  1. It certainly is.I actually like the community here, though I hope more programmers and things will end up here also (especially in some of my main development interests), and it can be annoying if you don't have a way to contribute on anything current or things are going a bit slow. But sometimes I have questions I am unsure of where they could be answered, I just remember that Xisto is always here, I can benefit from the points, hopefully contribute here and at the same time have my answers questioned or at least perhaps get a better understanding of my predicament.I'm not sure if it is just me, but things seem so slow lately, it might be because I usually only check out topics listed on the main page per my usual catergories, rather than go right into them, maybe I should start doing that, or I might miss things again lol.
  2. Darn if I only I had the modified version of my site up lol .
  3. After the initial message they sent me, they just bombed me, I didn't send any back except for one to say STOP (which was after I had been reduced to 90c credit left).
  4. Tell me about it, it's rubbish. My misses got me to sign up to one and try it to mess around for fun, what a dumb thing to do.They spammed my mobile with messages AND IT CHARGED ME!!!!!!!!!! FOR SENDING ME MESSAGES AND TOOK ALL MY FRIGGIN CREDIT ($15+), how the hell can they do that legally or at all?I have no idea, but just armed with my mobile number and nothing more they can sap all my credit in seconds :S.
  5. Wow...... that many?I would really like to know though, "exactly" how do they make use of the GPU?I imagine they get it to perform calculations just like a CPU, but how do they directly access it in such a way, and manage it properly so that you get the speed boost. I mean the power of a GPU is nothing compared to a CPU generally, how can it boost so much? This is assuming one decent CPU VS an equally decent GPU.
  6. Oh no, nothing like that.Something Web 2.0'ish, like my website I suppose, I'm not looking for 3D or gloss, just something flat, simple and nice.Just need to think of a good layout option for it and how to lay out all the information and format text etc.
  7. Interesting lol, this is what I got:Paranoid: High click for infoSchizoid: High click for infoSchizotypal: Low click for infoAntisocial: Low click for infoBorderline: Low click for infoHistrionic: Low click for infoNarcissistic: Moderate click for infoAvoidant: Low click for infoDependent: Low click for infoObsessive-Compulsive: Moderate click for infoNot really true I would say here and there, but it is only a yes/no little answer sheet so I can't expect a perfect analysis lol.
  8. Maybe the OP means Postgre SQL or what ever it is in the cPanel.I can't even remember the exact name but it is something like that (I think it has some elephant/mammoth icon or some such).
  9. Little off topic, but is 2007 any good?Is it ok for XP Home SP2?I am running 2003, and been looking for some nice resume templates and things, but given up, the only half arsed decent ones I can find on Microsoft site are for 2007 only .
  10. I have never liked the whole News Letter idea, I mostly find them annoying and useless (I don't know a single person that even pays attention to them), unless they have some extremely relevant and useful information.I like all the other ideas though, I have had a robots.txt file and been using Google Maps for quite a long time now, and also search engine submission (including direct to Google, among some free submitters lying about from time to time). I also like how you can remove unwanted links from Google (you'll see in Google Maps they occasionaly keep up links that are non-existant or no good) so anything unwanted can be asked to be removed.I also try to have my site (just a basic text link at this point) in all my forum signatures (I have also included my newer domain that points to here in it too ).Overall it's very good advice, I can't really think of anything else aside from if you expect a lot of traffic to a site, make it dedicated to something people want to see or use.
  11. So ASP is a no, no, or it just won't be technically supported in it's intended fashion? And I didn't even know phpBB 3 was out and about, let alone so far, but I did stop using forum software like that a while back and decided to start building my own.I might have to check it out and see how the project is doing.
  12. I don't mind ad placement, especially when your getting a free deal. However I really hate forced advertisements on hosting websites, I think it should be left to the hosted to place them manually, appropriately so they won't interfere with content in a way that is not desirable by most.
  13. Hello,I couldn't find too well an appropriate topic, and although my query exceeds "design", the main purpose is to ask about that I suppose.Anyway, right now I have this boring old Microsoft Office Word resume (using their craptastic resume wizard thingo). It is fine I suppose, but it is so plain and boring and I actually find it difficult to personally read (I really don't know why employer's would prefer it over something more done up as long as it is easy to read the necessary information). It doesn't look like I can do too much with Microsoft Office Word, and I have Photoshop lying around here and thought maybe I can make something nice with it, but I am unsure of where to start.I have created a new document that is 210X297mm which I think is A4 size more or less (for printing and display). What I want to know is, does anyone have any tips for graphical and textual layout, should I stick to plain black text or will it hurt to add some colour or difference to highlighted words like headings and such. This is of course all assuming I will not be handing in resumes to large companies that use those machines to scan and read resumes automatically. If anyone happens to have any examples of this, it would be greatly appreciated (I can't find anything Google wise, practically nothing but I might just not have the right keywords).Oh and I will also retain an up to date plain document version of the resume, just in case a fancier designed one doesn't bode so well.
  14. Haha that's a pretty sweet feature, especially when I just happen to have an SD card lying around lmao.I really don't like how quickly the batteries lose power in the Wii motes and nun chuck controller, though I don't exactly use top brands or anything.Oh and anyone would be absolutely awesome if knew a way of turning the volume down on the darn wii mote (no matter what options I try to config in Wii or TV I can't find anyway to turn the actual wii mote sounds down, as they can be bloody loud at night or early in the morning).
  15. I don't know if I have asked about this before, I hope not lol.Anyway I need something to connect the Wii to the net. I don't have anything wireless PC or Modem wise so I can't really go that route, nor do I have much money at all (so I can't fork out for PC wireless gear etc).I have heard about a special adapter for connecting through Ethernet, but I couldn't find anywhere around here in Sydney that stocks them yet.My modem/router also has USB connection but it doesn't work the Wii that I am aware of (I think it would need special drivers on the Wii anyway, it does for PC).Is there any other options that might not be so expensive? One of those USB wireless things (bluetooth is it), are they pricey?
  16. Do you mean in the Wii?I know the Wii can manipulate and mess around with some photo and video content. But can I actually save game data and things on it?, cause that would be pretty useful, or even if I can just back some stuff up maybe.I can imagine it's possible to store most anything on it, just depends what exactly the Wii supports with it, I'll have to check the darn manual if I can find it lol. Also I need another piece of hardware (specifically for the Wii, maybe), but I'll make a new thread for that.
  17. Same here, no cash at this point for paid hosting, would if I could definitely.I like the hosting here as is, if it were for paid hosting, the only thing I could probably want is more bandwidth if it was to be something intended for greater visiting than at this stage.LayeredPanel huh? never heard of that, one of those free alternatives is it?What kind of PHP functions are disabled (any that are used commonly?).
  18. Yeah I always build my own setups lol.But as far as add-ons go, well I never have really bought any things like that before (well never needed them). But the SD card ain't much good for the Nintendo Wii, if I can't get anything onto it from somewhere lol.Oh and my phone won't take it, my phone takes MicroSD cards it looks like.
  19. Could have sworn I already posted in this topic.......(guess not).Anyway, I sit in a fake leather lounge (some space away from the monitor), I can't say it's the best for my joints and such but it is veryyyyy comfortable in comparison to a normal desk chair.Although it would be nice if I had both, as sometimes it feels better on a normal desk chair/computer chair, better for my back and what not.
  20. I got one ages ago for this cheap video camera thing that doesn't even work too well.So I thought I might use it with my Nintendo Wii (like messin with photo's and things), would be nice if it was compatible with my Nokia 6085 also (well I'm not sure yet if it is).Anyway, what sort of hardware add-on would I need to get and put files to and from this SD card from my PC?Now I wonder if I can get it to work with my phone...... lol.
  21. You could also get a much nicer looking effect if you did it with Flash (and it isn't too difficult to do this way either).I have actually come across some really great ones over the years, but I can't even remember tid bits of them .I hope someone has some more to add, hopefully one I remember too!
  22. Yeah, 8TT.org...... I know a lot of good domains are taken, but come on a little more thought at least (what does it stand for anyway? anything?).Also the forums do not work (I get a critical error on a blank white page).I kind of like the design of the home page though, I think it needs some work, but I like it quite a bit actually.
  23. Hi, can anyone explain cron jobs in more detail?I like the idea of being able to time something daily/hourly etc, but what commands and things can be used, or more importantly what kind of things could you expect to be able to do with it?Like update a database, or run a php file that runs a query or something like that?
  24. I just tried Parking the domain a few minutes ago and it was successful, but it still doesn't lead anywhere. It just goes to the domain registrars default page for the domain (should it not point to my actual site now? like chessoscorner.com does).I can't see any other options or features to set it as the default, or at least make them both accessible to the same content.Unless this is another thing like the DNS that takes time before it's fully working?

    Fifa 08

That's a pity, but more fluid movement is certainly welcome. So a game pad would be best for these games, I have one but it's just a cheapy PSX imitation for the PC (2 joysticks, L1/L2, R1/R2, 4 round buttons, d-pad, start, select etc).
