Well here is a tough situation and it may sound cliche for most of you, however it is where I am at right now. I have had a best friend of the opposite sex for almost 10 years. I can talk to her about ANYTHING and we have always gotten along so well. There has never been any kind of sexual tension between us, but laterly when I talk to her I feel like both of us are trying to avoid talking about a certain topic.I have genuine feelings for her and I would like to take our relationship to the next level, however I do not want to risk ruining our friendship by opening my mouth. I live in Las Vegas now and she lives up in Seattle but we remain in regular contact. How would you approach this to her if you were in my situation?

This is actually a lot closer than you think. Last year there was an android developer working on an application that would popup with coupons and offers depending on GPS coordinates. For example, if you were within a mile of a mcdonalds it would pop up with a coupon for it, or if you were near a store that was having a sale if would popup and let you know of the deals going on with that store. The only problem that they ran into was getting the businesses and retailers to participate and update their specials and items.

Number 1, in OScommerce, NEVER use the file manager to upload files. It upload the files in ASCII mode when they might need to be uploaded in binary mode. I recommend getting a program like cuteftp or using dreamweaver to edit and upload your PHP files. Whenever you go to install new modules always do a backup of the files that you are modifying or replacing. I have ended up having to do 3 to4 days worth of coding in order to reverse a problem that I did not back up on. If it is not too much trouble I would just try with a fresh install and reinstall all of your modules. If you would like I can give you some pointers on the easiest ways to back up your databases and then reintegrate them after the install.

I completely and totally agree with googles decision. As an adwords publisher the rates on certain keywords that I use sometimes suddenly skyrocket because of MFA (Made for Adsense) fly by night websites that sprout up and are gone within a month. Doing this will help control the MFA markets and will help real publishers like myself cut down on their advertising budget. This is a real problem especially in todays dying economy. I would hope that google would have done something about this a while ago.As an adsense publisher you can stand to potentially make A LOT of money if your site is getting hits and the content is good. For something that can be so lucrative and you are building a site in hopes of making money or even an income off of adsense then you wouldnt mind waiting for your domain to age to 6 months before you start advertising google. It would give you a good chance anyways to start building up traffic and quality content onto your site before you start putting ads on there anyways.

I actually stopped using pen drives about 2 years ago when SD became standard. I now buy nothing bu microsd cards that have the SD and miniSD adapters. This way I can slide the card into my laptop, cell phone or digital camera. It doesnt really matter. I dont know if a solution like this will work in your particular situation but in mine it works way better than a pen drive. Just a little food for thought.

Air Storage Storing data in the air wirlessly
princeofvegas replied to Tramposch's topic in Science and Technology
You could not logically store anything in the "air" because when you transmit something wirelessly it needs to go somewhere, anywhere and if there is nothing to receive it then you will just lose it completely. And if you had to build something to "store" the signal then you would not really be storing the data in the air, you would be storing it in a storage device. I agree with everyone else, the production costs on something like this would be astronomical and impractical. I am not trying to talk down or anything I am really just doing what I do best, playing the devils advocate... lol. -

Anyone Interested In Building Corporate Credit?
princeofvegas replied to princeofvegas's topic in Business Forum
For those of you following this topic here is the link to the guide... it is not yet completed, but it is complete enough for you to start using http://forums.xisto.com/topic/64475-establishing-a-corporation-building-corporate-credit-without-a-pg/ -
Here is my guide on establishing a corporation and building corporate credit without a personal guarantee. I wil update this guide as information updates but here is is for now and I hope it helps you guys. Establish the Business Name Your Company - The first step in this process is to select a company name. Be sure you pick one that has not been selected by another company in your state. Each state differs on how a corporation can be named. Before picking a final name you can check with your states Secretary of State website. "Appendix A" of this document will list the contact information for all fifty Secretary of State's. Incorporate Your Company - Now that you have selected your business name, you are going to need to establish your corporation with the state of your choosing. You must decide which type or corporation that you would like to form. There are three main types of corporations to choose from. They are General Corporation, Subchapter "S" Corporation and a Limited Liability Company (Please see Appendix . Almost all states require that you use an attorney's office or a registered agent so that there is a physical location on record where processes can be served. You can find many different companies online that can serve as your registered agent as well as take care of the process of filing your paperwork with the state. Some of the more well known companies are: Incorp Services - ($99 + State Fees) Free Registered Agent - ($24 + State Fees) Legal Zoom - ($139 + State Fees) BizFilings - ($229 + State Fees) Obtain an EIN - Once you have incorporated your business you will need to obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number. You can file form SS-4 online at the Internal Revenue Service Website. Once you have completed this form you will obtain your EIN in a matter of seconds. Be sure to print it out and write it down because they do not send you an email confirmation. This is the number that you will need in order to apply for credit under your business name without a personal guarantee. Establish a Location - So now you have your EIN and are incorporated. Your business needs to have a physical location that is not you home address. The UPS store will not work because most creditors have them flagged. An alternative is to get a Virtual Office in your home town. Most of these will supply you with a lease agreement (sometimes needed to get credit), license hanging services, you name on a wall plaque at the location, and mail forwarding services. You should be able to find these services bundled for about $100 per month. In addition, some of these places will even allow you small usage of the buildings conference room and offices for an additional fee. This is great if you just need a completely quite place to work for a few hours or if you need to sign a contract or conduct a board meeting. Some have said that using a home address work fine for most services, however, a separate location is the best bet to keep your personal credit distanced from the business. All these companies need to pull your personal credit is your name and address. Establish Phone Service - Now that you have a physical location for your business, you will need to establish a utility bill using your newly received EIN and business address. There are many choices for this step of the process. Contact your local telephone company and set up a business line for your company. This is the easiest option as it is all inclusive of all of the services that you are going to need. Most providers will have an economy plan that is in the $30 per month price range. Just make sure that the service is at the address you intend to use to apply for credit. Contact your local telephone company's business sales department and request what they call a Remote Call Forwarding Number. This is a number that the phone company manages on their end and it is forwarded to a number of your choosing. They will usually charge a setup fee and then $10 to $15 per month. Make sure you give them the address of the "office" that you set up and the EIN number. Also make sure that they will list you in the 411 directory under your address, not theirs. Another method that has been brought up is to get an 800 number and have it forwarded to a number of your choosing. You can then utilize List Yourself to add yourself to your local 411. However, this is not recommended because there is still no free way to list yourself in the national 411 directories that have been found. One last option that not all local phone providers offer is a foreign 411 Listing. You can contact your local phone company and ask them if they offer a foreign 411 listing service. They will normally charge a small set up fee and a few dollars per month for the listing service. This option is great if you already have an existing number that you want to use but it is not offered by every phone company. Establish a Checking Account - Once you have all of that in order, you can now open your corporate checking account. Once that is highly recommended is the Washington Mutual Free Business Checking Account. It only requires $100 to open the account, 2 forms of identification (a credit card and state ID will suffice), and your Articles of Incorporation. In some states, the banks will also require that you have a valid business license under your corporation name in order to secure a corporate bank account. Obtain D-U-N-S Number - Now you need to go to Dun & Bradstreet and obtain a D-U-N-S Number. This process will take about 30 days to get your D-U-N-S Number. DO NOT purchase their credit builder service no matter how much they push it upon you. You are not going to need it. Alternatively you can tell them that you are going to be applying for federal grants or government contracts and receive your number in a matter of days. To apply under the federal program you can go here. Apply for Credit - Now that you have everything that is required you can go ahead and start applying for credit for your business. You must take it slow and easy however, because one wrong move can cost you plenty of headache and lost time. Establishing Your Business Credit Establish your Initial Accounts Once you have everything that is required to apply for credit you can go about establishing your initial accounts. Before you go applying everywhere think again. This is a slow process and your business credit might be flagged or even blocked if you apply to too many places at once. I recommend that you start out with 6 to 8 companies on NET30 terms. Below is a list of companies that offer NET30 Terms. Purchase a small initial order from each of these companies that approved you for NET30. Pay your invoice off well before its due date as that is how the D&B Paydex Score is calculated. FedEx / Kinkos - May Require a Credit Card to Secure Quill Corp - Credit Department: 1-800-634-3090 U-Line - Accounting Department: 1-800-295-5510 Veripack - Billing Department: 1-800-225-8255 Rapid Forms - Billing Department: 1-800-257-5287 Reliable - Accounting Department: 1-800-359-5000 UPS - May Require a Credit Card to Secure Grainger - Customer Service: 1-888-361-8649 Interstate Battery - Online Application DHL - May Require a Credit Card to Secure Office Depot - Call 1-800-GO-DEPOT Gemplers - Billing Department: 1-800-382-8473 Deluxe Checks - Customer Service: 1-800-328-0304 Barnes & Noble - PO Department: 1-212-414-6000 WearGuard / Aramark - Billing Department: 1-800-388-3300 What is a Paydex Score A Paydex score is what D&B uses to tell potential creditors about your payment history and worthiness. It scales from a range from 0 to 100, 100 being the best possible score. You are going to want to keep your Paydex score at or above 80. 100 - Pays before invoice is generated. 90 - Pays during discount period. 80 - Pays when invoice is due. 70 - Pays 15 days beyond terms. 60 - Pays 22 days beyond terms. 50 - Pays 30 days beyond terms. 40 - Pays 60 days beyond terms. 20 - Pays 90 days beyond terms. UN - Unavailable Wait for Paydex Score In order to receive a Paydex score, you will need to have five trade lines reporting to D&B. Once you have five reporting you will be assigned your Paydex score. Now that you have this Paydex score you can move on to establishing revolving accounts. While You Wait While you are waiting for your Paydex score to come through, you should also be able to open a revolving charge account at Staples without having your Paydex score. Most people get approved for $750 right off the bat. You will need to fax them in a copy of your phone bill however or at the very least have your company listed in the 411. Getting a Cell Phone If you need cellular service for your business you should use you business name and EIN to obtain a cellular phone. Most carriers will approve you for service without any deposits. Some of them are: T-Mobile - Business Service: 1-888-537-4242 Sprint / Nextel - Business Services: 1-888-788-4727 Alltel Wireless - Business Services: 1-888-428-2499 Building Your Business Credit Establish More Trade Lines Now that you have your Paydex Score you are going to want to begin applying to companies for revolving credit accounts. One thing to note is that you DO NOT want to go on application sprees. This is the WORST thing you can do. It could cause your file to be flagged and blocked at D&B. You should start by applying to just a couple of companies. Continuing Your Building Always wait a few weeks in between applying for more trade lines and only do one or two at a time. Again is it important to stress that you should NEVER go on application sprees. This affects your business credit just as bad as if you were to do it with your personal credit. Revolving Credit Companies Here is a list of companies that offer credit on revolving terms (the ones that have been reported has being harder to get are at the bottom). Please remember that if they ask you for a personal guarantee to tell them you do not want to give it. Most times the company will just process the application without it. I am only listing the ones that have been reported as not needing a personal guarantee: Staples - Apply Online Office Depot - Apply Online Walmart - Apply Online Sams Club - Apply In Store Frys Electronics - Apply In Store Home Depot - Apply Online Lowes - Apply Online Sears - Apply In Store Dell Inc - Apply Online Amazon.com - Apply Online US Bank Skypass Visa - Apply In Branch HDMC Group - Apply Online Target - Apply In Store Gas Cards Here is a list of gas cards that you can get without a personal guarantee as well. These will come in handy when you are on the road for business : Conoco / 76 - Apply Online Shell Gasoline - Apply Online Exxon / Mobile - Apply Online Chevron - Apply In Store Sunoco - Apply In Store

Changing Email Address In Forum And Xistosupport
princeofvegas posted a topic in Web Hosting Support
Hello,I am wondering if it is as all possible to change the email address that is used by the forum and the one that is used by Xisto - Support without losing the mycents link or access to any of my domains or anything. ANy help would be advised.Thank You,JT -
Well I think that the very first problem with this is that it would cost wayyyy too much money to build something like this. The amount of resources required for this would be more than we probably have available to spare for any such luxury as an elevator to space. Our tallest buildings to date are engineering marvels. I have no idea how a structure this tall would even support itself. This is truely a question to ponder and wonder if the benefits would outweigh the costs (if it were even possible in the first place).

You seem to be forgetting that there is going to be A LOT of money coming back to us, the taxpayers. There are alost a lot of tax breaks and such this year for us. For example, if you buy a car in the year 2009, you are able to get a tax writeoff. Not to mention the stimulus checks that we are going to all be getting at the beginning of 2010.Now as for these Dept of Defense contracts, they are going to remain in the United States. My grandfather is part of a defense contracting company and they are going to be receiving huge bonuses from the government if they keep their work inside the united states instead of outsourcing it to companies outside of the united states. Now if only the government would do something like that for our IT corporations such as microsoft and whatnot. If the government gave gthem a bonus to keep their call centers inside the US, then that would create sooo much more jobs for our population.

They probably went with windows because of its usability. I could only imagine trying to explain to a bunch of jarheads (no offense intended) how to operate a linux system. Windows is just more widely used. Maybe when linux becomes more mainstream people will start switching to it, including the military's and governments.

My problem with this is that Afghanistan is of no strategic importance to the United States anymore. The taliban have fled to the mountains of pakistan and they are not really any match for the afghani army anymore. We really have no business being there in the first place and now we are going to send more troops. It is only a matter of time before there is another excuse to add more troops to iraq too. We will just wait and see what happens.

I have always had this in the back of my mind forever. If you toss an object straight up in the air and it comes back down, when the object reaches its pinnacle does it come to a complete stop before coming back down or is it constantly moving. I would like your ideas and thoughts on this because this has been eating at me forever.

Wireless Electricity tranfer electricity without wires
princeofvegas replied to Reaper's topic in Science and Technology
Ok this is weird because when I was younger I was thinking about the same thing. However, it is possible to transmit electricity between to points without having a connection in between, unfortunately there is no safe way to do this without causing harm to us. And for the amount of electricity required in order to run say a computer, if would electrocute anyone that comes close to it. Until we come up with a better and safer power source, I do not see this as a viable option. Maybe in the future with newer power sources this will become a possibility. -
Does Dating Sites Help To Find The Life Partner?
princeofvegas replied to sarahlandry's topic in Dating And Relationships
I dont really know about dating sites. About the most I have found on those sites are one night stands. Especially living here in Las Vegas. Although love does find itself in mysterious ways. I met my current girlfriend, who I feel I am going to marry on MySpace. It was a random encounter and we talked online for about a week. We then decided to meet up and since then we have been inseperable. By that I am serious, we have been together for almost 8 months and have been with each other every single day. So I guess I could say that you can find love online, but not if you go looking for it.... it will just happen to find you one of these days. -
How To Pro-long Your Laptop Battery Life tips and tricks
princeofvegas replied to SofiaComp's topic in Hardware Workshop
The best way that I have prolonged my laptop battery was to switch to Linux. IN there there were so many ACPI configurations such as CPU throttling and auto dim I took a laptop that would only last at best 3 hours under the best situation in windows vista and I now get easily 7 to 8 hours on it in linux. If you are looking for battery life then linux is the way to go. YOu should check out the Ubuntu or Gentoo forums and search for laptop battery and you will see what I mean. -
Learned On Their Own Who here is self tought?
princeofvegas replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
Everything I know about computers and programming, I pretty much taught myself. My parents bought me my first computer when I was 6 years old and from there I had to know everything about it. My elementary school in New Mexico was one of the first in the country to have acces to the internet and I can still remember tracking the mayaquest as they moved through mexico.I then became interested in how programs were made and how websites were made, now let me remind you that at this time there were no books, so I went into the source code for the programs and pretty much broke it down and figured it out on my own. The first bit of computer programming that I learned was modifying the gorillas game that came with BASIC.When it came to website I pretty much learned HTML when it was at 3.0. and from that point it has been difficult keeping up with the technology so I have now focused on just one area, PHP and mysql because it is the most commonly used and it is so versatile. I did try going to school a few years back but soon found out that I knew more than my instructors. I quickly tested out of almost all of my classes and earned my diploma in no time at all. -

Us Okays Spaceport Whats next?
princeofvegas replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
Well lets hope that this topic doesnt start as big of a controversy as the last topic that you started about iran. lol. I think that this is a big waste of money but I do think that this is promising and that this will not be a taxpayers expense, but at the cost of the corporations. Virgin Atlantic will probably pay a pretty penny to lease this from the government and might even help pump some money and more jobs into the economy. On the other hand look at the state of our economy and yet there are people willing to pay 200,000 for a 3 minute sub-orbital flight? That is rediculous. I would pay that much if I was going to be able to spend a week or even a month on a space station, but not for that short of a flight. Maybe these people should start investing their money into the economy and we will see a better economic growth. -
Finding Online Work That Pays online work
princeofvegas replied to MSimple's topic in Business Forum
In short, there really are no online money making opportunities that will make you eanough money to live off of. You might be able to find some that will supplement your income but not completely replace it. Especially do not get suckered into the ones that you have to pay for in order to start earning money. There are plenty of survey sites and whatnot that will give you a little extra spending cash. I have participated in a few and it helps when they send you an extra 20 or 40 bucks that you werent expecting. If you really want to make money online I would recommend starting up your own company online or get involved in the still lucrative ebay business. -
Anyone Interested In Building Corporate Credit?
princeofvegas replied to princeofvegas's topic in Business Forum
Thank you for offering that. I am actually going to make it into a PDF ebook and just post the link on here. I am almost done editing it and will be posting it soon. I am just glad that there are people here that this can help. I was in the same situation and this is the result of probably a hundred hours worth of internet research. I will post again once I get the ebook uploaded.
