  1. Hiya people, this is just a quick thread (I do hope it turns out to be like that) for a question I have on a Google Apps custom Email question... and no, this isn't about verification. I will got back to that thread later if I need help...But anyway, so, I have decided to create TWO custom email addresses on my hosting account, one to put on my site if anyone wants to contact me, and one for personal purposes that I will only give to people that I meet in real life to reduce spam and (hopefully), chain mail. This is also an email that I will use to give people that are older than me and needs respect, and when I apply for a job or whatever, so it won't be like fluffy_this_email@something.com but something like contactme@something.com.Now, when I went through to do the Google Apps, I realised that because I had two email addresses, and Google only allows one email address to be the administrator email address, that I had a problem. I want the two emails to be separate, but I also don't want to log in and log out twice just to check them both. Is it possible to synchronize the two email addresses together, and yet keep them separate? I want to know which emails emailed to public@email.com and which emails emailed to personal@email.com so I know which is which. Also, if that is possible, then which email should I put in the Google Apps Registration Form? Which one do you think I should put? The public one or the personal one? I will be expecting more emails in my personal one though, unless my site gets very popular, though I won't be putting my hopes up on that. Does anyone have any advice for me? Just a quickie.
  2. Wow... I never knew that Xisto is bribing Google to put them in a better position... But thanks for the info. And yeah, I suppose that the fact that many subdomains are .trap17.com makes a difference too... as well as everyone posting... Hmm. So I'll have to make a successful forum if I want to be successful in Search Engine Optimization then. But I reckon Opaque's doing a pretty good job making Xisto known though. Or else Xisto wouldn't have been the first place I came to host my site and domain and learn other computer stuff.
  3. Ah... maybe that is why... I don't recognise any of the Asian songs though, so I won't be able to help you with it... But I just thought that you would like to know that if you have any Japanese songs in there, the Kanji (which is originated from China's Chinese) might sometimes be slightly different from the Chinese language, so even if they may look similar, the pronunciations and the appearance of the word will be completely different. I never knew you were into Korean/Chinese songs.... And Haha, I'm feeling lucky today... did that come from Google?
  4. No... the left column isn't the artist's names... I believe. Well... I don't know, because some of it might be, but others aren't a proper name, though they might be just a pen name, like Akon. But anyway, sorry for the delay. I couldn't find your thread in the Get-New-Posts page so I thought I might check the new topics page today... (yeah, I'm just that slow...) From the bottom to the top (because I did that for the other post as well, don't know why): ***english words in the list: T-Max, T-ara, PK Heman, One Love, Norazo Mc Meng (Mc Dream) Mc Meng (Mc Dream) ***english words in the list: Marie Sernehol..., Kara, Kara, Kara, Jewelry, Hot Issue, G-Dragon, FT Island, Flying Girls, Dream Girls, Devil Angel, DamBi, Brown Eyed Girl, Brown Eyed Girl, Bizniz, Big Bang, Big Bang, Alesha dixon, Akon, Akon Fei Lun Hai (Flying Wheel Sea - I don't know if this can be translated) <-------and this is where my limited Chinese comes in... because I learn simplified Chinese and this is traditional Chinese Something Jiao Lin (Not in my Dictionary) Something Jing Teng (I can't read the first and last characters, but the Teng should be correct) Pin Guan Something Di Pai Duan (I can't read again, don't want to make a mistake because there are lots of possibilities) Something Yi Lin (Not in my dictionary, sorry) Wu Yue Tian (Five Moon Days) Wo Bu guan Jia Zu (I don't care about my Family Tribe) Shao Nu Shi Dai (The Time of Young Ladies.... what kind of songs are you listening to?) Shao Nu Shi Dai (Again, The Time of Young Ladies) Fen Hong Jia Ren (Pink Beautiful Girl) Fan Hang Bo (Don't know...if it's right, no translation.) Tao/Yao Something (I haven't seen the word before) Sorry for my crappy translation this time... I didn't think I'd have to resort to my dictionary, and still come up with no possibilities... But if you search these words one my one in Google then they might have the PinYin for it (the latin letters) Note: I realised a typo where I typed the first list up... In the last one in the list that I typed up, it is "Ni de ge", not "Ni di ge"... (Your song). I'm sorry I got that wrong. Don't know why though. E and I are four letters apart from the keyboard.
  5. Haha, yeah, I agree... but it seems like I came a bit too late, didn't I? But anyway... just to clear things up, you'll have to buy a domain for your hosting if you want a no sub-domain domain... But you don't have the money for that yet. It costs 1000 myCENTS (aka 10 US dollars) to buy a domain for one entire year, but if you want your hosting first, you can use a free sub domain first... So in the box, you can type [domainname] . [Xisto.com]. But there are, of course, other sub domains that you can choose from. TO me, I don't like the 17 and the end of Xisto, right? So I will opt for a .xysis.com or a .qubis.com, both of which are also free sub domains provided by Xisto. When you get your ten dollars that you need to buy your domain though, you can then buy it and then link it through to your hosting account. It's just that easy!!!
  6. Heya Soviet Rathe!!!I've seen you around in the forums and have been chatting with you in the Shoutbox, but I guess we haven't really learnt much about each other, have we? Well, by that, I mean, I haven't read you introduction thread at Xisto, haven't I? Until now, that is... :)Well, I'm glad that you are settling down very quickly... and you've got quite some amount of myCENTS already in one day... I knew it was going to be so incredibly easy. But anyway, see you around!!! If you have any questions, just post them up and I will try and help you if I can, but I'm usually not good at computer things...
  7. Haha, I understand what you mean... unfortunately I don't seem to have to time right now... but I just thought that I might reply to your thread anyway... a few quickies here though... I'll start from the second column and from the bottom to the top: (there won't be any intonation marks though, sorry. I don't know how to add them on). Rvalkass or any other admins: DO NOT QUOTE!!! Because I really did type them all up and it took a lot of time and I am late for school now and yeah... And I didn't type in Chinese either because it would break the "No other languages rule other than English" on Xisto Zhun bei kai shi (Get ready to start) Huang Hua (Lies) ***engish words in the list: Gloria, he Couple, Superman, LUV D.N.A., Indian boy, The boy I used to know, Wanna Wo bu dong (sorry, I can't read the third letter, so I'm just guessing for this one - it means "I don't understand", if that is right) Bai ma wang zi (white horse prince - like snow white, if you get what I mean) ***engish words in the list: Rally, 4minute, Heartbreaker Chun Wang (Spring Watch? Hard to translate) Jia Jian Gong Shi (Add Minus Public Ways - again, hard to translate) ***engish words in the list: Hey Mr, Bad Girl, Amoled, Glam Girl, Abracadabra, Suga Luv, So Beautiful Qu ba qu ba (Go, Go) ***engish words in the list: The boy does nothing, Trouble maker, Keep you much longer Xin xie (Newly written) ***engish words in the list: Style news Wang Fei (The Chinese queen, I think. I'm not really sure. Something to do with the imperial chinese king's women) Dang ni xiang zhe wo (When you think of me... awwww so cute....) ***engish words in the list: Hot N' Cold Hua wu die (Flower Butterfly) ***engish words in the list: DNA Ni yao zou le ba? (Feat. Gao En) (You want to leave now? Featuring Gao En - the artist's name) ***latin or french words in the list: Etude (not translation: but the song is classical music, I think) Shuo chu yuan wang ba (Speak out your wish) ***engish words in the list: So what Bu de Bu Ai (I nearly wrote "shou" instead of "ai" because they look similar and it's hard to read. But anyway, the translation is hard: No gain no love... I think) Bu chong li (um... no repeated strength?) Ni di ge (Your song) OK, these are in order of the second column, from the bottom to the top. In order... I will do the first column when I come back from school, if it hasn't already been done by someone else like kleong already... The writing is very hard to read though, so there might be mistakes in the romaji translation, and the english translation, is mostly correct according to what I read in your image. If there are some comments in my english translation then it means that I found it hard to translate (like "um... no repeated strength?), but if it is simple and only have the translation, like (Your song) (You want to leave now? Featuring Gao En - the artist's name) (When you think of me... awwww so cute....), then I am pretty sure of it's translation... I'm glad I took the time to do this though... You just helped me too much I though it would be bad if I didn't help you back... thanks so much once again, FouGilang.
  8. Wow!!! That is just soo incredibly cool!!! How in the world did you find that??? Incredible!!! Hmm... I think that I will be changing that very soon though.... I don't want anyone actually going back to my host and looking through my information, if that is possible... but anyway, what am I doing here right now? I should be fast asleep getting energy for my yearly examination tomorrow morning and for the whole week and a half that is coming and I am still posting on Xisto late at night... Hmm... oh well, I don't think I can help it if Xisto is just so addictive anyway... It improves my typing skills... Yes... that does... now I know how they do it... pretty smart, isn't it? Hmm... yeah well, I'll delete the smileys then. No point taking up diskspace is there? Even if it doesn't take up bandwidth if you can't see anything from the browser... but seriously, what are they doing there!? It freaks me out, having random phantom smileys folders you know, in the public_html folder... strange and wierd.... Ooooh... I'll get rid of them... you'll see... because it's Halloween!!! Haha. Just joking.
  9. Hmm... I searched, but I am absolutely sure that it wasn't there... Oh, and I didn't know that .part meant that it hasn't finish downloading yet. BUT I am absolutely sure also (again) that it did finish downloading before I opened it... Guess what the problem was??? The browsers!!! Recently, though I haven't told anyone yet, I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox as my second browser so that I can use it for Xisto purposes, alongside with my default Safari browser... this is because of the problem that I get with my getting constantly logged out of Xisto right after I log into Xisto. And once I used Mozilla Firefox instead, while I am not constantly logged in, I am no longer annoyingly logged out!!!But the point is this: I had initially used Safari to download MAMP, but I was using Firefox to do so... and that didn't work. After trying for more than twenty times... I thought of the browser problem and decided to use Safari instead. While the MAMP page on Safari is loading though, I searched up Xampp and I decided to try and download Xampp instead, because it has more functions and everything. The main reason why I didn't use Xampp from the start is also because of the download problems before, and I only had Safari as my one and only browser then. And Guess what? This time, I downloaded Xampp perfectly fine in Mozilla Firefox!!! But then the MAMP page had loaded already, and because I never used Xampp before, I decided to try and see if I can download MAMP anyway and if it works or not. Surprisingly, it also worked... so the conclusion is this, I suppose... You can only download Xampp on Mozilla Firefox and not on MAMP because there will be download problems, and alternatively, you can only download MAMP on Safari and not on Mozilla Firefox because there will ALSO be download problems... weird, huh? Well, I couldn't try it out on Internet Explorer though, because it isn't compatible with the Mac server, and I haven't tried it on Google Chrome either... but I guess I now have two local webservers to work on, huh???I wonder why different browsers only allow different local webservers to get downloaded though... Does anyone have any idea why??? I'm glad I sorted it all out by myself though. THings like this rarely happen, and I'm really proud... score one for Nameless and a big pat on the back!!!
  10. Haha, no worries, I figured it out... I am absolutely sure I had a public_ftp folder before I touch anything in Filezilla, and so I just went to my cPanel and added a "public_ftp" folder in it with an "incoming" folder within that, because I read somewhere that that is also needed, and it just automatically had the "FTP" icon image thing next to it, so I assume that everything should be working correctly. As for if I accidentally deleted any other files or folders, I can't say, so I can't and I won't be able to do anything about that at all... but I don't think it matters, I hope... and OK, thanks for the information. From now on I will only touch the public_html folder... And no... the default index.html page doesn't have anything to do with smileys... does that mean I can just delete the file? OK then... for the first time ever I will put a link to my website here with my top level domain name that I have bought from Xisto here (which will now deem me no longer nameless, just for the purpose of this thread and post: Here Of course, that doesn't mean that I won't be giving out a grand opening to my site anyway... But here you go... there aren't any smileys, see? I will be changing that soon though. So, can I delete the smileys folder? (Also, a quick question that isn't related to any of this: You can see that my hosting company put google ads on the page, right? And yet I can't see anything related to Google ads in the source code html, and when I downloaded the index file there isn't even a source code html at all... how does that work out?)
  11. Haha... it's not like I WANT to post... I sometimes, if not all the time look towards Xisto with dread... like you, I just can't find anything to post about, apart from replying to some threads and making my "Help!!!" threads that I always seem to have... :-( It's just the fact that I feel guilty missing out a chance to earn some myCENTS and missing out a chance to post of Xisto whenever I can that makes me post... it's not like I have motivation and that I want to post... it's just that it's like I HAVE to post... or I will feel guilty. So when I mean addicted, I mean addicted like drug addiction. You don' t want to do it but you have to... in this case I force myself. Of course, now, I have to take breaks a few days or so... and I definitely won' t be posting as much in the coming week because I've got my exams and I am actually meant to be studying instead of posting on Xisto, but anyway... that is why I am now posting non-stop at Xisto so that I can make up for the coming week. it's not like I want to, but I have to. I force myself to or I will feel guilty about it. It's like a chore, basically. Yeah... I tried to learn php, but after learning that there is PHP 3 and PHP 4, I just couldn't learn it and keep myself going anymore... especially after I finished learning XML and CSS all in one day. And since then, I just couldn't find the time to learn Php, though I suppose I'll have to one day anyway, since I am looking forward to having multiple self-sustaining websites for myself in the future... I still don't understand why you don't like Drupal or Joomla though, and what makes them different from wordpress... they're all the same to me, I think, but only with different functions and things... Wait... do you also create software like Filezilla, Microsoft Word and Outlook with php too?
  12. Wow... how do you honestly learned to speak, read and write so many languages at once? I can only speak, read and write in two languages fluently, English and Chinese (chinese in both the main beijing putonghua way and a certain cantonese dialect), and I am currently learning Japanese at school and I know tres un peu francais (a little french), but six languages... wow... you are now officially my idol from now on... :-/ Seriously... I want to my multi-lingual, and considering that I am bilingual and maybe, hopefully would be tri-lingual one day, I consider myself as pretty good and well educated... but you!!! Six languages!!! How did you learn and do all that!? Teach me, and I will follow you forever... hahaha.
  13. Hiya people... I seem to need your help... again... And it seems like the Support and feedback forum, and the subforum in it, "Questions and Queries" is my favourite place to hang out, isn't it? Anyway... well, I have uploaded my Macintosh computer from the Macintosh OS X 10.4.6 to Macintosh OS X 10.6.1, and so, I have been finally been able to downloaded the FTP software Filezilla for my uploading files onto cPanel needs... however, in the process of updating the new version of Mac OS X, it seems like all the work that I have been working on my local web MAMP server has been somehow wiped out... and that isn't the main problem, because I can easily catch up with everything that I have done. The main problem is, however, the problem of downloading MAMP onto my computer again...For some reason, I can't seem to open the .zip file that comes through the download, and yet it worked completely fine for Filezilla. I don't know what is wrong, because whenever I click onto the .zip file, another file jumps up...So when I click on "MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip", not only doesn't it open, this file jumps up: MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip.cpgz -----------> and when I click on that, this file jumps up: MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg 2.zipWhich is, I believe, exactly the same thing. So after a few click, my screen would be completely cluttered:MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip --> MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip.cpgz --> MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg 2.zip --> and so on and so on. Also, in my first download when my computer software was still Mac OS X 10.4.6, only one file appeared when I downloaded. But now, two files appeared: MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip AND MAMP_MAMP_PRO_1.8.3.dmg.zip.part, in which the latter doesn't open. Can someone tell me what to do? I need the MAMP software urgently, not to mention redoing everything that I have done for the past three months in a few weeks time...
  14. Thank you SO much for your help, FouGilang... I suppose maybe I did delete my public_ftp file... But you've got many more files like perl and things like that that I don't have... but anyway, thank you for your help... I will add the public_ftp file and see if that works... For your information, if you want, I will also include the screenshots of both my cpanel and my filezilla files for your reference. And don't worry, I like it "tiny". Thank you so very much once again... And yes, we've got different hosts... I don't use Xisto as my host myself, so that would be definite, though I use the myCENTS on Xisto to register my top-level .com domain name(s). Ah... OK, so it doesn't have anything to do with public_ftp. I was wondering myself whether I somehow deleted the public_ftp folder and all its contents somehow spilled out, but now that I have seen FouGilang's posts and screenshots and attachments and read your reply I realised that I am wrong. Either way, I guess the only thing that I can do now is to manually add the public_ftp folder on... Anyway, thanks for the reply... The weird thing is though, guess what I found in the public_html/ folder? A whole collection of MSN smileys that people use!!! I don't even know whether I should delete them or let them be and whether they are crucial to my website or not... I wonder how that got there though... I personally don't use MSN myself, and so obviously I won't be anywhere near uploading them up onto FileZilla... any advice, people? (I've uploaded the screenshots as attachments... I hope it works...)
  15. Oh my god, sorry... I actually typed out the whole list though, I was still (and still am) opening the Filezilla application. Are you seriously sure you can't find any other missing files? What about the .bash_something and the .config_something files? What are they for? Have you seen anything like that before?
  16. Me? I don't know anything about php(), sorry... I have only learnt HTML and CSS, and XML only... I still have a long way to go, I suppose... but I'll survive. I think that I can make a website already for myself without learning that, after I figure out how to solve my losing my public_ftp folder... I mean, I can always get the templates off the internet, right?Of course, I'll get there one day though... there is always one thing I don't get about the php code. Why is there always a php() somewhere in the code, and you never ever put anything in the brackets? (()) It is just so weird, don't you think? Oh well, I'll get to know why this is when I get the time to learn it (php)... for the time being, I should be studying for my yearly examinations tomorrow, not posting on Xisto...Oh well, I guess that Xisto is just too addictive for my to stop posting on...
  17. Hmm.. it sounds very good... but then, why are you asking us? If your parents have already bought the laptop already... then wouldn't you won't be able to choose anyway? But anyway... yeah, I agree with you. A laptop is incredibly useful to use for educational purposes... and I don't know if you have read my other thread where the Auastralian Government is funding for every student in NSW to have a laptop, but it is also on Windows 7 and it is actually a really good system and a platform too, though I also like Mac OS X as I use it on my home computer... :)And if the screen is big, then it is good, because it is better for your eyes. Unfortunately though, if that is the case, then your computer will be rather heavy to carry to school to, so it depends on how you view it... But overall, I suppose it is a good laptop to use...
  18. I don't know if that works... wait... isn't there a button to make things default? Can you check your own FileZilla folders and tell me what I am missing? Also, what do the extra files at the end of the folder list after www is for and what do they mean? I am pretty sure that they weren't there before... do you think that I can delete them? Here is the list I am talking about:.bash_logout.bash_profile.bashrc.contactemail.lang.lastlogin.zshrccpbackup-exclude.confYeah... and can you tell me what folders I am missing?
  19. OK, thanks for the info, people...so I'll only ever upload things on the public_html folder, and I don't think I will even touch the public_ftp folder... Unortunately, something happened... I can't seem to find the public_ftp folder now!!! I can't find it at all!!! I don't know what happened!!! I have only deleted the one folder that I believe I have uploaded wrongly before from when I was using CrossFTP to no avail, but even then, I still can't find my public_ftp folder!!! I don't know what to do now!!! I don't think that I have accidentally deleted anything wrongly though... Only that one folder... So I will hereby attempt to list all the main folders that I can find, and I hope that you people will be able to tell my what is wrong with everything... Is it possible to "reset" cPanel so that it looks like I haven't touched anything before? I only created two mail accounts and deleted that folder... OK... so here is the list: (Note one: the ".." is also a folder that I don't know what it is used for and it seems to be empty)(Note two: from ".bash_logout" and below are files and NOT folders... I don't think I have seen them before though...) Any help? Can someone see their own FIleZilla files and see if I have anything wrong? THis is meant to be the default files that I have, assuming that I haven't touched anything at all before... If this helps, I will also include the log thingy for reference of what I did this session: Thanks people... someone help!!!
  20. Are you sure that it is meant to be uploaded in the folder: public_html? Wouldn't that just go onto the website and my website will be blank apart from the code? I thought that only public files and folders like Drupal, Joomla, templates and all that we meant to go on!!! Huh??? If that is the case, that is, if everything is meant to be uploaded onto the public_html file, then what does the public_ftp file meant to do??? Isn't there a private folder where I can put things like that? Huh??? I am getting confused now. I thought that everything you put in the public_something folders all go visible online... ??? Hmm...
  21. Haha, sorry, I understood it wrong then.... but hey! You reply fast. I was extremely surprised. In that case... I understand your clearer now... I don't know, I suppose you should use an open source CMS like Drupal or Joomla to base your site on then. You can install some security modules and I believe that they have permission to access things like that, though I haven't heard one allowing certain people to view PAGES and other that can't though... I've only heard of the read or write or delete commands...But anyhow, Drupal and/or Joomla is based on php, if that helps and I think that you can insert a session ID code in it somewhere. It also have the login and register functions that you are looking for. If this helps, I found this page on php.net on session IDs. I don't know if you are looking for this though: http://php.net/manual/en/function.session-id.php I have also been searching for some page view permissions for you... I think that there are certain modules from Drupal that cane be helpful, but guess what I found? A certain old page from Xisto by our moderator jlhaslip!!! I think that this my help you... http://forums.xisto.com/topic/56187-user-permission-function-php-determining-user-permissions/ Here are the other sites that I have found: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/<--- might not help you, but anyway... it's a Open source CMS, I believe... http://community.wikidot.com/wishlist:2 http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/<---something about reports and views http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/<---this looks good too!!!
  22. Hiya Chrisdavis000!!! I can see that you are new to Xisto here... Welcome!!! I just want to say a little hello here... and just to let you know, Xisto is a free web hosting company where you can have your unlimited hosting plans and various top-level domain names all for free here!!! You just have to post... but more on that later... I'll tell you what to do in another thread if you make one as it will go off topic... I can see that you just came here just for a little bit of advice. :DWell, I must say that I am not pro at PHP at all, I'm sorry. I'm sure that more pro people will be coming after and replying to your thread, but I just want to try and help and give some ideas, since you don't have any replies yet, though normally I would just leave it to the pros.Is it possible to set up multiple accounts so that each client can have their own unique username and password? You were talking about clients with an S at the end of the word, so I am thinking that you might be working for an organization with each individual in that organization having his or her own private area of their files. If you can set up a security feature of unique usernames and passwords then that should do the trick...If you are talking about different clients though, then why don't you just set each website up differently? Then as each client pays for his or her own cPanel or webserver, then they would originally have their own different accounts anyway... if that is the case then I have absolutely no idea in what you are talking about...Well, I don't know if that, unique usernames and passwords, are possible as I have nearly no idea what you are talking about, but I hope that that helped at least a little bit...
  23. OK... well, thanks for the help guys... I have successfully connected to my server on my cPanel using FileZilla... but after that, even when I can find my files that I want to put in (that is, the open-source CMS Drupal), I don't know which folder to put it in. There are so many files and folders that I don't even know which one to put in, and I believe that while I was dabbling around, I believe that I have accidentally uploaded some of my files "up there", so now I don't even know which files to delete and which ones that I am not meant to touch... :(Any help on this? Does anyone have a list of files and/or folders that I am "meant" to have and others that I am not so I know which files and folders to delete? Also, which files or folders am I meant to put my Drupal folder in, and which file and folder am I meant to put the "verification file" from Google Apps Custom Mail Domain Verification in???And how do I do that? I'm glad I got the connection right, but even know that I know how to use it, well, I don't know which folders to put different things in!!! Oh yeah... and after searching the web it turns out that the default port is 21 for my FileZilla FTP software, but when I get to my cPanel I have to go to somethingdomain.subdomain.net:2082. Different ports!!! Why is that???Thanks for answering my thread though... there's a lot of questions there... please try and answer all of them. Thanks.
  24. Hi people, I'll try and keep this short... Basically, after receiving some suggestions, I decided to try out Google Apps Services for my custom email address... after following some steps, this is a step that I have recieved: Upload an HTML file to verify that you own *mydomain.com* Note: I have changed my read domain to "mydomain.com" and the crytic code thing that I am meant to upload as *******somethingsomething. I don't understand this step... but I believe that the "google********somethingsomething" is the key to this and I am meant to not show this to anyone... but my question is this: how do I create a "verification file"? And upload it on to my cPanel? Which file and Which folder (public?)? Of course, that is after I work out how to use FileZilla in the first place... but anyway. Help please!!! Oh yeah, and thanks for your patience... I'm sorry I had to do two threads at the same time...
  25. Hello people... another help from Nameless_ here.IT seems like to me that Filezilla can only be used on a Mac version of OS X 10.5 and above, and because I only have a Mac computer that suddenly downgraded itself and it's version to OS X 10.4, I couldn't use FileZilla and had to search for FileZilla alternatives instead. However, because no one knows how to use anything else like Cross FTP or CyberDuck, I told my dad to upgrade my computer for me and so I have successfully installed FileZilla on my Macintosh computer, version OS X 10.6.1...Now the problem is, now that I have FileZilla, how do I use it? I want to install Drupal onto my cPanel, and considering I have 1000mb of free space, that should be enough, as some members said that you can already install Drupal (or Joomla) on a 20mb hosting plan at Xisto. Apparently all the files are meant to go into the public_ftp/ folder. Now that I am in a FileZilla user prone environment, can someone tell me how to use FileZilla and upload files onto my cPanel? How do I know how to put it in the right folder and how to take it down if I did it wrong?Thanks... (P.s. how does a FTP server work exactly? Everything seems so complicated. How is it that a software can connect to the web and send files from the local computer to "up there"?)
