  1. I agree Photoshop is the industry standard however I found I still required a lot of plugins for the majority of things I would want to do, however I had to leave Photoshop because it did not want to work for me if I had a mouse and a tablet connected when running PS. I don't know if they've released a patch for this, but that's when I turned away from PS CS2 and started using GIMP.Gimpshop is the modified GIMP to resemble Photoshop, so that you won't be too lost when using GIMP this way. PS makes things a lot easier but when you've got to adjust, you just do it and it still does what I need it to do, even if it requires a lot more work, but it's sort of like using an earlier version of PS or PSP.Cheers,MC
  2. ISO files are just images of the content they cloned, most likely created from a DVD/CD. I use to boot Live CDs off the Hard Drive. It was simply downloading the ISO, giving it a location: cat name_of_iso.iso > /dev/hda10 Then alter the bootloader to point to the root /dev/hda10. Booting ISOs under NTFS partitions is another story though and since I work mostly under Linux, I never did get round to doing an NTFS ISO boot. Cheers, MC
  3. first: move your curser around the screen if the curser turns into a hand you can click and you will be taken to a different screen/area. second: flee battle until' you are at least a level 15 and have got level 15 weapons and spells
  4. I don't know VB6 that well, so instead of explaining it based on another language I thought this would help you out: http://www.idautomation.com/barcode-scanners/integration-guide.html Cheers, MC
  5. Only thing I don't possess in that list is the creativeness for pictures, the only thing that concerns me is what you said.Paid with publicity if you sell it, so then who's raking in the profit? I understand the publicity side of things if it's offered freely however. So how far have you actually gotten with developing your own forum?Cheers,MC
  6. I really liked IPB, but now that new versions arent free I like yabb2 the best. Has the same features as any other paid forum.
  7. Hey there people i m thefiregod i love photoshop and once owned a website named TFG GFX (thefiregod's graphics) but i lost my hosting which brings me here so Holla Everyone
  8. Sorry the command above was for WinXP. If you use Win2K then you'll need delsrv.exe. You will then have to do: delsrv service_name To get the lists of services, I think SCLIST was the command, but again these may be in the Resource Kit, which you should get if you administrate the computer. Cheers, MC
  9. Easier to do it in command prompt, well from my point of view. The command is SC which is Service Control. These commands should be typed as is, spaces, characters etc, keep it like that. To see a list of all service: sc query state= all | findstr "SERVICE_NAME" To delete a service: sc delete service_name Where service_name is the name of the service, which is why I gave you the command to output all the service names. I'm glad to see things where command line can be used. Cheers, MC
  10. A small colour table (3k), and a considerably larger colour grid (86k). *Edit* -- links should be good now
  11. Well you can connect directly to the SMTP server using sockets to connect to it and sending the commands you need to do.Do you know what commands must be sent? If not just search for "telnet smtp" since this should give you the basic commands to get it working, you could have a go at reading the RFC on SMTP, which is RFC821 (there is a newer one too) which hopefully you'll understand more on SMTP and what you can and can't do.What flexibility do you need from mail(), because it might be simple to just add that flexibility to it.Cheers,MC
  12. Creating your own DTD is not hard at all, it'll take a while to understand it but within a few days you should grasp how to go about this, here's a brief tutorial from w3c to help you http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Guide/xhtml-m12n-tutorial/ You may want to look into XHTML 1.0 Transitional for the Iframe information you'll require to create a module to add into it. There is a working draft in W3C to create an alternative iframe means for XHTML called XFRAME but it's not ready yet. Cheers, MC
  13. Trailing slash is also beneficial for the browsers, otherwise, if you gave it the address http://forums.xisto.com/ without the trailing slash, it's going to add the protocol http:// and it's going to add the trailing slash, which is not cool when you could have been efficient in the first place, it'll save a few processing cycles so your browser does not need to do this.Other than this, well, just be efficient, don't take too many short cuts, I see a lot of problems arise from trying to cut corners.Cheers,MC
  14. I should probably start contributing to HandyPHP though, but how to put it, it's not the most pleasant looking site, it needs work.Your function build_input_field could be improved.Firstly, you should use HTML's defaults for the input element, this is just like doing <input /> what would you expect it to be if displayed in your browser? You should then make sure you know all the attributes for the types of input and what attributes it can accept (this is where you create validations for the type of data it can accept), that way you can make sure you limit the attributes of the input to only using what it can based on the type specified, must ensure no exploitation too.If I said the type is password, I can't use the attribute checked="checked" because it's the wrong type. Also I see that you force some attributes, that aren't really required, nor do you properly check their value existence, you would have to turn on error_reporting(E_ALL); to see what I mean.I'm sure there's more that can be done, maybe more along the lines as to creating a complete HTML DOM API or specific areas like forms, tables, lists, etcNow for the whole script, to me it's not flexible enough to be used widely, you need to give the user more control, allow them to make changes without altering the file itself, you will need to put in security for it too.I notice some things in your notes above too, these things you could solve through your script, those would be beneficial to have.I might take the opportunity to work on this script when I find time to.Cheers,MC

    Get Things Done?

Just another site to submit what you like, doesn't mean they're better than what anyone can do. I haven't been to that site in ages because when I did, I just looked at the mess these scripts were in and never went back, I'd spend more time cleaning and securing a script than actually testing it out. In the end, it's far better to build the script yourself, though with time constraints, a little help to boost your work as well as getting some inspiration to help you along is good.Cheers,MC
  16. You must specify that what you want is in the current location you are at: [root@james-laptop ndiswrapper-1.34rc2]# ./ndiswrapper -i WG511v2.INF That's it. If you want ndiswrapper to be accessible whenever you type it, then create a link to it inside the /usr/bin location, or where you see fit. Cheers, MC
  17. Would be nice to see what Specs you have on that computer, some people who say old and slow say computers that are less than 4 years old, I've got systems dating back to the 80s that are old, but not slow.Since you're running Win2K I can say you're running a system with a processor speed greater than 150MHz, RAM might be around 64MB or more. Now you can run a Desktop Environment, and it doesn't mean you need the recommended 512MB of RAM though this would be nice to have. You can run the lite desktops, ignite has suggested a few, which may mean you'll need to find the right Linux for you or be able to install what you need off the internet.AIM is no problem, lots of clients exist that will work for you. May not have all the fancier features though.Firefox, of course it's on Linux.Adobe programs, depends which ones, though you may want to look into Alternatives, I did write a guide how to get PS7 on Linux using Wine, but Gimp is really an underestimated app, I found it does a few things better.Cheers,MC

  20. This may not be the right way to go about it as I don't know what information is being passed to this class, but you could do: class objectInfo { function objectInfo($object_array) { $object_array = is_array($object_array) ? $object_array : array($object_array); reset($object_array); while(list($key, $value) = each($object_array)) { $this->$key = tep_db_prepare_input($value); } }} That will just insure that $object_array is an array, so that these methods that expect arrays can still continue without any warnings, however, they're just warnings and can usually be ignored, you just have to make sure that your error_reporting doesn't display them. Cheers, MC

  22. First of all.... Sorry if i write something wrong, i'm not english, an i don't know how my english is doing.. but.. i'll try to write everything about me to introduce my self here! Oh, well, hell.. Hello! I'll say something about myself, just to you understand "WHY" I'm here! My name is Hanns, but call me Sunny if you prefer. Brazil is my country.. and look at that, i didn't find anyone from Brazil at this point... maybe they are hiding their selfs, so, if there's a brazilian person reading, manifest yourself... if not, just say "Wee!" I think that nobody knows that in Brazil, we don't have any webhosting for us, so we need to run aroud the world and search for other hosts in other countries.... I had a site named "Rom Star", good times.. it was a site about emulators and roms, and our staff had a lot of work to keep online 3 Gb of games, including all consoles... It was storm times, but i passed wining.. i addiquired some experience with it, and i with a new project of site, i forgot the roms and games... There's two years that i worked alone, all by my self on a site to have erverything about pop culture (music, films, arts, youtube 'the new pop culture', etc). And i really need a host to host my form mail, i have already joined all hosts that a knew, but i can't find one that a formmail works well, actually, there's no host working a formmail script for me... this is sad... but, maybe this times changed.... I really could say that i like to meet other people, but i loved to meet other people, know their culture.. it's nice! But... I think i just write to much for a minute... and to much for just a little description... Thanks to much for everyone.. And... Happy new year! 2007 is coming... and the end of the world too!^^
