  1. I say g-mail or "google mail" is only good for the amount of storage they give you, and the invites they allow you to give out. Other than that I think it slow when logging in, and there menus are kind of confusing, but I use yahoo mail, I like it, find my options easily.
  2. Is it possible you could show how your output looks? I'm trying to understand what you want in your last request: <?php$announcementOn = true;$announcement = 'blah';?><?phpif($announcementOn) echo $announcement;else{...do whatever you want...}?> I don't think I fully understood what you wanted, or why you have a mysterious blank, is this because $announcement is empty/null? Cheers, MC
  3. There's many utilities out there that can reset the administrator password (make it blank). I can't remember off the top of my head, but I've used some really good ones, one was a Linux Live CD (Austrumi after looking through my filesystem) which is about 50MB which you'd just pass a command at the prompt and it'd help you recover/remove the administrator password. I do have another one which I've only called Password Recovery on the CD, so I don't know what it's called either, I can't even track that CD down. I'm just currently searching through my filesystem to see if I left the image of it on here, ok, it's only called cd050303.zip and searching for this found a helpful link. https://www.petri.com/forgot_administrator_password I've tried two from there, Offline NT Password & Registry Editor (v050303) was the other one I was trying to remember, because you've got SCSI, these may not have the drivers needed. The linux one may have them. Cheers, MC
  4. i have 2x 256 mb san disk cruzer usb flash sticks when i gotta transfer small things, but if i gotta transfer other stuff i use dvdr's since it has more storage capacity, but the flash sticks are great for the small things and their cheap
  5. its nothin special, its a compaq with 1.40 ghz processor, 256 mb ram(512 pc133 max), nvidia geforce fx5200 128mb(which i bought - pci), nec nd2500a dvdrw drive(i bought) and thats about it, im not upgrading it all until i get my new computer im gonna build
  6. woah, were those like the first invented hard drives? it looks like a chainsaw lol, but really if that big thing is the fan...then wow, thats crazy cause people use things that size now adays as like heatsinks or something better with their hardware..crazy, nice find though
  7. there is a video of the one with the guy using liquid nitrogen but i forgot his overclock speed, its crazy, i think this is it http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  8. i use this one http://www.logitech.com/en-ca and most games i play, madden 06, nba 06, nhl 06 ea recommends using this controller. i paid 20 bucks for it at a gamestop near me and it hasnt given me any problems yet.
  9. just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone on the forums. there are some good topics here and interesting ones, its good that its not about social life or anything, and is more about technology, gaming, etc. i also like the service that is advertised, it seems like something good for someone like me later
  10. if it is an actual store and not some kiosk thing then thats good, because like dell they say they have stores but sometimes they are just kiosks and not big stores, but about alienware..there prices are pretty high even though the computers they have are of good quality, i dont know how they will do if this is true honestly
  11. i have 15 running, but when im using internet apps like aim, yahoo, msn messanger, du meter and so on, its around 19 or so. plus i only have 256 mb of ram, so my pf usage is sort of low at most times.
  12. if you want you can look for programs that can re-encode music files to a higher bit rate to whatever you want, or make it a variable bitrate if you want, i'm sure theres some programs out there. good luck!!

    Pci Slots

I was pissed off when I found out my computer had no agp slots, since the onboard video was crap, but I got the computer in 2002 I figured it would be decent at the time, but after I found out about the no agp, i went and bought a nvidia geforce fx 5200 w/128 mb for around 110 bucks, it does the job to play games like cs 1.6, nhl 06 and so on, but i want better! and i'm only getting better when i get a new computer , i aint upgrading this
  14. I use to use winzip but when I started having to unzip different file types that winzip didnt support i didnt know what to do. then i seen winrar, its fast with most unzipping, it supoprts alot of popular formats, and it has so many options on if u want to create your own archive of stuff.
  15. i use to use avg antivirus since it was free, but i stopped cause it was lacking in updates, and virus udpates were coming out like 2-3 days late, it wasnt that much of a resource hog, but i just wish they updated the viruses definition quicker.so do you use it?
  16. I like the media center theme, its sorta a brighter and crisper version of the original blue, and it just looks nice. once i seen it i thought it was a newer version of the original, but i found out it was the media center version.
  17. i like panda anti virus, it doesnt cost much and it detects almost if not most viruses out there. the updates are fast and always constant, it uses alittle bit of system resources i think, but i still like it anyway
  18. i have a gmail and yahoo mail account but i use yahoo more, its faster to login and things arent easy to move around and stuff, on gmail it takes alittle while to login, they have weird drop down menus for how to move things, one thing i can say good though is nice amount of storage lol
  19. its good to see at least some versions of paintball getting onto the pc world, cause theres only a few out, and most are on xbox, ps2..but then again i dont think paintball would be big online, unless it was graphically great or something, then i could understand
  20. mine would be counter strike 1.6, quake 4, doom3, unreal tournament 2004 and f.e.a.r, they all play great online and have alotta servers to pick from, except for doom 3, its still a good single player that sorta takes time to beat. i cant wait for stalker: oblivion i think its called, that looks really good
  21. I like Madden 06, NBA 06, NHL 06, Tiger Woods 06 and thats about it I dont have any others but most of these games can be modded except for madden, I havent seen any for tiger woods 06, but nba and nhl theres some good mods out, like stadium mods, uniform mods, and so on..makes the game better
  22. I play this for pc with my dual action gamepad and I really enjoy it cause you can use custom sliders, rosters, imported teams and etc, even though you cant import a player when you wanna do superstar mode, the game is still great anyway
  23. I recently bought Counter Strike 1 Anthology for only 20 bucks and it was a great buy cause I havent played cs since 1.5 and that was like years ago, but its fun playing again!
  24. I like the new charcters they added even though it might not be alot they added, and some of the new unlockable stuff is cool too, must suck for people who play xbox since its ps2 only
  25. i heard the new one for xbox360 is suppose to be like excellent or beyond that, but i decided not to get a 360, the screenshots look great for it though
