You should give a user permisions to create databases. To grant or revoke permisions in mysql take a look to the mysql manual. Here is the link: Mysql manual grant-revoke

At the end XML is in different layer as HTML. XML is a language to describe new Markup Languages while HTML is a markup language with a limited number of tags. So, something like SGML but with 200 pages less of specification. There are three principal ways of creating layout for XML:- With CSS (Would be the easiest way but it not supported by all the browsers and there is not a good way to represent links)- XSLT transform XML to the data type you want. Lets say PDF or XHTML- XFO Thats i do not know a lot but it is something with formating objects.So as you can see there are plenty way applications where XML makes a lot of sense.

What do you want to do exactly? Database - server side scripting connection? If you want to connect a database with a server scripting language you will learn at least PHP or Java applet but if do not need a database you can live without PHP. I mean you can do great layouts with good graphics, XHTML and CSS. And if you need to provide more dynamic funtionality, you can always use client-side scripting like Javascript. Just don't be angry. There is live outside PHP.

Please. Do not use invisible tables to provide layout. Luckily the invisible tables time is over. It is time to move to CSS. The same static effect can be provided with CSS. Please consider moving to CSS.

Hi, A friend of mine is having this really wird problems with his machine. He bought a computer some months ago. I mean a good computer but one days ago his computer was shutting down something like a power problem (i thought something like blaster). But the next days it worked without problems. But new problems appeared, The computer now freezes after logging into XP and being there some minutes. I mean it blocks even in safe mode. So, i was thinking we had a virus or something like that. So i took the hard disk and backup the important things in my box. I was thinking that after formatting the computer and installing Windows again it will be no problem. But what was my surprise when it got blocked also it freezees also while doing a new installlation. So it seems to me that this is a hardware problem and he should bring it to a shop and they will tell him what it is broken. I want to ask you guys if you hear or suffer something similiar and if you know a way i can help him without going to a shop and paying a bill for it. If you can answer me as soon as possible i am thankful in advanced!!!!The computer is exactly a:Athlon XP2800. 512 RAN160 Gb Hard Disk....

Normally in Xisto people do not use small banners. In Newsgroups nobody uses visual graphic signatures and for me it is really more comfortable and fast to post there.

Totally agree Roly. In that way you provide a unique CSS page for the whole site and you decrease the size of your html pages avoiding repeating the style tag in every page.

I think that Xisto forums will be much better if people avoid putting banners as signatures. At the end they only make post reading more difficult and unconfortable plus they increase the size of the page.When did we lose the standard of "--" signatures?

I totally agree!. A friend of me gave me copies of the x86 Ubuntu distro before i heard about all the delivery thing it in Trap. They are spreading the name of the distro really quickly and even it costs some money (i do not think, it costs so much) now, they will mange to make money back in a short period of time if they are good. I will give them a chance and try Ubuntu.

I discoverd SpyMac before GMail came into our lifes. The forums contents are really interesting, the mailbox size is huge and they offer free hosting but they put a banner on every page the host (that is the reason for moving to Xisto). I your are looking for a 1Gb mail http://www.gmx.net/ is another alternative. I use it from 1 year and a half and i am really happy with it.

I tried the htmldog link now and it works for me. Maybe yesterday their site was down but it seems strange to me. About VIM: I began Web Desgin with notepad but the natural step is to move to a more powerful editor like VIM or Emacs. The tutorial (simple type ":help" once you open VIM) will improve your abilities with VIM a lot in few minutes.
