The Godfather 1 and 2 and Lord of the Rings for me. Also the Matrix. THese films revolutionalised the way movies are made and were made just as they needed to be.

I don't watch many movies, but I've got to say that one of the best movies in terms of special effects has got to be 2001: A space odyssey. Space is like space. All technology is based off of scientific predictions in the 1950s-60s. The movie doesn't even need all that CGI to make it look believeable. In fact, the lack of CGI makes it look all the more real than any given movie that exists today.

My new favorite movie was 300 but a close second was the SAW movies... I love horror movies, but 300 actually tickled my fancy which is strange for an action adventure type movie... plus ive always loved the spartans :-p

Wouldn't it matter what mood you were in? Even genres have sub-genres... intelligent comedy, slapstick, satire, dark comedy, etc.
Some of my favorites are Fight Club, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kill Bill 1 & 2, etc.

I also like Scarface, Edward Scissorhands. I don't know... it depends on my mood.

O... Donnie Darko also.

+ it is really hard to pick all time favorites because there are so many. you also get in this mood right after you see a good one that makes you feel like it is your fav. but the next day you like another better

I don't know really... I have watched sooo many movies that I cannot even keep track. But one thing which I don't understand is that why is Pirates of the Caribbean so over-rated?Its not that great a movie.ShaistavThanks

Well everyone knows that the best films are comedy films and that the best comedy film is Top Secret! so that's where my vote would have to go. Genius from Zucker, Zucker & Abrahams.

Hmmm it's hard to choose from so many movies...I think I do like the Matrix series the most and am extremely curious about that new Transformers movie (old youth sentiment)

Best Movie Of All Time?, what is the best movie of all time? Hard question and harder answer..For me there are many best films of all time.But the best one which i saw many times is Donnie Darko.Why? It is story about young boy and girl and this stories i like. If anybody didn't see it ..Just look at it..I saw it 8times+ Second story is Green Mile or Band of Brothers..

everybody likes different types of movies, but I've really enjoyed The Matrix (yeah HoRus!) and Trading Places, which is a hilarious and interesting movie about trading on the stock market. I also really liked Ice Age because Scrat is soooo kyuut!

Gahh I like alot of movies but if I had to pick a few it would be covenant, or fast and furious tokyo drift, maybe even some anime movies like the full metal alchemist one. They are all great movies I liked them cause they have a great story to it but there are some that doesn't have a good story to it buyt I think it's funny and great like napoleon dynamite and Borat haha.

I really like the Matrix series of movies, they have really cool effects and they are different and original compared to most shooting movies, but I also like movies like big fish, gladiator, there are a lot of cool movies out there. I agree with the person that said that it really depends on the mood, I rarely like to see a movie again, a lot of time has to pass for me to enjoy it because I will already know what is going to happen and how it is going to happen, so for me it is not as exciting as seeing it the first time. I also hate to read the reviews or what the movie is about before ever watching it.

idk about best movie ever but the movies i like are fast and furious 1,2,3, rush hour 1,2,3, redline euro trip and gone in 60 seconds and not another teen movie and van wiler

Personally for me, It'll have to be Bad Boys. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were special as partners in those movies. Although I didnt mind the more commercialised ones such as Independence Day, Men In Black and many varied action movies (inc Terminator 1, 2 and 3), many of em didnt do it for me. Although I didnt mind the James Bond classics, including Pierce Brosnan's Bond movies in the mid 90s.As for romantics and the like, I dont really watch much of those movies, but one notable movie, Titanic, was probably okay in regard to story telling, but I wouldnt put it up there imo considering the many talking and love scenes before the action happened at the end (eg Ship sunk).The Matrix wasnt that bad on original release, but their sequels I felt wasnt really as good as the first one, and looked like it was only released half-effortedly for quick money (commercial reasons).
