Agoracart.com Website and Shopping cart system.
Zeyomie posted a topic in Websites and Web Designing
I Come to the conclusion that this site and cart system is not worth the time and effort you have to put into it. First of all, the cart it self is complicated. Things like categories are hard coded so you have to hunt down the file they are in and edit them, then hope like hell you don't typo when adding your products. If you do, forget it, it's not getting added. Now they have detailed documents that explain how to do this with the assumption that you already know your way around the system. God forbid you've never used it before. Now back to their website. I've considered the fact that you might have to be registered and logged in to find some of their resources, templates and what not. However, getting registered is the hard part. No matter what e-mail address I used I got "That does not look like a valid email" I'm sorry I don't have any other e-mails. WTF? Now for those areas you try to access without being registered, the "For Merchants" section, happens to be under construction, as is the downloads section, the templates section shows you the templates that come with the default install and nothing else. As do the buttons. If you look at the copywrite at the bottom is says You would think after 7 years they would have completed construction on the site and all areas would be accessible. This is of course the free version of the cart were talking about. I haven't looked at the "Gold" Paid version, perhaps that is maintained properly. But after an attempt to use the free version I'm completely turned off the cart all together. So, website I give a 6/10 simply because it's a good informative site about their cart, just hope you never need support for anything. I give the cart a 5/10. It's looks like a secure system if you know what your doing it would probably be a good cart system if you don't plan on adding anything after it's initially set up. But still, Not for a beginner who doesn't know a whole lot of coding for this type of thing. -
I used to rarely visit Youtube to begin with, but I highly doubt they are going under. They may be getting rid of the older videos in an effort to reduce costs much like everyone else. Or server loads, etc. I could be completely wrong though, Like I said I don't go there much, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Obama As President Of The Usa What do you expect will happen first?
Zeyomie replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
If he doesn't get assassinated within the next month or so. I agree, I think unemployment is the biggest issue right now. With so many layoffs as of late unemployment is through the roof. A lot of the other issues stem from that as you mentioned home foreclosures will go down, and property values will return, as will an influx of money in the economy. People will be able to afford things again which will in turn help those smaller companies who rely on peoples business, be it home improvements, maintenance, whatever the case may be with a small business service. I think another stimulas return in with tax refunds will also be expected. That influx of cash in the economy will give a lot of people the boot they need to pay bills and stay on their feet. At least I hope that is the plan. God knows we need it. Course, any return I get gets sucked away for student loans, my hubbys for back child support. We never get to see cash from the government. At least his goes to his son. It just would be nice if he got to see his son in return, but that never happens either. I personally think things like the stimulas should not be touchable by other agencies. I can understand it going for child support, we pay that when ever we can but were always broke, this week we have to figure out how to buy diapers. But my student loans, If I could pay that I would, but no, the gov's got to suck away every penny. Even from the pennyless. -
X-box has been around for some time, therefore there are a lot of different games for it, I don't have any of the latest consoles, but I know the 360 is good. Playstation 3 is the latest thing out there. I don't know if it's better then the 360 or not, I've never seen it in action like I have with the 360. But it comes with a Hard Drive (Like the 360) and plays blueray disks (360 does not). You'd have to research what PS3 games there are and see if that is what you are looking for. Now there is the Wii as well, which is extremely popular. However it is far from realistic in graphics, it does require more physical activity to play the games. Hence it's popularity with adults as well as children. I personally want all 3 and i will probably never get 1, if I did though it would probably be a 360.

Weather Chasers Any weather chasers around
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
I've been close to too many tornadoes to actually want to chase them. I have however been to a storm chasers class before. It was rather interesting. One of the things I remember was an illustration of a tornado chasing a truck that was pulling a trailer. The tag line read "It's been chasing us for miles, we have to give it what it wants. Release the mobile home!" But yeah, there was one time I was sitting in my car at a car wash avoiding the hail and then all the sudden the sirens went off, then transformers started blowing and when lightning struck we could see the tornado a few hundred feet away. It was huge, one of the worst Fort worth ever saw. Scary stuff that. -
Evacuation Plans Page Not Found or has been moved
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in The Vent
Wow, Echo, I didn't realize you were so passionate about it. But I see your point. Every state should have that, and in my honest opinion not just one either. There should be several evacuation plans for different crisis. If you ask me there is also a serious lack of shelters in rural areas. I live 20 miles from town and have no car. If there was ever a tornado or something to come this way, were beeped. -
"similar Topics" Module This is a bug, I suppose
Zeyomie replied to DeM0nFiRe's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yeah really, that might help with all those really old topics from years ago that keep getting drudged up by people trying to raise their post count. Especially those with nothing to contribute. I usually ignore those topics because they are so old. I think it's better to stay with the more up-to-date posts. You get the people who are active and actually use the information rather then people who aren't around anymore. -
So we can start reporting those 1 post "Go here" posts... What about those who post just one line. "I agree with that" type posts, those who post just a couple words that are clearly under the 150(I think) character minimum. The ones where there is nothing substantial, nothing really added to the post, just spam basically. I've seen a lot of those.

How To Get Website Traffic? Website Traffic
Zeyomie replied to RimsList's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I am also looking to get more traffic. Echo suggested using link exchanges. I signed up for one, but haven't done anything with it yet, maybe this afternoon. Good luck with your site. -
I personally like cats. Wild and domestic. The black panther and white tigers are my favorite wild cats, as for domestic, a sweet natured tabby would be the best kitty for me out of them all. Nothing special, just a good sweet cat.

Are You Haveing Bad Experience With Yahoo Mail? yahoo mail works lame ?
Zeyomie replied to sitesmakers's topic in Software
I was having problems a couple weeks ago. It was saying I had hundred of messages when i had like one. And I still get message errors where it says my mail cannot be accessed from time to time. Very annoying. -
I just watched the new movie trailer which is due out May 9th. While the trailer looks exciting I'm kinda disturbed about the whole going back to the original series. One of my qualms is the fact the actors look NOTHING like the original actors, The new spock doesn't even look taller then the new kirk. Which has always been the case. Now I plan on seeing the new movie, but I don't think it would be the same. It'll be ruined in a way by this. Some might say much in the way enterprise ruined things for the series.I'm not a die hard fan, but I am a trekkie, I have my collection, I've seen every episode of every series, just about anyway, and I could name most actors by their real name, not all but most. And I've met quite a few in person. I plan on having an objective view when this movie comes out,Anyway, My question is, what do you think of each series and/or movie? Which is your favorite? Which can you not stand? Opinions? Qualms? Rants? Go for it.

Web Sites To Come sites of today and tomarrow
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah, i remember those, they let you have like virtual people and the chat bubbles above them, and you and move around the 3d room. I gave up on the long ago. My computer couldn't handle it, much like anything new and cool! My computer is a dinosaur, it was brand new in like '04/'05 now, it's a stone age POS -
Name Brand Or Knock Off's which do you like best?
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
I personally think people create brand names for two reasons, one so they can charge an outrageous price for something and two so they can make a cheap knockoff of the same product. Then when people see the knockoff they say "who wants a knockoff when I can have this name brand item thats worth so much more." while others see the name brand and buy the knockoff because it's so much cheaper. it's a monopoly to get you to spend money, so these huge companies can make a killing. The name brand handbag costs maybe 1/10 of the price you pay for it. thats 90% profit of the $1,000 or so dollars someone spends on it. Me, I rarely buy anything and If I do I certainly wouldn't buy the name brand when the knock off is just as good. -

Yeah, I imagine it will be a lot more virtual. Where everything is a touch screen. Have you ever watched Star Trek enterprise? There is an episode where they pick up this PADD from the future, (29th or 31st century I forget which) Anyway, it pops up this holographic screen that responds to your movements, allowing you to navigate the information with a wave of your hand. I totally think that would be the coolest thing ever. -
You mean one more TOS movie? I know they ended a lot of the characters in TNG. Or at least gave them a final direction. McCoy, Spock, Scotty, They even had Sulu in Voyager. However the whatever happened to Checkov, or Uhura etc, is still out there. I'm a trekkie too... Though I admit I've not read the books, there are so many to choose from. I also have TAS on a dvd somewhere but not watched it.

I'm a big sci-fi fan when it comes to reading, or rather in general. I'm a sci-fi nut. Anyway, my favorite authors are Anne McCaffrey, Robert Jordan, and Lois McMaster Bujold, I've read almost every book in McCaffrey's pern series. I'm reading the Wheel of time series, and the sword of truth series. I have read the first book in Bujold's Vorkosagan series, twice and I would read it again but I'm trying to get the rest of them read. Anyway, I'm always looking for new books, authors and what not to read. So my question is, who are you favorite authors or book series. What would you recommend reading?

It is a right, any marriage is a right. And they have been denied that right in the US within the legal system. Just like people are denied to "right" to own firearms for whatever reason. You have to have a license to own a firearm, you also have to have a license to marry someone. And gays are denied that right. However you look at it, it's not just a privilege. This is supposed to be a free country, yet people are not free to marry whoever they want if they are of the same gender. Many times they are persecuted for expressing their feelings to their partner. It can never truly be a free country until these basic rights are restored, and that will never happen as long as there is prejudice.

Well, I've finally settled onto an opinion, and selected an impression of this Saint_Michael... Sign me up yo! He has got to go...

I completely believe in god. I in my life have on several occasions had my prayers answered by god in various ways. Inspiration, understanding, emotional wellbeing. Whatever the case it has led me to believe in god. Now, here is the kicker for me. I was raised as one of Jehovah's witnesses, I'm sure everyone here knows who they are and if you don't, what rock have you been living under? lol Anyway, I was always taught by the bible, and that it's gods word and we should follow it as he over time will allow us to understand it's meanings and the end of the system (IE our current condition the state the world is in, whatever.) Is coming to an end, more the likely in our lifetime, and even more likely in the next few years. Maybe even tomorrow!. Anyway, I was raised with these beliefs, loving your neighbor, don't be hypocritical of your brother and what not. Well as an adult, I pretty much removed myself from the congregation. For one, even if I was in it still I would be disfellowshipped anyway because I live with and have a child with a man whom I'm not married to. So that doesn't even matter. For two, every congregation I ever attended was full of hypocrites. People saying encouraging things to your face, then talking s**t behind your back to others there. I literally got sick of it. My family is no exception. They claim to be witnesses in spite of their inactivity. Yet, they are horrible, controlling manipulative SOB's. My mother and sister are the worst! I prefer to spend time with my cousins who are both no longer witnesses because they respect me as a person far more then my mother or sister ever would. How they can claim to be so righteous, and be such cruel backstabbers is beyond me. Now, I would never discourage anyone from seeking out the religion, if you listen to the word, and follow the teachings it does make sense, however, i would encourage finding your faith with those who are at least less hypocritical. Everyone has their faults, but those who faults stumble others should have the line drawn. Back on subject, To me, god is real, he exists in heaven and right now he is very disappointed in me. If the world ended tomorrow, I'd be screwed, but thats my choice, made on account of the actions of others, so I know there would be a lot of other people screwed with me, since they would be accountable. If that makes any sense. People who choose to not believe in god, that like anything else is a choice, given to you by god in the form of your own free will. If you really think about it. Both Science and religion are correct. The bible says god created the heavens and the earth in 6 days. Well, those were creative days that could actually have been millions of years. Who is to say God didn't create the BIG BANG that started the universe? It's all about perspective. Okay, I'm done. ^^
