As a common American...

 

First, I thank that this is posted.

 

Second, I am a recent graduate of Indiana University - one of the most liberal colleges in the United States. Based on my opinion and my environment, I find that most (not some, but most - more than 50%) hate our president for his decisions and believe the country is falling apart very quickly.

 

I will not go into preaching, for I am not about that. However, I do think about this a lot. Do you remember your life - the country - or the world - before September 11, 2001? It was only months before Bush's term. The words 'terrorism', 'war', 'war on Islam', and of the such - more or less, terms of fear; government conspiracy; war; etc, was not existent outside of a history class.

 

Today these are words that everyone thinks about every day.

 

Truth is that most Americans are not idiots. We unfortunately have a leader who is. He is because he does not listen to Americans. You cannot state that Americans love or even like their president if their president does not listen to them.

 

Here is a great example. We are a country found on democracy - the people's republic - the people's voice. Even though more than 50% of all polls of the American public were against to even going into war, and even against our president (look at current polls), decisions were made by one man that ignored the terms of democracy.

 

He made decisions that most Americans disagreed with. He made the world view on the American people and the United States as a controlling dictatorship rather than a Diplomatic nation.

The reason is simple;Since World War II Americans have had their hand in every major conflict in the world. And with every conflict, we leave a presence. We're currently occupying 130 countries and building more military bases around the world, while at the same time they are CLOSING bases here. I know this because the Ingleside Naval station just 30 minutes from here was closed.We sponsor our own form of terrorism. Unclassified CIA documents prove this, we staged a coup in Iran in the 50's and overthrew an elected official, then place a military dictator in power.We put Sadam in power.We trained and were allied with Osama Bin Laden.We fund BOTH sides of the Israeli / Pakistan conflictAnd lets get one thing straight. The "Americans don't do it, the government does" argument is pure baloney. It is within the power of the people to elect Representatives who will accomplish what they want done. But our entire election process has been turned in to American Idol, and that coupled with a agenda-backed, censoring media keeps all the Honest and diligent candidates out of the limelight.The Senate and Congress have the power to override ANY veto the President signs. The only problem is, no one is willing to stage a filibuster, because they'd rather go on vacation than save thousands of American lives.Americans are too apathetic for their own good. And thus is the basis to why we have as much blame as the government does.Anyways, enough ranting for tonight

People love to come to America for a holiday, especially those from other developed nations.. such as England, NZ, Australia, China, etc.. even Canada lol. But I'd have to say when it comes to the world of sports, many would have to agree that arroganace of the winning time urks many people. So therefore its natural in many sporting events where the yank dominate for the spectators and supporters of opposing countries to hate em.As for the politics/war sides of things, thats another story. I'm sure the other posters has gone in depth about this, especially the events of World War I, World War II and the Cold War with the old Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), or also known back in the day as "Soviet Russia" by many in the 80s.

I've been trying to figure out a way that we can end world hatred and bring about peace. I really wish to know what exactly it would take to end all these wars. I am aware that war might be human nature, but consider this quote by Jimi Hendrix: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace"

 

I know that every person has his or her own beliefs, and that everyone will, generally speaking, have their enemies. But is it possible to end these pointless deaths? We're all humans and why should some have more power than others? Obviously some would say that its because we need someone to ensure our safety, but if the world knew peace why would we need a world police?

 

One of the main things I'm interested in is how we can end the Israeli/Arab war. They fight over land that holds meaning to them. But could they not live side by side? Could they just accept each others views and move on with life? And I understand that some feel that Israelis don't deserve the land because they weren't there first, and I can agree with that, but where else should the Israelis go? If they learned to share with each other perhaps they could overcome this.

 

As for America attacking countries for their minerals and oil, I am 150% against this. I feel that we should use our own minerals and oil or at least purchase the oil for reasonable prices. Stealing is stealing both in America and in other countries. We lack the right to move into other countries and steal their oil. If they wish to sell it then we may purchase it. If they don't want to sell it then we have absolutely NO right to move in and declare war for it. America needs to focus on the well being of America and leave other countries to their business. Just as friends let their friends solve problems, the same should apply in wold economics.

Personally I don't believe others hate us because of Bush... has come way back my friends.Why does the world hate America?Let see... lets take this in parts or regionsWhy would someone in the AMERICAS hate America?Precisely for that reason, we have claimed the name of two whole continents to identify ourselves. Moat people in this region of the world hate us for that reason. They consider that an American is anyone from this continent (as a matter of fact they are correct) but we have coined the term to mean a U.S. Citizen. Why would someone in the Middle-East hate America?This has a more religious approach, most of those countries are Islam followers... are daily life conflicts with theirs. Why would someone in Asia hate America?We have tried to kick their *bottom* more then once... what more can we expect?... it's called resentment. Why would someone in Europe hate America?Two world wars... always joined war and put an end to it... resentment....Now a more general approach...Why would the world hate America?It's our life style, they hate us for what they see in tv... because of the image those people traveling around the world leave of the Americans... what would yo expect of a countries college students if all your here about them is Girls Gone Wild? I can understand why some middle east countries resent America, especially Iraq after the recent WMD controversy by GWB JR, but yes TV and stereotypes from various american shows can really tend to seeth some people in overseas countries. Especially the "Chuck a shrimp on the barbie" style lines or so, when some of them may have not been to Australia, for example.As for the WMD controversy, yes there has been some views presented by others on why the USA would've attacked Iraq, esp with the reason of Oil, and/or minerals to replenish their own supplies. I'm on the fence on this, but still the stereotypes on the TV eg Girls Gone Wild as stated by the poster above tends to convince a viewer to make a judgement.

I don't hate americans. I hate america. Or at least its goverment

 

They claim to be allowed the reedom of speech yet cannot see that therre is no such thing. Ever. Anywhere. Speak your minds and you will be scrutinised and scourged.

 

The goveremtn on america is so focused on ruling the states that they overcomplicate everything

 

If each state had its own goverment the place would be alot better.

Each country could make its opinion without saying it as an american.

 

The church is misguiding people. I don't say don't believe (sadly I'm atheist)

But to say theres a God in a world like ours is just sad. Belief can be a good thing as it gives us a hope for purpose. But the religon is just our attempt to justify that existence without meaning or purpose.

America is so sure that humans have purpose that many states are ruled by christian extremists.

America had a war over black slaves north vs south right?

The war was so extreme over this that far to many people died

 

But the fact they needed to war to get rid of a century of slavery and then north has the cheek to say they support the black men! The black community in us has is so harsh and that much prejudicel history that wont just wash away.

 

I hope obama barrack wins the presidential election. Then wee will see what america does when a black man can command america.(I hope he isnt assassinated seriously)but if he is somehow inhumed the it just proves that the american dream is fake that now one who is black or foriegn can be president

hmm...first of all, i don't hate all americans i only hate those who support racism and the government salvaging money from 3rd world countries like gathering healthy children from those countries and take care of them watching them grow,then get them to do hard labour with an excuse of helping their parents take care of them as they are poor.(same with many other powerful western countries) but why not educate them on not giving birth to so many kids?i just think that the government is just gathering more manpower for whatever they are doing.

I will tell you why I hate America and Americans. I hate America for it is lie and corrupt media brainwashing it is own people. I hate America for the Unconditional support to Israel to basically increase hope in with Palestinians. I hate America for using the word TERRORISM/AL Qaida to kill innocent people, children, and women because they have different religion practices and they don't agree with the Americans invading their country. And last but not least, I hate America for enslaving African people using them as animals, for using the atomic bomb on Japan killing Civilians, and it is white supremacy. If you think carefully read what I said, and think about for 5 minutesyou will also hate your AMERICA. Now let me tell you why I hate the American people. Because they don't do nothing about the mad government they have, while they have the power to do so. They can impeach Bush, but they don't bother because they are too lazy to protest. They believe everybody who doesn't agree with their ideas is against them. How in the world do you expect for people to agree with whatever you say? Let see I hate them for saying they are 71% christian when in fact 65% of them don't know nothing about the religion. I hate them for criticizing anybody who dressess different than them. And last but not least I hate the American people for believing Islam is evil, because they heard it from TV or NBC, Fox 10, when they know a whole religion cannot be generalized paste on what a minor group like Osama have done, and they are dumb because they don't read. America the land is good place to live in, but the people who are in charge are evil, and the citizens who can definitely change by refusing wars on innocent nations, and exploiting other nation's resources, but don't do nothing about, and they start crying when one Soldier dies in Iraq, don't they see the 100's of children and women dying by the American soldiers. I wonder what Amercan people would do if all the sudden China invaded them and kill their people, just like the Americans are doing now in Iraq. I wonder when will they realize that lying to their people is not the option. Why do they control the news? Is that a free country? where everything is done according to the evil government. The people in poorer countries such as Somalia, and Iraq, are protest to impeach bush, but unfortunately their voice don't matter, and the American people who have such power to impeach bush and whose voices matter ARE NOT WILLING TO DO SO. When America invades a country, they are fighting in other people's soil, so how dare they call that country they invade terrorist country? How dare they call you a terrorist or al qaid, when you refuse their occupation upon your country? basically they mean, DON'T DISAGREE WITH US, and if you do they will somehow kill you. Weather they say you are terrorist, or they blame you on something else. Look Americans if you are not dumb, if you are not lazy, and most importantly if you wish to see America in the geological map in the next 50 years, do something now, don't support your government, protest, impeach the president. The world wouldn't hate you, if you you just used common sense.

You obviously have no knowledge about how the American political process works. For someone who claims that all American's are dumb and lazy, you yourself have not doen your homework when it comes to the process of impeachment. The American people DO NOT have the power to impeach their own president. The Senate and the House have that power, period. Plus, just becasue I president is impeached, does not mean they are thrown out of office. President Clinton was impeached for his lies about Monica Lewinsky. Impeachment is a judicial process, not throwing someone out of office.

 

As to repeatedly stating that Americans do nothing about their government or their wars, please see the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have protested against the wars their government has raged. Once again you have zero knowledge of how the political process of a republic (the US is not a democracy) works.

 

Do not spout your opinions before being educated on that fact. I am guessing you live in a country that's media brainwashes you more than the America media 'brainwashes' its people. Yes, no Americans read and that is why Americans have one of the most educated and smart populatuions in the world. Obviously, Americans don't read. On the subject of criticizing people who dress differently than them. Imagine a woman trying NOT to wear a burkah in an Islamic Republic, I'm sure that would go down real well.

 

I could go on for hours about how uneducated you are, but go follow your own advice and read first before writing false facts.
