Are Mobile Phones Dangerous? to the users health...
rvalkass replied to googlue's topic in Mobile Phones
I think mobile phones affect different people in different ways. There are people I know who have had mobile phones since they were 6 years old and still report no ill effects. On the other had there are some people who get headaches after using a mobile for only a few minutes a day. People are all different and must each have a different level of resistance to whatever radiation (if any) is emitted from a mobile telephone. On the subject of mobile telephone masts, I belive that if these are in a very mobile-heavy area, the collaboration of signals can cause illness, as this is far more than the radiation emitted by one mobile, and much more than a human can handle. -
Surely, though, as leaders come and go, someone corrupt will manage to get themselves into power and start wars to extend their empire? As you say, governments are becoming increasingly corrupt, so as new leaders come, are they likely to turn around and declare peace with all nations upon earth?Peace between nations could never occur without a central, worldwide government, which will never happen, as countries will refuse to join.

I have to agree that 1st Page is great if you are new to creating web pages, as it acts just like a word processor and I think it has some tutorials. However, if this is still a little complicated you could always create the pages in MS Word or Publisher, but that would be a last resort. The editor Nvu () is also very good, although slightly different to other editors.

I bought the cheapest laser mouse I could as soon as they came out. The one I got with my PC was way too inaccurate for anything but I couldn't be bothered to buy another ball mouse. I really need a new mouse as it seems really inaccurate compared to the latest ones.

Php News Script how to make news script that uses MySQL writen in PHP
rvalkass replied to Corey's topic in Programming
On the subject of dtygel's suggestions:1. Could this be done using the PHP mail() function?2. A search could be done by asking the user for a search term in a text field and asking what to search in e.g Date, Title etc and also placing that in a variable. Then selecting the appropriate results from the SQL database. The search could also help with the email, to ensure that only the current months news is mailed.Just a thought -
My favourite games are Age Of Mythology: Titans on PC, as it combines strategy and action very well. I don't play Runescape as it gets far too repetitive, even if you do pay! I've also played loads of racing games online and enjoy MS Flight Simulator if I have time and enough people are playing online.

I use GMail (x2), Hotmail, Mail.com, ISP, School (@thegrid.org.uk) and numerous POP3 accounts on various websites. The POP3 accounts are by far the best as they are so customizeable and the range of addresses available means I don't have to add numbers after my chosen sign in name. GMail comes second, purely for the fact that the space is increasing daily and the availability of the GMail shell extension. I have two accounts, one for emails and one for file storage. GMail is my main email provider due to the speed (much faster than Hotmail) and there are less adverts. I would NOT advise anyone to use a mail.com account as they are slow, full of adverts, randomly close your account without warning (happened to me and some of my friends) and give you no space at all. Also, does anyone know if it is possible to use a GMail account with any messenger software, as this would make my life far easier? Thanks!

I do not think peace will ever be possible. There will always be one person, somewhere who is corrupt. Even if all weapons are destroyed, all leaders removed and replace with a worldwide central government, someone will always be hungry for power and will find others like them to cause an uprising. Surely if peace was possible it would have already happened. If cavemen who only has wooden clubs and spears had the occasional fight over land, we are still doing the same, but over larger pieces of land with larger weapons. Peace is a human impossibility and if anything is drifting further and further from our grasp, day by day. For peace, you need freedom and equality, and there will always be a person who feels they are being discriminated against or restricted from doing something. If wars are stopped there will still be uprisings inside countries against governments, preventing peace from ever being achieved.

Thanks very much for this tutorial. I have seen others but thay have not worked as well or look as good as this script. I am astounded you are willing to provide this script for free, as I have seen others on the Internet costing upwards of $10. Thank you very much and good luck with any more coding you do!

I use Google for everyday searches but use an engline called Teoma for any more specialised searches, as you can read more of the page and get more information just from the results screen. Googles features such as the calculator, especially the conversions, are very useful.I use AltaVista for images as there are more customisable searches, such as specifying size and colours. This can come in very handy that trawling through pages of useless results.I do not use Yahoo or AOL as they are far too slow and are full of adverts and the results are often out of date or totally unrelated. Its Google and Teoma mainly though. Its interesting to see just how many people use Google over anything else.

My favourite cars are the Caterhams (http://uk.caterhamcars.com/). They just look like a classic racing car, with no extras. They are purely what is needed for a good, fun drive. The best of the lot has to be the Superlight model: Picture 1 Picture 2 It may only have 230 horse power, but the weight (or lack of it) gives a top speed of 150mph (240kph) and 0 to 60 in just over 3 seconds. They're great to drive, just not practical, especially in the wet British weather On the matter of practicality it has to be one of the Peugeot estates, as you get masses of space and can put seats up in the boot like an MPV. Some of the other choices have been interesting too.

The Internet itself doesn't make people 'stupid'. If anything the information on the Internet makes people wiser day by day. Yes, some people do believe everything they read, but many of these people do not become 'stupid' from reading these pieces of information on the Internet. Any misinformation people collect from the Internet is often corrected by someone else or further reading into the topic.

Runescape (online Game By Jagex) Anyone play it?
rvalkass replied to melkonianarg's topic in Computer Gaming
Good luck on the game.I, like many others, detest the game due to bad graphics, poor gameplay and the fact that its more addicting than nicotine, meaning I can never get on the PC as my brother is always playing it. (His account is roberto4 I think).I played it for a week, then played Pong for a few hours and found that far more interesting. -
Age Of Empires Vs Medal Of Honour! What do you pick???
rvalkass replied to lud@m@n's topic in General Discussion
I prefer AOE over Medal Of Honour, however, I think Age Of Mythology is better than both, although it detracts slightly from the original AOE. But as rattler108 says, they are both very different games and its difficult to compare them. I suppose I just get more enjoyment out of playing Age Of Empires / Mythology. -
I just found this board so I thought I'd post a little about myself. My name is Rob Valkass and I'm 14. I live in a small village in the middle of nowhere in Hertfordshire, England.I'm currently studying for my GCSEs (Year 10) and I have taken the following subjects:** English Language and Literature** Maths** Chemistry, Physics and Biology** Electronic Science and Production** Physical and Human Geography** Graphic Design** German Language** Religion** Applied ICTWow! I never knew I took so many subjects! Anyway, I am a keen cyclist and web designer and spend most of my free time doing one or the other. I also randomly make pictures using the Terragen software and hope to set up a gallery / tutorial website when I have enough forum credit things.Thats about it!

I discovered Xisto through a similar hosting service. A member in the suggestions forum posted asking for features such as those provided here be available on their hosting system. Unfortunately the request was declined so I instantly took a look at Xisto.

This may be a rather bleak outlook for the future of humanity, but I believe that computers will end up managing everyday tasks, not only in the home, but will be operating every part of life, from manufacturing the car totally separate from human intervention to driving you to your destination. Unfortunately, as with all computers, there will be a crash or faliure somewhere, however, by the time it is realised computers will be unable to manage the planet everyone will have lost their basic skills of survival. It would be a very sad day if computers were the downfall of the human race...

Which Is Faster Broadband, Dsl Or Cable
rvalkass replied to football123213's topic in Science and Technology
I am using a DSL connection at 512kbps at the moment (getting upgraded in the summer ). We have cable at my school and it continually goes down throughout the day for no apparant reason. My DSL connection has been going faultless for over 3 years and the price has been dropping. I'm still glad I picked it over cable.
