  1. Oh my not another render, was looking up stuff for TikiPrincess when I came across this little bundle of joy Notice from Plenoptic: Editted topic as per request
  2. It has been nearly a year since I did one but here we go. not as rusty except for the little white spot in the upper right corner
  3. I would say do one of two following, do a System Restore a week or so before you installed Windows Blinds and see if the problem shows up. If it doesn't fix itself on a restore then reinstall the Operating System as that should fix the error, since it is a fresh installation of the Operating System.
  4. Well finally a topic I have no idea about , I would say instead of me trying to explain it and getting you more confused or whatever I will point you to some links to further your mind on signal scrambling and the joys of doing as such. Site #1 Site #2 Scary enough I think your book will have more info, since the search results were more about products then actual documentation and that good stuff.
  5. If you can't boot your computer then your motherboard is completely fried and you just simply replace it and you should be set. As for a surge protector, any surge protector on the market is fine, what I would suggest is go to this site and browse the surge protection there. In that selection choose several that have a combination of many reviews and a rating of 5 on it, and then select from the most affordable price you spend. But if you replace the motherboard and nothing works, then switch out the power supply, if nothing happens on that well you got yourself a nice paper weight and should bring it to a computer or call the computer brand tech support to see what can be done.
  6. Well the highest that has been achieve has been in the 5-6GHz range which is bizarre because these machines where in the 2GHz range to begin with, OverClock#1. Of course I check out other forums and some people have claim someone else has hit the 7.0+GHz range and it was stable to . It's amazing where people get the money to go and destroy computer hardware just to test how fast they can get them.
  7. Actually the guy is liable for those deaths since he was the indirect cause of that accident; however, for the lawyer to prove that, he/she has to discredit pilot error which most likely was the cause. It is the same scenario if you were in a car accident and your passenger dies, you are held liable for that cause of death. I can't think of the term but it's meaning has to do with the indirect cause of someone's death, just because you didn't actually do it, but were part of it, your held liable for it.I would say he should be brought up on murder charges since people did die while on a police chase.
  8. From what I found you need to get a wireless printer adapter for your printer and make sure to set up your printer with a TCPIP address and set the DHCP on your router. You have to make sure your Desktop is set up to be a gateway in order to move your files around be able to print from the laptop. this [url=http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ on microsoft talks about how to set up a wireless network in a small office, and since you fit under that category, the walkthrough hsould be perfect for what your trying to do.
  9. I would assume that your computer can still start since you are receiving power and a signal error on your monitor. However, the question I have is that you don't mention how bad your motherboard is after getting hit by a power surge, and if you could boot up your computer with no problems, then your motherboard is fine. However, usually motherboards don't take kindly to power surges and so they end up getting cook and thus you have to replace it.Now if that isn't the case, I would believe that your monitor could be fried, and in order to test to make sure it is not that get another monitor that you know that works and then hook it up the PC, the go through booting process and see if you get anything. If that monitor does work, then the other monitor is bustes and must get replace. However, if you don't get a signal from that one, then it's your hardware (which of course you just mention). The problem you say the lights are coming on but your not mentioning anything about if your computer boots up, you usually can tell by the sounds it makes if the computer boots up. Also do you here any beeps when your computer boots up, if so you have a specific error as well (make sure to count them if you do or describe what they sounds like). Now if the video card doesn't work, I would suggest getting a motherboard that is working and run that and see what happens, if that motherboard does work, then the other one is fried and has to get replaced. In short if two monitors don't work (then its the video card/motherboard), if another video card doesn't work (the motherboard is fried).Oh one more thing, check the power supply to the computer, since the monitor feeds off that as well and see if you can find any charing in it, also make sure to check your cables as well to see if they are cooked as well.
  10. I would try this first, uninstall your word program (Word, works or whatever)then try and open up your documents (word pad should kick in) and see if it happens again, also restart your computer to see if it crashes once again. If not then there is a glitch with the software that your using, and by uninstalling it you should have gotten rid of it. Of course it almost sounds like it could be a virus and if you haven't done so already scan your computer and see if anything gets pick up, and if you have spybot run that as well. However, that virus would have to be either pretty old one that you somehow caught or a new one, because I haven't heard anything about virus doing that. Also when you boot up your computer I want to you to press F8 or whatever key it requires you to go to your boot screen and then run the diagnostics program as well, and see if any errors show up as well. Running that program takes about 30-45 minutes to check everything, then if any errors do show up write them down and report back with them. Although it couldn't be a virus or a memory issue, you be surprised what you can find out after running a series of tools, but if the error doesn't show when you do the first option, then reinstall it and see if it happens again.
  11. The best method is to either unplug your router or look for the reset button and press it, this way your router goes back into it's default mode. However, if you have a main computer that your router connects through then just log into your router's admin panel and then go to the wireless security menu (or whatever it would be called) and your WPA/WEP key should be listed. Then write it down or have your other computer there to type it in and you should be set.
  12. Another thing I would like to add is that you need to fix your %'s, because a fluid design isn't suppose to show the left to right scroll bar. You have to remember if a 3 column layout your 3 columns need to equal 100%. #left {background: #cacaca;border-top: 1px dashed;padding-left: 5px;width: 25%;height: 600px;left: 0px;top: 130px;position: absolute;}#content {background: #ffffff;border-top: 1px dashed;width: 50%;height: 600px;left: 150px;top: 130px;position: absolute;}#right {background: #cacaca;border-top: 1px dashed;border-right: 1px dashed;padding-left: 5px;top: 130px;left: 950px;width: 25%;height: 600px;position: absolute;} it would look something like that, but if your going with the fixed design you need to have it equal 800px so it will be able to display correctly in the few people who still use a 640x800 resolution. This website here is a good source of CSS info that covers pretty much everything including layout designs http://www.alvit.de/handbook/.
  13. With the images it is a matter of just positioning them with CSS, but you can get away from that if you design your template in photoshop then slice your images. Then you would set up your slices depending on where you plan to have your frame scroll bars set up at. Although as a programmer myself I would suggest getting out of frames altogether, however, another solution would be to use iframes instead of standard frames. That would way you won't have to deal with headaches of trying to keep your site from breaking. But like I mention to get a good frames site going start with adobe photoshop or some other graphics program that slices and can be saved as a website and its just a matter of adding the code in it.
  14. Another Sig for me!! I don't think I have any more room if these keep coming . Also for some strange reason that place with the veins and the red background look familiar, its on the tip of my tongue but I can't place it .

  18. Strange your the second person to mention having problems in that forum this week, I would say it is a glitch and if you haven't done so already just refresh your browser while in that forum and see if it fixes it or not.
  19. This website should point you into the right direction on how to fix this problem, and although it has to do with opening applications, the solution should still be useful when booting your computer. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  20. It is pretty obvious you need to get a faster connection since it seems your using dial up, however, there are way to speed up the forum here. At the top of the forum click on My Control's, then click on board settings and you will see the following options and use these settings in the following order of the options I have listed above No No No n/a 5 5 then press ok, that way your ISP doesn't have to spend the time downloading the images or the information in people's signatures. Thus this way the forums should load a bit quicker for you when you click on a topic or post an a topic.
