During the same day and within and hr i can login on accaision then whe i go to open file manager or anything else i get the same error. Later it might work again it might not..... I did spy scans to be sure im not being redirected or the is a hi-jacker, Dont know what else i can do. Have sent numerous reports to support threw e-mail, icq, and shou and welll im typing this out arent i. Maybe it is me, if there is anything anyone can add to help i would greatly appreciate it.Thnx Dan Notice from wwheeler: I moved this post due to the fact that it would sbe better in the Cpanel Forum
  2. If your music file is the only file you browse often just turn it on for that file. It still only takes fractions of a second to locate a non indexed file "typically". If your hard drive is getting full that would slow you down more, should then turn it off completely and free up some room, better solution would be to get more room of course. Also if your index is thousands and thousans of files it would be faster to simply search the file with only a thousand... Jipman, not sure if it woulb be a security threat, if someone can acess that index, whats stoping then from getting to anything else. And about the space yeah more then i though, 2gb's out of 80 If you turn it off and find you don't get the speed you need simply re-check boxits not critical data.
  3. Personally i use limewire pro, the newer 4.8. Limewire claims to be virus free but i promise that it certainly is, not however it is pretty clean for an open network. It has alot of handy features that make it very quick and easy and to use and find what your looking for. - You can perform as many searches as you wish at one time (for approximate spellings...)- Can set priority levels for downloads- Set maximum downloads- Set downloand and upload bandwidth seperately- Share partial files that haven't yet completed (handy for new popular downloads)- Set uploads per persone- Set total number of uploads- Bug report option- Set searching filters for quality and speed- Parental Filters- Built in firewall with Universal Plug and Play- Limit who can download based on there shared folder size- Configure Proxy options- Monitor peak and average bandwidths in a real time graph - Connect to other P2P networks- Rarely wait in line with Pro version The drawbacks to limewire is that it dosent re-connect to useres very well after there is an interuption. You have to go back every now and then highlight and resume the download. The player in it is sub par at best but thats probobly not what your using for anyhow. Overall I've been pretty pleased with it but I'd keep a backup for people who use P2P sharing often to find rarer files.
  4. Windows Xp can be a little too over organized sometimes. It will keep an index for files on your computer. This is supposed to be a quick way for windows to access files. If u dont open and close or search for files very often, or are running low on free space this can have the opposite effect, besides it takes fractons of a second for the computer to locate a file on your hard drive. Follow the next five easy steps to disable disk indexing and free up some space.1. Open "my computer"2. Right click on the drive you wish to disable, typically "C"3. Select "properties"4. At the bottom of the window un-check the box labeled "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching"5. Click "apply" - note, if you would like some files index follow the next seven steps1. Right click on desired file2. Click "Properties"3. Click the "General" tab4. Select "Advanced"5. In the table labeled "Archive and Index attributes" check the box labeled "For fast searching, allow Indexing Service to index this file"6. Click "Ok"7. Repeat for any other file you wish to be indexed- my 80GB hard drive was full of media, cleared just over 2GB and a noticeable speed improvement
  5. My space is just like u said Jipman, blog host, place for friends to network, meet people and so on. I use it too, thats how i found out about this place. If your looking for decent pre-made pages, check out there forum, myspace stuff, customizing, there are about 100 different examples there of profiles others have used and submitted when they wanted to make a new one. They even put all the code right below it, for the copy and paster's, Good way to see what it's supposed to look like though. For the best overall source for Html is this group- https://myspace.com/browser You can also check out -mrk's site, he has awesome tutorials on just about everything to do with players, playlists, fonts, text, moving tables, different cursors, and many other good things to help with html. his site is https://myspace.com/browser, he also has lots of links there to other tutorials and advanced html groups when u get the hang of the more typical stuff. For learning the flash stuff can go to flashkit.com or actionscript.org . I havent had a chace to check out the flash yet so if ya do let me know how it turns out... My Profile there is https://myspace.com/browser if ya wanna check it out, ONly been working on it this past week, still need to add some effects and move tables. My vid's stop workin, asta?, My cpanel wont load either, think server may be down, Goodluck and keep at it, lots of trial and error,
  6. Have you recieved a conformation e-mail, can access all that stuff through cpanel, and file manager.
  7. - on a side not Jipp, guess i can just monitor peak ussage in task manager more closely. Is the peak ussage for this session only? Or Maybe just the past hr, not sure. I nosed around a bit didnt see much. Thnx for the replies!
  8. Have you dissabled your pagefile Jipman, if so what was your experience like, ever cause problems like running out of ram while converting video and trying to use computer at same time. I have 512, and 768 in pagefile, I know thats alot but im constantly doing demeanding operations with this 2.4 p4. I let windows manage it, any recomendations?
  9. Your Pagefile is your "virtual memory" or "swap file", a reseved section of your hard drive to use as RAM (random access memory). The advantages of pagefile is that you can read a large chunk of data from a single area rather then from different locations on your hard drive. It also takes fewer I/O (input/output) operations so a file can be read or writen faser. This can contain sometimes sensitve data like passwords that can sometimes be vulnerable without proper protection. Follow the next steps to set windsows to autmatically clear it upon shut down.1. Go to start menue2. Click "run"3. Enter "regedit.exe" hit "enter" or hit "ok"4. Open "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" 5. Open "system"6. Open "currentcontrolset"7. Open "control"8. Open "Session Manager"9. Open "Memory management"10. On the right hand side right click on the value "ClearPageFileAtShutDown" - if there is no value there right click in the open section and add a DWORD value and name it "ClearPageFileAtShutdown"11. Change value to "1"12. RebootYour all set! --note, shutdown may be higher for slower computers
  10. Did anyone give any of these a try or have already used them?whats your experience like with these, and would anyone recomned another, Im still learning too...
  11. Hard to be creative with comp when it dosent do what it's told, besides are u gonna check each registry key, open every file, manually de-frag (if that's possible), of course not, do u fell like doing a search for evey cookie u find to see if u want it or not, dont be silly, i have a packed 80 gb, hard drive, full of media mostlt, and media programs, my current read time is 24s for the entire volume, 22.5 being perfect, my average fragment per file is 1.06, it's taking 1.1 times longer to open fragmented file, im no genius, never claimed to be but i know things like that from diskeeper, alot of apps have great read ups in them too
  12. maybe must have's was too strongthey are more designed for lazy peole or people who cant tweat there comp themselves, spysweeper though has won a pc mag award 3 years running i belivedont quote me on that, but like i said earlier it has 76 000 current defintions, 10 shields including for start up, hi-jacking, keyloggers, trojans... (real time protection)i think spy bot and ad- aware check for like 3 - 6 thousand, not even in the same league, i know alot of these definitions are cookies, but its nice to be able to find out where they came from and wether u want to keep them or not, just from installing and un-instaling different things your registry gets cluttered and slows down, hard to trace old registry keys as far as i know, sytem mechanic does that quickly, also de-fraggs, registry, of course none of these are absolutely nessasary, but i promise u run a sweep by these uttilities and u will notice some improvement, dramatic improvement if your not a comp buff, not saying i am, thats why i use the uttilities..., try diskeeper though, http://www.condusiv.com/, very cool, if u choose not to register it, or hit the cancel i think after u hit register there is an option to never register, i dont know if its an error or what, by i have the full registered app, and i didnt rip this onei have tried these though, and read alot on them and others before making a recomendation, and cause the p2p, was able to try out lots tooif you've used similar uttilies u like, let me know, id apreciate it
  13. whats the prescot like? havent herd about itamd is just a very fast, cheap general cpunewest i think go around 4.0 and saw them going for around 8-9 hundred u.s.
  14. My most embarrasing moment was in 10th grade, just getting to know lots of people at the high school, wasnt wearing my belt that day, a buddie we'll call him ripped my pants down.... well the undies came too, it was cold out.... im over it now!
