I don't think it is possible to even boot off a memory stick, unless your BIOS has that option. Last check that you can only boot from optical discs, hard drives and networks. I'm not so sure about memory sticks.Plus, if you could, you must have something installed in the storage in order for the computer to even boot from your memory card.xboxrulz

I think companies should focus more on memory instead of storage since the speed of memory still is creating bottlenecks for the CPU.xboxrulz

It's a trend indeed, but it will take a long time before it's the norm across the border. Opensource software still doesn't have the full support of the people across the world. That's even if it's Mozilla Firefox (which is the most successful at the moment). Firefox only has about 15% of the market share. Internet Explorer has about 75%. The rest are smaller browsers like Opera and Safari.I support almost all open source software, but that doesn't mean I don't use proprietary software. Its figures are old, its according to 2005, not the latest. Plus, their memory configurations are different. I know that Core 2 Duo is a great chip, but it's too expensive to achieve the same performance of RAW power/$. Its performance/watt is not really different than AMD's either. xboxrulz

I played around with two laptops, both Acers. One of them was a Core 2 Duo and the other was a Turion 64 X2. Both lasted maximum of 2 hours on batteries. As for the response to Core 2 Duo, it's coming Fall 2007 with the new Phenoms. It uses even less power than Core 2 Duo! (Well, at least the EE versions) xboxrulz
