Should All Games Have Manual Save/checkpoints?
H.O.D replied to The Simpleton's topic in Computer Gaming
I feel that if games were a bit shorter then the hassle of save points would be eradicated altogether, right? Save points should exist, but less in number and simultaneously, the game should also be short and sweet, satisfying to play. That way such irritations will be few in number. That's just my opinion - I know most of the people like long games with hard core action and all that stuff -
Hmm that seems good enough - thanks for sharing However, there's still the problem of getting 1000 visitors to view your page, isn't it? Now how on earth could I manage that?Of course with good content its possible but how to project that good content out to the audience?!! Could you kindly give some tips on how you managed to get your payment (i.e., so many views)

The concept sounds interesting although it is still doubtful as many websites have promised similar things in the past - could you give some kind of proof for this claim please? have you already earned off this website successfully? or are you still in the waiting stage?sorry to be so suspicious - after visiting so many such sites one cant help but think in this way

Scam Mails Alert Nigerian New Ways Forward
H.O.D replied to damoon's topic in Science and Technology
Scamming's been rampant through the years and its not gonna stop in a hurry - there are plenty of people who are being introduced to the internet daily and these people are fresh meat for the scammers - they set a trap for them and before they know it they're scammed - it's really sad but there's not much that can be done abut it. New users and old ones as well should be sensible enough not to let their guard down. Only then will they be able to fight these menace. -
Bill Gates: Biggest Loser :-) 7 billion loss :O
H.O.D replied to phpphp's topic in General Discussion
You can't expect someone like Bill Gates to be content with his money or spend it all on charity - of course he's doing a bit of good work now-a-days but he could certainly do more. All the time he has headache about Microsoft, even though he has officially left it - always on the urge of earning more and more money, looting more and more people by selling them weak software at high prices - that's what Microsoft is famous for Anyway back to the topic - Mr.Gates still has a lot of money to waste so I think he won't be too bothered by this "loss" fact. -
Question About Webhosting Space please come in
H.O.D replied to akira550's topic in Web Hosting Support
That's a good advice - 10GB bandwidth is more than enough for a starter website and assuming that it increases in popularity, you can easily upgrade to the next package within no time. If you choose the higher package right now and then don't have much traffic, your money (no matter virtual or real!) will go waste, isn't it? As for disk space, if you feel that you need more than 1GB, then you can easily choose the next option 5GB for a mere $0.99 extra. Isn't that convenient? That way you won't be spending too much and yet will be getting a fantastic deal out of it.I hope this helped you in some way. -
What Heppend To Demonoid? will it ever come back?
H.O.D replied to phpphp's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes some material is only available on select sites and people who are after that material will feel the loss if the site goes down. But these days a lot of material available in torrents is also available on file hosting networks and there are lot of people using this technique which is easier because you don't have to upload anything. If that material is not available even in this method, then that material must be really rare/precious and only a select group of people might be after it - so to cut long things short, except for a bunch of people, not many are going to miss demonoid -
conficker is said to have caused a lot of devastation and is hard to detect by anti viruses. But some strains of it have been blocked by most anti-virus programs and now it is not as bad as it was some months ago. But yes, it deserves to be called as the most dangerous virus of the year 2009.

tekken 3 is simply gold. It's one of the best games to be ever made (on any platform) and is surely legend. It sure takes some time to get used to playing as all the characters and using their many special moves, but once you get beyond that barrier it's simply amazing. My favourite is Eddy - I think once you master him you can be unbeatable in the game.

Google Adsense is increasing its regulations day-by-day and it's indeed becoming difficult to get accepted. Earlier google used to accept almost anyone who had a clean record, regardless of whether or not their site had valuable content. But now its completely different. with most people going against the terms, google is only accepting those with good content

Would You Use Ie Explorer Even If It Wasn't Bundled With Windows?
H.O.D replied to The Simpleton's topic in The Internet
IE has a really bad profile and almost everyone has something bad to say about it, even the devoted users themselves! I wouldn't go near IE myself. It's just too full of flaws! -
Why People Upload Other Peoples Video At Youtube?
H.O.D replied to stopthewarm's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well most people re-upload popular videos with the hope of earning money through adsense. Apart from that, they get a lot of profile views and that's another advantage. That's why you get to see a lot of similar videos for a particular search term. You Tube can't really control this type of behaviour because of its sheer size, so you just have to live on with it! People will never realize that they are robbing others of their credit for the work they've done -
Ubuntu Alternatives: Other Distros - Why Do People Use Them?
H.O.D replied to rob86's topic in Operating Systems
Most people say that Ubuntu is the most friendly distro for the new Linux user. It is indeed simple to learn compared to the other distros but it can be a bit complicated at times and the security is questionable too. That doesn't mean that you need to get worried and switch to another distro now! ALl linux distros are 100% secured than windows and all the attacks that work on windows wont work here. But linux hacking is getting more and more powerful by the day and Ubuntu lacks certain security features required to keep the user safe. I think this is the main reason why more advanced users use distros like Fedora, Mandriva, etc. -
VLC isn't perfect but that doesn't mean it's that bad...pick any player available out there and it won't be able to play at least one or two formats. So if VLC isn't able to play your required format, then I guess its just plain bad luck that the format you chose is the one vlc doesn't like!!! And as mahesh2k said, in such cases you can use wine to play your formats in media player classic and other players meant for windows.

Hey that's a cool offer but has it been effective so far? Most producers do not reveal the result of such experiments I would support such an experiment even if the music is bad, because by encouraging such moves we can get the rates of music to come down drastically and then piracy can be eradicated slowly. This is indeed a really brilliant idea. Could you tell me the name of the film so that I can support it? (I'm from India too so I can buy it )

Hi, Rana Here My introduction, My Story to find Trap17
H.O.D replied to phpphp's topic in Introductions
Hi there Rana and welcome back to Xisto forums. Are you sure you didn't register yourself 10 months ago?! Memory can sure play tricks sometimes. Otherwise I'm guessing that you have a short email address such as abcd@gmail.com and someone else might have used it just to see what Xisto offers. Anyway now that you're finally in, I hope to see you much around the forums and make a lot of active posts. The better your posts are, the more you get to earn so be careful about the quality of your posts! You earn virtual money for posting in the forums and that'll get you the moolah for creating your own site. Its easy enough to understand once you get started. Well, have a nice time -
Okay so gmail and gapps were down, but what's more shocking is that the entire google search network was down. People weren't losing money because of this, but Google was surely losing a lot of money and more importantly, it was losing people's trust and it's hard to get back this trust once you've lost it. Oh well, mistakes happen all the time and Google will surely look after this matter in the future. It's not as if the other search engines haven't made any mistakes in the past. Slowly everyone will forget and forgive!!

Hello Everyone,I'm just one of the many new members who register here at this forums. My profile tells me that I'm the 87,900th member to join the fourms and that tells me that this is a very active community indeed. Well I joined here after being referred by a friend and I think I'm going to like it in here. One of the first things I do after joining a foum is to check who has the most number of posts. Over here I think the count is over 7500. There was once a forum on which I got 10k posts but then suddenly the database was corrupted and everything was lost After that I decided not to waste my time and have now lost the spirit to post at that rate. Anyway I won't be trying to break any records here, I only came here to keep my hosting account alive. Thanks to my generous friend, my website is already up and running (he made the first payment) and now all I have to do is to earn enough to pay the monthly hosting bill and the yearly domain bill. That means you guys won't be seeing me much over here Anyway, I just wanted to say a 'hi' and a 'hello' to everyone present here. Now that I've said it, I'll take leave
