Solving the world's biggest problems is a kind of fantasy for me. The world is meant to be that way, full of people who create problems all the time, full of people who try to solve them and eventually full of problems all the time.Having said hat I thing solving problems starting from local communities and going through the problems of the country is the way to go. The problems in the world are in a way the accumulation of all the problems in communities and countries.

There are plenty of websites that offer code that can copy/past in your website to have a widget with the content of your choice. You could just google widget and the type of content you're looking for. Once you are happy with some finding there will be a button that you click to display and THML code that you can place in your website. You can do that with a very basic knowledge of HTML.

Hometown best and worst features of your hometown
mamer replied to AndroKing's topic in General Discussion
One of the best things that I love about my hometown:I love the way people are keen on greeting and caring for each otherOne of the worst things I cannot stand about my hometown:I hate it when that caring goes off limits and leaves you no privacyOne one thing I would never want to change about that town:The old houses, roads and shops. But that changed a lot with a false modernization -
Pippin is the kind of mother who knows what she's doing. I gather she didn't her pups to get spoiled by the protective set up you made for here and wanted them to grow up in natural surroundings. That's why they were healthy and they'll grow up tough and determined to do the job they do best.

I see the difference between both as the difference giving and talking. I think crush is more about taking and love is more about giving. If both refer to some kind of attraction then crush is more of qualified attraction, I mean you're attracted to people because of their qualities. Love on the other hand is a non justified attraction.Love in that sense would be deeper and more complicated status than crush. Also crush could be part of love in a way.

That's what I like about Sophism. The concept of unconditioned love. Sophists believe that God loves his own creation. When they talk about loving God they also talk about their love to God regardless the gifts, regardless the reward in second life and regardless the fear of punishment. It's the absolute love.

Yes you're right. I first ran a search on CSS in the forum but it didn't give me any results. That was misleading for me.

Do You Feel The Need To Format/defrag Your Brain?
mamer replied to The Simpleton's topic in Science and Technology
I think our brains do that naturally but very slowly and gradually over the years. Forgetting names, faces and events is similar to partial and gradual formatting. Defrag? I'm not sure. Maybe the case when we fill in some gaps in memory with some relevant recollections taken from here and there. Halting? Yes it happens as well. Virus? When we get crazy. Bad Sector? When we get stupid. Partition not active? When we get drunk. -
Life could very nice without many things. No math, PC, bills, wars, wives and the list goes on.I’ve seen some uneducated farmers in my country doing some complex multiplication their own way without any math. They are simple and happy people who didn’t have to take math courses.

Nice discussion.English isn’t my first language and I’ll never speak or write like a native. I learnt not to be intimidated by my own language mistakes but to try to correct them. That’s the way people learn, make mistakes and learn from them.As for posting with wrong spelling or grammar I try to avoid that as much as I can. If I fail at least I tried.I focus more on the content when I read posts. Whenever I come across a post written by a native speaker of English I try to learn something from it, even if it has slang. As for momma jokes, beware guys. It's a taboo in some cultures and I'd never do that or accept it from anybody.

Programming Language i want to invent this
mamer replied to akira550's topic in Science and Technology
That could be a code for a short program in such a language: Program starts Event: User Clicks Browse; Action: Open File Dialogue. Event: User Selects File; Action: Open Selected File. Issue: File Type Not Supported; Action: Display Error Message. Event: User Clicks Save; Action: Of Course You Save It Bugger! Program ends -
What about talking about good actions and bad actions instead of talking about good guys and bad guys? We don't really know if a guy is good or bad but we can tell a bad action from a good one.Treating bad actions with good in the hope of people reforming their behaviors depends on what bad they did. Talking behind my back is a bad thing but I still can react in a good way. The same is for stealing my sockets. But for sure it's not the same when there's harm or damage. That should be socially punished not rewarded.

Pyramid Brainstorming Why human beings didnt create Egyptian pyramids.
mamer replied to RiQ's topic in Science and Technology
We find it hard to accept that pyramids were built by man because we can’t see how this could be done nowadays. The same is true for preserving mummies, we have theories but we cannot do the same. Does that mean that preserving mummies also was not done by man?The problem with over trusting science is that science would let you down in many occasions where there’s no scientific explanation. Also we think of science as our science without leaving any room for a different science than ours. Those pharos used to draw the vertical angle with a rope that has 12 knots before it became a theory in traditional mathI believe that pharos built the Pyramids in a way that’s not known to us. -
Illusion is something that is deceiving the mind and the senses. Several conditions would contribute to illusions like wishful thinking, fear, belief. Most descriptions of aliens are very similar to the characters in our fairy tales. It’s the projection of our collective mind. No matter they look strange they still have eyes, legs and speak somehow. Those man-like features in my opinion prove that the image is a human mind made.

Doing your best for me is doing what you believe is your best. You could be underestimating your capabilities and rest assured that you’re doing your best. Also you could be overestimating your capabilities and always torturing yourself for not doing your best. The way out of that is to know exactly your capabilities and know when to use the to the maximum and when to save your energy for a more demanding task.

Brainstorm On How To Improve Knowledgesutra
mamer replied to Harlot's topic in Science and Technology
Some ideas for promoting Xisto: Reward credits for hosting reviewing the forum in you hosted website and linking to the forum Members could upload documents with variety of content that is well catalogued and open for search engines to attract more visitors. Of course there need to be a system for that. Members get credit for placing ads about the forum and the hosting service For support and quality: Create a mentoring system to delegate the job of support and quality control to senior members and above and all is supervised by moderators. Say a Super Member mentors 10 Newbie for example -
If you can crack and burn things with leaser and leaser is a light then why not? Break something with it to make some noise.I'm not an expert but for me it's some kind of energy transformation. In theory you can transfer any form of energy to another, it's only a question of the right device and the control over the outcome of the process.

Limiting luxury is god for yourself in the first place if you’re seeking happiness. That fact that you would still want more luxury will distract you from enjoying what you already have. Luxury is somehow related to social rank. People sometimes seek more luxury to climb the social ladder. I would go for a decent level of good life where I don’t have to suffer. The endless hunger for luxury resulted in unfair distribution of wealth and hence the poverty.

If I have the skills and resources to print something with high quality like money I would simply print something that I could sell and make money. I knew of some artist who used to make money, not a lot, from handmade greeting cards. She used different techniques and materials in making nicely designed artistic greeting cards.
