  1. I surely disagree on that. I still see Corel advertisement, only in digital art related magazines like FX Artist, Computer Arts, Digital Arts, Web Design and rarely appears in photography magazines. This is still based on the company itself, Adobe is huge, 65% of its application used in everyday task while 97% usage of their Adobe Acrobat that explains their need of exposure to everyone. Corel understands that not everyone is into arts so they specified their advertisements to appear only in some magazines that serve that specific purpose. Thus, limited their general exposure to new comers. If you ask a hobbyist, what program did they used to make their forum signatures, many will say Photoshop instead of CorelDraw.
  2. G-Force isnt a bad movie. The trailer really gave my girlfriend a good giggle and been talking about it since. True, IMDB is the best source for reviews and rating. Viewers review isnt bias
  3. Lightning moves. So you need a fast lens, F/2.8 for the quick capture. Usually a lightning will stay about 1 second before it goes "poof". Timing do count and its pretty vital too.Just like photographing fireworks, fast lens captures light faster than normal lens so that is where the advantage if you want crisp solid pretty shots
  4. Have a tripod to mount the digital camera on to see if it still produce the blurry results? One reason is due to long shutter speed that was caused by small aperture of the build-in lens.Try reset your camera to default settings and see if it fix the problem.
  5. IMO, i prefer HTC smartphones than Apple iPhone 3GS. For one is their limitation to the software to be run in the phone and another thing is being "Apple".The new 3GS may be appealing but such thing can be done with phones that is out a year ago. Apple may snatch the crown of smartphones but Google Android may catch up with it anything soon, bring the in a strong contender against Apple iPhone from any smartphone maker.
  6. Shutter is slow due to the aperture. The smaller the number, the slower the shutter it will be. The bigger the faster your shutter. Close up shots is all based on your light source too. Since the lens that come with it is for general use, so that is the trade off. Its all about timing and scene condition. Play around with the camera, give yourself a few weeks to sort things out and learn  Love the gorillapod? I have just got mine 2 days ago, hanged my 1.8kg DSLR upside down from a tree brunch while doing a commissioned photography. Wicked fun i had on that day Welcome to the world of depth of field, a great way to focus your subject with blurring out the background / foreground. Do post up some photos you have taken with the camera, would love to see how vibrant is the color produced by the G1. I am still waiting for a demo unit to reach my hands for play.
  7. Simply said, most MMOs tend to force you to put in alot of effort to make things work. WoW for one needs you to be in raids so frequent to get something done, involving guild size effort which usually takes 2 ~ 4 hours to finish. Many said WoW is a casual friendly MMO, i would highly disagree. No matter how much they make changes on the leveling progress, still the end game is slapped with endless raids and non-casual challenge.
  8. Not much of purpose except to protect your lens from harmful substance like sea water, rain, dust getting into your lens. The image size is all varied. You can set the size you want freely. Since the price of memory cards is dropping, i would go for SDHC 4GB for a start. Unless you are taking super high resolution in RAW format, then we are talking about 32GB hi-speed. Since all standard pictures will be save under jpeg format so size isnt a threat. 2GB ~ 4GB is sufficient but as i suggested above, 4GB is the best to go. https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicdmcg1/2 the Panasonic Limux G1 is a good starter DSLR but only limitation you will face currently is the available of its type of lenses. 4/3 is a CCD format and Panasonic ones is call Micro 4/3 where is opposed to 4/3 standards by Olympus.
  9. no problem mate https://mobile.twitter.com/i/nojs_router?path=%2Fwilw%2F
  10. Ok lets go step by step. I forgot to mention that you can get your lens in the second section of the camera shop. I cant remember the name of this shop in UK have a full range of second hand lens, good ones of cause. Its only the body of the camera that you need to buy it first hand so you can know how many clicks your camera can survive. I would suggest this for a start : https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond5000/2 , the new D5000 kit with 18-55 VR lens nett-ing you @ Ł 799 suggested price and you might get it cheaper. The next step is you get the filters, UV and polarizer. Once you have enough saving again, hunt around a telephoto lens, 70-300 f/3.5~5.6 is the cheapest in the range and if you are considering buying D5000, it works fine too except that D5000 is limited to new lens range due to the lack of auto-focus motor in the body where it relies on the lens motor for auto focus. So any older auto focus or manual focus lens will not work fine in D5000. Yes, body only means the camera body, charger, software for PC control capturing. You should look for kits deal, its cheaper in that way as you saved yourself from the first lens purchase. Remember this, sometimes too cheap is too good to be true. The difference is huge actually. Partly is it have interchangeable lenses nut the truth lies on the vast accessories that the body could have, some have the ability to slot in a vertical grip, doing portrait shots at ease and even allow you to slot in extra batteries to extend your shooting session. Another noticeable difference is the total control on your shooting. From depth of field to flash positioning and lens effects (filters, zoom-in effect..etc). But all this comes with a huge price tag. Also DSLR have the capability to support super fast memory card up to 16GB (all depends on model)
  11. My real name is Leo, Leo Nerd
  12. What Knight Online have is the faction vs faction battle that is epic and action packed. I played that for 2 years before the US publisher for the game ruined everything. It was top notch during those years and slacken alot recently due to being overshadowed by other much potential games.
  13. I got the news from BBC.co.uk and watched the live coverage of Micheal Jackson, the interviews and everything else, including a brief tribute to him.
  14. I can help you on your options  Doing outdoor photography, just like what i do. First of all, i am going to talk about lens since its something you will be using the rest of your hobby. First make sure you get your hands on a 50mm lens. The cheapest one is 50mm f/1.8 . If you have the budget, you can go for a better one, 50mm f/1.4. The high the aperture, the more light you capture and have the ability to freeze object beautifully. Why is this important? Its called the general lens or called the portrait lens. Its handy i can assure you Example : https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikon-50-1p4g-n15 Nikon 50mm f/1.4 Next lens you need in your inventory is a telephoto zoom, 70-300mm f/3.5 ~ f/5.6. This standard zoom is tripod friendly and its good for stationary subject capturing. If you think of capturing fast moving subjects like birds, hoping antelope, you need wider aperture for faster light capturing to free the moving subject, for example 70-200mm f/4 lens. Its expensive for hobby investment due to the fix aperture. No matter you capture from 70mm or 200mm the aperture stays at f/4, giving more light into your capturing. Example : nil Wide angle is something you might want to consider too. 28mm fixed is suffice. If you want to have more zoom choice, seek out the 14mm ~ 45mm wide zoom lens. It will still do the job perfectly. I cant comment this further since i am more into telephoto / macro outdoor shooting. Example : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5~4.5 Camera body. Depends how much durability you are seeking. In my mind i would recommend you the Nikon D90 kit that comes with 14 ~ 45mm VR lens. Its the best option to date for outdoor shooting in the Nikon range due to its pricing .vs features. Dont worry on the megapixels as its huge in this Nikon D90, 12.9MP Review : https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond90/ You can do comparison within the price range of D90 with Canon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax etc... Stabilization, get a tripod. Its bulky, yes but even if your lens have a build in feature like Nikon's VR (Vibration Reduction) it only do 40% of the job to reduce hand shake where it most cases you will have to rely on tripod for a more firm stability. I would recommend you this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ , that is a Joby Gorrilapod, with joints that form up the tripod legs for total flexibility. It allow you to put up the tripod even on the uneven surface or anywhere you can imagine. You can consider tripod brands like Benzo, Monfrotto, Gitzo for the height and firm support. I am currently using a Monfrotto one, almost 6 years now and still serving me Oh jlhaslip did mention about filter the most important filter to get is the polarizer filter and the UV filter. UV filter serves not much purpose but to protect your lens from harmful objects. Polarizer filter filters light reflections, flares, rays from mirror or glossy surface as well as in improving contrast of your photo. Thats all for now, brain dead for a moment shoot questions if any
  15. Source : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Seems like the price is the same as Vista. Despite the horrible launch of Vista and its poor end-use, Windows 7 worth more than the price tag given. Another good thing is no further increment on the price I would get my hands on the OEM license than buying the boxed version. Windows 7 Professional is good enough for me.
  16. So this is more like a gold selling site advertising than a true game introduction. Knight Online is a very fun game sadly its ruined by the publishers.
  17. Sims 3 is the best Sims game ever made to date. They finally added some realism flavor to the gameplay. I dont think they will go much more in the multiplayer side of Sims due to the failure of The Sims Online. The Sims Store seems to be the new way to expand content for Sims 3 rather on how they did in Sim 2, pushing expansion and made it bloated in the end.
  18. 55c on Geforce 6200 is very normal. Compared against my old ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for Mac, it idles at 53c and 67c in full load. One possible way to lower the temperature by a degree or 2 is to clean off the dust that clog by the HSF of the graphic card and the overall chassis for improved airflow.Another way is to have a proper push pull airflow in your casing. So those heat wont trap around the lower area of your computer casing that would brings up the temperature.
  19. Corel Draw is more like an all-in-one solution for raster and vector while Photoshop solely handles all raster and have limited support on vector. Both is still professional choices but the only advantage on what Adobe have over Corel is their voice of marketing. I have seen design firms that uses both and you cant tell which finishing uses which application to accomplish.I cant vote since i prefer both.
  20. Microsoft may have badly done in their IE8 marketing but IE8 IMO is so far a better version despite all the "convenient" features which i find it not useful to useless. But its standard compatibility improved alot which its something i like the most.
  21. I still stick with Fedora. Ubuntu is appealing but couldnt get most of my 3d and digital compositing software to work smoothly. Fedora have better support in most of the software i used. Starting using it since Redhat 8 and later switched to FC 2 and now downloading FC10.
  22. Assuming that your not fast internet connection means you are still using dial up. I started playing WoW with 512kbps connection and later upgraded to 20mbps. There is a 10 days trial for WoW that you can give it a shot. DOTA will surely get into Warcraft 4 since DOTA made a new standard to RTS games which allow other developers to come out games like Battleforge, Demigod.. etc
  23. I stumbled on a wikipedia article and later recalled a forum topic in here which i once wanted to address. But due to lack of proof i didnt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayurveda is what everyone should read before concluding what the original poster claimed. Its a traditional life science from India and with all due respect, contactskn, not everyone in here practice Ayurveda. Yes, your article is legit but does not apply to everyone in the forum. I am grateful that you share it but your explanation confuse everyone else who knows nothing about Ayurveda.
