Spyda 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 I've seen some pretty pornographic ads the last few days, that I didnt see before. When i first came to trap the ads were farily mild and not bad at all, now they have gotten really pronographic, since i was active then left, but now im back. Really, is there anyway they can get removed. Hey i dont have a problem with some nude women , but for the underage members, or members who might have kids in the room next to them, they dontent want them to be subjected to porn! Anyway, Opaque can get thes gone!
Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Well the reason you see those is because your computer has cookies that have gone to pornographic sites. . If I remember correctly, the ad's system OpaQue uses cookies to display the ad's based on those cookie files. So stop visiting those porn sites and you won't see them here , that simple. I'm sorry, really but.. Just to confirm this, i've never seen these kind of ads on Xisto!
BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Cookies are just part of the answer.Since Xysis is an advertisement service by Xisto, much like Adsense, so those who purchased Xysis ad service sometimes inject ads that should not be "under the terms." Please capture a screenshot and URL. This URL link is NOT the end destination but the referral link--it's very long with bunch of characters that may be 10 or more characters or digits long. And either send PM to OpaQue or myself. Thank you and we apologize in advance for any discomfort.
BooZker 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 True. There is really no need for that on Trap 17. Don't get me wrong. I like to see naked women once in awhile, but you know there are people as young as 14 that i have seen on this site.
juice 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 I've never seen any type of ad related to pornography here at Xisto. Even when I'm at the internet cafe, where people have been to numerous other sites, I still don't get obscene ads. I can never recall ever seeing a naked woman, I might have seen a woman in a bikini though but I'm not sure. Xisto's ads are pretty safe to my standards . Mich 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) I DO NOT visit porn sites, so there are not cookies from places like that on my puter (I am the only user). However, I did catch an ad pn Trap the other day that said nobody under 18 allowed, not to click on it if you were. Well, since I am over 18 and stupid, I clicked on it. Didn't see anything too risque', but would rather not have gone there. Lets just say I didn't find the site very Artful in nature. If I catch the ad again I will PM with the appropriate info. Â Edit: BTW I was shocked by some of the images I ran across surfing Imagefilez. Edited January 8, 2007 by Mich (see edit history)
Spyda 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 Yeah I dont look at pornoraphic stuff, but i dont think cookies are the answer because I always delete the cookies my browser make, anyway I could screen shot a couple of them and PM them to you, if you'd like! fffanatics 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 Wow i have never seen these on any of the computers i use to access Xisto. For me, i really dont care if there are these types of ads since i just wont click on them but at the same time, they are paying for this wonderful service. If you dont like them, just dont click on them and they will leave since if they dont get hits from their ads, they wont sign up again.
darran 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 I am surprised that Xisto ads actually contained pornographic graphics. Whilst surfing Xisto, both at home and in the office, I have never encountered ads of such count before. The most was simply a girl in a bikini titled Mate1 Intimate Dating. That was the furthest it got to.
Albus Dumbledore 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 i see these ad's all the time, and i do not visit prono sites, some people may not believe me but i dont, and the reason i cant is because my parents have program on my computer that records every site i visit, takes screenshots every 30 seconds or whatever they have made it to be.About two weeks ago i took screenshots of the many places i saw it, and sent an e-mail to abuse[@]xisto.com but no response, it might have been the wrong place, but the helpdesk is down, and i dont PM admin's but if i see them again i will PM an admin
FLaKes 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 I havent encountered anything like this on trap, but I wouldnt make a big deal out of it anyway. I didnt know that cookies could be reach so that you get the banner that fits your computer the most. That is interesting.
wild20 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 Sorry people, but I too, although I do not visit any questionable sites, see these ads. SM, lol, such harsh ridicule! Everyone knows that ads placed are often not to regulation, and it is too common. My suggestion would be to contact the ad provider with these ads. If anyone dares to, you can visit the site with images blocked and snag the URL, and grab the image, as Buffalo said.Mate1 ads should still be removed. People (such as myself) who like high morals, will be offended. And personally, you are NOT going to lose members by putting up clean ads, but you might by putting up questionable ones. BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 Just to be clear, cookies do decide which ads are to appear. To understand further this does not mean your computer has the necessary cookies but it can be your ISP server cache (when you view a website it's not directly from the site source but a cached page from an internet node--but that's another story). So if your IP range recently visited some place similar that the sites track IP's, the ads might be inclined to "inject" certain ads more than others.I never see other ads but "free web hosting by Xisto - Web Hosting" or by Xisto... and I'm wondering if this is due to my firewall privacy control that blocks 3rd party cookies and removing private header information. My IP address is often recorded as "BlockedReferral" for most trackers. This is due to my current firewall.
Spyda 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2007 Since, the last time I posted my topic on Jan 7 2007, I have not seen one trace of any pornographic ads at all! Don't know why though , maybe those ads were taken off or something, but in place I've seen more appropriate ads for this site. Maybe the reason for me seeing these in the beggining because I did visit a bikini site that had some sexual material because I wanted to buy a bikini for my girlfriend!? Or maybe I'm a porn addict and just am embarassed to admit it , anyway Traap17 still rocks
