  1. Hey, welcome to Xisto - the one and only place for the best free web hosting. I hope you enjoy your stay here If you need any help, feel free to PM me anytime
  2. Nope, cPanel works fine for me. Trying different browsers usually help me because before I formatted my computer, I was unable to access cPanel via Firefox - only Internet Explorer works...
  3. The question mark is a condition statement, sort of like if...then...except in this one, a value is stored if the condition is met
  4. Also, you can create an account at https://del.icio.us/ and import all your bookmarks there. My del.icio.us account is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  5. Haha, I think it's safe to say that OpaQue got owned for many reasons: 1. My time is lower than his 2. My fastest reaction: 0.000 seconds. His fastest reaction: 0.114 seconds 3. It took me 14 tries. It took him 15 to 20 tries. (Actually, I'm not too sure about this one)
  6. There are several ways your account will get suspended[*]: 1. You have -30 credits or below 2. You plagiarize (1:1 copy) 3. You just got hosted, don't have a lot of posts, and decide to make a spam topic. So to answer your question, it all depends on why your account got suspended. If your account was suspended for have less than 4 hosting credits but above negative 30 hosting credits, then no, you will not lose your account or get terminated. However, if your account was repeated suspended because you abused the ToS or not follow the rules, or both, then yes, moderators or admins will shut down your account for good. In other words, don't break the rules and you won't get terminated [*]These can change at anytime.
  7. Okay, explain the problem here. What's happening? What error, if any, are you getting? Is cPanel confusing? Do you need any features explained? State the situation and what you have tried here. That all depends. What url did you enter at the process page (https://support.xisto.com/)? If you entered in a subdomain, then yes, you will be able to: simply go to yourdomain.trap17.com where yourdomain is what you used. However, if you entered a domain, histology-world.com, then the only way to view your website is to point the name servers to ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com. That wasn't a very good explanation, but that was the best I could do based on your question. Post back or PM me if you have a problem
  8. You can use an open source peer-to-peer application to insure that there are no backdoors. I can think of two open source and free p2p apps at the moment: Shareaza and BitTorrent
  9. gotcha41, go to your cPanel at yourdomain.trap17.com. Then, go to Fantastico, and find "Gallery". It should be under Image GalleriesThen, install Gallery on any directory you choose. I chose sang.trap17.com/images/ to install my web album. After that, go to yourdomain.trap17.com/images/setupThat's all! If you need any more help, feel free to PM me or post a reply
  10. I made it a new topic because you hijacked adriantc's thread here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/10130-a-small-question-for-the-admin-a-small-question-for-the-admin/. His thread was about bandwidth, and you snuck in and asked this, so I thought it'd be a good idea to separate the two. Also, Nils gave a very thorough reply and mentioned OpaQue.
  11. You do not get points if someone replies to your thread/posts. Sorry However, the people who reply to your posts or threads get points, and you can be that person by replying to threads and participating in the forums.
  12. 1) NilsC's post can help clear things up on this: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/8717-fair-warning-is-given-to-all-hosted-members/ 2) The credits cannot stay static or else Xisto would die, and your site will die, too. Generally, the hosting credits system is very lenient when it comes to dishing out credits. If you make a good post, like yours, then you will definately earn more than 1 credit. You lose exactly 1 hosting credit per day, so it's not hard at all to keep your site alive. 3) To get Service Pack 2, or Package 2, you need to do the same thing you did when you earned Service Pack 1: post. Except this time, you need to accumulate 30 hosting credits instead of 10. Hoped that cleared things up. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me or post a reply.
  13. Haha, I don't really know how to explain it to you...I guess you have to be speaking fluent English for years before you can truly understand it.Basically, you can remove the last three letters, "bie", and the word will still make sense. The only difference between the two terms is that "freebie" is a noun and "newbie" can be a noun and an adjective:Freebie - Oooh, nice. You earned a freebie to the game.Newbie - Let's all point and laugh at the newbie. - nounNewbie - Feel free to ask newbie questions at this forum - adjective.
  14. Take a look at this screenshot taken directly from my cpanel: Xisto has version 4 Question answered -> thread closed
  15. Okay, here are some ground rules that you, as a member, need to keep in mind before posting links to flash games or flash animations.1. Make sure the topic title is clear - include the name of the flash and indicate whether it's a game or animation2. Include a gist of the game or animation in the topic description3. Include a thorough summary of the game or animation in your thread. This is very important because your post will be more search engine friendly, and it will prevent others from wasting their time if they don't like the flash, or they have seen/played the flash before.4. Post a link to the game. The link MUST take the user to the game immediately. If not, we will be forced to delete/edit your topic to make it more user-friendly.Moderators and admins, feel free to edit this if you feel I left something out. Enjoy, and remember not to spam!
  16. Okay, I guess I'll start off this topic with a bang (I hope). What's your reaction time? Have you had it properly looked at recently? Why not play a game and check it at the same time? Here is a game I found last week, and I decided to put it on my site because it entertained me for 5 minutes. The game is called Reaction (I don't really see a title, so I'm giving it one), and the object of the game is to shoot sheep with a tranquilizer dart before they leave your screen. If you jump the gun, you get a three second penalty time which will hurt you because your times, after 5 turns, are averaged. I got Rocketing Rabbit at .1862 seconds. What did you get? Here is the link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Don't forget to post your time and rank here! Good luck
  17. Your image is going to get deleted from their servers in a couple of days because I remember it said something like: "all pictures of bacon, legs of ham or policemen is not acceptable and will be deleted." Nevertheless, it's a really funny picture
  18. 1. You can make the marquee stop when the mouse is over it with a little JavaScript action:<marquee direction="up" scrolldelay=32 scrollamount=1 onMouseOver=this.stop() onMouseOut=this.start()>This will stop when the mouse is over the marquee, and it will resume when mouse is not over marquee</marquee> 2. That code will not work in Mozilla Firefox, so it's pretty much useless (no offense to you) because nobody that I know use Firefox anymore.
  19. First off, congrats! Your base directory, although it may not seem like it, is called "public_html". So you upload your images and make it visible, you'd have to upload it to a folder called "images" INSIDE the "public_html" folder. If you need more help, feel free to PM me or post a reply. Edit: Fixed a typo. Oh, and one last thing, if you call your images using the src attribute "/images/xxxx.jpg", then all your all your images will be visible no matter how deep it is inside your directory.
  20. As everyone know, there two ways (that I can think of) to change files' and directories' permissions. One is to change it in your cPanel's Disk Manager and the other is with an FTP client that supports chmod.Well, I'm doing something for my site that requires files to have full permissions (Execute, Write, and Read on all three groups). At first, I thought that if I made the directory 777, then every file created in that directory will be 777 as well. I'm wrong. An alternative to doing this is to change each file permission myself, but that would be too much work.So my question is: is there a way to change file permission with PHP? Like a code in PHP that would change the files' permission? Thanks in advance!
  21. Hmm, in Firefox, go to Tools -> Options... -> Web Features -> make sure the JavaScript checkbox is checked -> Advanced ... -> make sure Change Images at the bottom is checked. If that doesn't work, try reading my post about rollover images, and see if you can try to incorporate it into your page. Feel free to PM me or post a reply if it doesn't work out!
  22. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html Basically, you could make .jsp pages (which Xisto supports) with tomcat
  23. ^Look for yourself. I even tried Refreshing the page + cache override, but it's still there
