  1. Man, I miss this game. I used to play it all the time back in the day. I'm looking forward to Blizzards next installment of a game like Diablo (it'll probably be Diablo III). I'm looking forward to Starcraft II even more, but you know they'll continue the RPG genre. They may have to wait a while though so that it doesn't compete with World of Warcraft.
  2. If you use torrents this can happen (it did with me anyway). It also would happen occasionally when I allowed firefox to have too many connections going at once. It only seemed to affect the wifi connection as well (my roommate was connected with an ethernet cable and he could still connect to the router). If that's not it, make sure it's not overheating, and possibly contact the company that makes it. It could quite possibly be a common issue with an easy fix.
  3. I think that if you are still in love with your ex you should break up with your current boyfriend. Not just for your sake, but for the sake of your current boyfriend. It's not fair to treat him as a sort of secondary "if it works out with him I'll keep him, but I love this other guy." In my opinion you should either decide that you will cut off any sort of romantic feelings between you and your ex immediately, or tell your current boyfriend that you need some time to decide. Don't lead him on if you're not sure what you want. Please take my advice as simply another opinion though, other people might have advice that works better for you. I gave my advice based on the perspective of how it affects your current boyfriend, rather than you or your ex.
  4. I really liked what I've read of the series (most of it, but I forgot most of it as well). I think at some point I'm going to have to reread the entire series, otherwise I'll be entirely lost if I try to pick up where I left off. I do remember I was annoyed by it because at one point one of the main characters almost became a different sort of person, and I lost any feeling of empathy with him.
  5. Well, not exactly in line with the type of games you're talking about but I believe there is a fairly large group of people who play WoW on linux, there just isn't really much support for it.
  6. Well, considering the list, I think I'll just say my favorite MMORPG. WoW would have to win that one, I liked Guild Wars but I just couldn't stand the invisible walls and the lack of jumping. For some reason I feel restricted in games that don't have a jump button (at least, games that are designed like WoW or Guild Wars).
  7. I like the Harry Potter books, and I've re-read a number of them (not quite to the degree of some of you, 2-4 times is enough for me), but I don't think they're the best written books in the world. J.K. Rowling has created a very intriguing world, and her writing is easy and relaxing to read, but I don't think it's on the same level as other Fantasy writers.
  8. Hillary received much more media coverage because she was a much more viable mainstream candidate. Ron Paul might be popular with some groups of people, but even they will admit that most of his ideas definitely do not fit into mainstream public views. I'm not arguing for one over the over (to tell you the truth I don't like either of them all that much), but Hillary Clinton had a broader appeal to the US populace. Ron Paul has a very vocal base, but Hillary Clinton had the backing of a much larger group of people, as well as the Clinton name brand left over from her husband's presidency. I think that Ron Paul probably could have used more media coverage, and should have received it, but from the media's point of view they could address a larger number of people by talking about Hillary.

    Halo

I disagree. I think that while Halo is a fun game, and it definitely has a great amount of appeal, there are a number of games with better graphics/story/audio etc... In my opinion, Halo has created a very engaging game, where the gameplay is fun and easy. The multiplayer experience is exciting and fast paced, but allows for simple strategy and planning as well. Personally, I prefer games like Call of Duty, but I still enjoy Halo, I just don't think it's the amazing game that all the hype seems to make it out to be.
  10. Well, I use FireFTP and that seems to work fine. Just make sure you're loading to the correct folder. I'm sortof lazy sometimes so I'm a fan of the drag and drop functionality.
  11. I live in the US, but I've traveled a bit so I know we have it pretty good over here as far as gas prices go. I have to do a fair amount of driving, but I personally think that gas prices going up is not necessarily a bad thing. While it cuts into my money for sure (broke college student), what I spend on gas doesn't come close to what I spend on food (hungry college student). Of course, I drive a tiny two seater that is supposed to get 40-50 mpg. We're sort of spoiled here in the US when it comes to gas prices, we don't pay nearly as much as people do in the UK for example. I was in England over Christmas, and even with the drop of the US dollar compared to the pound, they were still paying almost twice as much as I do at home.
  12. I am having the same problem. I tried at gamma.xisto.com/cpanel, I can see my site at gamma.xisto.com/~tcube/, but I still can't log in to my cpanel.
  13. The brand of the RAM shouldn't matter. Quite possibly it's some sort of incompatibility as others have said, that is worth checking. My suggestion would be to load Memtest86+ onto a cd and check to make sure your RAM isn't bad. If you bought cheap RAM (this is the only area where brand might come into play) it's a bit more likely to be defective. I was having a large amount of problems with an old computer, and when I found out my new 256mb RAM chip was defective and removed it the problems were fixed (sortof, the computer didn't run so well with only 128mb of RAM).
  14. Personally, I'd go for performance/speed upgrades well before I made my car look nice. Then again, I prefer the look of a car with a little bit of mud on it. In my opinion, cars are for being used, not for looking pretty.
  15. I disagree, I think the 360 has plenty to offer other than FPS's. On the other hand, if you want to play a lot of those the 360 has the best controller for them by far.You can get plenty of other games for the 360, even if they're not 360 specific. As you're not planning to get a PS3 I won't bother discussing it's merits. The Wii is definitely fun, and cheaper, but I've found that the games tend to be rather alike, and you don't get much in the way of epic/grandiose story telling or games. My personal preference would be a 360, and when you want to play Brawl just head over to a friend's house.
  16. Well, if you happen to know where the wireless router is located then getting your laptop/wireless receiver as close to that as possible would help of course. Also, you can buy a USB network adapter with an external antenna to extend your range. If you choose to go that route I'd suggest researching which ones people have found most effective.
  17. While I agree that it is pretty awesome, it also saddens me. It is a continuation of the decline of the respectability that Facebook used to have. Of course, they lost it all when they added the apps. The apps are cool, but Facebook basically became just a better alternative to Myspace, rather than staying a more professional/college student networking website.
  18. Well, I was on a trip and we were driving through some mountain passes. It was raining fairly heavily, and we could only see maybe 20-25 feet in front of the car. As we were driving we saw a cop car coming down from the opposite direction, he slowed down as we passed him but we didn't really pay attention. We were just driving along when we suddenly saw a 4-6 foot wall of mud coming down the road in front of us. There was a whole tree getting swept along in the ditch on the side of the road as well. The person driving quickly slammed on the brakes, threw it into reverse, and started driving back down the road. Now, the story could end there, and we theoretically would have just driven back to the nearest town or campsite and waited until they cleared the road later the next day, but it didn't work like that. The story continues: We were driving back down and we see a cop car that had passed us earlier. He flashed his lights at us and we pulled over to talk to him. It turns out that while we were driving up that way, another mudslide had occurred behind us. Now, we were in a mountain pass with no way down, and there weren't any restroom stops or anything where we were. The cop told us that there were quite a few people trapped like us, and had us drive back down the pass a bit farther to a decent sized clearing on either side of the road. We ended up staying there until about 1:00 pm the next day while they were clearing the road. Apparently, they were going to helicopter food in for everyone trapped there, but it turned out there was a Hotshot crew (highly trained wilderness firefighters) doing training out there. They weren't actually there, but they'd left their trucks (full of supplies) on the side of the road. The highway patrol/cops were actually had to bring the trucks up to where we were because the lower mudslide was pushing the Hotshot's trucks off the road. So they set up a big bonfire and fed us using the Hotshots supplies.
  19. Huh, back at my High School they just asked that visitors go to the office to get a badge, but I don't know that it mattered too much. If someone looked suspicious I'm sure people would ask what they were doing, but we didn't really have any sort of security there. Granted, it was a small school in a small town.
  20. I might be interested in writing, but I'd like to know what I'm writing about before I agree to anything. I have my last final in 6 hours so I'm going to have plenty of free time for the next few weeks.
  21. Well, not to burst your bubble or anything, but 90% of the people that I know who smoke are female. I'm not sure why most of them started, but they smoke now because it "relieves stress." When they first started smoking, it was probably at a party of some sort, and they probably did it because they wanted to fit in, but now that they're addicted, the cigarette works as a good stress reliever for them. As someone said earlier, smoking often becomes a part of who someone is, they make it a part of their personal image, and they don't want to give that up.
  22. Well, you could always turn it into a webcomic. Sounds like prime material for one to me. If you enjoy doing it then it's worth doing.I'm sure theres tons of different characters you could make, but these are the first ones that came into my head after reading the ones you have already.Possible bear stereotypes: Jock, Intellectual, Alt. Rock, Political, etc...
  23. Yes, of course. Hillary deserves to get the delegates from Michigan, it's not like she was the only person on the ballot or anything. I mean, she got 55% of the vote! Competing against... nothing.
  24. I'm definitely an Obama supporter, and while I wouldn't mind if Hillary chose to drop out now, I don't think that she should have to. If the roles were reversed and Obama was behind, I'd want him to stay in the race. If she chooses to drop out than that is fine, but I don't think I agree with all of the people who are trying to convince her to drop out. It would probably be better if she dropped out, but it is fair for her to stay in for now.
