  1. True, i do have the same feeling but as years goes by, Blizzard expanded their work force on every game ranging from Starcraft to World of Warcraft. Every department for each game have a dedicated group of people working on the game that will able Blizzard to come out 2 games at once.As they build the franchise, they have resources that can be reused and that saved them time in rebuilding certain element may it be in character design, environment design or game mechanics. If you may not know, when Blizzard first started its game development, it have 9 canceled games in the list, including the near dead Startcraft Ghost.
  2. Tons of disadvantages on having a high MP camera in a phone. It is not recommended to treat a camera phone as a true camera as the battery life could not upkeep the usage. The purpose of a camera in a phone is for fun. Also, a true camera comes with a price where you can buy a prosumer camera with better handling and features.
  3. Steam is a digital download distribution software. Instead of going to the retail shop to buy the boxed unit, all you do is purchase through Steam and have Steam to manage your purchase and your keys. The downside is the bandwidth required to download the game AND the speed for downloading from steam is never friendly. If i am not mistaken, the preload is for pre-orders only.
  4. Honest view, COD5 is more like a mod to COD4 with some tweaks, like the grenade killcam is really fun to watch. IMHO, i prefer COD4 since that is close to real world.I like WWII games but theres too many of them around now so it became very stale than impressive.
  5. AA = America's Army. A FPS game developed by the US Army based on Unreal engine to promote the recruitment into the Army 95% accuracy based on real world weapons and functionality. Be Strong, Be Army Strong
  6. I see Blizzard is doing the right thing in planning the future direction on where will Warcraft be heading. galexcd, assuming you dont know Blizzard trend. Their initial announcement for the release date is just placeholder and 80% of the time, they will just postpone the release date if they found that the game isnt in a very good shape.
  7. The first one is called depth of field. More aperture means more depth to play around. Most DSLR have a depth of field button located on the right of the body, beside the lens ring. Pressing the button will "darken" the viewfinder and allow you to measure the DoF you wanted.Adding details to rayzoredge's long exposure paragraph. Longer shutter speed not only allow more lights to be captured to the image but also "records" more movement to it as well. The effect is call onion skin, its blurry ad transparent all together.
  8. Sad thing is Epic is putting the blame on PIRACY as they wont be releasing any PC version of GoW2. Its a stupid move on how Epic only thinks PC piracy is the cause and not thinking piracy of console games is possible too.
  9. For some reason the game couldnt agree with my workstation. I suspect that it have serious issues with 64-bit OS as most of the threads posted in the support site for the game, many have Vista 64-bit installed while mine is Windows XP 64-bit. Freezing on loading, slowdown on auto-saving.
  10. Wings3D isnt more than just a modeler application. It is more like Silo and Modo that focus on enhancing modeling tools. Wings3D is actually written with the inspiration of Mirai, a now defunct 3D package that once used in many console games development due to its flexible development pipeline and solid good modeling features.Blender is making some noises in the 3D industry. Recently with the FX house i work with, they are using Blender for pre-visualization. With new authors writing books on Blender, i would say in a few years time, Blender will find its role in the 3D/film industry.
  11. Consider alternative brands like sigma, tamron, tokina etc... They may have cheaper alternative to an upgrade to your stock lens. Also, do hunt around for mint condition second hand lens. Sometimes, a slightly dated ones perform better then your current ones.
  12. You can consider prosumer point and shoot like Canon Powershot Pro series. It is actually a ZLR (Zoom Lens Reflex) with a flexible back LCD. Here is the link for further reference : https://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controllfcategoryid=113 You can consider the Powershot SX range as well as Powershot G range. I onced handled a Powershot G9 once, i could tell you it do wonders once you get to understand its limit and its potential.
  13. With scenarios in the game, open pvp is no longer touched by players. All they matter is the keep and BOs and taking turns to capture it. As new generation players venturing into MMOs, the old school MMO gaming is no longer exist in the game. The community is only about being leet or else...
  14. Thank you for the correction. I missed that out totally as well as some other points. About the 50mm, i am a car racing and nature photographer and would like to add this point. 50mm is important too when in car racing photographer. It works for still shots on the car. I once did a silly thing is to use a 28-200mm lens for still shots of the racer and the car till another photographer shared that tip with me. Been 5 years now i am still doing the same
  15. Oh i miss out something. Larger lens have larger aperture that allows you to capture more light, balanced contrast to your image. And the result is better image like what rayzoredge said. Smaller lens have aperture that is small but sufficient for general shooting without the need of carrying a 908g lens around for a simple assignment. That is why when you peep into a professional photographer, they will have a 50mm F1.4 or F1.8 lens, a 70-300mm or 28 - 200mm lens and their large bazooka, a 400mm F2.8 or 450mm lens. The mix of the lens is different depends on their assigned task. But i am here just to give you a general idea of why those lens are big compare to the standard lens.
  16. What ISO did you set? If the light source is low, push up the step to +3 but not more than +5 as it will create a wash out. What flash source did you rely on? Build-in or external D-TTL?Bring a light gray cardboard, a portable size, name card size. Each time you couldnt get any focus on your subject, put the card close to the subject and re-focus, take away the card and snap. Works for me million times when i use point and shoot or someone's DSLR.During the night, ISO shouldnt be ISO200. Try 400 or 800. ISO1600 is the best but it will create noises in your image.
  17. Possible to change the LAN card to D-Link or other known brand? I googled around and you are not alone, many who changed to XP 64-bit faced the same problem.
  18. I own Nikon D1x and D100 with 400mm F/2.8 lens, 90mm macro lens, 28-200mm lens and 50mm f/1.8 lens. Having big lens isnt about able to talk "professional" pictures but instead is how you "tweak" it by playing around aperture, shutter speed, white balance, stops(+/-).My first lens listed on top is the biggest among all and i can use it to take crappy pics . Filters do a huge part of the role in photography. Polarizer filter filters out unwanted glare and sun flare while boosting the contrast on shadows. The camera you inspired to have is known as DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) which allows you to swap lens in different situation. 3 types of DSLRs currently in the market, Consumer level, Prosumer level, Professional level.Consumer level (eg.) : Nikon D40, D50, Canon EOS400D(Rebel for NA), Pentax K1000D..etcProsumer level (eg.) : Nikon D300, Nikon D700, Canon EOS 5..etcProfessional level or known as the flagship (eg.) : Nikon D3, Canon EOS1D MarkIII..etcThere is many other brands like Sony, Minolta, Olympus, Sigma, Leica that comes out DSLR but they tend to have different technology applied to their range so usually, buys tend to opt for the popular ones than these.Professional level DSLR is mostly for fast shooter who wants the fastest of the line and it cost a fortune if you settle on first hand products. For you, DSLR consumer level is the best to start with. Without breaking budget and have ability to be couple with some good fast lens. I can config a set for you to set an example of what you will need. Refer below :Nikon D60 (body only) + 70-300mm f/4.5(?) (G series lens) + 28.80mm f/3.8 (G series lens) . The reason i choose Nikon is because it have a range of budget lens that does the job of its upperline. You can look "professional" with the kit above and allow you to have your image capturing under your full control.
  19. I am more into Sci-Fi, Fantasy as you miss these two out from the list. Animated feature is also a genre you miss out. Sci-Fi movies with some realism works for me. Sci-Fi movies like blade runner, 5'th Element is my top favorites. Waterworld have good plot but slightly badly executed.
  20. Leica M4 or M6 is the ones your father own i guess and yes they cost a fortune. Leica cameras were mostly constructed by hand picked parts for every mechanical parts. Its lens have solid elements composed for sharp image and near zero distortion. Your explanation is clearer now. Your options now will settle on entry level DSLRs. I am pro-Nikon user and would like to advice you to settle on Canon ones. One feature that you will like most. It have auto cleaning system that would shake off dust from the shutter plane and the image sensors, so you would not worry on any artifacts that will appear after each image shot. 450D will be my primary recommendation : https://www.dpreview.com/articles/9076353662/canoneos450d . Despite its slightly bigger size than 400D, 450D claimed to be much "friendler" and easier to use menu and it comes with a whopping 12MP. The review should explain the things clearer . D60 is my secondary recommendation : https://www.dpreview.com/articles/2254675395/nikond60 . 2 MP lesser than 450D and come with a much straight forward Menu navigation. The specification list should content you. Do ask if you come across any unknown tech jargon
  21. IF your budget is below USD1000 according to your country's price, i did say opt for point and shoot for its price vs. advantages. If you want to get the extra edge, entry level DSLR is what you should consider as well. I am not sure how expensive it is for a entry level DSLR kit but you can try to seek out these :-Nikon D40 kit (body + zoom lens)-Canon EOS400D (Body + zoom lens)-Pentax K1000D (Body + zoom lens)Do not bother brands like Sony Alpha as it have seriously unfriendly Menu and button positions. For Point and Shoot, the choices is alot. Before poking around for info, do settle down with a list of features you want. For instance :I want to have a camera that is compact and slim, approx. 5 Mega Pixel, have good build-in flash options and allows me to do continuous shots and have low start-up time. From there, start to shrink, change, expand the feature list and soon you will get the list of camera you want under your budget. Also you should take not of its battery life capacity, sometimes a solid featured packed camera tends to dry up a battery pretty quick than others so do that note on that.
  22. Its perfect in color selection and style but to be frank, Slug seems to be off the chart when it comes to "theme" It must be the pose that you gave it that cause the imbalance in the finishing. Just my early thoughts concluded from a quick glance from deviantart.
  23. My game arrived. Installed and dive into it. Since Facr Cry 2 is acting weird under Windows XP x64 but Dead Space runs really smooth after first installation. The game so far is INDEED horrifying as thing pop out from anywhere and almost every corner will give you goosebumps.Excellent ambient sound and environment. Truly an inspiring masterpiece.
  24. I rely most of my backup on portable HDD. Have 2 500GB FW800 portable for Macs while 6 500GB for PC. 4 of them for data, raw video footage and 2 of them for scratch disk and media cache. If you willing to spent more, you can buy external HDD rack that allows you to hot swap your HDD and comes with an external USB port too which make things more organized
  25. It is not a scam. First in the to-do list, always read the fine print on the bottom. That is what you need to really see instead of the attractive get-this-*insert an Apple product*-free! If you do not read everything shown on the site, that is you cheating yourself for "believing" such advertising.
