Well, you only listed some Windows Xp tweaking softwares in there. What you should have done is to give a tutorial on how to use al them softwares you listed in there.Personally, I have used some the above mentioned softwares and I kinda didn't like them. Yea, I know that they give some new and stylish graphical interfaces, but at the same time, they also eat up your system resources, especially your RAM.You can still go ahead and use those if your have a good amount of RAM on your system to play around with n if you aint running ystem resources consuming databases like me.

Problem With My Website Image wont show no mater wat
odomike replied to odomike's topic in Web Hosting Support
Ok guys. I have taken all your corrections. thank you so much for hastening to my cry. I am going back to my DreamWeaver and Frontpage ASAP.Will get back to you guys in a little while.Once again, Thank you so much to you guys.Umm.......I dont know and cant really say what exactly is happening here. I have made the corections you guys suggested but the same thing is still happening. I am honestly getting fed u with the website. Let me see...I might have to restart on a brand new scale. What a work in front of me.....Ohhh Notice from BuffaloHELP: The rules are still the same; no double post. If your post is the last one, you can EDIT your own to UPDATE. Merged. -
Hi, I am currently redesigning my website. There is something which is really baffling me about a particular image in the website. When viewed off line with either Internet Explorer 7, Opera v9.0.2, Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4 or Netscape Navigator 9.1b, everything works quite fine and there are no missing images. Come to think of it that after I upload the pages to my website, I was astounded to find out that some of the images simply refused to display despite uploading every single file and folder in my offline website. I have gone back and cross-checked to make sure that I didn't miss any of the images, but still, the same thing continued hapening. I have uploaded these particular images more than 3 times and yet, they aint showing. Just have a look at my website at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and tell me what you think of the missing images on my home page and some of the subsequent pages. Apart from this, I found that after uploading the web pages, my home page in particular is distorted by the Opera web browser while viewing it online. I cannot figure out why this is happenning too. When viewed offline, all the pages are ok, but they are something else while online. Can someone please help me figure out why these things are happening? I have started considering redesigning the website completely using a fresh design and outlook. I know the task is gonna be one heavy and tedious one on me, but I might have to embark on that if this problem persists. Thanks for your anticipated help.

Well, I am gonna try my best to give as detailed an exlanation as possible. I suggest you print out this explanation before starting your HardDisc/partition wiping and reformatting. First of all, you cannot use the command prompt to either forrmwt or delete your C:\ drive which hapens to be your rot partition (meaning you cannot wipe that particular partition because it is carrying your operating system. It is more like you are telling Windows XP to wipe itself which it will never attempt to do.) Follow these steps if you wanna either reformat or completely delete your C:\ drive. I am gonna give you a 2nd option after these steps. 1: Restart your PC and goto your BIOS setup to ensure that yur computer is configured to boot from your CD drive. 2: Press F10 and Enter to save and restart your computer (keeping in mind to insert your Operating System installation CD before saving and restarting from your BIOS setup) 3: When prompted, press any key on your keyboard to boot from CD (this you have to manually do 'cos you still have a partition with a File System in your root partition. The computer will automatically start booting from the CD it does not detect any File system or boot sector in your Hard Disc.) 4: Wait for the computer to load the Setup files. After this, you are presented with a page that asks you if you wanna repair your operating system using the windows console or if you wanna continue installing your OS (Operating System). Press the R key on your keyboard start the repair console (This is a DOS command windows which enables you to do things like repairing your boot sector (if something went wrong with your OS boot, or formating your root drive and other important tasks)). Do not press any keys on your keyboard untill you are presented with the following C:\Windows. If you had passworded your OS, keep the password in mind as you will be requsted to type this in to authenticate the user. For a first time user, I recommend you type HELP for a comprehensive list of all the tasks in the Windiows repair console. But, let me go straight to the tasks relevant to you. Type the following command after C:\.......format [/FS:File-System] [/V:Label] [/Q] [/A:Size] [/C] [/X]...replacing the required parameters with their apropriate infos. You will be asked to confirm the pending task(s) by prssing Y for yes or N for No. Press Y to start the formating process. Mind you that formatting will completely erase all the data you might have stored on your Local hard Disk Drive (C:\). You will see a confirmation to tell you that the formatting process have finished. type exit to restart you computer and start again from Number 3: above. You can decide to do the whole thing without going into the DOS command window. You can do this by skiping to press R when imediately after setup files are loaded. press Enter instead. Your computer will imediately analyze your Hard disc(s) and present you with the Windows XP professional EULA (End User License Agreement). press the F8 and wait for your computer to detect already preinstalled Windows XP. Press the ESC key to skip the repair at this point (as you want to completely reformat your computer.) Your are then presented with a list of all the partitions in your hard Disk starting from the Primary to the Logical ones (If you have more than one partition, but i am assuming you have only one partition in your PC). To completely DELETE/WIPE the C:\ partition, highlight it and press the D key and subsequently the Enter key and the L key. Keep in mind that Everything in your hard Disc will be wiped off immediately after you press the L key including the stuffs disturbing your PC and this is not reversible. So, remember to make every aviable back-ups before doing this. Your hard Disc immediately returns to the state in which it was when you bought it newly (This means that there is no File System or partitions in the hard Disc at this time). Press the C key and then Enter key to create another partition. Press the Enter key again to choose your preferred File System (NTFS or FAT32) I will recommend you use the NTFS as this is a much more stable File System than the FAT32 and it also enables Files and Folders compression which means you can compress your files and folders to save disc space. the formating starts and Windows will start copying the instalation files into your harddisc. Your system will restart after this process. I believe you can continue the installation of your Operating system from this point as I have elaborately exlained the Hard Disc/partition deletion/wiping and reformating using the windows XP default installation repair utility n formatting process. I hope this solves your computer problem dude.

Nice tutorial Soleimanian, I never knew you could actually disable the low disc space warning in Windows XP. Wana add some words to what you said... First and foremost, like you said in there, messing around with your windows registry editor without really knowing what you are doing in there can cause serious damages to your operating system and, maybe subsequent reformating of your PC What does that tell us, you dont tamper with regedit if u dont know how to use it. By the way, I wonder why anyone might wanna disable the low disk space warning. Who want to allow his Hard disc to fill to the brim without being alerted t take the necessary precautions. I know I pesonally wont try dat though. U can never tell though. I know that for some reason or the other, people might want to dabble into doing something like that in their PCs, but it aint advisable to try that on your computer.

How To Disable "show Hidden Files And Folders" In Folder Option
odomike replied to soleimanian's topic in Operating Systems
Hey dude, thats quite a kool tutorial u got there. But, one thing i wanna chip in is this, why would someone wanna disable hidden files n folders in his PC?Personally, I wouldnt wanna do that 'cos I know that I wouldbe jeopardizing my provacy. Apart from that, I hope that aint got anything to do with disabling the HIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM FILES (RECOMMENDED). That aint gonna be too kool should anyone try that. -
It happens at times. I had a similar experience one time when my girlfriend went after my own friend. You know, I noticed the development when it was about starting, but when I accused my friend, he denied the whole thing n told me to trust him. After the incident, I travelled back to shool (I was studying in another state) n by the time I came back, everything has already gone wrong. Well, I cant force her to go with me, so I told her I am out of the relationship.after about three years, she tried to contact me again, for reasons best known to her n which I never bothered to ask, but I refused to listen to her.Well, I guess u have to bear it Mermaid n continue. It can happen to anyone.

I think Vista Ultimate should be fine for ya as it has everything you can ever get in the Windows Vista Operating system. You should also remember that Windows Vista Ultimate has the highest system requirements amongs all of 'em.

It depends actually on wat you want to do in the website. If you wanna make dynamic webpages, then PHP is a much better option. Plain HTML cannot develop dynamic websites unless you might wanna use DHTML (Dynamic HyperText Markup language). that way, you will be able to achieve some dynamism in your website using HTML, but that aint plain HTML though as it is a lil' bit more comlex than the lain HTML.

Firefox V/s Internet Explorer For Web Design
odomike replied to saqib431's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think its most likely because of the mozilla engine. Thats y firefox is behaving that way. It once messed up my site. When I view the site on internet explorer, everything will be fine but once I switch to firefox, it distorts a lot of the cells and tables in there.Well,I had to find a work-around that problem and I was finally able to correct it. I would advice you to use both internet explorer and firefox when designing your website because they use different engines n like you all know, not every web surfer uses internet explorer. It wont be like when someone, somewhere views your website, the who0le thing will be in shambles. For me, I have Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 9.0b and Opera all installed in my computer. This is because I use all ofthem to troubleshoot my websites in case of errors. -
Why Not To Get Married My fun divorce
odomike replied to chefwhit606's topic in Dating And Relationships
Hey man, so sorry to hear that sorry. I nearly landed myself into that kinda messy situation too. My ex girlfriend would have messed up a whiole lota my time if I had ended up marrying her.Could you imagine that after spending a whole 3 yrs with this girl and after she promised me everything under the sun, all she could do was ditch me for some *BLEEP* dont even want her.Well, I felt bad at first, but after a while, I started my God I never went into the marriage with her or I would have landed myself into one real deep *BLEEP*. -
I think ghosts do exist. I once had an encounter myself during my secondary school (High school).First of all, my school was a missionary school which was supposedly built on top a burial ground (we were told that the villagers, because of their hatred for the missionaries could only give out a burial ground for the school to be built). We were hearing errie stories of ghosts around there but we never believed any of those until I actuially encountered them ghosts myself.I woke up in the middle of the night n also woke up my friends so we could go n urinate. It was a boarding school n the lights have already been turned off. we climbed down the stairs n were walking towards the toilets when we suddenly saw, right in front of us, between 20 to 30 meters, a lantern moving but no one was carrying it...more like it was hanging in the air. u know, we got surprised at this n everyone stopped. i thouhgt in one split second that this might be one of the school guards, but i also wondered, A SCHOOL GUARD WITHOUT LEGS??? that was quite wierd.all of a sudden, one of us, i dont know exactly, shouted ...... HEY!!! n before u could say jiffy, the lantern blinked about 4 times n went off.we got frightened in the surrounding darkness n ran for our dear lives. as we ran we were hearing a running footstep behind us as if someone was chasing us.another incidence was when, still in the same school, n in the night, we decided to go thru the second stair (this buildings has two stairs on both sides). just beside the left stair was our refectory (dining rhall).as we climbed down the stairs, we were hearing nioses inside the dining hall as if there a lota people in there. By the way, the time was around 2:00am and no student was outside by then. we went and banged on the windows of the dining hall and we immidiately heard a stampede as if them spirits were running for their dear lives (they aint got lives though), and guess what we did....we ran for our own dear lives lest the ghosts come back and meet us there.Sounds crazy but these things actually happened.

Another method to disable safe mode is to remove the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot] Backup the key before deleting it, of course. This method does not remove the boot menu. However, it disables Windows' ability to actually boot to safe mode. Attempting to boot to safe mode will cause a quick Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and restart.

I know that there has been many at times, when for some reason or the other, people would want to disable the ability of Windows XP to boot into safe mode. Even though that this is not a very thing advisable thing to do, but still, people, due to some reasons best known to them would always want to do this. The other day, a friend of mine who works in (manages is the right word) a cyber cafe was heads over toes, trying to figure out to to disable the safe mode boot in Windows XP. His reason..... customers are hacking into their computers and browsing free of charge by booting into safe mode when none of the cybercafe staffs are around to monitor them. I have also seen a case of someone who wants to disable safe mode boot cos' he doesnt want his friends (room-mates) to have access to his system's root admin. Despite my advice to this guy to put a password in there instead of disabling safe mode boot, it all fell on deaf ears. Says they have dealt with him ruthlessely. Well, I decided to help me friend (The cyber cafe manager) to solve his problem. I engaged myself on researching through the internet to fish out ways through which I can tackle this problem for him. After rumaging through the internet for days, I finally landed myself on 2 very good and working options. Here we go.......... 1. DISABLING THE SAFE MODE BOOT ON WINDOWS XP BY EDITTING WINDOWS XP'S NTLDR.SYS FILE. I bet whomsoever is reading through this tutorial would by now, be thinking..."Ain't this guy crazy???", "How the hell does he expect me to edit ntldr.sys.?", "What happens after editing the damn file and my computer refuses to boot?", Does that mean that I am in for a reformat?"...... The following tut will answer all those questions cos' I have test ran the whole procedure on my PC and it worked perfectly. The process is done by editing NTLDR.SYS in hex mode. You will need a software called 010 editor. This is a hex/binary editor and it will enable you to edit any file you want in either binary of hex mode. Download this software from http://www.sweetscape.com/010editor/ and install it into your computer. Secondly, Open windows explorer (Double click the My Computer icon on the desktop or Click start, goto run and type C:\Windows\explorer.exe\ to start Windows Explorer). Look at the file menu and click on tools. Click on Folder Options among the drop down menu and goto the VIEW TAB. Find and enable Show Hidden Files and Folders and also Find and disableHIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM FILES (RECOMMENDED). Click on Apply and OK to exit the menu. Then, goto your system's root drive (partition) which is usually C:\ (Unless otherwise renamed). You will find out that there are several other files in there which you most probably, have never seen before. Those are the protected system files and are not meant to be tampered. Now, find the ntldr.sys and right click and click on properties. Uncheck the read only option. Apply and OK. Now, go back and launch the 010 editor. Click on file, Open and select the ntldr.sys file. You will see that this file has been opened in hex mode (All you will see there will be 0s and 1s and some letters here and there). At the options, click on SEARCH and select Find. In the Find dialog box, click the Type menu and select Hex Bytes (h). In the value field, enter CD 16 0F 85 09. Then click Find All. The found value should now appear in the bottom pane of the 010 Editor window. Click on the CD 16 0F 85 09 value, and then hit Ctrl+R on the keyboard. Now locate the Value field in the Replace With portion of the Replace dialog box and enter CD 16 90 90 90. Then click the Replace button. If you receive a warning message that no more occurrences exist, click OK. Then click Close to exit from the Replace dialog box. You should now see the new value, (CD 16 90 90 90), displayed in the lower pane of the 010 Editor window. You can now close the editor. When prompted to save the changes to the ntldr file, click Yes. Then reboot the system. Now if you hit F8 to interrupt the boot sequence, you’ll see the Safe Mode boot options but no keystrokes will be accepted. Instead, you’ll have to sit and wait 30 seconds for the Safe Mode boot options to timeout and for Windows to start normally or the OS simply wont respond to the F8 keystrokes. Anyone now trying to access safe mode will have 30 seconds to bang on the keyboard and turn red while they wait. Keep in mind that if ntldr is updated via a service pack or patch that you’ll need to repeat this process to again disable Safe Mode boots.

yea i know that most new motherboards come with that feature in that it shuts down on CPU over-temperature. I also know that it is not all of them cos I have seen a case whereby the CU heats up so much that it physically burnt the motherboard. The issue is not the auto shut down feature of the motherboard, but ensuring that both the CPU and motherboard doesnt overheat in the first place. That is one thing you should take gr8 care about while overclocking your CPU and motherboard.

How Do I Overclock My Processor? Im a newbie at all this.
odomike replied to cragllo's topic in Hardware Workshop
to overclock your processor folloz these:1. Power your computer and press the F2 or Del key as the case may be to launch you into the system CMOS setup.2. Locate the page that refer to your processor speed. You will most likely see that your processor multiplier is locked and you can only overclock through maneuvering your processor frequency (the speed of your processor is the gotten by multiplying the frequency and multiplyier of the processor).Increasing the frequency increases the speed while reducing it reduces the processor's speed. take care not to do too much overclocking with your AMD processor and endeavour to check your processor's control temperature at AMD's website before you start overclocking as there will be an increase in temperature after the overclocking since overclocking increases the power production of the processor and the heat production consequently.I hope you have a very good heat dissipator (heat sink). -
What Processor You Have? PC processors only please.

I am currently using pentium 4 630+ 3.00GHz. I am thinking of upgrading both motherboard and processor. I want to buy a Dual Socket LGA 775 motherboard with 2x Pentium XE 3.8GHz (Dual core w/HTT).I think thats kool. -
I use Intel Pentium 4 630 and I have ran some analysis of the processor comparing it with some AMD processors. There are a lot of things you should consider before you say that Intel or AMD is better.1. you should consider the power consumption and heat dissipation of the processor.2. you should consider the processors arithmetic (calculations per second) performance.3. the multi-media capabilities of the processor should also be put into consideration too.4. Apart from the above mentioned issues, the cache memory of the processor should also be put into consideration. I understand that most Intel processors come with more L2 cache memories that their AMD counterparts but the AMDs are still competing with the Intels irrespective of that downside.Well, in my own review, I think that the Intel processors are better than the AMD processors.Download and run Everest Ultimate Engineer Edition or Sisoftware Sandra XI and use it to check the performance of your processor against a particular rated processor.xboxrulz, judging from the benchmarking results of sisoftware sandra, my pentium 4 630+ out-performed AMD Athlon XP by far in all the benchmarks. it was comparing with some of the higher AMD like the lower FX series processors, so I think that you are wrong there.

ok, I know that I have quite a number of real crazy overclockings before. like clocking a 2.4GHz Pentium IV processor to rum at 3.6 GHz (Woooow). That is a kool 50% overclocking and guess what? Everything was still normalk even after the crazy overclocking....Can you believe that.I do respect the Intel Northbridge chipsets as they really allow you to do some very kool clocking to your processor, RAM and Northbridge. I have used a number of Pentium IV class processors and motherboards (6 pairs to be exact) within a quite a very short interval of time (within the past 1 year and half) and I have also tasted a number of Northbridge Chips ranging from Intel to SIS and VIA. Amongst all these, I think tha Intel Northbridge Chips are far more better than the others with VIA been the worse of all as ity doesnt allow any clockong whatsoever.Ok, enof of that jargon. I am currently using a Pentium 4 630 processor which was meant to run at 3.00GHz (Default at 800 FSB) with an 800 FSB ASROCK 775i65GV motherboard and 1 GB of Dual Channel DDR 400 (PC3200U). These 2 hardwares are meant to go at 800 FSB but I have done some clocking and got both of them to run at 1 GHz FSB by clocking the processor to 3.82GHz....Could you believe that? This I did by increasing the Processor's frequency in the CMOS setup. the processor's multiplier is locked at 15 so that can't be maneuvered. I have also done a lota analysis on the overclocked hardwares to determine their stability at their current speed. I started with using Everest Ultimate Engineer Edition to run a series of Benchmark (memory read, memory write, memory copy, memory latency, CPU Queen, CPU Photoworxx, CPU ZLib, FPU Julia, FPU mandel and FPU SinJulia benchmarks) on the hardwares and everything were fine after the benchmarking. I even ran a system stability test which will test the processor stability, FPU stability, cache and memory stability and local disk stability by stressing all these components to determine if they will fail in their overclocked state, but all the hardwares passed the stability test.Next came another round of benchmarking with Sisoftware Sandra XI. I am not gonna give a detailed review of the benchmarking results. I ran the Processor Arithmetic, Processor Multi-Media test, Processor power efficiency test, cache and memory test and memory latency test. After every benchmarck, I continuosly monitored the temperature of the processor and the MB as an overheating due to processor total utilization could cause a lota harm to the Processor and possibly the motherboard too. there was no overheating whatsoever sp everything is kool.Well, the rexult of the whole overclocking and benchmarking was a considerable increase in speed and ruggedity and an overall increase in Motherboard and Memory bandwidth. I can run more multi-threaded applications now and not think of the system slowing down in any way. Here is my advice to any overclocker....1. While overclocking your hadwares, always endeavour to keep an eye on the temperatures of your hardware components as this can cause a very serious harm to your hardwares.2. Try not to go to a very clocking speed in a go. Start from little overclocking and increase as you determine the stability of your hardwares with the overclocking.3. Always remember to run stability benchmarks as some peograms stress and utlilize the processor, memory and some hardwares more than th others.4. If you plan to game with the computer after overclocking, make sure to run a stability test on the hardwares to make sure that they don't faill in the heat of the game.Lastly, before you start overclocking your hardwares, make sure to read your hardware manufacturer's waranty (I guess most guys out there wouldn't bother to do this) as i dont think any manufacturer would advice any End User to overclock. If you are using AMD processors, please make sure to determine your processor's control temperature as AMD processors don't withstand too much temperature like their Intel counterparts. Thanks to all.
