Well, i thought of doing that in a number of ways and spent a long while last night experimenting. The problem is that the page will be centered. And this means that it will move for differernt screen resolutions, meaning i could create a perefctly fitting brick outline to fit for one resolution but with another it won't line up and will look out of place. I also tried creating an outline of slightly darkened brick colour to give the impression of a shadow/glow, but it didnt look very good on the background. I also was considering creating a a black area of the background image, like a broken wall or spray paint or soemthing, just again, the problem is in differernt screen sizes it might not align so well. On Other news, I've deceided to make my Blog Public. rite, hit a slight snag in it seems. . . . basicly. . . . what i want is to have the webpage content's background have a a glow with transparency, using an alpha channel, and the only way to do this is to use a PNG file.. . . . which isn't a problem. . . . the problem is IE is a big load of steaming s**t and doesn't support PNG Alpha transaprency. I've experimented and tried using alternatives to the fadding transparency but they don't look as good. But, i did read that Internet Explorer 7 is going to be released in the summer, which will have proper PNG support. This would give me a while to create my website fully, but on the other hand, only firefox and IE7 viewers wud be suported . . . . possibly other browsers but i don't currently have them installed so i'm not sure. . . . . . mmmmmmmmmm choices choices . . . . . . anyways. . . below are 2 screenshots of the WIP background graphics. They are not complete, not sliced up and do not represent the final quality of the website. The Wonderous IE The Firefox (how the image SHOULD be displayed comment on your opinions on my plans . . . . . do u think i should create the site for the users of the latest browsers and leave old IE users with crappy looking images?

Do You Want A Sneek Peek At My Site
Goosestaf replied to john_meikle's topic in Websites and Web Designing
guessing its a wip, keep working at it and get all the borders and alignment sorted.a few thigns where out of place.but since ur still learning i won't be harsh on you :DI'm sure as you get more confident coding you will then be creative with graphics.not bad so far -
ohhhhhhhh god dam it, i don't care any more lol thankx for all the crits ppl. yes the site at the moment is in a very similar style, with the same background. I've currently got 2 design styles though, a sign like the one of the teaser page and a poster style, which will require more effort to get looking good. i'm still deceiding.

Enjoy?mmmmmmmm i put no comment as to me its just an OS and provides no thrills and nothing to enjoy. But as far as userbility and function, its not a bad OS.but i certainly wouldn't say i enjoy using it or not. . . . as i generally take out my anger and blame windows when something majorly cacks up

... Your Choice... Swish or Flash?
Goosestaf replied to SilverSoldierTT's topic in Websites and Web Designing
oh dear . . . not MS lol i would have to say Flash is better, but "Swish" is easier to just pick up and use and learn. (i also hate the name swish, its jsut soudns liek a pathetic rip off, of flash. . . i mean FLASH sounds kool . . . but swish. . . thats just kinda lame lol) its similar to Paintshop pro and photoshop. PSP is easier to jsut pick up and start using if ur a newbie, but u can do so much more in PS -
i hate managers where i work. . . . their all lazy c**ts who constantly moan and *BLEEP*. They are pathetic . . . . . .

I've deceided to drop the name "Tribune designs" as it was often mis-pronounced and i grew tired of it all. My new "company" is called Heartless Creations. I am currently building the site template from which 3 sites will run. I will create a design section, for my services, portfolio and some tutorials etc the second site will be a photography site and the third will be clothing , initially T-shirt designs etc, which i will jsut design at first and not sell. I will Submit some designs to "threadless" for the competeion if i think my work is good enuff. . . but absiclly thats just for fun So to start this off i have created a small "comming soon" page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ when i egt the mains sites online and in viewable WIP stage i will psot links and updates here.

not bad, altho not great. My pointers are to change the header. All the bevel effects look pretty amateurish and some of the text effects look bad. What i like is the css style for the text, nothing bad about that :rolleyes:and the footer graphics. Somehting liek that for the nav buttons would be alot better i think. Also why is there a gap in between the header and nav?Could be a promising site.not bad so far

yeh thats really crap. Its all the controlling mother. Right head case i say. Altho he is quite an odd and mysterious man. . . . like him denying he's had any surgery, insisting that "people jsut change" . . .lol not as much as he has. but for me the biggest issue is the spread of jamster and that F**King crazy frog bol*ox.. . . i mean, its constantly on all the music channels, and its moved onto Channel 4 now aswell (UK) and not to mention the million of add banners all ova the web which play the tacky S**t when u roll over them. . . grrrrrrrr i bloody hate them. . . But politcally a major issue is the USA's pollicies. Their foreign pollicy, Their foreign aid policy and there ignorant and selfish policie on Global polluting, global warming etc. . . . . grrrrrrr the new european consitution and eventual forming of a european super state is a quite a big issue too.

Vote and post your sound sytem. make recommendations and, good/bad points etc I have a Creative 2.1 megaWorkx 250 MegaWorkX 2.1 When i bought my new pc i wasn't sure weither to go for a 100 moderate 5.1 system. . . or go for a full on bloody powerful 2.1. i believe i amde the right decision the speakers are truly outstanding, we all know when we hear quality and creative leave you in no doubt at all that you have made a superb choice, the two tiny speakers dont seem capable of delivering 75watts of power each but they manage it effortlessly. The bass vibrated my bones and made my heart danced to the superb clarity of sound even at the highest volume which i could only test for a second or two for fear of going pre-maturely death. also, does anyone ahve any 5.1 surround sound headphones, . . and if so are they worth buying?
