      Baniboy

      finally. missed your xpressions, man

  2. No.. I don't have any US or CA address. I am a pure citizen of India Donating prize to someone else? I think I am not that much good
  3. Very good Soviet... I really appreciate your idea and your intention behind it.. Keep it up, keep growing Xisto... Unfortunately I am not eligible for your contest (or atleast, for you prizes ) as I am an Indian
  4. Well, if you want to show error message, and want to redirect the user to another page, it is possible. Just use header refresh, which will redirects the user after certain time. I am just changing truefusion's code to show you that. if (is_dir($dir_name)){ // Redirect the user to the directory header('Location: http://'. $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] .'/'. $dir_name .'/');}// This else, will display the error, and then redirects the user as specified.else{ echo "Directory Not Found"; echo "<br/>You'll be redirected in 3 seconds"; header('Refresh:3, http://'. $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] .'/');} The header refresh of php refreshes the above page in 3 seconds, so the visitor will see the error msg and will be redirected. Anyway AJAX is the best solution for his brainstorming question
  5. Definitely there is no need for a new Telengana state. I am also completely against of it. It will not do any good to Telengana. I don't agree that Telengana is completely ignored. The fact is that, government focused too much on Hyderabad, and ignored other places somehow. It doesn't mean that Telengana is completely ignored and Andhra people are putting Telengana behind. There are still many undeveloped Districts in Andrha, and Rayalaseema region. Who is behind that? The recent Telengana issue is just a play of KCR. I completely agree with you about this issue. I think he did nothing to Telengana... He wants power, so he is using people's feelings and sentiments. This issue is getting worse. I don't see any reason in banning the movies of film stars who supported Unified Andhra Pradesh. What the hell is wrong with these people? I hate this type of politics. Regionalism is a big threat to development. We had already seen this with stats like Jharkand, Chattisgarh etc... Things became worse there after the seperation. Why Telengana parties are ignoring this fact? Already they are taking Telengana backwards with this seperate State campaign. Hyderabad, the crown of Andhra Pradesh is losing its glory.. reason? These dirty politics...
  6. Thank you BH. We are 12 hours ahead of you.. Its 1.40 PM here....
  7. Very Happy New Year to you BH, and to all our fellow members, and Xisto staff. Hope this new 2010 will bring lot of happiness to all of us. Once again I Wish You all A Very Happy New Year...
  8. If you choose drupal, let me know. I can help you on administration and troubleshooting. Or any other help related to Drupal. Coming to the colors issue, my littel suggestion is choose colors somewhat creative. Mix up and play with them. Don't try to look professional, try to look creative.. because this is a GFXCrew website.. Don't go with grey, they look dull in my opinion. Mixing up colors like Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow.. will give a creative look..
  9. As per your new post I'm assuming you have added a disallow to your robots.txt file. So I'm not going to discuss it. Coming to this folder deletion problem, yes this sometimes happens with drupal. The sites folder is the most troublesome when deleting. You cannot delete that through normal File Manager and FTP clients. So, try this instead. Instead of normal File Manager, Open Legacy File Manager in your CPanel. Now delete that sites folder from this legacy file manager. And empty the trash. Everything will go smooth.. try it and tell me if it gives any problems.
  10. Looks like Xisto is going through some interesting changes. Congrats GFX guys....... put green color for that group. Green resembles creativity and nature. So the green color group relates to these creative GFX people..
  11. Hey, don't worry. How do you expect search engines will index some backup on your desktop? And even though your folders are in your public_html folder, you can block search engines to index them by adding a DISALLOW in robots.txt file.
  12. Like others said, having 2 minutes of time to edit our posts is not a good idea. 2 minutes is not enough for anything. That will increase the double posts when someone wants to add something to their posts(which is against rules). The time limit should be increased.
  13. I agree with all about new groups. Having a single Members group is meaning less. No need to tell that someone is a member by indicating them with a Members group. Having different groups like mahesh said, designers, programmers, experts etc.. will motivate people to post more for some sort of recognition. I hope OpaQue will consider this idea and will add more groups. Its interesting to belong to some particular group, and give a basic idea about that member to other fellow members.
  14. Oh, yes, being lucky is better always. But you should not depend on luck when dealing with technology.. it needs right method and perfection You can safely delete your backup folder. But having a backup is always safe when things gone wrong without your consent. So regularly backup your site. It will occupy a few MB's on your desktop. But will save you from lot of headache. That's a precaution to deal with disasters
  15. Wow.. Congratulations Nameless for your great effort. I took me lot of time to understand your post, as it is completely filled with your face (with a tongue) Even though you didn't understand what we told about backup.. still you did the same thing what we've explained. Congrats again. If you upgrade a drupal installation, it won't ask you to reinstall unless you removed your database completely. And you need to run update.php before trying to access your website directly. And you should copy your sites folder before doing so, as your settings.php file will be in your sites/all/default folder. May be you did something wrong with your friends installation. check everything once again. You don't need any luck to do this
  16. I think, I am still in HOSTED group. It is always interesting to be different. Why don't you introduce more groups?
  17. Yes.. shoutbox problem is still there.. nothing fixed. Only the change we can see is the reverse order of our shouts...
  18. Shoutbox problem is really annoying for me too... I had lost many shouts.. sometimes when I put something in the shoutbox and press ENTER.. simply nothing happens.. my shout disappears.. and after sometime everything is normal... very irritating. And another problem with shoutbox is the timezone issue.. This is also a recent problem. Need to be fixed.. I completely left shoutbox recently for that reason.
  19. Yes. That's right. Drupal will automatically detect the module placed in their modules folder. And coming to this fresh installation, if he has only little amount to content then it would be fine. But if he has large number of posts, it will be burden for him to create them again. Anyway its his choice.. so, what do you choose Nameless?
  20. As far as I know, modules don't associate with any path in the database. When we install a module, it will directly creates a new table in the database. And when we access that module, it will access its table in the database regardless of its location. So, the above tip will work, to my knowledge. Just checked with some modules in my localhost and it worked. Anyway you try it once.. And UNISTALLING a module is DANGEROUS. It will delete everything related to that module from the database. That means, for example, you have NODEWORDS installed in modules, and you have associated many pages with META Keywords, and Description. Now you decided to reinstall that module by uninstalling it. What will happen? All your Meta keywords, and description will be lost. You need to enter them manually again, which is not worth. That's why Uninstalling is only suggestible if you want to get rid of a module completely.
  21. Well, have you checked your sites/all/themes folder? If your non-core theme is there, then go to Administer - Site Building - Themes Section. Your theme will appear in that page, enable it. If you lost your theme, just copy that theme folder from your backup and paste it in sites/all/themes. If you want to move your contributed (non-core) modules to sites/all/modules folder, first disable all the modules you want to copy. Then move the modules from core modules section to your sites/all/modules folder. Now re-enable them. Follow the same procedure for themes(templates) as well. If you want to backup your database, go to Backups in your CPanel. You'll see Download a MySQL Database Backup in that page. A link will be there with your database name. Click on it to download your mysql database... you can use that to restore later, if anything messed up in your database
  22. Yes, it is one of the ways available to update drupal core. There is a UPGRADE.txt file will be available in your drupal installation folder. Read it. It is very easy. It will guide you how to upgrade drupal. Backup your sites folder (you can copy your entire folder locally using a FTP client, or you can copy that folder to another location in your hosting account). I didn't understand this fully. You tried to copy your old theme and it was gone? And if you copied your theme from the core Themes folder, you should not delete the themes folder. That is core. I will guide you with an example. For example, your theme name is myTheme. First thing you should do before copying your myTheme into sites/all/themes is Disable myTheme in themes section. Enable a core theme(like garland). And above all, put your site OFF-LINE Now, after copying myTheme into sites folder, delete your myTheme from original THEMES folder. Now re-enable your myTheme in your themes section. I think you did something wrong here.. and never delete any core drupal folder (except when upgrading your drupal). NO.. Your content is not in your sites folder. It is in your DATABASE. Sites folder will have your files like images (in sites/default/files), and your themes and modules. All your content will be safe at database. Please post if you have any other doubts, or if I confused you
  23. Copy to some safe location in your hard drive. That means, for example you have C, D, E partitions on your hard drive. Usually your Windows OS is on C drive. If your important data is on C: drive then copy that data to D: or E: (while running ubuntu live cd). Then you can safely reinstall your windows again, or ubuntu on your system (on your C drive). Your data will be safe.
  24. Jonny, already a topic is there with huge number of posts about this topic. Please check it when you post new posts. Avira Antivirus Free is one of the best free antivirus products out there. Lot of features with daily updating. And most importantly its not a resource hog. Hmm.. heard that the recent versions of Norton are very lighter on resources and also very affective. Haven't tried it, but read some reviews... I am also using NOD32..
