  1. I saw this one video where it kind of explains why this is. Take a photocopy of a picture for example. The original picture of course has the best quality, no artifacts, etc. Now when you make a photocopy of that, the picture isn't going to have the same 100% quality as the first. Of course the quality is going to degrade a bit. Now make a photocopy of that first photocopy - the picture gets worse. I think cells work in the same way. When we're young - are cells are at their prime. As we get older, they don't work the same as they used to.
  2. I'm not exactly running Linux but since I'm running my own server running on Linux, I guess I can say I've got a little feel for it. Also, I've played around with Ubuntu but that's pretty much it. I wanted to try it because I really wanted to expand my knowledge of different operating systems and to try different things other than Windows. Also, the fact that there are many customizations/distributions available is interesting too. Oh yeah...it's free. Well at least most are.
  3. I think they're useful to some but I agree that it teaches the person who's making the site absolutely nothing. They're alright if you're making like a quick site to show your family all your pictures or whatever but if you want to make more serious sites, then you definitely want to learn HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, etc. on your own. I'm trying to learn myself because I want to make my sites cleaner and more custom.
  4. 1. Ignorance - people fail to realize things that should be noticed2. Disrespect - some put pride before respect3. Criminals - I don't know exactly what criminals' motives are but it makes me mad hearing of someone who commits a crime and gets away with it.
  5. I experienced the earthquake and I don't ever remember experiencing a quake before so this was a first for me. I was still in bed when it happened - I stayed up really late the night before - and the quake actually woke me up. The most that happened from what I saw in my room was my deodorant falling off my dresser but that's it. Still it was pretty unexpected and as Echo of thunder said - Wake up call.
  6. I don't personally own an iPhone but I would suggest you stick with the iPhone you already have. If you feel you need the extra hardware upgrade and need the faster 3G speed, then get the new 3G. As galexcd said, you can get many great apps from the appstore when you update your iPhone to the new firmware update. Just hold off on buying a 3G unless you need it or just want the latest.
  7. This probably doesn't help you but I didn't know they had Skateboarding MMORPGs. I'm not really into skating but it sounds like fun though.
  8. Nice tutorial. Although I don't have Photoshop, the guide looks easy and pretty good results. It gives you a basic idea of what to do but allows you to make your own personal creations. Nice.
  9. They also have content management systems. One popular one I've heard about is Joomla. Content management systems organize your content for you and you can usually find many different templates online.
  10. I think it tells you how many Guests are online.
  11. I've heard of Imagefilez before but I've never used it. The only photo sharing/hosting I've used are flickr and photobucket and there's one more I can't think of right now.
  12. Cool, I sent my name to the moon! So, what do they mean by sending your name to the moon? Is it like they write it on the moon (highly unlikely) or like bring a piece of paper up there or something? Edit: OK. I found out what they do exactly with the names. I found out by checking out the site about LRO
  13. That sounds pretty interesting having a wolf as a pet. I'd be interested to know more about what it's like living with one. Sorry I don't know much about raising wolves but could you tell us how it's been so far?
  14. I found this pretty useful. I've been looking for a good forum software for my site and I've always considered Phpbb3 but never tried it. I think this post persuaded me to try it out. Right now, I'm using AEF by Electron Inc. but I think I'll give Phpbb3 a try. I've been aware of IPB and vBulletin but I didn't want to pay to use forum software so this looks like a good alternative.
  15. I own a PS2. Honestly, I haven't touched it in like a couple months, seriously. I'm not really into console games anymore - I'm more into MMORPGs, and I don't know how my interest changed. If I were to get a new console, it'd probably have to be and Xbox 360 just because I've heard a lot of good things about it.
  16. Hm. Another console war between the main gamer next-gen consoles. I don't own either a PS3 or Xbox 360 but if I were to choose one over the other, I'd have to choose the Xbox. In my opinion, Microsoft seems like they're trying harder to put out a great product, with its Xbox Live service and having great exclusive game titles. I've never seen any PS3 advertisements that really make me think 'Wow, I need to get that'. Also, I've heard of some great reviews about the Xbox so I'd probably go with the Xbox.
  17. The Ironman trailer was amazing. I wouldn't say that it was better than the movie - the movie was AMAZING - but it definitely created a lot of hype for the movie before the movie even came out. Also, the Dark Knight Trailers look amazing also but I guess we have to wait for its release to see

    Ps2 Or Ps3

I have a PS2 right now at home but if I had to choose between PS2 or PS3, I'd definitely have to choose PS3. You may think that PS2 has great games and graphics already but when you play the PS3, you'll definitely notice a difference in both aspects. I guess it all depends on how much of a hardcore gamer you are. If you absolutely loves games and need the latest, then get a PS3. If it's for casual gaming and great graphics isn't important to you, then just stick with your PS2. Since PS3 is "fairly" new, many of the games available on the PS3 will be available on the PS2 so there's not much to worry about games for the time being.
  19. I've used WAMP and it fitted my needs. I've also heard that XAMPP is good too so try it out, although I've never tried it. I've definitely learned a lot about PHP and MySQL and such while running my own server so keep learning and soaking up knowledge. Just start reading some guides/tutorials on how to do certain things and you'll find it easier and easier to do yourself.
  20. That was a really great suggestion!I don't mean to flame or anything but how do you know they're a nice host? You're not even hosted and you only have two posts. I'm not implying that Xisto is a bad host, I'm just wondering if you are implying they are a great host. Well on a brighter note, welcome to Xisto. You'll definitely enjoy the community here so keep posting.
  21. phpMyAdmin was working fine yesterday night. Now all of a sudden, it stopped working again. What's going on? It takes forever to get a reply from Xisto/Xisto - Support.
  22. I agree with mrdee. Lately Xisto has been having some issues. I'm alright with that because I know that all sites go through problems. The problem I have is the support. It takes so long just to get a response from support.Even in Live Support, it takes forever for the other person to figure out the problem. For some reason, when you submit a ticket as 'Emergency' you don't even get a responsewithin a day - at least in my case.
  23. The last book I read was 'The Odyssey' by Homer. I had to read for my high school English class. At first, I didn't get anything. Seriously, I was clueless throughout the entire book, but toward the end, I started to understand it - I knew I had to understand it to do good on my Final. It was a really good book. I really learned some stuff about 'Human Nature' from the book and how people's actions compare to people even long ago.
  24. PHPMyAdmin Problem Warning: session_write_close() [function.session-write-close]: SQLite: session write query failed: database is full in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php on line 42Warning: session_write_close() [function.session-write-close]: Failed to write session data (sqlite). I have no idea where this file is so I can't troubleshoot the problem. It might have to do with the database crash but I'm not completely sure about that. Thanks for any help.
