I have hp dv6 3040us laptop with AMD phenom N830 processor. Before I ever had a computer with AMD cpu, it was known to me that AMDs run a bit hotter than their intel counterparts. But now when I have one, i realize that they acually run a lot hotter. Whenever I check the temperature of my cpu, it is above 60 degrees centigrade. I did some research online and found that this quite hot for a laptop. The normal running temperature should be between 30 and 40 degrees centigrade. When I run some milde games, like Fifa 12, the temperature kicks up to about 80 degrees centigrade and when I run games like dirt2 or Just cause 2, the temperature rises upto 86 degrees celsius. That is very hot and I am startying to worry about how long the lappy is going to sustain this.My research on internet tells me that ordinary running temperature for this particular processor is not that hige. So there is some problem with my laptop or the way I use it. I have a cooling pad and it does help the temperature drop by about 5 degrees but not more than that. What should I do to make sure that my processor doesn't burn?

Yesterday, I received a newsletter from webpronews in which the author discussed the ever increasing importance of Google+ for SEO. Google is giving more and more weight to its social platform and this thing has accelerated because it has no other social signals to work on. According to my knowledge, facebook doesn't allow google to index it and now google's deal with twiiter is also not functional anymore. A giant like google does need social signals for searches and naturally it is going to give weight to google+As webmasters, what should be our road map now. I don't know about others but I use social media very little to promote my website. I use them only for sharing links to different pages of my website and nothing else. This might be the wrong thing to do but that is what I do.My website gets more than 80percent of its traffic from Google, so I have to give attention to news such as this one. Should I start spending more time on Google+ to promote my website. That won't be much of a problem but the real quesiton is how to promote it. I mean what should I do to promote it. Should I just praise my website all the time. Should I share links of my website's pages every now and then. What should be the strategy? Also, I would like to know about the difference between promotion of websites through blogs and links and through Google+, we should look forward to. I still believe that it is the search engines that matter the most, and a larger proportion of webmasters will agree with me. And for search engines, the thing that matter the most is quality links. So most of the time of a webmaster, in addtion to adding quality content to the website, should spend on trying to get quality linkbacks to the website. However, no one can deny that people spend a lot of time on social websites and they are a good source of traffic. I would love if someone talks about promotion through social media and specifically through Google+.

In past month, my website was attacked by hackers twice. Both of the times, they succeeded in putting phishy links on the website. Once, because of my exams, I was unable to check my email for a few days and durng that time, my website was suspended for phishy activity. The second time, I did respond to the emails quickly and removed the links in a few hours. But the links did appear on my website for that period of time.A few days back, when I was checking my google webmaster tools, I found a few links back to my website that linked to it as a spammy website. I don't remember the name of the service but they had reported my website as spammy and they included it in their directory of phishy sites. That was really heartbreaking for me because my website is not phishy. In fact, I was the victim of the attack. After the attackes, I am seeing considerable reductions in income from my site. To be more specific, the income is dropped down to about 40% of what it was before the attackes. The search engine rankings are all dropped and despite my efforts to restore them to normal, the rankings are not getting better. The traffic to my website has dropped significantly. I have made no changes or done no other inappropriate activities. So natually the blame goes onto the attack.Has anyone of you ever experienced a similar problem. What should be the road map for me now? I have put a huge amount of effort onto my website and I can't watch it stumble because of some bl**dy hacker. Should I keep on putting my efforts onto the website? I am stuck,.

Creating Table Of Contents
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thank you agyat. I have already used table of content plus and I must say it did work fine. The problem I had with this plugin was that it appeared to be unnecessarily complex. It had stuff that I was never going to use and I believed that it would be a burden on my website's loading speed so I decided to find some alternate solution. I did check out its code but it was so complex, that I couldn't understand it, let apart editing it. There were some javascripts and other stuff that was of no use to me. That is why I looked for other solutions.I am glad you also told about the other plugin: "MD Table of contents generator". I have just checked it out and you know what! it is just awesome. It is exactly the thing I was looking for. It is simple and does not contain unnecessary stuff in it, so I will have no problem in using it. I cheked out its code and did some modifications to it. I must say it was easier to understand than the code of Table of contents plus. I edited the heading of the div and changed it from h1 to h3 for seo purposes. I like only my main title to be H1. The point is that it is just the type of thing I was looking for. I haven't yet tried to play around with it's css but I don't think it would be a problem. One thing that did concern me was to add the "[toc]" tag in every page where I wanted the table of contents to appear. I don't like going through every page of my website making changes to each and everyone of it. Fortunately, I have thought of a solution. Though I haven't tried it yet, and I am not pretty sure whether it is going to work or not but I hope it works. The plan is to modify the loop of the wordpress and add the tag for table of contents to the appropriate position so that it is automatically added to every page. I will try it and then write a post about how it went. One thing I want to ask here is the security aspect of the plugin. When I downloaded the plugin, I saw that it is version 1. This means that there hasn't been any update to the plugin and it is in it's original form. What does this mean? Does it mean that the plugin is not safe or does it mean that the author has designed is so brilliantly that it doesn't need any update. My website has already been hacked twice and someone left phishy links on it. Many weeks have passed but I am still seeing the effects of it in terms of my SEO. My website lost trust and it is not getting to rankings where it used to be. That is why I am a bit protecive about security now. -
That is really creative stuff, but I wonder how is someone going to operate it. If the buttons of the gamepad are on the bottom, as appears from the photograph, how is it possible for the mouse to work on a flat surface. I am assuming that the keys are present deep in the caves made for them but what about the analog sticks. Are they deep too. If yes, then I don't think it would be the same experience as a normal gamepad.Furthermore, I have another problem with the design. While holding the device in your hand as a gamepad, during a game when excitement is on, wouln't you be having problem with accidental mouse clicks. I mean both left click and right click are vulnerable to be pressed when the device is used as a gamepad. What do you folks think of this device?(I have never used this device and this is just my imagination)

It is possible on pc. I have done some research on it and found that microsoft has designed an OS specifically for this purpose. The OS is a modification of the windows server 2008 and is known as Microsoft windows multipoint server. According to the reviews I watched, It is specifically designed for student teacher scenario where each classroom can have only one CPU (powerful enough) and multiple monitors and peripherals. The OS enables the monitors and peripherals work in such a way that each monitor appear to work as a different computer. As the resources of One single CPU are limited, only basic tasks are recommended for this scenario but this is what I am asking. I just want to make sure that two users can do text editing and browsing separately. I am not talking about heavy software or games etc. I haven't tried this solution from microsoft yet because I haven't been able to find a trial yet, but most importantly, I do not want to change my OS. I want to achieve the same of windows 7. I was able to mimic a part of it with virtual OS but that was not as functional as I would have wanted. The main problem was that the windows containing the virtual OS didn't fit properly on the second monitor. I think I have explained the problem in the very first post, when I opened the topic. The problem is that the second person's CPU is not functional. It is broke and he cannot buy a new one yet. So I have to make arrangement for him to use my computer but simultaneously with me. I think I should have explained my hardware stuff earlier. I am on a laptop, and it does have HDMI and VGA ports so it can support multiple monitors. The ram of the machine is 4gigs and the hard disk is 500gigs. The processer is AMD triple core phenom ii N830 clocked at 2.2ghz. My personal opinion is that this laptop should be able to handle multiple instances of browsers and text editors. It shouldn't be a problem. But this is my opinion.

Creating Table Of Contents
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I might be wrong but I think that using PHP will be better than using Jquery becaue in my opinion jquery will be slower to load. I am not an expert and I might be wrong completely but this is what I think. Please correct me if I am wrong. -
There is no special hardware involved. There is a laptop (with multicore processor, 4 gigs of Ram and 500 gigs of hard drive) and then there is an external monitor. There are also a pair of keyboards and mouses (mice, i don't know). The goal is to create a system where one keyboard and one mouse works only on the extrenal monitor so as to give the impression of a different computer.

I don't know whether this is the right place for the topic but because it is related to the design of the website, so I thought to put it here. I am trying create the table of contents on every page of my website separately. I use exclusively H2 tags for the important headlines so the table of conents only needs to read the h2 tags. First of all, I don't know how to create it as I am not good at scripting languages. This means that I will have to use a script created by someone else. Secondly, I am having trouble to decide what script to use. Should I use PHP or Javascript. I would personally prefer PHP as I don't need the script to be responsive to user actions or anything like this, but I would still like to hear from experts. I just know the basics of both php and javascript. Only enough to help me gues the structure of my wordpress website and to understand where and how I need to edit the code if I am to remove or add something. I cannot create my own php applications or javascripts. What I need from the function would be: 1. First of all, the script should read all the h2 tags of the page and store them into an array. 2. The script should add a local link (I don't know what it is correctly known as, but I mean the "go to top" type of link) near each h2 tag. 3. The script should convert each element of the h2 tags array to a link that points to the specific local target of the page. So where can I find such script and should I use PHP or Javascript. By the way, If you need some idea about my website's structure, here's the link: MANanatomy

I am not talking about google's own search at google.com. I am talking about Google's custome search for websites. I have created a google custom search engine specifically for my website. When I was modifying the engine, there was no option of how many results do the webmaster want. And there are no settings that come with the custom search engine so that I could go to the preferences page and set the number of results to 5.I think I have to edit the javascript that runs the engine. I may be wrong.
-
I have recently modified the google custom search engine on my website. Now instead of displying results on a different page, it displays the results on the same page. I am not sure about this, but I think it uses JavaScript for this thing. It means that people having javascript disabled are not going to see the results but that's ok with me because there are only a few people who have javascript disabled. The real problem I want to talk about in this post is that I am unable to modify the search engine to make it display 5 results instead of the default 10. I am pretty sure that this needs to be done from within the javascript of the engine but I have two issues:1) I am not very good at javascript, however, I think I can still arrange some workarounds or use the information online to achieve my goals.2) I don't know how to access the javascript of the engine and then modify it and make the engine work on my custom script.Any help in solving the above two issues is appreciated.

The Disadvantage Of Google google offers too many options
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to zenia's topic in Search Engines
What exactly do you mean by sensitive? Do you mean pirated stuff or CIA stuff. If you mean pirated stuff then there is no doubt about it. Google is one of the main sources of people getting access to pirated stuff. I don't mean that Google has a policy of promoting pirated stuff. They say they are against it but in a way they are responsible for people getting access to pirated stuff and I don't accuse google because they just show the existence of websites related to some Keywords. But then again it might not be as simple as this..... Corporate Stuff..... Confusing. And if you mean CIA type of sensitive information, then I think there is more information kept hidden than what is disclosed. And most of the disclosed stuff is leaked by other sources. Again google is responsible only in the sense that it presents link to stuff. -
I think the older one was better. The new features (I don't know personally what they are) are not used that often. What I hate the most is that it decreases the size of the field of view.

Setting Up A Local Copy Of My Wordpress Website
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I don't think I would want to "MIGRATE" my wrodpress site from Xisto to anywhere else. I just want a copy of it on my local server to for testing purposes. Or we can say that I want to migrate a copy of my website to another server for testing. I tried to research a lot on the problems I dicussed in my first post. I haven't been able to figure out why the content is not showing up but I have found why the links are not working locally. The problem lies in my website design. I have done linking in an absolute way, which means that instead of using php funcitons like "bloginfo(template_directory);" etc, I have used http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ page. What this means is that when I shift my website to some other place, the website will still look for that full address. This is a problem anyone who plans to migrate or copy his website in coming time must address. Because this absolute linking strategy has made life much difficult for me. Now I am forced to create a new wordpress website that mimics my site design. I will have to perform my tests on this site and then I will translate my modifications to the actual website. So much pain in the a*s..... -

Most people, especially those who own small businesses or host personal websites, use wordpress as their CMS. It is a great content management system as it is easy to maintain and support is awesome. You can find help about any issue you can think of. The reason is that it is so widely used that almost every aspect of it is covered by someone. Often there arises a need to make some changes in layout or design of the website. It is very easy to do in wordpress. All you require is basic understanding of HTML and PHP. And you can operate and customize your wordpress like a pro. Recently, when I was making some changes to my website, I realized that the website was live during the time I tested various patterns. So anyone who was visiting the website at that particular period of time would have had a bad experience. Things would have changed randomly for him and there also might be some temorary errors shown to him. This might not sound like a big issue for small websites with upto 5k visits a day but for high traffic websites it is a major issue. I tried to look for various solutions. The one I decided to adopt was creating a local copy of my wordpress website and testing all the stuff I wanted to on that local copy. Then when the customization is final, all I have to do would be just to upload the modified stuff to my server and the website will be updated in one leap. This sounds pretty good in theory but while I was setting up a local copy of my wordpress website, I ran into lot of problems. Most of the problems are now fixed but I am still not able to run my website locally as if it was running on the internet. Below are the steps I took to create a local copy of my website (keep in mind that the local copy I created is still not 100% functinal, which means that I have missed something or done something wrong). Wampp: First of all I downloaded Wampserver 2.0a. I have previously used Xampp but because I have now shifted to a x64 system, and according to my knowledge, Xampp doesn't fully support x64 yet, so I decided to go with wampp. The process was really easy without any hiccups and every thing went well. After setting up wampp, I opened my browser and entered "localhost", which carried me to the local wamp server page. This indicated that wampp was running fine. Copied my remote website: The next step was to copy my remote website. I did it through the backup wizard on my cPanel, but the ftp client can also be used for this purpose. Copied my remote database: Using the same backup wizard, I also obtained a copy of my remote database. Copied my remote website contents to localhost: Then I copied the all the files and folders of my remote website to the "www" folder in my wampp installation. Created a new database in local server: Then I created a new database in local server with the same name as the database name on my remote server. Imported the remote database into the local database: Then I imported the remote databsae into the local database so that every bit of data is transferred to my local server. Created new user: I created a new user on phpmyadmin on local server with same details on my remote server. Granted it all priviliges. Changed the default location of my wordpress website in local database: The remote database had default location of my website as "http://www.mananatomy.com/;. As I was going to create a local copy, I changed it to "localhost". I did it by editing the wp-options table in my database. After all that effort, MY WEBSITE DIDN'T WORK LOCALLY. So I tried to follow a different method. I deleted all the files and databases I had uploaded to the local server. Then I downloaded a fresh wordpress copy from wordpress.org and and extracted the contents into the "www" directory of wamp. Then I created a new user and a new database, but the details I used were the same as for the remote server. I configured the new wordpress and installed it with the same details I used for my website when I installed it on my remote server. Then comes the trick that solved many of the issues. I created a new database, imported my original remote server database into it and deleted the wp_options table from it. On the local database that I used for fresh wordpress installation, I deleted all the tables except wp_options. Then I copied all data and structure from the random database (which contained the original contents of remote database) to the local wordpress database. After that I copied the original files of backup and pasted them on top of the fresh wordpress installation in the "www" directory fo wamp. After the files were replaced and directories were merged, I checked if the local website is working. And guess what, it worked. It worked but one major problem still remains. The website is not showing any content. It is showing that there are 336 pages (in the admin area) but the actual website doesn't show any content. The theme is loaded, the CSS loaded but the content isn't there. Furthermore when I click on the links, I am taken to the online version of the website. SO the links are also not working. So here are two problems I need to fix and I need your help on this. 1) Why is the content not appearing? 2) How to make the links work locally and prevent them from going to the online version of the website?

My Website Is Down, Come On Astahost! [Solved]
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Computer Networks
I have opened a new support ticket and written to Xisto - Support about this matter. I hope that the issue will be resolved until tomorrow.Meanwhile I am accessing my website through a proxy and the procedure really su*ks. The speed is as slow as hell. Though I have been granted the access I needed to make sure that all my directories have "755" permission. The ticket I opened for phishing attack was answered by Xisto - Support today. They said that the most common cause of such injections is a loose permission of directories on server. They said that all directories should be 755 unless specifically required. I have found two directories in my website root which were 777 and I think there were the cause of the injection. I personally don't know how these 777 directories can be used to inject malicious stuff to server, but I hope the vulnerability has been fixed because this stuff drove me nuts. The only issue that now remains is that I cannot access my website. I hope this will aslo be fixed soon and I will be on my way to develop my website further. -

Oh! I am so sorry Xisto.I tried to go to the website through a proxy and it worked. The website is up. That is good news for me but the bad news is that I haven't been able to configure what the problem is. I tried different browser but I am getting the same error. This is really strange. Never happened before to me.Before this strange thing happened, I was editing some stuff in the cpanel. I deleted an unused subdomain. Changed the password, visited some stats, changed the primary email,. But none of these seem to be the cause of this issue. Then what is this? Please @yordan help me on this.My website was attacked today by someone who threw some phishy links on it. I received an email from FraudWatch saying that there were some phishy links on the website I manage. I visited the server, found the phishy links and then deleted them. When I was exploring the cpanel, I also discovered that there was an ftp acocunt that I didn't create so it had definitely something to do with the phishy links. I deleted that Ftp account.. But immediately after deleting nothing strange happened so there is no reason to think that deleting the phisy links or deleting the phisy account caused this problem.@yordan please help me on this. -
New Layout And Look Of The Forum
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Its not just with mobile. Often I get the same blank white page with nothing happening even on desktop. So there is some problem that need to be fixed. About half of the time the link does work and I am taken to the new content section. Ignoring the issue, the section is great. It makes looking for new content much easier than the older version. I hope the error gets fixed soon so that we enjoy a smooth bugfree experience. -
This is strange. I have been 2 years with Xisto and this never happened to me. My website is down and it appears that the entire server is not functioning. When I try to go to my website "http://www.mananatomy.com/;, I get the following error: When I try to connect to the server through FTP, it says "Connection timed out, could not connect to server".And finally when I try to launch the cpanel, I get the following page: I am not used to this stuff. I never happened to me before. And because it never happened before, I am worried that there might be something wrong with my website and not the entire server. I have posted a support ticket but I want public opinions of what has happened.

I think what matters the most is what you produce. Obviously the condition of abiding by the law apply everywhere. So as far as you are not violating any copyright laws, and you create stuff which fulfills its purpose, you are fine. The reason why I say this is that there are so many people who have turned into digital artists. In comparison to the traditional art work, digital art work is way too easy. It is simpler and much more forgiving. So more and more people do their art related stuff themselves. For these people, it doesn't matter how original they are or how classy they are. What matters for them is how their creation looks and feels. If the creation looks fine and it fulfills what it was created for, it is a job well done. But yes if someone is too passionate about art and he wants to gain some name in the field, he should definitely keep the factor of originality in mind.

Graphic Designing: Where To Start?
Ahsaniqbalkmc replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Thanks martin!I have watched lots of online tutorials and they really helped me. The real problem for me was not that I didn't know how to draw. It was that I didn't know how to draw in a digital format. I am quite good at drawing stuff on paper. Definitely, not from an artistic point of view but I believe that for the stuff needed for my website, I am quite good. What I needed was to learn how to translate my abilities with pencil and paper into digital stuff. And fortunately, I have found a solution. You may find it funny, but about a year ago, I didn't even know about the existence of graphics tablets. I just used to think that how these people create such beautiful stuff with a mouse. This thought of creating illustrations with a mouse was what drove me crazy. But once I discovered that graphics tablets exists and that they are really helpful, I thought my problem is solved.I have managed to get hold of a grahics tablet. It is not wacom, which people say are the industrial standard, but anyway I am more than happy with it. It is Genius G-Pen m-609x multimedia tablet with a nice large area to work on. I think if I had to buy a Wacom tablet of the same size, it would have cost me at least 4 times more. This tablet that I own works really well. In the beginning I had some troubles with operating it but the process of getting used to was quick. I don't say that I am expert of it now, because I have only used for a few days, but I have definitely improved my abilities with it.I have come to know that drawing on a graphics tablet is quite different that drawing on paper with a pencil, however it is way way easier than drawing with a mouse. In addition, it increases my ability to create new stuff and think about new things. So all I need to do now is get my fingers and my mind familiar with this new technology and translate my drawing abilities on this new medium.I am currently having some difficulties with the tablet and pen and I will create a new topic about it. I will post the link here, so that you people can help me with it.
