  1. For your kindest information, I am not here to get hosting or do I have a hosting account here, I just like Xisto and all the people here (including you) so if you want proof check it if you like. Ok, enough about SMF, I am sick with it none of their mods are compaitble with each other and with the latest version and 95% of their mods are for YaBB not SMF (ok, there are a lot). And dont say anything to my cute little phpBB , of course I use it only for my Arcade Mod to play online with friends. But doesnt mean that they have a lot of security patches if they release a lot of updates, may be the updates are for enhancing phpBB, do you know?
  2. I wouldn't really reccomend getting that software.Photoplus is basicly just like Paintshop Pro but free,Photoplus is okay-ish for begginers but theres better free photo editing software out there, like GIMP...
  3. The one Rebecca mentiond is great, also try THEASE - there all freeware and by the looks of it there pretty good.
  4. Yup, that's exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks a lot, xboxrules .I always assumed that VLC came with many codecs, which I suppose is true but I can't be sure since I'm not all that familiar with video handling measures. But your link for the codecs site is really helpful. Again, thanks a lot .
  5. I'v used Freewebs,Geocities,50webs and Atspace and loads more but not one of them come close to Xisto! Asta is simply fantastic and comes with an amazing community so Xisto gets my vote =)
  6. Thanks,I was looking for a few good XMB hack sites!
  7. The cursors are okay but a little old... Try Jasc Animation Shop you can make cursors with that and it works in Linux.
  8. A couple of years ago, using a very old, very out-of-date computer, I used to always run into all sorts of trouble with Linux, especially since I used to use my Linux-box for programming and testing purposes. But one of the most annoying mishaps I came across was the fact that playing my movies, CDs, or even the occasional video clip was next to impossible, considering my dire lack of memory at the time. Even a 2 MB video clip would cause my system to hang, and force me to reboot. But now, since I have a decent PC, I'm gradually returning to my beloved Linux-box, and thankfully I don't have the memory problems I used to have. But another problem came up... codec support! Too many of my movies and DVDs refuse to work, telling me that I don't have the required decoders. Unfortunately, most of the decoders and codec packages I use with Windows don't work with Linux. So my question now is: How do you guys get your movies to work on Linux? Do you download separate codecs, or do you simply have a media player that has it all? And could you please provide me with links to whatever tool you use? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance .
  9. I can type 70 wpm,which is pretty good considering that i'm just 10
  10. Even though this Top-10 list has some very useful sites, I decided to include my own Top-10 list. Honestly, this is the first time I think about making a list, and it showed me how much I depend on certain sites for managing my online life . So here goes: 1. Download.com My number One source for new software and updates. 2. Internet Infidels Discussion Board A very active forum discussing a wide range of subjects about athiesm, generally philosophy, and intellictual matters in general. 3. Alternate Reality Gaming Network A very interesting genre of games. 4. Amazon.com DUH! 5. DevianART An indispensible site for anyone even remotely dealing with graphics. 6. Internet Movie DataBase A second home for movie buffs. 7. Google.com Search Engine What I think is the perfect Search Engine. 8. World Wide Web Consortium Where the Internet is really made. 9. Anne Rice's Official Website The Queen of Goth and Horror literature. 10. Bored.com A place to chill out and relax when you have nothing better to do. But of course, this list is constantly changing. I might refresh it from time to time .
  11. PSP is great for begginers! I used to use PSP 7 alot a while back,I still use it but very rarely though, but i'm gonna stick with Photoshop CS2.
  12. Very nice. I can't wait to check out how this is going to look using multiple "cloud" renderings, different canvas sizes, and other colours. I can already see what my new Website's logo is going to be . Thanks a lot, nini. I hope there's more where that came from . By the way, I couldn't help but notice that this effect is almost exactly the same as the one included in this thread: Photoshop Tutorial: How To Create A Lightning Storm, which was written over a year ago. Yeah well, I got a nice effect either way, so I'm not complaining . Best Regards.
  13. Ok, I take back what I said before . Jeigh and Logan, you're making an excellent point, on which I now totally agree. My rationale for my former opinion was that, since people would get reputation depending on their helpfulness to others, new members like me can instantly see whether a certain member is to be trusted. But now, with the possibility of abuse in mind, I can see how this can become misleading and unfair. Besides, with any level of familiarity with technical topics, I suppose new members will easily get to know who to trust without needing a reputation system .
  14. Hi there, Rebecca . Thanks for the informative review. Here goes another host, or as the song goes: Another one bites the dust . But you know what, there was a huge danger flag that you should've noticed right away. When a host gives you a lot of space and very little bandwidth, you know things are not right. Bandwidth is a decisive factor in such cases, because if you only get 100 MB of bandwidth, that will practically limit the amount of space you can use. But regardless of all that, I have to say I enjoyed reading that review. You have a catchy writing style . Regards, Djetamun
  15. I use GIMP but very rarely since it clutters my desktop which gets very annoying.GIMP is a very good graphics manipulating programe and is also good for users without the requirements of Photoshop.
  16. Hey,i'm Aisha! My old host dissapeard without a trace,so i'm hoping that Asta Host will be just fantastic and not like my outher host, since it's the best free webhosting site i'v found. Well heres a little about me..Name: AishaAge: 10,11 in October thoughFrom: UKHobbys: Web and graphics designing
  17. I've seen the "reputation mod" in many forums, and I agree that it's a nice touch. I'd love to see it here, since I can already see there are many wonderful posts that deserve getting credit. But rapco, what do you mean that you give people "rep points" and that you want them to give them to you as well? Is there a "rep point system" here? I can't find it. All I found was the Rating option. Is that what you meant?
  18. I think the tabbed version is so much better, for more than one reason .Of course, there's the original purpose, which is making it easier for visitors to find what they're looking for right away. The tabs serve this purpose beautifully.Having the tabs on top of the page rather than on the left save a lot of space and give more room for your content -- which is great, by the way .The tabs blend seamlessly with the layout and colour scheme of your site. And the best thing is that you're sacrificing anything for the tabs implementation. So yes, my opinion is that you should definitely go with the new design. It's an A .
  19. Those tabs look good. It will assist the visitors a great deal.Should be easy enough to figure out the code for it, too.
  20. "Friends .. Romans .. Countrymen .. Lend Me Your Ears." -- William Shakespeare, in Julius Caesar. Being a new member here, I thought it was appropriate to hit it off with a decent introduction. Sadly, the dilemma here is that there aren't many things that could be said about me. Not due to lack of interesting material, mind you, but perhaps because of amiguity, complexity, and constant change. Then again, perhaps I'm just too full of it . Anyway, here I put this little thread, serving the purpose of an "introduction", even if not too well. Who knows, I might add to it soon. Or I might leave it, never to remember it again. But no matter what happens to it, I won't be accused of NOT having an introduction . Best regards.
  21. Hey Nightfox, Your easiest solution is to download and run ie4linux. I spent a long time trying to get IE6 working with WINE for FC5 and never realised that there was this installer which could have saved me hours. I only found it after I got IE6 working, which was a pity. Cheers, MC
  22. This is about one of the most famous, all time hero, phpBB modification writer, aUsTiN-Inc. And this is what happened to him for supporting (tech support) his mods on phpBB and phpBBHacks forums. Its a really pathetic thing. Read on... This is a quote from the phpBBHacks owner/staff to aUsTiN-Inc This is a quote from the phpBBHacks owner/staff for the second time to aUsTiN-Inc Now this is his reply to the phpBBHacks owner/staff! Now this is his new signature Everything in this post is kept intact, not altered and is as quoted by the author. The actual post can be found here. This mod writer now runs a seperate forum to give technial support for his mods!
  23. Exactly! Microso$ft Windows Vista is been delayed a lot till now. So dont need to worry of using Microso$ft Windows Vista for another few more months, and who know if they feel like the may make it years before its final release (not really!)
  24. I think what Micro$oft is tring to tell is that Micro$oft Windows Vista can use USB 2.0 Pen Drives as a swap file (Page file). I am not sure that what I said is true. This is just a random guess. If they are tring to fool innocent buyers then its no big thing as they have been doing it till now. Thats why people are switching from Windows to Linux (there are other reasons too).
  25. Hey I have made a topic with some group icons for what? I have been designing to just let it go? Go to this post and upload the icons.
