I had ol' Intel Pentium 4 (Windows Xp) installed in my computer when I got it like 5-6 years ago, got it for like $1000 bucks with the monitor,printer,speakers and video card and everything. It was like the fastest computer back then, i never ever had a single problem with it. XP was blazing fast too. During these 6 years, I have NEVER EVER changed my computer, only my OS. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it like a year ago. I noticed that the computer was a wee bit slower than XP, so I got a better video/gfx card and more RAM. It started working faster than XP now, even with all the eye-candy turned on. So, yea, Windows 7 is worth the price and the upgrading with the ol' computer. I don't think I would ever go back to Vista or XP again.

That's a very long rant or whatever and will surely earn a lot of myCENTS.

On the point of inea's post was improving, I noticed that he/she (I am way too lazy to verify) really improved one bit at a time. I am still confused on some of the post that was made though.

On the point of decreased myCENTS, I noticed that since 4th week of September until today, the points goes way slow.

That's only because the mycents haven't updated in a looong time... I'm sure when it updates again, everyone will get a couple of bucks from their posts.

What? If my original post still says something about white lines (or something like that), I figured out what happened and fixed it.

I kind of over placed my rank. I should've used a small/medium sized single engine prop. aircraft. The reason I used the one that I did is because It was already on my HDD.

I can load it just fine and it loads in a second too. :)It looks a little "simple", I don't know if you wanted it to be like that but I would try using a better stock image, one with it landing or taking off. I sleep about 7-8 hours on weekdays and about 10-12 hours on weekends It depends on how tired I am from the work I did that day And I stopped sleeping twice a day from like kindergarten lol... If i sleep twice a day, I can't go to sleep at night.

Well, today I got a reason to worry about, just received third and the final billing notice from Xisto - Support, failing to make payment will result in my account suspension I wasn't thinking if that can happen......really I am worried now, don't want my account suspended. But, still I need $4 to pay my invoice
Now, can anyone tell me whether I should send a support ticket to Xisto - Support or not?? Is there anyone still listening to support queries! And, if I send the support ticket, asking them to cancel the invoice generated, will they do it? Also, will return around $5 which were deducted automatically when my invoice was generated. I surely want to renew my domain name....but, I need little bit more time to collect enough mycents so that I can pay my invoice......
Also, if any person have any sort of idea that how much time is left for me to collect mycents, it would be really helpful too.....

Try Apple's iPhone iOS, it's the only one I have used for a long time (other than "normal" phones) and I don't see any need to change from it. It's top of the line and it's actually one of the original ones. They also have updates like every 3-4 months. The App store is big and packed too, and most of the apps are only $.99 cents. It's the best one out there if you ask me.

Your PageRank entirely depends on the amount of and quality of the backlinks that you have, most people (i too) think that it has something to with the content or the SEO, but it doesn't.

You have probably lost some of your backlinks or you have built some link exchanges that Google terms as "illegal" to their TOS. If you create a link exchange (link wheel or whatever you want to call it) on another site and that site has a link to your site, the crawler goes from your site onto their site and on that site, if the crawler finds a link back to your site, then your pagerank decreases.

But don't worry, you can get more links and your site can get back to your original PR and maybe even higher. They get updated every 3 months, so you have plenty of time

Yeah, true. America is having a huge trade deficit, she has a very low tariff barrier thus making imports more profitable. China being a communist country ,the economy is at the hands of the government thus their workers get paid less than us but the government itself enjoys huge surplus ( I am not sure but I think they dont have to fight over tax issues so much like we do )enabling huge investment in infrastructure and military.Developed economies have reached their saturation point but the Indians and Chinese have a huge manpower advantage so we need to keep ourselves ahead in technology and other areas like nuclear power which is going to be the ultimate source of energy in a few decades.

We don't need to worry much about Technology and military, at least for now. The US Defence Budget spend more money in the Afghanistan War in 2009 than China's entire Military expenditure. That's how much money we have and how much we can waste it, and it still won't be a biggie because that's only 1/10 of the budget of US Defence for 2009.

What I think should be at the top of our list for the next few decades is to reduce production in other countries and stop outsourcing and keep everything within the borders, or maybe Canada or Mexico That's the real power of China, we depend too much on the imports, and they depend on the exports alot. It's too complex because it takes less to manufacture and hire people in China than it does in developed countries... I wish somebody will come up with a solution to this problem...

Indians and Chinese had great civilizations when the Europeans were still leaving in caves. But it's like a race..towards civilization ! Europeans started the race very late but after the renaissance they did not look back and overtook all the civilizations by the 20th century. The thing is that now we should not be stupid enough to just relax and let others come near us in this race.

True, but the thing is, we are slipping away... slowly though. But the only way the United States can still sit at the top of the superpoweres is to obtain some kind of basis, a way to share the "ulimate" superpower with other countries.

We need to find a way to live in a "POST-AMERICAN WORLD". That is the only way America can survive the new world as the ultimate power.

There is a reason why some problems like the problems between some countries are not solved by them, but instead they turn to America to give them a solution (there are many examples of this). America is ONLY country who can do this, not even the allies of the countries could.

The bottom line is that America needs to change to adapt in the new world that emerging with China and India as a huge power... it is every hard too, the British failed at it at the beginning of the 20th century -- but we can learn from them and correct their mistakes.

I know what you mean, he does "care" in a normal sort of way, but if you look at it... he all the mods and the admins haven't been online and active for the whole year ('10).

 

Moderators usually log in few time a week to check on the spam and stuff, but they almost never post anything. The Admins are even worse, both of them making 2-3 posts every MONTH.

 

I get it that BF is busy with something and Opaque is shifting offices are something, but how long is it going to take to make a few posts on the forum? Now, think about AAALLLLLLLL the threads we have made about the issues with Xisto, NOW, every few of the posts there get answers (like in a gazillion ) and the admin's never answer our questions and stuff.

it was posted on 25 April 2010, more than 4 1/2 months ago, with over 80 posts, there are NONE of them Moderators or Admins. That's what i mean by nobody cares about the forum or what WE say. You can form your own opinion on this...

As per my calculation this site gets 30k-40k visitors and that makes it high in revenue stream. Imagine the google impression rate for ads in this site. You can also guess the kontera ads value. Opaque does makes money and from the looks of it top 20 posters mycents are recovered in day or two easily. Because we are writing content and driving traffic for this site. Look at all the forum sections which are targeted by opaque.

So.... OpaQue is basically running a automatic site where he doesn't need to do anything (except for the mycents of course) he just sets up some categories, and we just post something and he gets big bucks out of it.... For all he cares, he doesn't need to do anything -- we will keep coming back for the mycents. And even if we aren't there, he could make money out of all the thousands of threads that are already here. Maybe that's why he doesn't care that much :/

The next superpower will be the nation with smartest people, listen! India and China,both are making money and we may be tempted to say that their economy is improving but there is one thing that most western companies are setting up their outsources there due to very cheap labor and their population is being employed. Bangalore, the high tech city of India today follows orders from their HQs in California, it's true that 1/7th of NASA are Indians, it is so because they represent in large numbers from their more than one billion population but they did not produce Einstein or Oppenheimer ! There goes the saying ''ONE LION IS BETTER THAN HUNDRED FOXES '' Yes the smartest people in the world love AMERICA and indeed even academically successful Indians and Chinese end up in America. There are more number of Chinese and Indians in USA than Jews. All of them were raised in the same social environment but have you wondered why there are Spielberg or Dell or Larry Page among the latter only ? there are some following reasons why India and China cannot be super power....
1. Both India and China have political problems, while China is run by communist dictators, largest democratic Indian parliament is full of corrupt,bad and ignorant leaders( even criminals ). Tell me how will these people make a superpower nation. Indian politicians are not committed to development! look at the roads or the buildings they build or otherwise hundred of Britons could not have subdued the millions of them !
2. They are making most of the money from foreign companies .
3. Europeans and Americans are ahead of them in their quest of knowledge. Some say India and China are becoming high-tech nations but they imitate technology not innovate ! there are industry workers rather than entrepreneurs.
4. I know Indians who watched Bollywood before but now find it quite dull and silly compared to Hollywood. Look smartest things and innovations are done here. The rest copy it.
5. The biggest advantage, during crisis neither China nor India will have any powerful ally. EU, America and Israel are always there as one !

SO IT IS HARD TO SAY IF AMERICA CAN MAINTAIN ITS STATUS IF THEY CONTINUE TO ELECT PRESIDENTS LIKE BUSH WHO WILL CONTINUE TO WASTE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN SHOWING ITS POWER TO THE WORLD BUT THE NEXT SUPERPOWER WILL CONTINUE TO BE AT THE HANDS OF THE AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS.IF THEY CREATED 'ATOM BOMB' IN THE SECOND WILL CREATE 'DEATH STAR' IN THE THIRD. But you look down at China and India, I read a book once that said that China was building a huge naval fleet during the 14th or 15th century (im not good at dates)and it was 100x bigger than the ships that were used by Vasco de Gama and Chris Columbus when they were exploring, more than a century later. They were led by a intelligent naval leader/commander and the emperor supported all the expeditions and spend alot of money on it. They were the kings of the sea in Asia and they conquered many lands, but they also had many problems in their land by invaders and it wasn't protected as much (ding! thats why they built The Wall) also, and more importantly when the emperor died, the next emperor didn't support the expeditions as much and focused on the country. Though they have their faults, they have the capacity.

Who knows, maybe if they had continued their expeditions -- we might be working for them now and they might be the mighty superpower of the world.

Hi. As you may or may not have noticed... my signature is no longer working, mainly due to the fact that my free host at hosthelpers changed owners and decided to delete everyones hosting thing without asking or any warning... which also made me lose half of all of my posts (3 months work all lost), as well as all the coding and stuff and everything.
Mind you... I DID make a back up, but then the hard drive on my macintosh crashed, and that was when I really lost everything. Kinda sad.
But yeah.

Now, I'm using another host... (also free), and hopefully this host will last longer. I am no longer interested in making a site that needs time and effort, but I still want to make one that is interesting or something. :/ If you look now, you will only see a blank page with one advertisment and one google search form and something that goes along the lines of "Congratulations! Your account is active!" or something.

So... a blog is out of question, but I still want to make something interesting and something where people will actually come a visit... once in a while? I don't know.

What do you think my new site should be? The only thing I need is easy with no hassles.

Wow, that is just plain bad luck that even your backup had to be lost, sorry for you by the way... did you try getting a backup from the host or copying back your posts using Google Cache options? You might get a little and get it back somehow.

Personally, I don't have a clue what the domain name "charmainelo.com" is related to, I get a mental picture of a lizard when I say it haha. I remember that it used to be a personally blog kind of thing, with philosophy thing mixed to it, you should try doing that in a grander-size now, because you seem to be into philosophy. Maybe a site where many people can share their ideas. People LOVE when they can be part of a site, you can try doing that.

If you can tell what kind of "niche" that you want to get into, maybe I can give you some more ideas...

Wow... what's with all the new regulations and stuff. But yeah, like you said... I don't think anyone needs it anyway, since theres not a lot of posts lately. Opaque must be scared of spam or something, though I've never seen it in here anyway, due to nice members like us. Haha. Oh well, that's good though. I was thinking it's a limit per month or something, and I won't be able to post anymore until next month.
So that's a relief for me.

If we get more posts = we get more mycents. And with those mycents, we are ripping off money from Xisto - Web Hosting, so its better we have less mycents, less posts. But thats what i don't get, if there are more posts, doesn't opaque get more money from ads? Well, no one has reached 50 before, i think simpleton got until 35 or 45 but he couldn't finish it.

Either way, I haven't seen the "you can only post 50 posts until (this time)" for a long time now, for more than a month. Hmm... come to think about it, I haven't seen it since I became a KS/Trap graphics member... maybe that disables it or something. Haha, it's funny I just realize that now. Hmm... now to make alot of posts and get to 51 and laugh at the rest of you... in my dreams.
