  1. I have to admit this the first time I've found a post that gives a candid evaluation of beginning in Linux. I suppose Newb's keep quite till they earn a little expertise on the subject. When i first introduced my self to Linux i installed an old red hat version on a Pentium 1, it installed OK but for the version i had it booted into the command prompt, all i wanted to do was get some GUI action happening and searching for the command to start it. Help didn't help, only from talking to other people did i discover "startx" was the ticket. Up to that point i tried xstart, start, start Linux, etc... then reinstalled windows.Equally if you don't have an internet connection at all, Linux can give you a very hard time. Please don't get me wrong there's a lot to Linux that rocks, but the linux community needs to continue their efforts on improving user friendliness. Dependency's in some Linux versions can just **** you off. After saying that also, Ubuntu is a step in the right direction.

  2. Ranges a lot for me, today I've spent 2 hours today, sometimes it can be 3 hours or just 15 minutes. What struck me when i first signed up here a few months ago, was people were and are very open as part of this online community. In my own my mind i reason this as obviously something that has been fostered over time by Opaque, the mods, etc. (could be wrong). Sometimes its a relief to just to get an escape on Xisto (really is). Half the time i don't focus on obtaining my cents. If i see an opportunity for a joke I'll post and if it makes no one laugh it certainly makes me laugh, hopefully i don't push anyone's tolerance to the limit in that respect.

  3. I really liked need for speed underground and underground 2 as well, but after playing the same sort of free roaming style through each NFS title thereafter it really gets a bit tedious, despite how well refined it is becoming. That's why I revert back to NFS 4's non linear style sweeping tracks, just to get a change plus i like watching those high speed Autobahn type races on DVD, as silly as they are.

  4. Actually i do that too gisellebebegirl, all the time!

(i used the cellphone as a way to get rid of my insecurities when i was in places i wasn't comfortable in, [like when meeting new people, guys, or just going to the store]

It's actually kinda funny trying to look inconspicuous behind a phone. Its like saying, "I'm normal, everything's cool, nothing to see here, bye bye now". I'm way too shy.

The only thing i use my mobile for is a wake up alarm and for the time, the occasional call for business or emergency and of course the reason listed above.

  5. Hey that sounds good rayzoredge, i hope it works out for you. I'm just wondering is there a site (besides Ameriplanusa.com) that discloses financial/background information about the company. Although I live in another country and have other plans anyway, I ask because in the hypothetical situation that If i were to sign up, that would be the first bit of information I'd search for. Obviously Ameriplan is listed on NASDAQ perhaps you could include a couple of links?.How long has the company been established, 14-15 years?. I, like you am a very skeptical person, so I'd imagine you've done your background research to ensure you don't waste your time. Marketing and salesmanship mm..., i think if people "seriously" invest in it (and they have suitable personal attributes) they may very well get good income.Just wondering, do you compete with other Ameriplan providers in your local area for business?. Do you compete as team, or even at all? Hope this helps everyone.

  6. Na, your posts are valued m8, personally I value the fact that the trap is "open" to various opinions and personalities in whatever form they may be (makes for interesting conversation, but also a change from physical life. Well at least for me).Hey Nameless_ if you need any tips for site design in future ill be happy to give em, or better yet wait for some of my tuts to come through (I endeavor to make them as practical and well thought as possible and give exactly as advertised). Anyway, the tone within the overall composition (the colors) I'm still considering and may change, I'm kinda looking at some of the recent Adobe products particularly "Adobe Extension Manager" to get inspiration from (odd source i know). I'm still not happy with the arrangement of elements inside the main box, its too free floating and lacking a strong consistent gridded layout through out the site. Time to look through magazines for inspiration and translate those ideas to screen. I really need to make some more content to help though. Could take a couple of days.

  7. Howdy partners, V2 just came of the production line and is ready for blast off...If people could kindly reset their cache (browsing history), so the new site shows up properly, that be great. Portfolio fixed, site validated, improved design, junk script code removed, widget x.... what is widget x you ask?.... who cares...I'm ready for another wave of hellfire, give it to me...Just kidding any comments are important to me. Time to hit the sack for today, getting late. By the way webishqiptar does the contact page look a little better?

  8. Thanks everyone for your time in replying, the resolution issue is something that i thought would be brought up i just did'nt know how important it would be. I designed it for 800x600 screens upwards... actually after just checking over some web stats ive just confirmed that this is indeed very wrong. I actually prefer having a bit of free space on it (not as much as it is know), it changes the aesthetic enough to make it look individual, although i do endeavor to keep it as functional as possible. In response to rvalkass' post - that was a line of script i added after validation, no problems though only take 10 minutes max. The portfolio issue was something that was a definite weak point im glad you confirmed it, some reworking is in order. In response to nameless_ post - having HTML/CSS etc validated ensures you get better search engine ranking, although it isn't an exact science with no guaranteed results. I'm mainly focusing on having it "totally" validated so i can put up the "HTML/CSS validated..." for marketing purposes. In reponse to minimcmonkey's post - I know what your saying, ill have to think about that a bit. One aim i was hoping to achieve was strong typographical layout (kind of like a magazine) but i let it go while building the site. I reckon ill have to revisit that aspect. The layout you mentioned i thought about and continue too... I guess see what happens. (I want to get into flash later and wan't flow on from anything i have up now).

  9. Yeah i agree, at risk of sounding like a broken record im still open to talking... Things like this dont easily go away, you get some release by verbalizing it, but it always comes back (again im speaking from experience). You may enter the stage where you can't hide it so easily Gisellebebe, that makes everything a lot harder. People can only help you if you accept it, it doesnt have to be anyone on the trap, i just hope you begin feeling better...

  10. I think any laptop with a track point is a good one (the dot in the middle of the keyboard you use to move the cursor about), it can seriously make you more productive using this rather than shifting between mouse and keyboard. IBM or (Lenovo) typically incorporate this into their "thinkpad" range so my personal preference will always be to purchase a thinkpad (intended for business) and spec up the graphics card on it (for business and play). Its not as shiny as say... a sony or a mac, but very practical. But also i get a heck a lot of use of my computer stuff and my R50 for instance doesnt complain one bit (touch wood).

  11. Actually ive heard a very similar thing about bluetooth as rayzor edge just mentioned, i was never motivated to learn any further. You know as tech integrates in to our lives further i think we will have to personally increase our precautions to ensure we use tech without comprimising ourselves (leaving ourselves vulnerable). Im not saying we will become paranoid, but just increasingly more careful. For instance, i view bluetooth as a big security risk (i leave it disabled on all my stuff and use it only when needed). Yet there are many out there that blindly leave it on for the world to see and they just have no idea. Encryption will always help, but common sense and awareness of tech risks will be increasingly important.

  12. Yeah im also open to talking with you should you call upon it. Although we are communicating through the net, i really care about you and how you are feeling. I've had depression in various forms since i was young. If you want to talk (about anything no smiles necessary) please give me a message maybe we could talk more perhaps through facebook? Your choice. Your a nice girl gisellebebegirl, i want to help and im sure rob86 does too.
