  1. And a happy and successful year to both of you and all those celebrating this festival. I know that it is as important to you as our Christmas, but for different reasons. Enjoy the festivals and good luck to you.

  3. Semantically, Life is the absence of death and Death is the absence of life. I'll let you figure it from there.ps: I keep telling people that using forums on the 'net IS a life, but... they don't believe me...

    Joomla Help

nope, not me, but someone will come along shortly. Have you asked at their support forum?
  6. I live in a small town and street begging doesn't exist here. But every once in a while, somebody will be hitchhiking through town and get stranded for a day or two. The roads get closed by slides a couple of times a year, or blizzards, etc. When this happens, some of them are out and about asking for money to get by with. Rather than give them money, in case they are buying alcohol or drugs, I offer to take them to a bakery or snack counter and buy them dinner or lunch rather than give them money. This way, I know they are spending the dollars in a proper way. Not that I have a dis-like of alcohol, rather, I then know that they are eating. All I ask in return, if they ask or offer, is that they recognize my contribution to them by doing someone else a similar act of kindness some time in the future when they are able to. It makes the world a better place.
  7. Still nothing on google. My thoughts are with him. That escape option sounds good.
  8. Ah Ha!!! Found a way that works, but it is a hack... I really never thught it would make a difference, but placing a non-breaking-space between the words holds them together on one line just like I wanted it to do. Doesn't seem to affect the Firefox, either. So, end of story, thanks for looking at this for me... If you red this and have any other ideas, please post them here. I will watch this topic for a few days.
  9. Nope, I want this:Word1Word2 Word3Word4See now? Force a lf/cr after the first and third word. and IE still won't work to do that.FF behaves absolutely perfect. The br's do what they are told to. IE seems to have a mind of its own...
  10. The problem is best described as follows. The site in question has a four word Heading as a text field, is contained in a div tag, and I tried using br tags to control the display of the words such that the layout would follow a set pattern. ie: line 1 = 1word, line 2 = next two words, and line 3 = the last word. It seems like no matter what I do, Internet Explorer displays the words one line at a time, one word on each line. Is this an IE problem? Firefox displays the Heading exactly as I want, but IE doesn't even come close. <div><h1>WordOne<br />WordTwo WordThree<br />WordFour</h1></div>or<div><h1>WordOne WordTwo<br /> WordThree WordFour</h1></div>or<div><h1>WordOne <br />WordTwo<br /> WordThree WordFour</h1></div>or<div><h1>WordOne WordTwo <br />WordThree <br />WordFour</h1></div> ALL display in IE5 as you might expect this to be displayed: <div><h1>WordOne <br />WordTwo <br />WordThree <br />WordFour</h1></div> Example output regardless of where the br / tags are placed... WordOne WordTwo WordThree WordFour And there is lots of vacant space to the right, so it is not the length of the output line which is forcing a lf/cr. Any suggestions??? (except don't use IE5?)
  11. A couple of questions come to mind real quick.First of all, does Xisto have plans to update the fantastico in cpanel to implement this new version? Secondly, does the new version accept a databse created in the current version 2.17 (I think) that is installed here now? What I mean to ask is: will the current version transfer over with little if any difficulties.
  12. Aren't start up operations fun?If I ever had a perfect job, I either quit or got fired... Hang in there. Doesn't sound like it will get any worse. Hope you get paid for all your time and effort.
  13. Welcome and enjoy your visits here. There are lots of topics available in the forum. Read back in the archives. Be sure to use the search procedure before start new threads. You will find that there are lots of users here to assist with your questions. Good luck at the trap.
  14. I am using a mac right now. I also have a windows laptop. I miss the backspace and rt-click buttons sometimes. Other than that, you just get used to it. I don't really notice much difference.
  15. rejected,Please allow me to enter the competition for this domain name. If I am successful, I would donate the domain to the local Minor Hockey Association whose purpose is to provide young boys and girls the opportunity to learn the sport of Hockey and assist with their development as players. Sports organizations teach sport specific skills, but they also develop the member's social skills and citizenship. There are many benefits to playing sports, whether it is Hockey, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, you name it. It teaches Fair Play and creates opportunities for youngsters to travel, stay fit, meet new friends.I know that whoever receives this award will enjoy and benefit from it, but this is an opportunity to spread to benefit to 120 current players.Thank you.

    Hi Im New

Hi and welcome to Xisto. Or should I say shalom? You will find quite a variety of topics on the forum and an even bigger variety of personalities posting here. Most are pretty decent folks that will help you by answering your questions and assisting wherever they can. Enjoy yourself. Have fun.
  17. The information you seek can be found from here. The first level is 20 megs, the second is 150 megs. Notice from cmatcmextra: Fixed error.
  18. I have a phpbb running under the fantastico in my cpanel. The mySQL file is 5+megs. What size is considered typical? Do I have to worry about the size at all? Will the application run any faster if the forum is 'pruned'?Backups are performed weekly so I am not concerned about loss of data. I was just wondering about how efficient the phpbb code is. Will the forum run as quickly if the database is allowed to enlarge to twice the size? Or should I consider the auto-prune as an option. Also, is there a way to select which topics get pruned and which ones don't? What do you have to say about this issue?
  19. let us know when and where it is posted and we'll have a look.
  20. I'm going to go out as the Town Drunk. I figure if I start drinking now, it'll be easy to come up with the costume... LOL
  21. NASA and space exploration is awesome. Can't wait to see someone else stroll across the Lunar surface. And the US of A isn't in the Space Program alone. The Manipulator Arm on the Shuttle is Canadian designed and built. Canada also has Astronauts in the NASA program and I don't know what it costs us, but I'd bet we pay our share.
