  1. Its been around for a while now but I just finally got on board so sorry if you already know. I'm late to a lot of things haha. Well anyway for those who don't know espn offers text alerts for all your favorite sports. Don't have time to watch Sports Center today (maybe you should loosen up your schedule) no problem espn texts you all the lastest new when it happens. Unlike Sports Center you don't have to watch all the sports you don't care about. Best of all its free and you can stop at anytime. All you do is go to this link http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Sign in your espn account or make one if you don't have one. I had one since I play fantasy football there already. Enter your cell number And then pick the sports, teams, or players that you want news about sent to your phone.
  2. Do you remember Space Jam? I remember Space Jam. How could you not? Michael Jordan. The Looney Tunes. Some... other people. I didn't care about any of them. I just cared about MJ and Bugs Bunny mostly. Michael was a good sport for being in a movie like that and it did feature a lot of cameos from NBA stars. I just like it when athletes can come together on a project like that. In case you didn't see it, I'll give a brief plot summary from what I remember. So Bugs and the guys are all in Looney Tune land when these aliens come down and want to use the Looney Tunes as entertainers in their galactic theme parks or something. So Bugs is just toying with the shrimps and tells them sure, if they beat them in basketball. So the aliens steal the talent from NBA players in the real world and grow all huge to become the Mon-Stars. Meanwhile MJ is retired and is just failing at baseball. Bugs lures him to Tune world and convinces him to join the team. They play and win (because you know, Michael Jordan retired is still better than 5 NBA all stars put together), the players get their talent back and all is restored. What might you ask was the best part of the movie? The soundtrack of course! My mom bought me the cassette and I listened to it all the time. It had some cool sporty type songs to get you pumped, some softer, inspirational types (I Believe I Can Fly). Oh yeah, it also had one of the best rap collaborations OF ALL TIME. B Real (from Cypress Hill aka the "Insane in the Membrane" guys), Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J, and Method Man joined forces from Hit Em High (The Monstars Anthem) which to this day is still one of the tightest songs period. The best part, they made a video for it! Be sure to check out if anybody's verse, check out LL. He murders this one. Busta Rhymes is an animal as usual. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  3. So here is my second review here for you guys. Now bear with me on this one. I am a bit late on this one since it did come out in 2008, but given the huge surge in the *gulp* Vampire Romance genre as of late, it seems pretty relevant. I'm going to get it right out of the way, this is a Swedish film, so if you are too stupid to read subtitles, don't bother. I guess the DVD version does have English dubbing, but I still need to buy it. More on that later. Now before you start rolling your eyes as I was when a friend suggested this movie, give it an honest shot. It's been a rough year for vampires and I promise you that this movie features no vampires who sparkle in the daytime and will not inspire you to join any meaningless "team". And hey, if you don't trust me, why not trust RottenTomatoes.com which in 147 reviews, ONE HUNDRED FORTY THREE WERE POSITIVE GIVING THIS MOVIE AN AWESOME RATING OF NINETY-SEVEN PERCENT. I hope that got your attention. The film takes place in where else but Sweden and follows a grade school boy named Oskar. Oskar is kind of a punk and gets picked on frequently by the school bullies. Meanwhile there are murders being committed in the town so everybody is a bit on edge. I'll reveal some more since this stuff is revealed in the first half of the movie and not part of some big ending twist or anything. Well, the murders are being committed by a guy who believe it or not, he's not a vampire. He's not, his daughter, or whoever she is is the vampire. I guess I missed whether or not they make it clear. They are living together and he goes out killing people, collecting some blood, and hiding their bodies so she can drink it no problems. I hesitate from saying that that is his daughter because while he is an older man, the vampire, Eli, says that she's been 12 for a very long time. How long is that? Who knows. Either way, I'm spending way too much time on this, but I like to appear thorough. So the man is doing his killing and in the meantime Oskar meets Eli and they become friends. They learn Morse code together and start communicating by knocking on the walls of their conveniently adjacent apartments. The problem is, Eli's blood provider is having a bunch of close calls and eventually, he screws up royally. Rather than get caught and have the cops trace him back to Eli, he mars his face so he can't be identified. In his last act of helping Eli, he offers himself to her and she sucks his blood just before he falls out the hospital window to his death. This leaves Eli alone to get the blood for herself while Oskar is painfully unaware of what is the deal with his girlfriend. Maybe he's too distracted by the bullies who have it out for him now more than ever. The film has a lot of great moments throughout it that really won me over. I mean seriously, this is a vampire romance movie. The past year has taught me to hate the genre and yet this film comes along and is a new favorite of mine. It is satisfying up through and including the ending. It rarely drags and never comes off as corny. It also sticks to a lot of vampire lore for all you geeks out there (as in, things vampires are supposed to do as opposed to stand in the sunlight so they sparkle). All and all, it's an awesome movie that I can't wait to add to my collection. However, wouldn't you know things aren't that simple.Apparently there is quite the controversy over the DVD release of this movie. THEY CHANGED THE ENGLISH SUBTITLES FROM THE ORIGINAL THEATRICAL VERSION. Now, let me explain what it means with an example I read. At one point when the blood collector has a boy he's ready to kill, the boy's friends are waiting for him and yell through the window something like, "Hurry up, you can jerk off at home!" where as the new DVD subtitles say something like "Hurry up, time to go home!". Now, that may seem picky, but which statement has more character to you? The second one is just dumbed down and pretty basic. Apparently, this sparked quite the outrage and the company released a new version with the original theatrical subtitles. Only problem, THERE IS NO DISTINCTION ON THE BOX. Well, almost none. Apparently if you look on the back it should say under the subtitles section English (Theatrical) instead of just English. The problem is, the old DVDs and the new DVDs still have the same number and everything, so if you are buying it online you just have to cross your fingers and hope you get the version you want because most online retailers aren't thorough enough to give you all that information before buying. Or they might not even know. They might have both versions just mixed together. Here's what was suggested to me and what I plan to do. Proceed as normal and find the best price you can online for the DVD version. When you get it, look on the back. If it says English (Theatrical) congratulations, you won. If not, here's what you do. Don't open the DVD packaging. Go to Wal-mart or whatever store you hate with a passion. Find the DVD and find one that has the theatrical subtitles. Buy it. Then, use your receipt and return the one you got online that didn't have the theatrical subtitles. The retailers don't know the difference because as I said, both versions have the same id number. Okay, sorry for that digression, but trust me, once you see this movie, it will be well worth the wait and all the work. And one more interesting thought, tell me if this isn't stupid. The novel this movie is based on came out in 2004. This movie came out in 2008. They are now making an American version due out in 2010 called Let Me In. WHY? I could understand if it's been 30 years, but WHY MAKE A REMAKE OF A TWO YEAR OLD FILM ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS A MASTERPIECE?!?!?!?I have no clue, but do yourself a favor and see the original so when the remake comes out, you can sound like a cool kid by talking about how much better this one is.
  4. Welcome to Xisto SinceUrUp! Notpron is a pretty addicting game haha. I'm interested to see how your game comes out. Be sure to private message me when ever you finish it ha. Enjoy your stay here.

  6. Where to begin with Shutter Island? Well, I had been excited about this movie ever since seeing the trailer for it, before Inglourious Basterds I think. I guess I shouldn't really judge movies by their trailers though as seen in my favorite movies post. I had been checking up on this movie with interest only to see that it had only earned a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes. Even worse, I watched At the Movies today and both said to skip it. How could this be? I have seen a few Scorsese films. Not the certified classics like Taxi Driver or Raging Bull (their on my list), but I found Goodfellas entertaining and thought the Departed was awesome. How did he screw this one up?Well, in short, he didn't. He really, really didn't. In fact, this movie was awesome. Like, really really awesome. In case you are in the dark, Shutter Island follows a U.S. Marshall in 1954 sent to investigate the disappearance of a prisoner from the mental facility on Shutter Island. It's not as easy as it sounds since security is very tight and the management is not very helpful in his investigation. That's not to say he's the perfect guy by any means. He served in WWII and was part of a group that liberated a concentration camp. The memories still haunt him. The movie is about an investigation so for that I won't reveal much else about the plot. I won't spoil this movie because it's a movie you need to see.As you may have guessed, the movie is very creepy. The mental patients are all really well played. They are just some lunatics jumping around screaming, but simply people who are functioning how they believe they should based on their perception of reality. The whole film has this aura of eerie mystery. They don't waste any time either. A few titles pop up and then BAM, we're on the boat and then a few minutes later BAM, we're off the boat on the island and dramatic music is playing to set the mood. That's not to say the music is overbearing. There are times when things are silent and I could feel everybody in the theater just holding their breath. At times, the tension was almost unbearable. There were also several quite disturbing images that were practically horror filmish to me. This is by no means just some episode of Law and Order on a field trip. I rarely see horror films, but this movie did manage to creep me out.The movie is just a roller coaster that thankfully has an ending that lives up to the rest of the ride. It's one of the most satisfying endings I've seen in a while. This movie won't be loved by everyone, no movie will. But if the trailer intrigued you, this review peaked your interest, or you are just a fan of the genre, I highly recommend you check it out.

  8. First off how can you love someone you never met? What is the point of having a girlfriend you will never see? If you never met the person in real life you should not be dating them. It ridiculous. You can't love someone without meeting them, it's basically impossible. You can become attached to them, much like anything else that is a part of your life. But seriously thats not love at all. Its just about as bad as that guy who married a video game character on his ds lite. When I heard that I was like woooww haha. Its pretty pathetic if you ask me. Same with online relationships. I knew a guy who had a online girlfriend once that lived like have way across the world and after three months she told him that she has a boyfriend in real life the whole time and that she wanted to breakup. He was sad but I laughed sooo hard at him haha. Probably not the thing a good best friend would do but I told him when I found out that he was a moron for online dating. So yeah thats my stand on this whole concept.

  17. Thats garbage. You can jog during weight training. Jogging is a life long and very healthy sport that I would recommend doing. Its good for your heart and lungs and no matter what people tell you it is good for your knees and joints as well. If you need help getting started on a program I would be happy to help.
  18. Like said before the mayan calendar never predicted the world to end on that day. It just ended. They can't keep going forever. Its kinda pointless because they figured someone could later on continue it. The end of the world has been predicted a bunch of times and so far none of them have came true cause guess what? I'm still here. If the Mayans were so good with predictions why arent they still around? Why counldnt they prodict there own downfall and stop it? If I'm thinking correctly it was there stupid prediction that doomed them in the end. But maybe that was the Aztecs. Anyway it still doesn't make any sence for them to have been conquered if they had such great profits. Dec. 21, 2012, is the end of a 394 year cycle called a Baktun. They ended it there because it was the end of the cycle. No other reason, simple as that. Hollywood and crazy people have hyped this up beyond belief.
  19. Hey BlooDtake and welcome to Xisto forums!! Before you go any farther I would get familiar with the rules of the board and learn everything there is to know about mycents. Then register for mycents and start earning your way to free hosting. Before Xisto I was looking everywhere and this is clearly the best so be glad you found it. Enjoy your stay. I hope to see you around for a while.
  20. Congrats Alex! I'm sure you'll be a great moderator and a good part of our already great staff here at Xisto.
  21. Gosh, did you read any of this? It is completely free. All you have to do is post on this site. But read all the tagged threads about signing up for a xisto account and everything. After that if you still have questions then ask them in the appropriate thread. Thanks.
  22. I seriously hope you are kidding. The play station 3 has used blu-ray since it has been released. I just bought one about a month ago and honestly I don't see much of a difference. Maybe if it was side by side but other than that I just stick to dvds because they are a lot cheaper. For gaming on the other hand the ps3 having blu-ray is a advanage. I believe the xbox 360 is maxed out in performance while the ps3 has much more to give. The ps3 disks can just hold so much more information. So far this isn't used to its full advantage and probably won't for a while. Back when this first came out I said that this would never catch on because of the price but slowly it is starting to gain speed and may replace the dvd within the years to come.
  23. Trust me xisto and trap don't give out this information. Honestly this new credit system is sooo much better than the older version. Before all you got was a sub domain and hosting, now you can get anything xisto sells using the credits. Xisto is a trusted company and they won't give out your information so just sign up. I've been signed up since they started and I haven't been sent any junk mail or anything. It's safe just trust me. I agree. They don't give it out so its all good. I also don't see why they need it but they're giving the hosting so I guess they're the boss lol.
