Isn't that the same with any other flatfile, just slightly more work? Unless you don't mind others viewing the information stored in there, you should stick to MySQL for security reasons.

Get A Image Indentifier With Gd Library GD library question
truefusion replied to Stenno's topic in Programming
The weird data should be the image itself, it's like opening up an image in an ascii editor. Check out these functions: imagecreatefrompng, imagecreatefromjpeg, imagecreatefromgif, etc.. -

The Human Appendix Might Have A Use After All
truefusion replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Health & Fitness
This doesn't make any sense to me. You imply cave-man times, and according to the theory of evolution, we have evolved several times since that stage. If during the cave-man times the appendix became obsolete, by the time we became what we are today, the appendix would not exist in our bodies, for it has become obsolete like you say it is. It would not be "as small as it is today," it just wouldn't be there, period. But we still have it today, therefore, it must still have a use. And how do you know the appendix was bigger back then? Did it really need to be that big? I mean, how long does food take before it reaches the appendix? If the food was deadly, it would have caused damage to the digestive system up till it reaches the appendix, assuming the appendix was as strong as you imply it was back then. Also, did you see a cave-man's appendix? Didn't we find a "cave man" somewhere along the line? Did anyone check the size of its appendix? Unless the organ became unstable, it would have no reason for it to create more of what it normally needs. A more possible explanation is that any bad bacteria that got in there was too much to handle for the good bacteria. -
The Human Appendix Might Have A Use After All
truefusion replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Health & Fitness
Hmm? This is old news; i heard about this years ago. It is also said that people who have their appendixes removed tend to get sick more easily than those who still have their appendixes, since these good bacteria it produces can no longer be used by the body to defend or whatever. A bit hard to remember what i heard years ago... -
I use Geany, it's very nice. When i start typing out an IF statement, it finishes it off for me. When i type in a PHP function, it pops up a drop-down menu for quick selection and when i reach the starting paranthesis, a tooltip pops up telling me what the function requires or takes—this is quite useful, i don't have to constantly keep looking into the PHP manual. If i close the program with documents open, when i re-open the program, it leaves me where i left off: it has all the files i had open, open, and it even places the cursor/blinker on the line i was at before the close.

Widescreen Resolutions In Ubuntu 7.04 Sorta need help
truefusion replied to dre's topic in Operating Systems
The way i do it, which has always done the job for me, is by going to System Settings > Monitor & Display. Enter Administrator mode, then click on the Hardware tab. Hit Configure for the Monitor one (should be the second Configure button), then pick the resolution you want. Apply the settings, and restart the X-server (you may have to go back in and set the resolution up on the first tab: Size, Orientation & Positioning). Doing it this way, i've managed to get the resolutions i wanted and that my monitor supports with ease, i've also managed to get really high resolutions to become available, even though the monitor was not made for those higher resolutions. Btw, always back up your xorg.conf file (Kubuntu may do that for you, though). That way, if anything goes wrong, you can pop in the Kubuntu LiveCD, mount your HDD, change to the back up, then restart, and everything will be back to before you started changing settings. -

Php Only Gallery I dont know PHP well and cant find a free script
truefusion replied to BooZker's topic in Programming
No one mentioned my gallery script. Just kidding. Okay, so mine may not have the lightbox thing you want, but it should do the majority of what you want. Here's the link to it, if you want: TrueFusion Gallery. It's no fun making scripts if no one uses them. I don't want any form of payment, people using my scripts is in itself enough. You don't have to use the image uploader for it. My script was made for easy layout adaption/customization. -
Impossible-to-answer Questions... title says it all
truefusion replied to hibbso's topic in General Discussion
[1]The question implies that everything is limited to earth.[2]The question implies that God created Himself, it's also not necessary to ask after asking the first question. [3]After asking the second question, it's not necessary to ask this question. To answer these questions properly: [1]Him creating everything on earth doesn't mean He didn't create anything else that is visible to us. God is capable of being everywhere, He does not need to come from somewhere in order to be there. [2]Refer to my first answer for His "appearing". And, also, the question is self-contradicting, making it not a question at all. [3]No. To say yes is to talk about another god other than God, the Most High.

When i entered this topic, i was expecting actual impossible-to-answer questions. The only why question is the plane's toilet one—and even that is answerable. You should stick to why questions to increase the chances of making them impossible to answer; not to say that the why questions you choose are impossible to answer. -
When Does Flirting Cross The Line?
truefusion replied to TikiPrincess's topic in Dating And Relationships
In my "book", i suppose my belief is near your "strict" friend's belief. It may appear strict to you, but like you said, you're a flirt, so it's expected to appear strict to you. The reason why i believe that intended flirting crosses line is because, to me, it's crossing the line of faithfulness—keep the flirting limited to the one you love, not the one you're having a good time with. I'll admit, i can be a pretty strict person, but that doesn't bother me so long as i see a good outcome from it. Now, if the other mistakes simple or regular talk with flirting, then that's a different story and i don't consider that breaking faith, for misunderstandings can happen. It doesn't matter to me how long the flirting lasted or if it'll happen again, if you did it willingly, then that's breaking faith, for you've chosen to allow your heart to turn away from your loved one for however long it may have been. Relationships aren't started for the sake of ending it, and if you want to increase the chances of keeping the relationship stable, then don't break faith. -
Hmm? I'm amazed that computer is still working; even in an air-conditioned room, comps go near 35 celcius and above. The room with the computer on is usually the warmest in the house. Do you have the windows open during the day and night? It's always cooler outside than it is inside.

Hasn't school started a while ago? That could be one reason. (As for me, i've been busy with work and some PHP scripting.) School sometimes tends to make the whole forum seem slow. Perhaps SOTW'll kick in like it does in a while.

Like i said above you—redirects won't work, for that page is the page that inserts the data into the database. All you're doing is splitting the code up. When the user submits a post, they are not shown the "add reply" page again with the submit button under the mouse. You don't have to wait till the next page loads up or even return back to you, so long as the server has received the information sent from and by the browser and everything validates, it's going into the database regardless on whether or not the user got to see the redirect page. Therefore, JavaScript is the most convenient option. Or you could write a script that checks to see if the same post has been submitted already—this would truly eliminate double posting (but is less convenient for the programmer), for what if the user agent has JavaScript disabled?

I'd say go with the Nokia, mainly 'cause i'm against folding phones. :XD: They're annoying to have up against you, and impossible to hold with your shoulder when you need to. Plus, they all seem easy to break. The Nokia one may be more expensive than the Razr, but i'd prefer comfort and "toughness" over the others. The "candy bar" look does not look bad to me, but i don't care about looks when choosing a product, i choose something that'll last me long and that doesn't bother me.FYI, i use Verizon and so far i have not had a problem with their service.

Windows Vista...oh My God.. Ever experienced this?
truefusion replied to odomike's topic in Operating Systems
Although i've never had this problem before during the time when i have used Windows (i don't own Vista, by the way)... even if you had system restore enabled, its purpose is not to restore any of your personal files, its purpose is to restore system files. -
Anything faulty plugged should be the problem. I'm assuming whatever you plugged the 4-pin into is what popped. I'm guessing since it was in the wrong spot, the power supply gave it too much to handle, therefore making a popping sound. I'm expecting that part of the motherboard to not work while the PSU still works, but i could be wrong. I doubt it's the RAM, for i doubt that much, if any, power even managed to reach it. Likewise with your drives.

Unfortunately, this "rhetorical" question is capable of being answered with a, "No." For food does not need a chef, especially simple things like regular fruits and vegetables. Perhaps if you went with, "Does a child need a parent?", then you might have something there. A wheel, eh? There's something slightly different, i'm used to hearing it being a rock.
-
Not necessarily. Similar to S_M's response, if you take the question very literal, then yes, there is, for, unless the Last Day comes about, life will still be even after you die. :XD: But the real question is: Is there life after all existence in this universe dies? Both Science and the Bible mention that this will all pass away one day, however long away it may be. If the Bible was accurate here, then there's a good chance that it is accurate about the hereafter. But the universe passing away bears another question: What will happen then? Will there be total darkness or will it be like it is mentioned in the Bible?

The Us Education System Needs Improving.
truefusion replied to Mermaid711's topic in General Discussion
And it doesn't waste their time as well? I think it's fair if both of your times are wasted. :XD: But is it really just a waste of time for you guys? Or is it good practice and gives you something to boast about? (Not to say that it would be okay to boast about it in front of those who didn't pass it.) [1]No, i haven't. [2]Why's that? [3]I'm not surprised. [4]I thought they were already in school, so it must be a University. [5]Isn't experience the better teacher? [4][5]But is this really so? That is, is this really the reason why things are better over in China? If a trade is as low as you're implying, then that must mean that a lot are being placed in Universities and few are being placed in trades. I don't believe your point would stand. Regardless of whether or not they're going to put all of that information to use, a school is a place to learn. It's like saying for History, "How many kids will become a historian? My point exactly." I could go on... [1]Wouldn't you be doing the same thing if you were planning to go to college?[2]And what are you going to do with what you have learned?

We could if he struggles later in life pertaining to what you let him copy. -
Not necessarily, for since they are usually in a different dimension, that dimension doesn't mean they are bound to creation. Just like they are not bound to time, so may they be not bound to creation. Some religions don't include their gods being from another dimension but in the very dimensions that we're in, nor do they mention or imply that they are capable of going beyond this dimension; some even attribute their gods to creation itself (e.g. a carved piece of wood). This fact would put an end to this "endless" cycle, while still remaing believable.

People Who Don't Punish Their Children are bad parents
truefusion replied to Mermaid711's topic in The Vent
Oye, oye! What's with all the name calling in this topic, Mermaid? The vent was not created to unleash your anger out in such a way. Consider this a verbal warning. But i do agree that a parent should be a parent and take action in disciplining their child when they're acting silly. Of course they shouldn't go overboard, where the child would require medical attention and the parent be placed in jail and have a restraining order. Here's a proverb that fits well with this topic: Proverbs 19:18. -
Not necessarily, for with a little love, the animal itself can be your friend. Even the wildest beasts can be tamed in this fashion. It depends on how they are raised, i suppose. Sure when tempted they may become wild again, but hacking and slashing is not necessary. But if everything was chaotic, i highly doubt this would be possible. I must agree to an extent, for i find some people impossible to understand at times, while these other things are far more easier to understand or fully understandable.

I don't understand how it isn't. My Linux OS can do everything i can do in Windows (and more), and some of this stuff Windows doesn't even come with pre-installed. Linux may not be the best for gamers, and i'm not much of a PC gamer, but gaming isn't what makes an operating system practical. Practical would fall into media and internet: music, e-mail, graphics or images, video, IM, documents, etc.—all of this Linux can do. Plus, even some governments in the east are switching to Linux and Dell allows you to choose whether to have Ubuntu or Windows pre-installed into the system. May i ask what's not true about it besides what it can imply? I feel that you've just simply added to what i had to say, which i won't disagree with. I know, but it's the same thing, right? :XD: I mean, i don't think i've seen a distro that doesn't install either GRUB or LILO.
