Building My First Instrument 4-string fretless bass
Cerb replied to Cerb's topic in General Discussion
Finally! Another person near my age that knows how to type proper English. I figured it would never happen (I'm 15 by the way). You mentioned the odd fretjob. That was one reason I decided to go with a fretless. Not only that, but I love the sound of a fretless instrument -- so warm, and round. It's funny that I'm trying to tackle the neck-through, but am not really looking forward to doing a fretted neck when the time comes. ... Insanely expensive. This bass is the main reason I went out and got a job recently (making drinks in a coffee shop). I'm about to drop another $5-600 on this baby, and once finished it will have cost around $1200. The good news is the fact that it will be worth far more than any mass produced instrument of the same quality. I'm certainly not skimping on the hardware. Only expensive, well-made pieces will be going on the bass. Thanks much. -
You answered your question in your own post. IT BOTHERS PEOPLE!!! Plus, you cannot say that some of the morons don't do it to bother or to be cool, because they do. They don't want to show off their personalities. That can be done in many, many more ways other than blasting music into your head and making others listen to it.

I, personally, would not even consider using eBay without Paypal. Though, many do. The way I understand it, money order is pretty safe. You might want to look into using that.

What exactly is attractive about turning your music up. I just find it very uncomfortable.

Strange Thing I Saw Anyone know what it could be?
Cerb replied to FuChelle's topic in General Discussion
I would certainly have to agree with truefusion in this instance. Though, I have seen balls of light floating. I just happened to watch the one in question for about 6 hours. I was outside laying in a hammock. In no way could I have been sleeping, because I was constantly getting up, and I didn't go to sleep the entire night. I stayed up through to the next day. The clostest it ever got to me was about 30 feet. -
For all of the bassists, have you ever heard of Talkbass.com. If not, check it out. There is an awesome forum, and we're all like one big family. My username is the same as it is here.

I play bass. A few of my major influences are Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, etc. Not only do I play bass, but I'm also building my own (totally from scratch, mind you. No kits for me) at the moment. You can check it out at tbbassprogress.blogspot.com if you would like.

And I quote: I like all music. Everything from classical to death metal. Rap is one that I enjoy to a degree. Jazz happens to be my favorite. If someone was walking around blasting jazz through their EARphones, while their EARphones are around their neck, it's going to annoy me. Please point out to me where I said this. The genre was not part of the argument. The genre was merely an example. Once again, they are called EARphones. One doesn't have to blast music around their neck to be able to hear it. Do unto others...?

So, why exactly is the Orange software loaded onto the phone in the first place? Is it an optional product? I've never come across this sort of thing, so it interests me somewhat.

Music to me, as a musician, is everything. I always have music with me, and I'm always listening to said music. I mostly listen to jazz and classical, but any well composed music can really get me going. There are certain songs that can just take me away. One such song is Jaco Pastorius' Continuum. It's a soft sounding, chorded bass solo with fast, fingered runs throughout it. I can just close my eyes and be in another place. I can actually 'see' the music as it is playing. Also, being as I'm a bassist, low, soft music really inspires me. If a song doesn't have a nice low end to it, it interests me very little. The low tones are so soothing, and I just relate to them more than I do the shrill highs that some instruments produce.

<rant>What is it with people listening to rap through their headphones so loud that anyone within a miles range can hear them? I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news people, but no one else could give a *BLEEP* about what you are listening to! Turn it down before I shove those headphones so far up in you that you are tasting plastic for a month. Plus, it always seems to be the cliche rap song; annoying clicky beat with a lot of hi-hat, horrible lyrics, and just all around badly composed. Now, don't get my wrong, it's not just rap that people do this with. That just seems to be the major offender. A lot of people blow heavy metal through them aswell. Not only do they turn their music up to horrendous levels, but they wear the headphones around their necks! If you want to listen to music, put the damned things on your ears.I've invested in some nice in-ear headphones that treat me very well. Even with them turned up all the way, you can barely hear them if they are not in your ears. Plus, they block all outside noise. For $40 dollars, they are a Godsend. Get some good earphones, people, and put them in your ears, not around your neck.Next time I see someone doing this, I think I may just have to choke them with their own headphones.</rant>

I, personally, find drinking pretty pointless. The only reason I ever see myself drinking is for the taste, and I certainly won't be drinking beer.

I've just recently bought a e317 Samsung that I really enjoy. It's a flip phone with a 1.5 (I believe) megapixel camera. For the money it can't really be beat. I got it for $100 with a $50 rebate. The only thing I do not like about it is the fact that I cannot hook it up to my computer with a USB cable. That means I have to send all of the pictures I want from the phone to my email. This, of course, costs money each time. Overall, I'd give the phone a 7/10.

Cerb replied to kashvet's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm guessing you had a lot of time on your hands ? A few of the sites are very interesting, as well as useful. My bookmark list gets that long after about 3-4 months. I actually have a folder in my documents that contains tons of exported bookmarks. It's sad, really. But, I may need them some day . -
Halloween And Christians Its origin and, should we celebrate it?
Cerb replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
I myself am a Christian, so I hate to be slumped into the 'we hate everything that doesn't have to do with God' group. So, please, don't be stereotypical. You did bring up a good point though. Cristmas was taken directly from the Roman Saturnalia -- a celebration for their family gods and the higher gods. Is Christmas, therefore, evil? -
Just let 'em do their thing, dude. It certainly isn't hurting you any.

My name's Taylor, and to quote my favorite movie of all time: I'm American honey. Our names don't mean *BLEEP*. -
Halloween And Christians Its origin and, should we celebrate it?
Cerb replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
What is with you and the origins of things? First it's your post about drums, and how they are evil because they were, at one time, used to call out demons. Now this? You're just getting pathetic now.I'll once again bring up my previous point that you overlooked last time. The Christian church used to wage wars, burn 'witches', and murder people who would not convert. Does this make christianity evil? Of course it doesn't. Halloween is nothing more than a time for children to go out and get a few pieces of candy. -
I don't think I could ever pick a favorite song, even if I sat and contemplated for a million years. One that certainly comes close, though, is 'Scenery' by Chick Corea. It's an amazing jazz piano solo. Some parts seem so disonant, but beautiful all the while. If you get the chance, check out the whole album Works by Chick Corea.

I found Xisto while searching through countless pages of free web hosts via a google seach. I'm so relieved that I have finally found a host with so many features that is free.

I've been using that site for years now. I've even found entire novels, so I don't have to buy the book.

I use gmail, mainly because of the POP access. Other email providers may have it now, but they didn't before I switched to gmail, and now I'm hooked. The only thing I don't like is that you cannot make separate folders for emails (though, I can in Outlook, which is all I use anyways). Apparently their tagging method is better than using folders, but I've yet to see why. MystiK1337, if you would like an invite, email me at cerberi@gmail.com. I have 100 unused invites that will never be put to use.

Your pronoun has no antecedent. How are we supposed to know who you are talking about. Other than that, this is, for the most part, mindless babbling. Please clarify what exactly it is that you are trying to say.

I've used Paypal for years and have never had trouble. Maybe it's a lack of understanding on the user side of things.

I'm certainly not the first person to ask when it comes to reviewing a website, but it does look nicely layed out. A little more content is in order, but the actual layout is great. Surprisingly, it loaded very fast on my stone-age 56k connection.
