  1. Well with one person interested in the topic I will start to finish up the guide tomorrow and then I will post it in this forum. It is a very interesting read and is a proven process. I have used this process to help build up credit for one of my companies. I have about 10k in available credit in about 6 months and not once did I have to give my social security number on applications for corporate credit.
  2. A while ago I started writing a document on how to successfully build corporate credit. I was wondering if this would be of interest to anyone in here. It is a really great system and even if your personal credit is awful you can still build up corporate without having to using your personal social security number. If this is of interest to anyone I will make it into kind of a tutorial for the business section. Let me know.
  3. 1) What online radio do you use?I listen to Imeem because I can have it on the go on my mobile device too and my customized stations stay the same.2) What search engine do you use the most?Google3) What do you use the internet for mostly?Mostly business and research. Some fun.4) How long do you spend on the internet?I would say probably 30 to 40 hours per week.5) Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider, AOL ect..)?Cox communications6) Do you have your own website?Yes
  4. I have reviewed this site and it appears to offer some great free templates that are not offered on any other template site. I do not see anywhere in their policy either that requires you to link to them if you use the templates, which is a bit unique. I recommend anyone in web design to take alook at this site to get ideas or samples to get a new website started.
  5. I would stay away from frames... as far away as you can. I used frames a LONG LONG time ago when browser caching was awful but now with the excellent caching options there is no need to use frames anymore. Just keep with a uniform layout(or template) and you will not have any problems. The only time that frames are good are when you need to have a static navigation form or when you need a logo constantly placed on a website. You dont want to use frames on a ste where you are trying to be search engine friendly. This is because in most cases you will confuse the search engine as to what page you are going to and then your site will not look the same when they go to the link. Also, not all browsers support frames, so for example if you have visitors trying to access your site on a mobile device or tablet they will come up with a lot of errors or will not be displayed at all.
  6. Who let you into my place... lol jk. BUt seriously. That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen, and I did tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Whoever lives in there should be locked up in a mental hospital because no one in their right mind would ever live in a place like that. I do not see how anyone could possible live in that and I would feel even worse if there were kids living there, you couldnt even have your friends over. These pictures do pose one question though, even though that place is probably condemned now, if they could afford all of that fast food and crap, then dont you think that they could have afforded a maid to come through once a week?
  7. I would take a look into the port forwarding option on your router. Almost all newer routern have them. What this allows you to do is to set it up so that your p2p ports only forward to a certain computer on your network. Then for example for WOW, you can set it nup so those TCP and UDP ports forward to a certain computer. It is completely customizable. Otherwise you will need to download a port forwarding software and set up a host computer to forward the ports to different computers in your household. Here is the port forwarding instructions for your router. 1.) To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below. Do not skip this step! 2.) Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.0.1. 3.) You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is admin. Click the Log In button to log in to your router. 4.) Click the Advanced button near the top of the page. 5.) Click the Gaming link near the left side of the page. ADD GAME RULE Enable : Name : IP Address : TCP Ports to Open : UDP Ports to Open : Inbound Filter : Schedule :
  8. Post as many layouts as you want. Rvalkass, feel free to post other layouts as well. I look forward to seeing what you have veradesigns.
  9. I will let this run for another couple of days. Then a winner will be decided. I do like the first submission it is looking good. Definately more along the lines of what I was looking for.And I am not going to be ripping anyone off. The winner will win fair and square and will receive a written contract for the promised percentage of revenues. If anyone has any other question I will be more than happy to answer them. I am confined to a computer for the next few days because I just had surgery.
  10. https://myaccount.nytimes.com/auth/login?URI=www-nc.nytimes.com/2009/02/12/world/as.html&REFUSE_COOKIE_ERROR=SHOW_ERROR Is it just me or is this the same man who had said during his campaign that he would begin a pullout of our troops, not start adding more to the mixture? I personally have served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and I do not see why wee are even fighting over there anymore. It has become more of a mute point. On the Afghan front, we accomplished our mission, we dethroned the Taliban and started the steps to instate a democracy in the country. In Iraq, wasn's it "Mission Accomplished" years ago. I think that this is just a way for the military commanders of our country to test Obamas stance on his military policies. I hope that he will honor his word and not deploy more troops. We need a president who will start to worry about the problems on the homefront and stop policing the entire world.
  11. I agree with you Echo. I mean... heck.. wars can even start over just posts like this. Now why did you have to go and start WWIII on us. I blame you Echo you terrorist. Lol jk. Now we will see what happens when BuffaloHelp launches a satellite to keep an eye on all of his haters.
  12. Wow... that is such a loaded statement. I do not mean to start a flaming war here but it seem like you have a lot of hatred for Israel. Does anyone want to take a wild guess as to what country you are from or what nationality you are. I think with your israel comment you just stereotyped yourself into "that" group. THe United States government is run by the people for the people and that is something that I firmly believe in. Hell, I fought for that very belief. And in the words of a famous general, Even though I disagree with the words you are saying I will defend to the death your right to say it. That is the great thing about the United States. If we go to war with Iran, we will have a full an valid reason... but I do not know what that has to do with a satellite being launched by Iran. I think we need to get back on topic here and not on some rant about how much Israel sucks, because they dont. P.S. I am not religious.
  13. With Iran I think we have more to worry about them attacking Israel first before they attack the United States. However I think this is a big step for Iran and will put a damper on any relations that we are trying to achieve. Our biggest problem with Iran is the fact that they do not like Israel, and we have njo choice but to put our ball in Israel's court because lets face it ..... we practically created that country. But lets not jump the gun like we always do because we do not even know what the satellite is for yet. For all we know it could just be a weather satellite, or is it? lol
  14. Hello,I am lost and do not know where to post this. If I did post in the wrong forum, please forgive me. But I am looking for a graphic designer to help me out with my site. I have attached a screenshot of the site to this post. I am a back end programmer and I know little to nothing about the front end. Basically I want to keep the same exact layout for usability purposes, however I think we can all agree that it needs to look a lot better visually.I would like to hold a contest. I would like a couple of graphic artists to redesign the look of the site while keeping everything where it is located on the site, new logo, new colors, etc. The best design will receive a contract for 5% of the sites revenues for the life of the site. We will be allowed to use the site in your portfolio, and we will also link to you at the bottom of the site. This site has the potential to earn anywhere from $4000 per month and above, which could translate into a lot of residual income for you. You will be provided a link directly from our advertiser to be able to track in real time the amount of money that the site is generating, so that you will not feel like you are being cheated in any way. To be fair, the winning design will be determined by a poll on this site.I look forward to seeing your designs and hope that I posted this in the right forum.Thank You
  15. Bandwidth is a commodity and as a commodity the cost of bandwidth is increasing. - Comcast is putting this in place because of online streaming/download of movies cutting into Comcasts cable media revenue. Other companies, not just comcast are doing the same. See here Time Warner says that it expanded its bandwidth caps because of online video streamers http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Can you blame the cable/telcom companies for this? they build out massive pipelines with huge investments to give us great speeds and now companies like Apple and Netflix are riding that pipeline to take away business. Not to mention that cable companies are also suffering from the loss in landlines to cellphones. You could still get the online content but you have to pay more for it now or trim down how much you use. This is fair. Verizon FIOS is likely to follow suit here as they have made a huge investment in the Fiber to home pipeline and media content - they dontt want to lose business here. Netflix will be priced out in streaming. Increased broadband fees for heavy users plus the tiered premium packages for streamers - it is difficult to see how Netflix can compete on price in the future of streaming. T wouldnt bet against the cable/telcom companies. They are one of the most powerful industries in the country. Although Netflix will most likely fail at trying to become a media content distributor over the internet- streamers are still going to get a huge choice of online subscription plans to sign up to, plus with discounts through cable companies and an exemption from bandwidth caps for streaming. (see Starz Play is available to FIOS cusomters for $5.99 see here - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Lions Gate with others is coming out with a monstor online subscripton streaming plan (the Epix channel)- see here https://www.cnet.com/news/movie-channel-to-go-live-on-web-before-tv-debut/ ; also HBO is coming out with its own streaming subscription plan - see here http://www.hbo.com/ I may even partake in some of these plans if cable does not get up to speed with their VOD subscription offerings. Many of the new TVs are also allowing connection to the internet so you could stream the plans. Also sure that all the game consoles, and other boxes will allow for these plans in near future. Sorry if I focused on digital media here but I feel it is a valid argument and is one of the areas where I have a lot of expertise in as this very bandwidth cap is going to eventually affect my income stream.
  16. I can speak on this issue being from the other side of the table. My wife and I were married for almost 5 years and we had a lot of fights mainly stemming from our finances. We have 2 kids together, whom I love very much. But I decided it was time we separated as we were growing apart. When I told her this she took off to California with the kids, whereas I am living in Nevada and my financial and job situation has me unable to move as of right now. I make every effort to see my kids, even if it is once every month or 2 and I put a call in to them every night but she is always saying the same things about me that you are saying about him. I send them money when I can, even if it isnt enough to fully support them, I mean right now she is living rent free with her grandparents and refuses to work. I basically do everything I can for my kids in the situation that I am in. Just make sure that he is not in the same position that I am in before you start crucifying him. If he is in the wrong then anything he gets is what he deserves. Some guys are just not man enough to be a father and run the first opportunity they see. If that is really the case then go after him with everything you have. Most states even have divorce attorneys that will work on behalf of single parents for free. Look into programs like that.
  17. Thank you very much, this issue has been resolved and they apologized for the first response that I received from them. I tried to edit the topic title to add resolved to it but it wouldnt let me. Is that something only a mod can do?
  18. Creating a Custom PHP Login Script I figured I would contribute something to the tutorials from my web programming knowledge. This is how to create a custom login script in PHP. Requirements: Basic Knowledge of PHP Knowledge of creating MySQL Databases Web Server with PHP/MySQL Support (Xisto Hosting is Sufficient) Step 1: We need to create a database to store the users information in. You can create the database in cPanel under MySQL Databases. One you have created your database, you can create the table for your user information to be stored in. That can easily be done by running this code: //This makes sure they did not leave any fields blank if (!$_POST[\'username\'] | !$_POST[\'pass\'] | !$_POST[\'pass2\'] ) { die(\'You did not complete all of the required fields\'); } // checks if the username is in use if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST[\'username\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'username\']); } $usercheck = $_POST[\'username\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT username FROM users WHERE username = \'$usercheck\'\") or die(mysql_error()); $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); //if the name exists it gives an error if ($check2 != 0) { die(\'Sorry, the username \'.$_POST[\'username\'].\' is already in use.\'); } // this makes sure both passwords entered match if ($_POST[\'pass\'] != $_POST[\'pass2\']) { die(\'Your passwords did not match. \'); } // here we encrypt the password and add slashes if needed $_POST[\'pass\'] = md5($_POST[\'pass\']); if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST[\'pass\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'pass\']); $_POST[\'username\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'username\']); } // now we insert it into the database $insert = \"INSERT INTO users (username, password) VALUES (\'\".$_POST[\'username\'].\"\', \'\".$_POST[\'pass\'].\"\')\"; $add_member = mysql_query($insert); ?> <h1>Registration Complete</h1> <p>Your account has been created, you can now log in.</a>.</p> <?php } else { ?> <form action=\"<?php echo $_SERVER[\'PHP_SELF\']; ?>\" method=\"post\"> <table border=\"0\"> <tr><td>Username linenums:0'><?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect(\"your.hostaddress.com\", \"username\", \"password\") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db(\"Database_Name\") or die(mysql_error()); //This code runs if the form has been submitted if (isset($_POST[\'submit\'])) { //This makes sure they did not leave any fields blank if (!$_POST[\'username\'] | !$_POST[\'pass\'] | !$_POST[\'pass2\'] ) { die(\'You did not complete all of the required fields\'); } // checks if the username is in use if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST[\'username\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'username\']); } $usercheck = $_POST[\'username\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT username FROM users WHERE username = \'$usercheck\'\") or die(mysql_error()); $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); //if the name exists it gives an error if ($check2 != 0) { die(\'Sorry, the username \'.$_POST[\'username\'].\' is already in use.\'); } // this makes sure both passwords entered match if ($_POST[\'pass\'] != $_POST[\'pass2\']) { die(\'Your passwords did not match. \'); } // here we encrypt the password and add slashes if needed $_POST[\'pass\'] = md5($_POST[\'pass\']); if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST[\'pass\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'pass\']); $_POST[\'username\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'username\']); } // now we insert it into the database $insert = \"INSERT INTO users (username, password) VALUES (\'\".$_POST[\'username\'].\"\', \'\".$_POST[\'pass\'].\"\')\"; $add_member = mysql_query($insert); ?> <h1>Registration Complete</h1> <p>Your account has been created, you can now log in.</a>.</p> <?php } else { ?> <form action=\"<?php echo $_SERVER[\'PHP_SELF\']; ?>\" method=\"post\"> <table border=\"0\"> <tr><td>Username:</td><td> <input type=\"text\" name=\"username\" maxlength=\"60\"> </td></tr> <tr><td>Password:</td><td> <input type=\"password\" name=\"pass\" maxlength=\"10\"> </td></tr> <tr><td>Confirm Password:</td><td> <input type=\"password\" name=\"pass2\" maxlength=\"10\"> </td></tr> <tr><th colspan=2><input type=\"submit\" name=\"submit\" value=\"Register\"></th></tr> </table> </form> <?php } ?> This script checks to see if the form was submitted as if it was it makes sure that all of the fields are filled out properly, such as the username not existing and passwords are matching. If the form has not been submitted by the user they are shown the registration form. Step 3: Next we are going to create a new file and call it login.php. You will then insert this code into login.php: //if there is, it logs you in and directes you to the members page { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { } else { header(\"Location linenums:0'><?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect(\"your.hostaddress.com\", \"username\", \"password\") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db(\"Database_Name\") or die(mysql_error()); //Checks if there is a login cookie if(isset($_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\'])) //if there is, it logs you in and directes you to the members page { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { } else { header(\"Location: members.php\"); } } } //if the login form is submitted if (isset($_POST[\'submit\'])) { // if form has been submitted // makes sure they filled it in if(!$_POST[\'username\'] | !$_POST[\'pass\']) { die(\'You did not fill in a required field.\'); } // checks it against the database if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST[\'email\'] = addslashes($_POST[\'email\']); } $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'\".$_POST[\'username\'].\"\'\")or die(mysql_error()); //Gives error if user dosen\'t exist $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); if ($check2 == 0) { die(\'That user does not exist in our database. <a href=add.php>Click Here to Register</a>\'); } while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { $_POST[\'pass\'] = stripslashes($_POST[\'pass\']); $info[\'password\'] = stripslashes($info[\'password\']); $_POST[\'pass\'] = md5($_POST[\'pass\']); //gives error if the password is wrong if ($_POST[\'pass\'] != $info[\'password\']) { die(\'Incorrect password, please try again.\'); } else { // if login is ok then we add a cookie $_POST[\'username\'] = stripslashes($_POST[\'username\']); $hour = time() + 3600; setcookie(ID_my_site, $_POST[\'username\'], $hour); setcookie(Key_my_site, $_POST[\'pass\'], $hour); //then redirect them to the members area header(\"Location: members.php\"); } } } else { // if they are not logged in ?> <form action=\"<?php echo $_SERVER[\'PHP_SELF\']?>\" method=\"post\"> <table border=\"0\"> <tr><td colspan=2><h1>Login</h1></td></tr> <tr><td>Username:</td><td> <input type=\"text\" name=\"username\" maxlength=\"40\"> </td></tr> <tr><td>Password:</td><td> <input type=\"password\" name=\"pass\" maxlength=\"50\"> </td></tr> <tr><td colspan=\"2\" align=\"right\"> <input type=\"submit\" name=\"submit\" value=\"Login\"> </td></tr> </table> </form> <?php } ?> This script checks to see if the login information is stored in a cookie on the users computer. If a cookie already exists with the proper credentials then the user will be redirected to the memers page. If no cookie exists for the site, then the login page is displayed and if the login credentials are valid then the cookie is created and the user is directed to the members page. Step 4: Next we are going to create a file called members.php. Once you have created that file, insert the following code: { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { //if the cookie has the wrong password, they are taken to the login page if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { header(\"Location linenums:0'><?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect(\"your.hostaddress.com\", \"username\", \"password\") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db(\"Database_Name\") or die(mysql_error()); //checks cookies to make sure they are logged in if(isset($_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\'])) { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { //if the cookie has the wrong password, they are taken to the login page if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { header(\"Location: login.php\"); } //otherwise they are shown the admin area else { echo \"Admin Area<p>\"; echo \"Your Content<p>\"; echo \"<a href=logout.php>Logout</a>\"; } } } else //if the cookie does not exist, they are taken to the login screen { header(\"Location: login.php\"); } ?> This code checks to see if a cookie exists for the user. If it does then the page is shown. If no cookie exists then the user is simply redirected to the login page so that they can log in. Step 5: Lastly, we are going to create a logout.php papge. Once you have created that file, then you can insert this code into the file: { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { //if the cookie has the wrong password, they are taken to the login page if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { header(\"Location linenums:0'><?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect(\"your.hostaddress.com\", \"username\", \"password\") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db(\"Database_Name\") or die(mysql_error()); //checks cookies to make sure they are logged in if(isset($_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\'])) { $username = $_COOKIE[\'ID_my_site\']; $pass = $_COOKIE[\'Key_my_site\']; $check = mysql_query(\"SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = \'$username\'\")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { //if the cookie has the wrong password, they are taken to the login page if ($pass != $info[\'password\']) { header(\"Location: login.php\"); } //otherwise they are shown the admin area else { ?> and then by adding this to the very bottom of the file (AFTER EVERYTHING!!!) <?php } ?> That is pretty much it. Please feel free to post any questions or comments and I will be more than happy to help you out.
  19. You know what... in this day and age I do not see that as a problem at all. You should see the couples that come through Las Vegas, and it doesnt matter who the other person is as long as you love them. I have see people of all races as happy as can be and on top of that I have seen young and old together and genuinely happy. I get the stares all the time too because I am only 24 and my girlfriend who I love very much is 38. People look at us weird but I feel that we are one of the best couples in the world because of our love for each other. And in the end that is all that truly matters is whether or not you love each other.
  20. Firefox is a great browser because of the expandability of its features. Everyone can pretty much customize firefox for their own personal needs. Me personally I do a lot of web designing so I have mine set up for screenshots and code viewing. Others might have theirs set up for photography and so forth. It is all a personal preference and firefox provides the best solutions.
  21. I highly doubt it is google. They are one of the only companies with a truely 100% uptime guaranteed service. I mean, granted in the event or a universal worldwide power outage, they would not go out. I would look into your ISP and see what they have to say about the problem.
  22. Overselling is great for the companies in their advertising and is also great for certain users because they can get more space for a lower price. When companies sell you 3000gb of bandwidth they do not expect you to use all 3000gb of bandwidth. One thing to watch out for is most companies who will remain nameless (cough***hostgator***cough), will have a clause in their agreement that will state if you use more than 25 percent of the shared servers processor for more than a few seconds then your hosting account will be banned until you upgrade to a VPS or a dedicated server. And trust me, they are not afraid to ban your accounts when you are using that much space. I signed up for hostgator when they were giving away 50GB of space and I hosted a video site so I just started uploading... after about 33 gigs, hostgator contacted me telling me that if I used any more space they would suspend me. I was like, well your site says I have 50 gigs of storage. This lady on the other end of the phone then said something that I will never forget... "ya but we dont expect users to actually use all of the space provided". lol So in short, overselling can affect high volume web masters such as myself.
  23. Opencube does provide a great application for the beginner in drop down CSS menus. However, they can get pretty intensive really quickly and your 2kb menu can soon turn into a 150kb menu, which you definitely want to avoid because it will increase the load time of your site and affect performance. I would recommend more getting some CSS menu tutorials and learning to program them from the ground up.
  24. Unfortunately killing yourself is not the option. That is really a cowards way out of everything. We would never feel alive if we could sometimes feel pain, hurt and suffering. We have all been through bad spots in our lives, hell I was at the point where I had the gun in my mouth and it was at that point that I realized that if I pulled the trigger it would be the stupidest mistake I have ever made, as there are many other reasons to live for, even if they are not aparant at the time. You should really get out there and start dating other people, it will get your mind off things pretty quick. Just dont try to resort to drugs, booze or crime as a way to cope with your anger and pain. I feel for you bro as we have all been there, just have the strength to get through this and move on with your life.
  25. First off I am very sorry for your problems and situations. It really does sound like she has moved on, especially when the emails and texts stop. But let me say this, you are only 19 dude. I made the mistake of getting married when I was 18 to my High School sweet heart(or so I thought at the time). We were unhappily married for almost 5 years and had 2 beautiful children together, but it was still a mistake.I was 23 when we split up and it gave me the opportunity to see what else was out there and what really made me happy, and I soon came to find out that it was the complete opposite of my ex.I would take this time as an opportunity to date a few other people and experiment around a bit. You would be surprised what you will find out there. As someone once said, there are a lot of fish in the sea. See what else is out there, maybe take this new girl out on a couple dates and see if anything sparks. Even check out a few party scenes and see what you can find in there, because it is obvious from her lack of response that your girlfriend has already moved on, now its your turn. And you never know, you might reconnect when she gets back from her trip.
