  1. I have a feeling this thread is going to be 'In before the lock' as none of those sites are remotely legal.
  2. Mambo is the best for a full blown site but if all you want it a blog-type website then the best choice is either Nucleus or Wordpress.
  3. The scary part is that even Spybot and Adaware doesn't get rid of everything (as shown by scans on different spyware removers) and there will always be spyware on your computer regardless of how you go about tackling it.
  4. Sorry I'm still a little confused as to what they are trying to do here. Basically this is just BBC encodings of their TV shows on bittorrent-like or bittorrent-copy tracker?
  5. Or use iTunes which will send the songs i downloaded to my iPod immediately but very expensive at $0.99 per song <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I absolutely love allofmp3.com becuase of the conveniance and the fact that you can choose the exact format and bitrate that you want to encode in and choose the price (ergo) The problem is that it is constantly under attack by the RIAA etc and I'm sure one day (very soon I have a feeling) it will be shut down like all the other websites being shut down at the moment. Another thing is that you have to top up in $10 increments, which is very frustrating.
  6. So did I. It's just a stupid simple useless craply-designed game which is laid out so that it makes life difficult...
  7. I think it's absolutely dreadful and it will never ever be used becuase noone will want to use it...
  8. I am using the Smf Arcade modification quite successfully and I was just wondering if it is possible to edit/modify existing high-scores?Thanks
  9. There's a highly customisable one which is called Four Winds (do a google search). The problem is that it's not free but you can completely choose how you want to play the games with the rules and the 'fan'.Still it is very slow and can be confusing at times. The bottom line is that it is very well designed and has a great online feature.
  10. I agree with that first of all in a list of features I'd call compulsary for an MP3 player I would definitely have a screen at least. I'd hate to be unable to see the name of the song I'm listening to, there are CD players that do that...Also the iPod shuffle is more expensive than MP3 players that have a voice recorder (very useful) and also FM radio (also very good) and I don't think simply the name iPod can compensate for that.
  11. The iPod shuffle has incredibly clever marketing: the way they have done it is that they've reversed their biggest weakness, which is the lack of a screen, and used it as an advantage, as it means the user can't see what song is being played which makes 'life more random'.Ironically the player is much inferior to players of the same price with a screen, with SD expansion, with FM radio, with voice recorder, none of which the iPod shuffle have. The reason it has this market share is becuase of the marketing and also the fact that the other iPods have been so popular.
  12. OK I upgraded the ram to 256 + 512 and that hasn't done anything except cost mst £40...I have no clue and it's annoying me becuase I can't play anything MPEG at all and I use my computer mainly for media...
  13. Why would tiscali ban Xisto?
  14. Sorry Oboists.co.uk is on a redirect.I can't access Xisto.comOboists.co.uk is actually http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, I just registered the domain late so I haven't had a chance to update the dns.
  15. I keep getting messages about server problems on Xisto and also on my personal web site (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/).I know these are problems with my IP address becuase I can still access these websites through a proxy server. The thing is this is incresingly annoying to have to search for an open proxy every time I want to access Xisto.Does anyone know what's going on and if something on the Xisto server is stopping me from accessing files? Thanks
  16. There's nothing wrong with liking Pokemon, everyone secretly does :PIt's a great game becuase it spread so fast and into so many areas of popular culture, with trading cards, television shows and of course the games. I did play all the original games and Ruby/Sapphire and I really did enjoy them :PI think it's a great game but you can't tell too many people about your secret indulgence
  17. I know how to use a proxy in a browser...If you didn't already know, the itunes music store runs through iTunes and not through Internet Explorer or Opera.
  18. It's not anything to do with my connection or the iTunes server, I have a feeling that someone down at iTunes is blocking my IP address from accessing their music store for some bizarre reason. I will call them as soon as I can, but does anyone know how I could access iTunes Music Store through a proxy?
  19. They don't work on the majority of people but they do catch your attention and it's not hard to click on them every so often. They are definitely more effective than banner adverts I'm sad to say and I know of a number of young girls in particular who have downloaded a large nuimber of the adware/data mining software that they are advertising. It's disgraceful but as long as popup blocking software exists, the advertisers will come up with ways to get them to you though other means.
  20. Openoffic is absolutely amazing. Lots of fan-boys have a problem with the fact that they are becomming more and more like Microsoft Word 2002 with their latest version, but I think it's definitely a good thing because they are not making the program for profit, it's for a political statement and to balance the power towards open-source software. If anyone wants to check it out I recommend downloading version 2, which is very very similar to Microsoft Office and you'll find that the migration is very simple and effective.I especially like the Calc software for a spreadsheet replacement, it is extremely powerful and has many special functions.
  21. Quesiton:Do want mah jiang as in the tile game from China or do you want Mahjongg as in the solitaire game from America which bears no resembelance to the original game whatsoever?
  22. My favourite is Nucleus, it has a great online community and is very easy to set up and customise through the CSS style sheet. It is very easy to create multiple accounts for the same blog or even multiple blogs and overall I like the plainliness and the room for customisation that it provides.
  23. Yes every company dreams of being huge and making tons of money etc etc. The solution is to even out the playing field so that everyone benefits. We will always have a leader, regarless of the field and regarless of by how much. If we have a strong google, then it will stop other companies from growing, and it will stop the competition. Without a strong AMD we wouldn't have a strong Intel. Without a strong Yahoo we wouldn't have a strong Microsoft etc.
  24. Hi person that stole my Hexxagon trophy Service packs are only released once a year so it's a good idea to take the opportunity and update your machine. It does fix all the exploits and I don't see why anyone wouldn't want it.
