Depends on your definition of small investment. The investment of time and a free website/webhost with some ads could earn you a lot of money depending on your traffic to your site. always ways to earn money but quickly? Maybe if you rob a bank or ask if you can mow someone's lawn and be paid afterwards. That's the quickest way to make money.

No company seems to be very honest these days. Just look at all the webhosts that claim to best the best, provide great quality service -- yet why is it so many users either have great experiences? Or the worst?Check out the webhost scams: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

If, for some reason, you happen to be bored today, here's about 20 seconds worth of entertainment:1) Go to Google Translate (translate.google.com)2) In the box, type "Will Justin Bieber ever hit puberty" (without the quotation marks)3) Translate it from English to Vietnamese4) Now, copy the Vietnamese translation and paste it back into the text box5) Translate it from Vietnamese back into English

So I volunteer as a teacher's aid - ESL. I'm in Israel for a year. I know some Hebrew -- enough to command, enough to demand, but not enough to talk about everything. The teacher I work with had a meeting today, and left me alone for 2 hours -- 1 hour with 20 kids and the other with another 20 kids. They were second graders.None of them spoke any English at all. She left me with the assignment they had to do and that was that.Well, to make a long story short.. and although they just weren't grasping the concept of me saying that "I don't understand what you are saying to me, I'm sorry." -- I managed to get through those 2 hours. In the beginning, I really cared. I wanted them to work at it. The good students, of course, did their work. The slackers.. just didn't want to do anything but have a free period. Expected of kids.. I was probably the same way. But by the middle of the class, I had the attitude of, "I just don't care.. do whatever you will.. just leave me alone."Anyone else been in a similar experience of being unable to communicate with a class full of children? It wasn't so much that I couldn't communicate with them -- it was more of the fact that they knew they could take advantage of saying they don't understand me because they know I'm an English teacher.

Wow 25 GB of storage? I never knew this even existed. This is extremely helpful for online storage. I was using Box.net but I think this might just be even better.

Do wishlists even work? I've had some Wishlists on both Amazon.com and Tshirthell.com and I think they just exist to make me wish that someone would actually answer a wishlist.

I love Google. Smart business. So much free stuff. Gmail. Google Voice. Google Docs. Google Chrome. Amazingly fast. Though I do tend to notice trouble with Google's servers from time to time. But I have to agree.. there are just some things that Google is not going to be able to dominate. They've certainly made their mark into telecommunications with Android. But the OS is not going to be popular IMO. I did try a beta version of it and I wasn't even able to figure out how to connect to the Internet. It's just one big Chrome looking window. And as much as you think that's all you need.. the eyes will soon tire of staring at the same ol' Chrome box all the time. Stick with what you're good at! Besides, domination in the web market is far more powerful than trying to dominate the desktop.

I Feel Used My Girlfriend Used me and lied to me for Another guy.
Xarex replied to iGuest's topic in Dating And Relationships
It seems like she took advantage of your lovingkindness. It seems like you were trying to buy her love and she took advantage of everything you did for her and things turned sour. You did stuff for her and she liked it, but she probably was never really interested in you. I'm sorry to read that you had to go through this. But no amount of what you do and no amount of money will help her. I went through a similar situation -- did everything I could to help the girl, cared for her, showed her what love was, only for her to stab me in the back, and value her fake friends over me. Some people are just that way man. Move on and don't stick around to repeat the same mistakes. She's lied to you more than once and she will continue to do it. You are nothing special to her. So you need to forget about her and find a woman who will appreciate you. Learn from your mistakes. You can be kind, but don't be too kind. -
You need to sign up here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ after that, I believe it's all linked to the forums, so all you need to do is post. And in a few hours, it will update. You only have 2 posts right now so it's likely you need a certain amount of posts with a certain amount of quality content in order for it to count as something.

They are definitely great to test out and get a website up and running, but I certainly wouldn't trust going permanent with them. While they claim that all their support goes to the paying members, and they offer nothing to the free members, than why offer a free service at all if you're not going to help out? If you help me out when I'm a free member, it's likely that once my site is complete and I want a domain name.. I will stick with you. But they don't think this way. My site had went down a few times without an email, without warning, without anything. And it doesn't seem to be updated ever... to be compatible with certain codes or deal with errors very well. That's been my experience with ByetHost.

You can do this with a program called SWISH or Sony Vegas. [use the cutting tool]

You could always make a website that attracts a lot of people, then put some ads on it, like adsense. Guaranteed that you'll probably make something from it! Only way other than what everyone else is saying... choose a good major, become a doctor, etc.

Dollar Tree The place for great deals
Xarex replied to cemeteryrecords's topic in General Discussion
I love dollar stores -- survived on them for years -- at least for the non-food products. Definitely always find goodies in them. Can't complain about that. I'd walk in there feeling like a rich man. But I did see the food section, often checked out the "nonperishable foods" -- stuff that probably shouldn't even exist. Pick & choose kind of store, but surely the place to shop for toiletries and other items. -
Chase-good Example Of Bad Banking Stay clear of them
Xarex replied to Joshua's topic in General Discussion
I am tired of Chase. About to leave and close my account with them. I only have a Student Checking account. In the beginning, it was free, no service fee, nothing. All of a sudden, I'm being charged $6 a month. For what they all a service fee. What service? holding money? $6 per month times 12 is a lot per year. May as well not put any money in the bank. Definitely agree on the bad form of banking. I do have another banking account.. no monthly fee, nothing. Chase sucks. -
Model I8B11D4Operating System Windows2000/XP/Windows7Processor Intel Atom D425 1.8GHZDisplay 10.2'' Wide-screen 1280*600 WXGAGraphic Processor Intel GMA X3150System Memory DDRII 1GMax Memory Maximun to 2GMemory Slot 1?So-DIMMHard Drive SATA 160G (250G/320G)Max Storage Maximun to 320GIf you aren't planning to play games, this looks like a good laptop. The price I saw was around $200 which is a very good price for a computer netbook. Max Memory is only 2 GB -- when you do buy this computer, make sure you go to crucial.com or something and purchase an extra stick. With only 1 GB RAM, you might see some slow activity if you plan to load several applications at once. Make sure you keep your Windows 7 disk defragged and routinely run antispyware protection. That storage capacity is quite a lot for such a small computer but it will probably be able to play some movies and music, so not bad.Battery only lasts around 3 hours. For a regular notebook, that'd be fine. For a netbook, that's a slightly negative review, as it should last longer. But it's probably a pretty powerful little PC.I doubt you'll have a problem doing anything you want on it. As I said, the only thing you probably won't be doing is playing something like StarCraft 2.Always fun buying a new computer. If you're going to go for it, do it. But shop around first.. for a cheaper price. Don't pay over $250 for it. Try to find it for around $200 -- which is what I saw.

I'm always thinking about time.. how little of it there is and how long it can sometimes seem to us. But if you think about it, in terms of the Universe and how long things took to even form and be made.. we are but a spec. Our lives basically happen in less than a blink of the universe's eye. Compared to the amount of time in the universe, the entire existence of humanity -- from the dawn of man till now -- isn't even a thought to the universe. We are nothing. We have always been nothing. And that's all we will be. It sounds insane, but if we could somehow go over the records of the universe -- of everything that was ever created, it almost doesn't even matter. Life seems but an accident. And that's all it ever is and was. Time only means something to us because we are so limited. But to something that never ends or to something that seems like it goes on forever, time is nothing.

Love Can Be Suicide.... be careful
Xarex replied to semeticsister's topic in Dating And Relationships
Very sad. I have opened my heart and made it vulnerable, only to have it stepped on and stabbed. I guess I am used to it.. because all you can keep doing is trying to offer your love to the person who will appreciate it and accept it. I was rejected hard by someone I was in love with.. not rejected outright - in fact, we did date for a while, but perhaps she just didn't feel the same for me. Took me a long time to get over her. In fact, I moved to another country for a while (not because of her), but it seems that distance will heal any kind of pain, especially the pain of love. I still talk to her from time to time, but I've ignored her for the past month or two simply to let anything I felt towards her die. While she will always have my heart and my love, she cannot and will not end my life. Sometimes in life, there are connections and sometimes there isn't. If there is, than one can only hope it grows strong. And if it isn't.. one can only hope that a new connection is made eventually, a stronger and better one, perhaps. -
Meeting Someone For First Time Sitatuion Advice
Xarex replied to Goosestaf's topic in Dating And Relationships
When meeting someone for the first time, you should just be yourself. You don't really have to try to impress the other person. In fact, they can often sense it when you do. You want things to be natural, laid back, and comfortable. Some of your habits you may have to hold off on for a second or third date, but let him or her see the real you, because this is the person they are going to like. If you act like someone else, than that's the person they will like and it just won't work out eventually. But confidence works to win both men and women and the majority can definitely sense whether someone is comfortable in their own skin or not. Don't worry if things don't go well or if you don't hit it off. Sometimes things aren't meant to be. Very hard for some people, including me, to really see this and understand it. But all things do happen for a reason. At least, I keep telling myself that because it helps me sleep at night! But eventually, you do find that person who will like everything about you, even your flaws.A good movie to watch is actually Hitch which touches on so many great points. -
Nvidia Geforce 256 Av Has Been Freezing My Computer
Xarex replied to FurryHead's topic in Hardware Workshop
If it's working on the hardware end, did you try to update the driver or even roll it back? Might just be worth it to get on Ebay and find a newer but cheap NVIDIA card or motherboard. If you can, try the video card in another computer to make sure it's not the computer. But 11 years is good ol' damn reliable. Might be time to let go. -
I think everyone comes across it at least once! I signed up for it thinking it was nothing. Saved $10 on the exit, but than I started getting charged $10 a month for like 3 months without even realizing it. Best be careful.. nothing is free and a good deal is usually too good to be true.

What's hard to understand? Usually a means of some social gathering in which people get together to discuss some or different interests. Quite an amazing tool to be honest -- whether the Internet or a forum. The fact that I could argue with someone in Japan (pending his English) about what kind of sushi is the best is a pretty cool deal.Or maybe I just might get ticked off at some troll who thinks he's the smartest person on the Internet. Eh.. forums.. discussions.. social networking. Good stuff.

If you look at the pictures long enough, it's almost as if the faces change a bit. Overall, women are very beautiful creatures. Thanks God

Hi Ahs, in my opinion, so long as you do not put an overwhelming amount of ads on your site that will annoy and drive away users -- or too many ads where it begins to make the visitor think that your website is just one big place where you're trying to make money by getting people to click on ads, than you should put the different kinds of ads on your site, whether it be in the three locations, or on different pages. If you notice a certain area that is getting more clicks, than you put the moneymaking ad there. As the saying goes, don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you can have two money makers than why wouldn't you use them?I noticed in Gmail lately, right up top, it said that it will be "getting better ads" soon and to click for more details. A few years ago, I wouldn't ever think to tell my visitors that I'm personally doing things with ads and I would just have them appear. But then I clicked the more info button. What did Gmail have to say about it's new ads system? "We want to improve our ad system so that you see less irrelevant ads and more ads that pertain to your personal interests."Now normally, I'd think: I don't want ads at all! However, IF: these ads are placed in areas that are not annoying nor are they up in my face with announcements such as "buy this" or "buy that" and they are off to the side where I can see glimpses of them and maybe I'll see something I'll like and click it, than it doesn't really bother me.So my advice to you is to ensure that your visitors are seeing the most relevant ads that pertain to your website. I am actually having a hard time getting Google Adsense to display the most relevant ad information on my site. My website is very music and art-oriented, and yet adsense keeps displaying ads for concerts and art shows. While somewhat relevant -- still not exactly what I want it to show. You want your visitors to be on your pages for as long as possible. If they see a bunch of ads that are just annoying them and in their vision, than they are likely to leave. However, if you put ads in on the sides, as if they are merely suggestions for your customers/visitors, than they are likely to stay and trust in -- not only your website, but your ads as well.

A list of updated apps for Mac OS for 2011: -Make sure you have the latest update of Mac OS X which, at the time of this writing, is Mac OS 10.6.7. The App Store for applications will be installed on to your computer containing many programs that are both free and that you can purchase. I will list some of the free ones that I use and find very useful and are technically my favorite applications. Disk Inventory X: This shows the size of your disk and all exactly how much space your applications are taking up, including your music or movie library. FireZilla: One of the faster FTP applications for the Mac OS. TextWrangler: A more advanced TextEdit program which can do much more and is also a Programmerâs Text Editor and a Unix And Server Administratorâs Tool with many advanced features. Google Chrome: Amazingly fast web browser from Google. A must have that, in my opinion, beats both Safari and Firefox. Extensions available are slowly increasing and catching up to Firefox. FireFox: An amazing powerful open-source web browser that embarrassed Internet Explorer and still continues to laugh in its face. SimplyBurns: A simple but powerful application that burns CD / DVD media. VirtualBox: A program that allows you to run Windows or Linux on a Mac computer. VMWare: A slightly more advanced program than VirtualBox that allows you to run Windows or Linux or any other OS on a Mac. [shareware] Calibre: An application that manages your Ebooks and is able to convert any format into any other format. (Epub to PDF, etc.) [shareware] VLC Player: A must have on top of QuickTime 7 or X. This video player can read nearly any movie format and supports and makes subtitles easy to use. This app can also increase the regular sound of the audio by up to 400%. HandBreak: An application that can change DVD formats into something more readable, especially good if you want to put your movies on to an iPod or iPhone. Onyx: Go beyond what the Mac OS allows you to do and change many settings for enhanced productivity and increased speed for the Mac. MacJanitor: Clean your Mac of many unwanted and unneeded files in order to speed it up. Skype: Whether a Windows or Mac User, Skype is just a must have for anyone looking to communicate through video. UnRar X: This allows you to unrar compressed files that are in the .rar format. SimplyRar: This allows you to compress files or folders into .Rar format. FreeMind: An amazing mind mapping program that allows you to get your thoughts and ideas out and on to a page that can extend beyond your imagination. Genius: A flash cards program that tests you and helps you memorize anything you need to memorize. DeTune: Have some music files you have on your iPhone or iPod that you need to get off and back on to your computer? This is the program to do it. FaceTime: Not quite sure why Apple is charging for their own useful application. The link is to a free download anyway. This program allows you to talk with people who have iTunes, iPhone, or the iPad 2.0. Tor: A program that will hide your proxy and allow you to appear elsewhere in the world. Great for hiding your IP address and your identity. NeoOffice: Although OpenOffice.org will work with Mac OS, this program was designed for the Mac. It is equivalent to Microsoft Word and gets updated often. Very good program to have. Transmission: This is probably one of the best and native Torrent clients for the Mac. QuickTime 7: QuickTime 7 Pro for the Mac is an amazingly powerful editing tool that puts its newer sibling, QuickTime 10 to shame. While QuickTime 7 is free, the Pro version will cost you, but it is very worth it when it comes to editing videos or making them. [shareware] AppFresh: Very useful program that checks your applications to see if they are up to date and will help you keep those apps up to date. Audacity: Great software for audio support and editing. Perian: A must-have for adding all kinds of video support to the Mac OS. MacFuse: A must-have for any Mac user who uses Linux or Windows. Adds fully functional file system support (i.e. NTFS). NTFS-3G: A must-have for any Mac user who uses Windows -- allowing for Mac to move files back and forth between Windows and the Mac via Bootcamp. Paintbrush: A paintbrush program for Mac OS. Winclone: Create an image of your bootcamp drive in just a few minutes for quick backup. DOSBox: A DOSBox emulator, mainly for being able to run games there were made for DOS. The rEFIt Project: rEFIt is a must-have program that is a boot menu and maintenance toolkit for EFI-based machines like the Intel Macs. Use it to boot multiple operating systems easily, including triple-boot setups with Boot Camp. QuickSilver: an application that lets you reach any program, folder or file in a few keystrokes and contains a large library of plugins. Todos: This application will show you every application you have on your computer in icon-view and will allow you to launch any of those applications. I have listed probably the most useful and up to date applications as of 2011. If you have any to add, feel free to add more.
