Air cooling is better for pc's1. no risk of leaks2. air cooling gives airflow, which is needed by the transistors etc. on your motherboard.3. air cooling is also very silent (Zalman, arctic)4. Because of reason 2 your hardware will have a longer life5. It's safer to move around with, eg. lanparty's6. my personal reason, you get nice fancontrollers on your pc

Anyone Run A Dotnetnuke System? dotnetnuke querry
jipman replied to chizeled's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Why do you use asp.net based cr*p anyways ...I'm sorry, Xisto doesn't support ASP.net according to the home-page. So you have 2 choices,- use another cms- get another host. -
Well... isn't Xisto an tech-forum?I don't think that it would be appropriate to give credits for posts in those subforums..

I believe that you can use the google engine, because google has a service for that... I don't know exactly how it works, but it works good. Some sites also have it.

Disk Indexing, Who Needs It? Turning off Disk Indexing
jipman replied to thaichatham's topic in Software
Euhm... guess you're right on that point.I still don't see the use of them, too little performance. -
As some of you may have noticed on this forum there is something called Whatpulse, let me explain what that is. Whatpulse is a project with a program that counts the number of keys you press on your keyboard or clicks you make with your mouse. There is no goal in it, and the project is just for fun. On http://whatpulse.org/ you can find a ranklist with people you have entered the world of WP. While it's a relatively new project there are quite a number of people who participate. You can fight for the #1 place in the single-user list, or you can also join or start a team and try to get the first place in the team-ranks. That's where my idea kicks in, I was wondering if we could create an Xisto-whatpulse team, and make a throw to the number 1 place, or at least for fun. If you are interested, you can read more about Whatpulse here http://whatpulse.org/whatis/ The following people I know of have whatpulse: - me (jipman) - microscopic^earthling - szupie Finally, when you are in the IRC channel of Xisto, you can use the !wp <username> command to see the whatpulse stats of a user. This command was made my microscopic^earhtling and me:D Note that the username must be the WHATPULSE-username of the person, which can differ from the astahostname. For instance, on Whatpulse my username is Chinees instead of jipman. I hope there will be a lot of Xisto-pulsers so we can create our own team.

Disk Indexing, Who Needs It? Turning off Disk Indexing
jipman replied to thaichatham's topic in Software
I was wondering, isn't this a security breach? If someone finds your file-index. Also, total commander doesn't have a problem loading files, because explorer wants to create a preview of every file you encounter. M$ is just too nosy .About searching, Total Commander searches faster than explorer @ my system, even with indexing on.Finally I heard that those index files could take up quite some space, up to 300 megs or something... -
LOL clear the cash .Btw. as it seems Xisto sometimes suffers from slow connections, maybe that's the same with trap 17. Just a few refreshes should fix the prob.

I don't see the funny of it, its kinda of 1 of the 10000000 others.
