday and i liked yours the best. there were some other great ones too but yours just had the simplicity of a great sig....so i started messing around in photoshop cs2 today and last night and i came up with what i think is a pretty cool sig...i like it...

I have a total of four computers, all of which i have networked together, one is my main computer with the best specs, the others i just map the drives and use them for storage and troubleshooting.my main computer specs are:-p4 2.8 (overclocked to 3.44 at 160 x 21.0)-512 ddr ram (pc2100)-2 40gig hard drives for storage and one 6 gig hard drive for os (not including other hard drives mapped - 2 20's, 3 6's, a 10, and a 3)-geforce 5200 fx 128mb-windows xp professional dual booted with linspire 5.0-hp cd burner (waiting to upgrade to dl dvd burner - only 50 bucks)-15" crap monitor (but i dual monitor with my tv which is a 27")-use mainboard sound card and plug a boston system into it (nothing special but better than regular speakersthe other three computers i have are basicly junk....they consist of either a pII or a celeron that is only about 400mhz with 192mb sdram just enough to run xp pro...all i do with those is network them and map the drives. i usually use them for troubleshooting peoples computers once in a while...

a friend of mine was browsing the internet for some alternative os'es that imitate windows....he found this one, ReactOS. it is an operating system somewhat like lindows/linspire...it will run all your windows programs and i believe linspire programs. it comes with some basic software built in (but not much, considering its only 10mb).... some screenies so...as you can see with the screenshots, it apparently runs some basic programs (that i definatley have problems installing under linux) like winrar, windows games, word 2003...and linpsire applications like open office dot org (im not actually sure if thats the windows version of oodo but...yeah...it also has tux paint...so idk). but for only a ten mb download....this looks like a powerfull operating system that i will definatly be messing around with for a while and of course...if youd like to download and try this new os here are some links Live Cd Iso Image Preloaded with Qemu

i am using windows xp pro and linspire 5.0 havent had much chance with it...but the firmware works fine...i just cant figure out how to boot from cd rom with the thing....the last card i had it found the cd in the drive and said to him a button...this one, says that its found the cd and that its going to load it with non-emulation and then says to push a button to restart and just does that every time....its stupid, i went into the config panel for it and they dont have any special settings like my old one. this one is newer but i cant figure the damn thing out it is making me mad. and i need it to work, i had all my hd images on the scsi hard drives and now i cant access them!i havent had a chance to load windows to see if windows supports this scsi adapter, it didnt support my last one. but you never know, sometimes they do sometimes they dont....

i just bought this really nice scsi adapter card from a store off of ebay. it is a scsi adapter and has a network adapter built in....the company said they cant give out drivers....so i have been trying to find them on my own...with no luck...on the bottom of the card it says intraserver in big letters....so thats the company great. but internet search results dont bring anything up for it and i cant find the model number....a bunch of other numbers but nothing that will give me a driver. and driverguide.com doesnt have any scsi cards by intraserver and i cant find anything stating that someone might have bought them out (considering that the card was made in 1999) s/n ad01068p/n 6110u2 (did search with this....product number - nuttin)rev: a01some other barcode thinger with number - 356-0003725flash chip number: lsi 53c895and sum other chip: iti-100114i need help though...i am pretty sure that the number i need to search for is the p/n but nothing is comming up !

i cant deny that i use microsoft windows...cause i do, i actually have every version of windows (from 1 - vista beta) and i only use windows xp pro. but i dont really like windows, windows has a lot of problems...i suppose lots isnt the best word...maybe countless is a better word. i could list a few:1) competitors software doesnt work well with windows2) windows comes with spyware on install cd (alexa spyware - monitors and reports back to microsoft your surfing habits)3) windows comes with anti-virus software made by microsoft - which cant protect your computer if the virus was competent4) you get a virus within a few minutes of being online with windows because of (3)5) all the software that windows includes (e.g. messenger, I.E., Outlook, Works/Office) is all made by microsfot and their programs are made to run on windows, yet their programs take up twice as much memory as their compettitors programs (both with ram and hard drive space) because their software comes with all this extra crap that the average user would never think of touching.6) there are innumberable viruses out there for windows (in fact each hour of each day someone has written a new virus for windows)7) the sole purpose of windows (microsoft) is to make money. they do not put the user first when it comes to their software. competetitors do and their os's are better (e.g. linux based off of unix - open source - user comes first...and is a whole lot better)8) bill gates suxs ...i could come up with a whole lot more and with proof to back it up...how many times a day does your windows computer fail to meet your needs because of windows and because its a piece of **** os...but i still cant get away from the fact that it is one of the easiest os's to use...and i still use it every day...and probably will untill linspire 5.0 comes out...which is in about, wow, a few hours

i accidentally fried the 2mb dram stick i had in my scsi pci card...i was messing around with a 1 slot to 2 slot fan converter and it touched the scsi card and fried the dram...i dont know where to get any...it is old, id say about 5-7 years old...it is only D Ram and its only a 2mb stick...and it is only for the scsi pci adapter made by adaptec....i tried sdram in there 32mb....it didnt work...obviously...but has the same pin configuration in it...help please...i love my scsi

i love it...i am going through an a+ certification class right now (pointless...i am teaching them **** to begin with) and they have three trainers, with 40 gig hard drives in each. at the end of last year they busted all three trainers....so i went and fixed one, and since all three have the same exact **** in them, i imaged the 40 gig hard drive, restored the image onto three 6 gig hard drives and replaced each 40 gig hard drive with my 6 gig...so i just traded 18 gigs for 120 gigs...and their trainers are fixed plus they have no idea what happened :blink: i am the mannow i have a total of -3 40 gig hard drives-3 9 gig scsi hard drives-2 20 gig hard drivesand i am getting a 10 gig a 6 gig and a 2 gig from a friend for 5 bucks...that would be killer008r thasts giving me these...but i had to trade him a 40 gig for a fan so i technically only have 2 40 gigs...its great...i will be putting the 2 40 gigs along with the 2 gig and my scsi into my big tower server (2 gig has os and 2 40 gig and 3 9gig scsi for free space). then i will put the 6 gig and the 2 20 gigs into my mid tower for networked drives....so technically i will have a total of 9 drives...i also have an apple drive that i have to mod into the big tower...dont have time yet...but i will get to it...it is great

i definatly like having more hard drives instead of one big hard drive with several partitions. first of all, with those several partitions, the drive (to me) seems to slow down a lot. having all those hard drives (with different data on each drive - as sum of you had questioned) it goes a lot faster and smoother transition (especially with three of those drives being scsi ). i am willing to sacrafice quiteness for the speed. and i have no problem with heat, with the ten fans inside of the system it stays at a nice cool 27c. just yesterday i was usuing ghost to back up my data (which i actually do almost everyday - because i am changing everything so often) on one of my ide 20 gigs (i believe 15 gigs was being used) and it was saving the image onto a scsi - it took less than half an hour. i did a test (or so you could say) and went onto my other computer (which is actually networked to my server) and i have two ide in there and i used ghost to back up my system drive (which is a 6 gig but was only using 2 gigs - just windows installed + ghost) and saved the image onto the other 6 gig ide which was empty and it took about 15 minutes just to image 2 gigs of data....compared to 15 gigs but w/e...personally i will always have networks and multiple drives instead of partitions. it is faster!

no it actually doesnt make a lot of noise, and i believe you can download programs that will allow you to have more than that ammount of drives on there by assigning more drive letters (actually numbers or double letters or sumtin...i dont quite remember).

yes it is taking up a lot of voltage, but hey, with the server having two power supplies i am fine ;) .... i am working on some other smaller servers to network to and troubleshoot computers...i just finished my unattend cd for xp (using nlite ) so that all my drivers and apps are automaticly loaded...baby...

i have a total of eight hard drives in my computer ;) i am very happy to say that. i have a server case, duh. three of the hard drives are scsi each drive is 9 gigs...yeah i know...so thats 18 gigs total. then i have four ide hard drives which is 2 20 gigs and 2 6 gigs for a total of 52 gigs...so 18 + 52 is 70 gigs yeah ....then i have a mac hard drive in there that is only 1 gig...i use that for my paging file...so 8 hard drives for a total of around 70 gigs. then i have an ide controller with 2 cd drives on there (one burner the other just a cd drive) and i have a cd scsi drive in there as well...my case is totally full...not to mention that i tossed ten fans into the thing. i have a cpu fan, three in the front of the case, one on the side of the case, three in the power supply, and two on the back of the case. it is a wonderfull system that is dual booted with xp and vista beat. ;)is that crazy everyone thinks so...yeah...even i do...

well, i went into another forum (one for xbox) and they mentioned a bunch of stuff that made sense...i was kind of pondering this thing some more too, they mentioned the xbox hard drive is under a different file system (called fatx) ive never heard of it but i figured that the xbox might have a differnet file system. and they also were mentioning stuff about if you want to switch the hard drives you need to have a mod chip in the xbox (well i dont). but they didnt really direct these points to my question (forum sucked) they just kinda told stories about what they did to their xbox's and how. so...i didnt get a lot of help there. i am going to go ahead and try cloning the hard drive and puting the clone into the xbox and seeing what that does for me...

yes, that is true, i probably should find a better forum (not that i dont love Xisto) but i was just asking. but if i use norton ghost wouldnt (even if there is a checksum) the xbox think that it has the original hard drive in the system and therefore work normaly.

i stamped this into the hardware section, i couldnt find anything on xbox hardware or nuttin. hopefully this is the right spot. anyways, i took apart my xbox the other day too fix the power supply (the recall came on systems made during a certain period, mine wasnt made then), but it still had the problem. i had contacted microsoft about it and i was pissed, they said they couldnt do nuttin about it because my warenty had been voided or some crap like that. so i decided to fix it myself. i had taken the thing apart and fixed it (soldered wires back together...thats all it took) and was starting to put it back together when i thought. the xbox has a 40 gig hard drive (right ?) i have 52 gigs in my computer (2 20gig and 2 6gig) it would be easier to have one big hard drive then a bunch of smaller ones. and i dont use that much space on my xbox (not even 6gigs). so couldnt i just pop the xbox hard drive into my computer on slave and make an image of it and then put that image onto one of my smaller hard drives (say a 20 gig) and then pop that 20 gig into the xbox ?...then i would have 60 gigs on my computer with only two hard drives and still have 2 drives to spare.... has anyone done this, would this work. seems to me that it would work. i mean...the image would keep everything thats on the hard drive and put it on the other one. WOULD IT WORK ?

specs hp pavilion 520n celeron 1.3ghz 60gig hd 512mb ram everything is onboard has windows xp professional sp2 (yeah sp2 sucks) information it isnt actually my computer, it is my neighbors. my brother was on it and apprently from what he told me the thing just quit on him while he was playing games (online gay games - like collapse). but he is a little kid and doesnt know anything. but as far as i know, it shut off, not going throught shut down process. screen went blank. no error messages, blue screen, ect. when you turn it back on. the computer will turn on. lights will be on, fans dont work (feels like p/s fan is working but doesnt sound like it or look like it.) the hard drive disc are spinning but the monitor isnt picking anything up. doesnt get anywhere. discs arent being used. i thought that it might be the power supply (i wasnt only one, some of my friends backed up my decision), replaced the p/s and that didnt do anything. then my computer did somewhat the same thing. i was playing nfsu2 and it just shut off. then when i turned it back on (overheated so i waited a day before turning it on) but nothing was turning. so i modded a fan into the side of the case for better circulation. then took out battery and turned it on and it worked fine, replaced batter and everything was great. so i tried that with the hp, didnt work. i dont know what is up. we are starting to think that it might be the hard drive, but that still doesnt make any sense with it just qutting like that. and with nothing going on inside kinda makes me wonder if there was a power surge that might have fried a few things.... idk...please help, this computer has my neihbors work on it! - thanks

all the next gen consoles sound great (altough not much have been released on them). i have been keeping up on my reading about them here in the forums and i have heard many great things about all of them (mostly rumors). i own/ed and xbox and i loved it. i think the xbox is still way better than the ps2 or gamecube. sure there are games out there that are better for one system than the other. but the console itself is just better. but the next gen, i think im gonna make a switch to ps3 considering what ive heard over the couple months. there are speculations about the backwards compatibility of the xbox 360 and to me, the three (only three that ive seen) released screenshots arent that great to begin with. but the ps3's screenshots were amazing. the specs on the system are great. (about the same as all the other consoles - not too much difference) the design of the case is awesome as well. and wireless controllers !! (i believe all three systems are going to have wi-fi ... but o well ). playstation has always seemed to be one step ahead of the game too. xbox (being microsofts first console) probably came about as close to the finish line with playstation as possible. but i dont think they are going to be able to do it again. and the revolution, they arent releasing enough information on it. i can understand that they want to conseal all the information from the other companies so they dont steal it (again from what i was told ... sumtin about mario). but i think they should give out a little more info so that they can get people hyped up about the system. then again. if it is going to be as good as i want it to be ...then they should wait, then everyone would rush out to buy it the second its released and everyone would forget about the other consoles....o well, guess ill have to wait till 2006 to find out, cant wait for ps3!

thats the same thing i was wondering. except i didnt bother to post. i figured since i had about 25 credits that i would be fine. but i was gone a little longer than i had expected . when i came back my credits were at a negative 16.35 ...but im working them back. now im only at a negative 5.25 (only one day later )
