Hi guys, As usual I am again with a set of dum problems about SMF. I dont know why I could not make a sperate topic for this. (Mods please do the needful)Ok here is my problem....A friend of mine has a YaBB 2.1 forum but now he wants to upgrade or convert to SMF. We tried searching at SMF's site but we could not find an exact upgrade for his version of YaBB. Does anyone know about an convertor for this version? If you find any, please let me know by posting here.

Group Icons For Astahost Its one of the interesting components missing
iGuest replied to iGuest's topic in General Discussion
Ya cyborgxxi is right, every one should contribute. I am the only one doing something stupid by designing some group logos.I know Xisto has got better designers. Every one should try their luck. Come on man. -
Are you joking or are you serious? If you are joking its ok. If not (I really dont want to start flames here) I think its my problem that I am using a cracked version of IPB and it should'nt bother anyone else. If anytime anyone gets irritated with my usage of cracked version of IPB they should go and give a complaint at IPS and not throw them or ban them from forums PERMANENTLY. Yes you are 100% correct about IPS finding cracked versions of their software, but there is something you should know. Cracked version means you are less likely to get caught. I mean when you are cracking the web-software you are actually disabling its feature to comunicate with IPS, which also means that you CANNOT receive intergrated updates. This is one and the most important way which IPS uses to get cracked versions of IPB, they have a system in the IPB which mails them about the condition of the board. There IPS can find out if you are using a cracked/nulled version of IPB or not. This is help full when you have a nulled edition and not a cracked edition. Nulled means that you have illegaly got a copy of the web-software, cracked means you have cracked the nulled version of IPB. Note: IPB stands for Invision Power Boards IPS stands for Invision Power Services.

Group Icons For Astahost Its one of the interesting components missing

Here are those Registered Users, Super Mod and I also made another one exclusively for Xisto --> Hosted. Here they are... -
Same here with me. I wont switch until and unless there is some hard reason for switching. Another irritating part about switching is that dum old Micro$oft updates. I will have to keep updating until they classfy it "nearly bugless", witch I think will take another year for that to happen. After all its Micro$oft man. What else can you expect.

Seriously this aint a webpage BUTTON, you are new to the forum so I would'nt mind telling you what it is. Its called team icon and on the Invision Power Board its called group icon. Yeah, that was I too was thinking of (does not fit with the theme). But before I designed these group icons, I had made some for my friend's board, so I'll put them here and hope to see if it comes on the board . By the way I think it merges with the theme better than the previous one. This has more number of group icons than the previous ones as this aint animated. Its just pain. So its easy to make them. The previous one was a head ache getting it write. Here they are... You can use these icons for members having custom member titles. And I have got two more icons for "Registered User" and "Super Mod" but I felt not showing it here because Xisto doesnt have these ranks or groups. -
Yeah, I mean group icons for Xisto, its one of the interesting componentes missing. I have managed to make some for the Admins, Global-Mods and Mods. If you want more DONT contact me as my head aches getting them right. Ask some-other imaging guru to make more or edit. And by the way its for free! I mean I dont want anything from Xisto for that since I am only posting here for fun and knowledge and not for the hosting! Here is my creation....(Its animated and it works with IPB v.2.1.4)

Aha! Seems that you have nice and latest versions of the Micro$oft Windows Opertaing System. But the fact I would like to mention here is that many people have the Micro$oft Windows Opertaing Systems you have, to be out of the line and to have your own identity, you need something ancient, right? You say Micro$oft Windows 98SE is ancient? Check that again, I seem to have an pre-historic version of them. Here is what I have. In increasing order of its pre-histority Micro$oft Windows 98SE Micro$oft Windows 98 Micro$oft Windows 95 Micro$oft Windows 3.1 --> First version of Windows Micro$oft Windows DOS 1 to 4. Can you beat that? Apart from these, I have the Micro$oft Windows 2000 Professional, Micro$oft Windows XP Home Edition, but these are still there in the market. And dont count as something great. One more thing that I would like to tell is that all my pre-historic versions legal. ( I dont have tech-support for them now!) Every time a new version of the OS realeases my dad is the first one to get it (He is crazy about Windows ). And because of that he does'nt allow me to install Linux, but I still managed to install RedHat Linux 9. And taking about compatibility, every one must agree that Micro$oft Windows is the best, even in user friendly issues. I feel its the best because I still have'nt managed to connect to the internet in Linux using my ethernet card's cable connection.

I voted Firefox. Now don't get me wrong, I give IE all the benefits of any browser, including Opera, Safari, Amaya, Konqueror, Epiphany, Galeon, etc, because I develop and design web applications. However, IE's lack of improvements and lack of doing anything standards related is annoying me because IE is the mainstream browser, not because people choose to use it but because it's forced upon the user with any Windows operating system, I'm quite annoyed that the courts actually allowed this and didn't see it as a monopoly because when we had browser wars you wouldn't believe how fast IE acted to make sure they completed CSS1 standards and winning the war, now it seems like they're constantly on vacation, releasing a new version every 5+ years with nothing that helps companies or web designers take advantage of newer technology.IE is playing catch up, because they are so far behind it's not funny at all.For someone like Microsoft, I can not imagine why their development for IE is slow. Is it because there is so many problems they have with it that they don't allow time for implementing new web technology due to fixing these problems. I'm not going to blame this on the fact that IE development is outsourced, but maybe that's why?Now I know IE7 addressed a lot of the known issues but mostly towards CSS, they didn't bother with much in the way of Javascript problems they had and it's known that IE does not support application/xhtml+xml; correctly nor will they until a new version release, how can you make use of XHTML if the proper mime-type isn't supported. What I don't understand is, why we have to wait for new version releases, I know that new version releases usually means API changes and improvements, but I have little to believe that improvements were made.As for people saying it's safer and less buggy, how can you back up those claims? I can clearly back up those claims that IE is not safer, by my work as a computer technician. I have made my visits less frequent to clients who use to every week catch something through IE because of their browsing habits (you should know what I'm talking about), so I showed them Firefox (and believe me these people aren't computer savvy) and they were fine using it (it did not change their browsing habit, but it kept them safe), and I had less callouts to them. In a sense it was bad for me, because I was given less business to them, but they are loyal clients and will always call me when they have problems.I would really love to see a change log of everything from IE6 to IE7 and compare it with a change log from Firefox 1 to 1.5.3.Cheers,MC

Have you guys heard of Micro$oft Office Live Beta? If you have'nt, well here is a short intoduction! Micro$oft is giving free domain registration along with hosting (very pathetic hosting features). You will have to be a citizen of the United States for signing up for these offers. Actually Micro$oft seems to aiming at small business companies, they partner with them and...you know what. Actually Micro$oft does'nt register the domain names, some other third party company does. Anyway here is the cunning little trick you guys/gals can try out. 1)Sign-up for an account. 2)Get your free domain. 3)Some-how use their hosting package for 60 days. 4)61st day, log-in to your third party domain account control panel, change the name-servers to AstaHosts. You get to use the domain for the rest of the year (1 year) for FREE! If you want to stay honest, you can use their hosting features itself (no ads, just a very small button at the bottom-right corner). Their hosting account feature gives you ASP and ASPX support. 30 MB Disc space. Unlimited bandwidth (I think so, because I have not read anything about band-width) Get your free domain with site from Micro$oft's Office Live. Note: Your domain will take about 24hrs to get registered.

And hello back to you from Western Canada. I haven't worked at McDonalds since about 1970 or '71. (I doubt they have changed much.) Hope you have a good Forum experience here. Good Luck with your schooling.

It also depends on what the program is going to do. And how or where you want it to work. Certain languages a best for "local" machines, other languages do things over the web.If you could be more specific about the program you have in mind, then perhaps we could be more specific in our answers.

I have an account here were I enjoy the privilege of being an "outsider" and a relatively in-active member ( I only visit once in a while) and I also have a Hosting account membership at the Xisto were I am a Moderator. As far as I am aware, you may have membership at both places, but a Hosting account at only one. Credits are not transferrable except to/from Hosted members within the same site. I don't know why except I speculate that it is to avoid situations where there is a possibility for abuse, as already indicated. So I am in a similar situation. I have over 100 credits here which I will never use, but can not transfer to others. Oh well... I figure the knowledge I glean from Xisto is worth it.

I take it we're not talking about motorcycles.Well I like cycling, I like motorcycles and I like cars. What I like best out of those, would have to be cars, not because they're safer or can be faster, but the fact that I can do more alterations/modifications for a car than I can really do for a bicycle or motorcyle, but I'd still work on them when given a chance to. Another thing is I do enjoy the comfort, listening to music etc. On a motorcycle or a bicycle you pretty much have to be alert with everything around you, so listening to say your iPOD while travelling is not a good idea.Cheers,MC

How Do You Create Web-Forms? HOw the hell
iGuest replied to Citezyne's topic in Websites and Web Designing
At Xisto, there is no need to install PHP or anything like that, your hosting account comes pre-installed with PHP. (I dont know which version of PHP, as its been a long time since I had a hosting account here!)If you were talking about installing the script, you just need to paste it into your webpage, edit some stuff (like ['email'], ['first'], etc..) and then view it using your favorite web-browser and it will be done. If you encounter any problems, then there is something wrong with the code. -
I can help you if you want forums without MySQL database. But it uses PHP, the forum is called EasyForums, has anyone heard of it. Here is the link...to the download page. What I would like to say is that, EasyForums uses simple text based database, instead of the MySQL database. This is very usefull when some free web hosts dont provide MySQL support.

Yes it was a very exciting game, I thought the game changed when Larrson came on, he set up the two Barcelona goals.
