Hosting Accounts In Read-only Mode
BuffaloHelp replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Web Hosting Support
My apology for making a rare double posting by me. I wanted to show the time stamp.Looks like Gamma server is all well. Checking the server status (top forum menu, Xisto > Server Status) it's all green down the board.Although hosting accounts are now accessible, please use every caution when uploading within next few hours. Hosting approvals will resume once I have the confirmation from OpaQue.Thank you everyone. -
Your hosting account is currently in READ-ONLY mode while OpaQue has chance to maintain the server. I'd like to ask for your patience during this time.Since the server is in read-only mode, your hosting account may behave radically. But rest assure that OpaQue is working on this to resolve the issue as soon as he can.During this time all application approval will be on halt but will continue to review the application. And once the server is ready to go, all approvals will resume as normal.Thank you.

It must be my browser--I refreshed twice but could not see Turefusion's entry. Anyway, I was going to vote for Psvertjuh but the render just scared da heck out of me. Perhaps it's because the movie Leprechaun got into my head I have never seen Migue2k7's render before. And I found that quite liking to my taste :-). Migue2k7 gets my vote. Good job everyone!

Looking at your account, is it possible that your first (original domain name) is also added as add-on domain and that might be causing the problem? When you add-on a domain, it creates another subfolder. So to update files to this website you must update the 'subfolder' that was created and NOT under public_html folder. The correct solution is for you to remove your first add-on domain from the add-on list since this first domain is registered with your hosting account. If for some particular reason you want to keep the domain name structure as is, then simply update files under this 'subfolder' and place a redirect index page under your public_html to 'subfolder' (although I highly recommend you do not do this).

Replacing Return Carriage With Space Carriage
BuffaloHelp replied to paulmason411's topic in Software
I have not tried this method before... but using MS Word (not Notepad or Wordpad) change your document view to "show format" (it's one of 3 little icons on the bottom left corner). You should be able to see ? sign every time a new line (return character) is shown. Do FIND AND REPLACE feature, Ctrl-H I think, and replace ? with a simple space. I think that should do it.Let us know how it goes. -
You may use/divide your hosting to do whatever you wish to do--as long as all your contents are well within Xisto free web hosting AUP.

There are three phases in thermodynamics: solid, liquid and gas. These stages are basically related to the boiling/melting point of an element. Let's say to turn H2O to gas form, it will require so much energy going from liquid to gas. And to go from solid (ice) to gas (steam), it will need to "move" to the liquid form (requires loss of energy) before becoming the gas form. So, to make CO2 from gas to solid, it would still require to go through the liquid phase. But if you start with liquid CO2 it will take shorter time to "move" to solid phase. That's all it is--to save time and energy, in a nutshell. The marketing strategy of transporting CO2 as liquid form is basically the cost saving. As per volume, liquid form can store more molecules (more volume) than in gas form.

You've misunderstood my suggestion. CuteNews requires SKIN to update the look. You can get ideas of certain skin look by visiting the URL I mentioned. If you're looking for some concrete support on web script of your choice, why not try the official support page? http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ They seem to have their own skin section and forum areas to help you much better than here. Even the demo page is available http://english.cutenews.ru/cuteru/example/ And lastly, the reason for using CuteNews is that it is flat file supported CMS. But if you were looking for SQL based CMS why not just use WordPress--since you're having a hard time finding the skin that you like. WordPress is the mostly widely used CMS scritps and there are over thousands of different skins to meet your customization.

Trap17 Graphics Forum Skin
BuffaloHelp replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Skin for GFX section will be on hold until another forum upgrade is complete. In the mean time keep those suggestions coming. I finally have the full go ahead from the head master :PBy the way, don't limit yourself of what IS and ISN'T a particular GFX look. If it's something you guys want simply suggest with your best reasoning. There's is no set color theme that says, 'ah now THIS is a true graphics scheme.' -
The advantage of CuteNews was that it was designed to be integrated to ANY website with just few lines of code. So you can use any pre-designed webpage and insert your CuteNews feed. You can download free templates from http://www.oswd.org/ On the other side, CuteNews was unique and useful BECAUSE it was never dependent on SQL--a flat file storing system. If you needed SQL why not just use WordPress?

Password Problems Please Help I cant access my CP
BuffaloHelp replied to greenyb118's topic in Web Hosting Support
That option was already checked before I made the reply Hosting credits are good and they are not under suspended mode. Otherwise I would not have said, "I can see your default index page." I have lists of trouble shooting steps. But thanks for reminding it for others -
The disadvantage of reverse engineering is that this code needs to be first understood before it can be customized. And I, not knowing any javascript, took a bit longer to figure out what makes this thing tick. By editing following lines with my modification, you can have the same pull-down option to appear whenever you are FAST REPLY or REPLY mode. Edit to: 1) First line textarea = document.getElementsByName('Post')[0] 2) Find function warn_add_reason(reason) document.getElementsByName('Post')[0].value = unescape(reason) 3) Find function warn_add_rules() document.getElementsByName('Post')[0].value += "\n[url=\""+domain+"/?act=boardrules\"]Read the rules[/url]" All I did was replace 'reason' textarea name to 'Post' name tag. I initially used @include as a wild card to test it out without prejudice. But the better @include would be @include http://forums.xisto.com/ Since IP.Board sets <textarea name="Post"... having a wider include will work to an advantage. I also believe that having different scripts with prescripted reasons are better than having one script with all possible reasons. One behavior I noticed is that the pull-down menu will override anything in the <textarea>. "append rules link" will append but as soon as you select another pull-down option, it will be cleared and inserted with the new selection. This is something to be considered when trying to use this while edting a post (it will clear the original post and replace it with your message). The javascript "append rules link" method should be used in this case. The next agenda would be to modify the script and insertion to automatically fill in PM subject and PM message with the same pull-down option during the warn issuing stage. **DONE** Find function warn_add_reason(reason) and change to function warn_add_reason(reason){ document.getElementsByName('reason')[0].value = unescape(reason) // add to PM box according to reasons document.getElementsByName('subject')[0].value = "Warning level adjusted" document.getElementsByName('contact')[0].value = unescape(reason)} Find function warn_add_rules() and change to function warn_add_rules(){ domain = location.href.substr(0,location.href.substring(8,location.href.length).indexOf("/")+8) //get the domain name document.getElementsByName('reason')[0].value += "\n[url=\""+domain+"/?act=boardrules\"]Read the rules[/url]" // add to PM box when clicked document.getElementsByName('contact')%5B0%5D.value += "\n[url=\""+domain+"/?act=boardrules\"]Read the rules[/url]"} These changes will allow warning reason, PM subject and PM message areas to be filled in simultaneously All done and have fun! Next agenda is to see if it's possible if this plug can only be used by approved moderators (or any other Greasemonkey user scripts--since anyone with Firefox can use this mod, especially if we develop one for post edit message plug-ins)

Password Problems Please Help I cant access my CP
BuffaloHelp replied to greenyb118's topic in Web Hosting Support
Which way(s) have you tried?ip_address/cpanel?gamma{dot}xisto{dot}com/cpanel?or your-domain-name.com/cpanel?I can see that you still have your default index page. Since I don't have your login and password I cannot test it further. But your domain and cpanel access is working fine. Question: do you see a security alert pop-up page right after you enter your-domain-name.uk/cpanel? If so do you click on YES on the security alert message? If you're not, you cannot access your cPanel. -
Oh fantastic!!I thought I would be asking too much of your time That's some good news!I came back to share that using Firefox and Greasemonkey extension I think I might have found a workaround solution but modified NOTICE tag itself will do perfectly! Thanks MC!!PS, upon looking at the cookies I only find member_id which only shows my Member Number 10,610. Somehow I believe you know how to associate this information with my forum name?

Greasemonkey is popular for Firefox users in making any webpage to give that a little personal touch. I found Greasemonkey extension for IPB for moderating WARN feature. You can have lists of commonly used warning messages and have it as pull-down menu style when issuing a warning. Very cool! The simple thing about this extension is how easy to modify to fit your needs. This extension, called IPB Moderator Reasonator ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ), shows only when you are at the warning page. Installation is very simple. After the installation open Manage User Scripts and edit the URL to your own IPB forum board (currently installed for Xisto on my Firefox). It is simply amazing. The source code is listed here just in case the site does not show // ==UserScript==// @name IPB moderator reasonator// @namespace http://mywebsite.com/myscripts// @description Provides a select box with common reasons to warn people on the IPB warning page// @include http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ==/UserScript==textarea = document.getElementsByName('reason')[0]parent = textarea.parentNodebr = document.createElement('br')//The drop down menuselect = document.createElement('select')select.setAttribute('onchange','warn_add_reason(this.value)')//Now lets create the "append rules link" buttonbutton = document.createElement('input')button.type = "button"button.value = "append rules link"button.setAttribute('onclick','warn_add_rules()')//Add the reasonsreasons = new Array()reasons[0] = new Array("Select a reason","Select a reason") //Do not changereasons[1] = new Array("Multiple consecutive posts","You have created several consecutive posts in one thread. I do not claim that I understand IP.B bbcodes and how it works (besides the things that I add them as JAVA SCRIPT under custom bbcode). But after looking at YOU bbcode tag at Invisionize I came to understand that it requires some serious PHP and database to make NOTE=USERNAME to be filled in automatically. Somehow it looks for {$author['id']} and the session ID, doubled checked with post number and database entry to make RenderRow to show all other information: such as Username, Group, Posts, Joined, From...etcThis, I believe, means the NOTE tag must be synched with who is making the edit, the permission mask of this member, which post and reference with the forum's database. At this time I am not willing to venture into this area I just thought that custom bbcode will let me use IPB's PHP variables but I guess not, i.e. NOTE={$author['id']} so to speak.

I was searching on the net to add forum member name to a custom bbcode and where does it lead me? Right here! ;)So, were you successful in inserting forum member name to your custom bbcode automatically? Is it ever possible using custom bbcode or does it need to be added as a module (like the ones from Invisionize YOU bbcode)? I'm assuming a simple HTML bbcode cannot interface with IP.Board's PHP array vars...Anyone has an idea how to approach this, please let it be known :-)
