  1. Soleimamian, I don't think this is a default option for windows Xp home edition atleast. It sounds more along the lines of something for the server addition.Good little piece of info though.
  2. I like the new controller specs, but personaly, I really am not to fond of how they designed it.Of course, I'll still be buying revolution, purely because it's nintendo, and nintendo has always been there for me (minus most of gc).Ah well, I've used the controller first hand .
  3. Hit it RIGHT on the money. Also, it's advised that you shouldn't save up more credits then you'd need for your hosting...Because they are infact diminished to three. You may also end up being in dept of credits to Xisto if for example...You post something spammy, but was worth alot of credits, and then you rely on that...And it's deleted. Then, chances are you'll be -X credits . So keep your post count up, and do not spam. I hope this, and what abhiram said will clear things up.
  4. Please use search next time...No need to fill the board with the same threads .*Closed*
  5. Hmmm, I think this might be considered to be spam...I'm not entirely sure, because their is more/less a never ending amount of patches you could have put there.I'm closing this thread for now, and will discuss it with my fellow mods.
  6. WARNING: This game can become highly addictive, VERY quickly.Although, it's very mind chalenging...And requires alot of comp skills .Two hints for 2 random lvl's out of the first 10.1. What language do boy scouts have to learn?2. File extensions shouldn't bind you to a certain program.
  7. Hi, recently my computer caught this supposed "low spreading" worm/virus. I had norton 2005 running at the time, and it had worm protection enabled with the latest definitions, so I can't possibly understand how I could have caught it, but back to my story. I hadn't been on the computer for a few days as I have broken my ankle, so I'd rather just use the computer upstairs, and avoid stairs all together. But yes, so I went downstairs and nortons going off on the red alot saying alot of my .exe extensions have been infected...I was tired at the time, so believed this to be very important. Well, norton managed to get rid of the worm, but it said it had to delete all the infected .exe files...So I'm basicly asking two questions. Did deleting all those files mean that they'd be perma-gone, or just fixed...Because they were rather important .exe's. And secondly, how is it possible that I was infected with a worm so mild while norton was online? I've got the link to the description of the virus/worm here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It said something about ftp/http/pop3 ports being opened will leave a security risk, but since school started, I haven't had time to look into it . Are there any suggestions on how to prevent further worms like this? I always thought I was safe my norton...So I'm very curious now .
  8. Hmmm, I can't understand how this could land somebody on the tonight show, but I think I myself have googlewacked quite a few times .I honestly can't understand how this is addictive though...People truely need to spend their time better. One thing is fad could probably do though...Is send a message to google telling them to further improve their amazing search engine capabilities .
  9. Can I get the video game name?It could be a poorly made cd or something...It happens to me with Dungeon Keeper 2 .No matter what I do, it randomly crashes the game back to the desktop .
  10. NONE of those load for me.ALthought he picture in your test did load fine.
  11. Notice from SpaceWaste: No need to double post, just edit your original . Since you are a first time offender, and had a very calm reaction, I will let you off with a warning...But next time I might not be so nice...OR the other mods .
  12. Blob sounds promising, but I do not like the idea of having everything inside the database...In my experience I tend to get screwed over more with MYSQL then on the harddrive, so I'd just use MYSQL for the linkage . Like Micro said though...Their could become the problem of broken links...OR if you ever had to migrate to a different server...That'd be hell. Though, I still suggest using the linkage method...Just make sure to keep everything tidy, and to avoid crashes
  13. Thread closed...Do not spam for post amit.It is not welcomed here.
  14. Yes it is a embeded system, and yes you may share your experiences here. IF you have any further questions Pm a MOD.
  15. /search?q=cache:nuULQlient%3Dfirefox-a&gbv=1&sei=ps76V-unAsLz-AHI8rq4CA Don't tempt the gods mate... It was a good little summary, and you did change a few things...But alot is still just copy pasted. I warned you for now, and I have disabled your posting abilities for 12hours...But I will give them back to you in hopes that you've learnt a lesson . Alternate the post to take into consideration of the copy/pasting (Use quotes). On the topic of the article...Good work, I've really been looking into getting a bluetooth device... Maybe you should talk about PSP's usage on it
  16. **Adds Poll**<---Although we already know who the winner will be .My personal opinion: IE loads faster...But Firefox does not have so many security issues. If IE could get tabbed browsing (coming inside IE7), and then if it found a way to solve ALL of it's issues involving so many spyware breeches and hacks onto it's software...Then it'd definately way in against firefox. For now though, firefox has all those qualities...Minus the ultra fast load at times...(and the big resource hoggyness).Sos my final decision has to be...Firefox...And I was the first to vote .
  17. Good answer . Micro's recommendation of Sissoft Sandra Pro seems pretty promising too. As for the virtual ramdisk..That is more less what the pagefile system is...Only their is a maximum amount to it for damage to the harddrive reasons. On the topic of increasing speed to your operating systems OS, how about inscreaing it to firefox? I read someplace that some guy was tired of ff's slow load up in the beginning, so he managed to get firefox to boot directly off of the ram inside his computer...It no longer used the harddrives memory. He had said that firefox's load up was insane after that though. Back to the subject at hand though...I find that reducing the graphix windows Xp uses can really help performance, so tip number 2 gets a double wink... :D
  18. Is the channel still #Xisto ?Everytime I go on...Everybody's offline
  19. Amazing . That paper display sounds pretty frigging sweet to :DAs for the site, I get this error:Due to overwhelming volume this page is unavailable, please check back soon.LOL, everybody must want a piece of that technology....It won't be for me until like...2014 atleast though...Probably very expensive.
  20. Can't be that hard...But if you're ever feeling lazy, you could ezly just make a flash of it.That site is a nice piece of work .I'm glad it won the prize!
  21. Well. Although this is useful.IF it is to be used for changing things from the servers side...Then I recommend just pay for the extra bandwidth. This is probably illegal in several places. So beware.Edit: the link works fine for me.Also, a cable modem is like a dial-up modem...But not really. It's used to harnest the power of your cable to give you highspeed internet, and is not built into your computer.A dial-up modem is generaly built right into the computer...And made to harnest the power of dial-up (56kps..lame).The only real thing you need dial-up providers for is to connect to their private numbers...in which they require a username and a password
  22. Erm.Sorry if this was already mentioned. But it's quite simple to get updates without having a legal version of windows. When it asked you to identify. You select yes, and then no. And then simple. You are done, and can download whatever you wish from their website. Not that I have a illegal version...It's just that I don't like looking for my serial number everytime they ask me for it.Besides...Do you know how many unbanned serial numbers there are out there?I was just looking through e-bay for a computer...And somebody had posted pictures of his computer...And he posted the serial number that was labeled on the back of his comp.Lambs to the slaughter my friends...
  23. As houdini said, make sure you check...Save As File. Then put compression to gzip. (not needed, but better off as). Then download set file.Once you have the file log into your Xisto account. From there create a database with the same name as the one from superiorhost.com, or you'll have to change things manualy. After that, important the saved file to that database. Now, you aren't done yet.You still need to copy every file from your geeklog directory at superiorhost.com, and then put that directory onto your Xisto website directory. If you follow those steps accordingly, there shouldn't be a problem...Minus changing some links around .BUT, whatever you do:DO NOT edit anything inside your database, gzipped, file. Nor inside your database.DO NOT do a fresh install of geeklog. You won't be needing to install anything like you did for superiorhost, as this is strickly a import/copypaste situation basicly.Follow what I said accordingly, and it should work fine.
