PC Fan Spins For One Second And Stops - No Bootup
iGuest replied to WeaponX's topic in Hardware Workshop
I had this problem on a system, it actually turned out to be the case itself. I pulled everything out of the case, and noticed that the metal flap that supports the power supply was bent downward slightly, and that it had actually been making ever-so-slight contact with the motherboard. I bent it back to its correct position, and the problem was gone. -

Hard Drive Freezes My Pc, But Not Mac Os X - Always Worked Before, but What is Going On Now?Hard Drive Freezes My Pc, But Not Mac Os X@ (G)ranz, try using another computer to recover your files - if possible run the chkdsk utility (right click the drive in my computer > properties > tools > error checking / check now > check BOTH boxes and run Check Disc.To everyone else, I Have two generations of Vantec NexStar ex-USB cases, the old one (v1, usb2.0) is wicked awesome, never had an issue, the two new ones (NS 3) **** - or so I think. I've had a new hdd literally blow up in one, another one seems to be dying a slow death and Ive come to the conclusion Western Digital and Vantec's NexStar are incompatible with each other and/or Windows XP - they work fine together in Vista or Win7 but it makes Xp sick ... DO NOT just unplug or shut down when your USB HD is plugged in, safely remove no matter what!! But if you have issues with your external drive, try using it on vista or win 7 -reply by brandub

Please take note that most people who are fluent in computers know that IE is not always the best choice of browsers. I'm getting this error on Win 2003 Terminal servers at least once a day where I work. Normally this would be something that I would like to avoid but we require to use IE because some of the applications that we use run off the .NET framework. It only works with IE so we don't have much of a choice. Thanks for the information. It's helpful to know where the issue's are coming from. Now maybe I can setup some sort of GP to stop this from happening. -reply by Kris Karl

I followed the simple instructions to double the speed and what do you know... I now have 115kbps... Not fatastic but better than I had.

My wife loves MS Photo Editor and when I upgraded her to Office XP 2007, I became persona non grata. After seeing your post, and finding my old Office XP 2002 cd, I was able to regain my rightful place in the order of things. PC vs PS3 vs XBOX360Cod4 Is Best On What?Ok this, arguement is rediculous and biased. Naturally you will say the thing you use is the best, but that doesn't make it so. I have spent many hours using a controller and of course, I **** with a keyboard and mouse. I recently bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for PC but due to my patheticness bought a PC controller so I could actually do something other than be shot at. My first thoughts were there is no way a controller will compete with a keyboard and mouse, but you know what? I was wrong. It there is no difference between my skill and the skill of other players, because I have put as much practise into a controller as the have keyboard and mouse. You can stand there and argue about it all day but its all about practise. As for graphics, PC wins by a mile. And the network.. Lets face it, Infinity Ward screwed up, IW Net is complete crap. Its terrible on all gaming devices. -reply by liquidbolt

But some time 2 or 3Bullets are not enough to kill an enemy. And I also noticed once I played in GZ. And I did play better than myHome pc. Any suggestion? I am using laser mouse.Angel Bros. BB

First and foremost, if 2012 is true (meaning the world is going to "end"), then there's nothing you can really do about it. If it doesn't, then...Well, then it doesn't. As for all of your "so sought after answers..." here is my opinions/theories: The mayan calendar was set to end on 2012 because of the "recycling affect of tracking time. There was no need to go any further when creating the calendar because they would start at the beginning of the calendar when they reached the end. After staring at the sky for many years, you'll notice patterns, which today has brought us our astonomers. With time, space and earth, you'll continue to notice the same things over and over again (patterns). Home many times have civilizations/species turned up missing. This earth as you see it every day is designed to maintain itself. It's is flawless in design. One little thing wrong and our current ecosystem would not be able to exist. Everything is in balance and is reused. A so to speak "self licking ice cream cone". After so long, the earth is meant to "recycle" itself in order to stay preserved. (preserve itself if you will)..Time, space and the earth all following a repeating time line (not necessarily the same timeline or a "2012" end of the world time line). Where did the dinosoars go? Why is the earth's temperature slowly rising? If the earth floods, freezes and goes back to normal...Wouldn't that explain the dinosours? Just my thoughts... AJ

Seems cool - Minor issuesIs Sitecube A Google/yahoo CompanyIt seems cool for people with no technical knowledge who want a flash based website. There are issues though as I am familiar with html, php, mysql and basic web hosting and ftp, ect. I tried to help a client and everything must be done through the sitebuilder gui, no ftp access and no direct file html access. I was slightly annoyed that we could not add in our own meta tags and search engine optimization, and we could not remove their plug advertisement on the bottom of the page, and the final website is almost completely encrypted in protected flash. On the other hand, my client did not know much about web design or hosting, and managed to get the start of a cool looking website up. If you purchase the super seo package or something like that, which my client did, you can submit limited meta information to them and hope they put things in right, which I am assuming they did.

When I was 4 years old, my uncle (by marriage), sexually molested me. He repeatedly did it for years. He told me that if I told anyone, he would kill my father. Finally, it stopped when I was in 8th grade because he moved away. I had a hard time all my life trying to understand what was happening to me and became very depressed over the years but I fought it. I fought it by being very active in high school, getting good grades, being a cheerleader, UIL competitor and winner and even getting 3 full scholarships to college. But, something happened to me once I graduated. I began acting out and was really depressed and thought I was going crazy. I sought after help but couldn't get answers. I didn't have self worth anymore and had low self esteem. I found myself trying to make people like me by being someone I was not. Eventually, I committed a crime (forgery). I never had a criminal history and even with the forgery, didn't take anything that didn't belong to me. I was just stupid and tried to impress someone to make them like me. Anyway, I got in trouble for it and spent 5 years on probation. I have 2 weeks left on it. Since the crime, I got the help that I needed, went to college and got my BA in Psychology and am in grad school studying Human Relations and Business. I'm also helping other women who have been sexually abused as well. The problem is, no matter what anyone says about my past, I know who I am. I'm not the person that committed that crime. That person was hurting, abused and hopeless. Nevertheless, no one will give me a job. It's hard to find an apartment that's not in a bad area, and most of the time, I can't get assistance. I believe that first time non-violent offenders should have the opportunity for a sealed or expunged record. But, currently that's not happening. So, what are our options? Who's going to give those who are truly trying the chance to redeem themselves? This is not about first impressions. This is about survival. Here I am trying to make a better life for myself and don't know where my next meal is coming from. I'm staying at a family members house because no one will give me housing. No one will give me a job to take care of myself. What choices do we have? Going back to crime doesn't work for me, because it was NEVER me. I just got caught up in my situation because I had underlined problems that needed to be addressed and dealt with. Today, I've been having to talk myself out of committing suicide. I feel like it's going to always be this way. But, I'm not going to let myself go out like that! I'm strong, I'm a hard worker, I love life and optimism. So, I will wait and pray. Someday, somehow, something will work out...For the good. -reply by Still Standing

Sounds From Hell In Siberia First scientis proof of Hell existance
iGuest replied to fermin25's topic in General Discussion
Call it a hoax or make it go away?Sounds From Hell In SiberiaLike everyone else on this page, I have read both sides of this issue. Have you considered why an individual would fabricate a story, manufacture a sound recording, submit it to a European newspaper, then do the same with an American religious television network only to recant his fable at the last minute without any noticeable incentive? I have never before read or witnessed such an elaborate falsehood being woven without any ultimate gain. As some folks say in the South, "I ain't sayin', I'm just sayin'." I'm not necessarily stating this incident is the real deal, but the individual who finally blew the whistle on this story had no reason to make such an outlandish claim to begin with. Food for thought; for those of you who take the case of, "why didn't the microphone wires burn?", consider the technology available to most industrial nations that enables work to take place inside of foundries, blast furnaces, mine shafts and oh yeah, interplanetary exploration (that means our solar system). Check out the facts of NASA technology for instance, that has been made available to the international community since the late 1960s, capable of penetrating violent magnetic storms and providing brief signals from relatively close distances to the sun. 2,000 degrees is a benchmark attained and surpassed by NASA. That same technology has been open for development by other tech fields such as mining and fossil fuel exploration. But never mind the facts, I am more curious as to why the gentlemen ( I believe his first name is 'Age'?) did this in the first place. I really didn't believe it when I first read the article, but the more it seems to bother people, the more I become interested. Why debate and strive to disprove the Easter Bunny? Well exactly, that's foolish. Why the debate and hand-wringing (for many) over the possibilities of eternal hell? Kind of bothers you, doesn't it. Never mind trying to disprove or prove the existence God or the evil one. Just pray to the blessed Christ, Son of God, for your salvation and never have to worry about hell. -reply by Scott R -

Maybe it would be best for you guys to break it off, and find someone more you r age... and if she doesn't understand then she is obviously immature and if you want to be with a girl like that, then I guess that's your fault. -reply by Niki Riley

no justificationHiroshima And The Atomic BombI've been to hiroshima in japan and the bombing there was completely un-justified. The american goverment knew japan was going to attack them before they did, there is proof of this, and pearl harbour was a military base meaning all people there were willing to risk their life for their country. Hiroshima was not and is not a military base, its a city like every other. Full of civillians young and old. If you/your teacher/most of the american people went to the memorial site to see some of the remains of childrens clothes and toys and hear some of the stories the people who lived through it had to say you'd see there was no justification. Children skin melted off there body because of the heat, and sure as hell children weren't a threat to america were they? the government took the cowards way out and played dirty, not to say that the japanese were completely innocent, but the children and civilians were. So in short there was NO justification for the A-bomb.
